Photos of Celebrities at Women’s Marches Around the World

One day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president, protestors took to the streets of Washington, D.C. — and other cities around the world — in opposition of the reality star’s policies not just on women’s rights but human rights. While celebrities stayed away from the inauguration, they came out in droves for the Women’s Marches with Amy Schumer, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Katy Perry, Amy Poehler, Chelsea Handler, Madonna, Lena Dunham, America Ferrera, and Ashley Judd among those lending their voices to the cause. And, yes, many of them rocked pink pussy hats.

Miss France wins 65th Miss Universe pageant

Iris Mittenaere from France won the 65th Miss Universe title on Monday (30 Jan). She beat 85 other contestants who competed in the pageant that was held in Manila, the Philippines.

The show was again hosted by US comedian Steve Harvey, who fortunately announced the right winner in this year’s pageant. Harvey made humiliating gaffe last year when he mistakenly announced Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippines as the winner.

Mittenaere, 23, is studying to become a dentist and comes from a small town called Lille, located in Northern France.

The second runner-up spot went to Andrea Tovar, 23, from Colombia while the first runner-up went to Raquel Pelissier, 25, from Haiti.

The finalists who made it to the top six were France, Kenya, Colombia, Philippines, Thailand and Haiti.

The finalists who made it to the top nine were the USA, Thailand, France, Mexico, Kenya, Colombia, Canada, Haiti and Philippines.
