In Germany the 190 SL is often referred to as the Nitribitt Mercedes, in that case a black-and-red 1956 owned by Rosemarie Nitribitt, the high-class German courtesan whose 1957 murder remains unsolved: Mercedes-Benz W 121 B II which was designed by Karl Wilfert and Walter Häcker in a sporty body style reminiscent of the 300 SL Gullwing 60 years ago.
