Music is the first thing he'd turn to on a boring day or whenever he just wants to relax, and usually it would be from his indie playlist. The first song he'd select, however, would be "Me" by The 1975 or any other song by that band or similar.
Anything popular would be his favorite, since he'll be constantly hearing about it no matter where he goes, that it'd just stick with him. Maroon 5's "Maps" is something that he'd like as it is very popular as of now.
Hip-hop songs would definitely be the ones he'd jam to with no hesitation. He would like to have it loud, catchy, and energetic as he desperately tries to dance along, so it would be something like "Talk Dirty" by Jason Derulo and other songs just like that.
Ballads with sadder or darker themes would be more of his type, even if he's feeling quite happy. Taeyang's "Eyes, Nose, Lips" would most likely be the first song he'd play whenever he's listening to music just because it is a slow, somewhat sad ballad.
Whenever he wants to relax, he'll just pull out his music player, scroll through the songs until he finds his favorite chill dubstep song, Damian Jr. Gong Marley and Skrillex's "Let It Bun Dem". He'll just close his eyes as soon as he hears the first note, and let the music just take him away.
On a normal day, or even on a somewhat special day, he'd immediately want to tune to his favorite ballad, preferably Hirai Ken's "Kikyougaoka", and other ballads that have the gentle tune. Most of the time, he would use his favorite song to take his mind off stress or put him to sleep.
To definitely pump him up, he'd tune in to his favorite metalstep song, which would most likely be KoRn and Skrillex's "Get Up!" or something similar. He'd tune into it any time of the day, no matter where he is. The beat would definitely get him head-banging and air-guitaring, alone or not.
Meaningful old songs are sure to be his favorite. The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" does fall under that criteria, so it would be the first song he'd look for in his music library.
Classical music is the type of song that gets to him, and it can range from any type since everything's relaxing anyway. However, his all-time favorite would most likely be Vivaldi's "Four Seasons", since he can listen to a wide range of music in one track.
A jazz song with romantic themes would most likely be ideal for him. Michael Buble's "The Way You Look Tonight" would definitely satisfy the said criteria, and he would never get tired of listening to it again and again.
Since she just goes with whatever song gets stuck in her head or get her attention, she could probably have Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" since it is quite popular and it's not that hard to get it stuck in your head after the first listen. She wouldn't really think of it as anything at first, but she'll find herself singing along to it randomly and loving it.
As strange as it may seem, it is possible that she could jam along to "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea, but only she would know about that. It would be part of her playlist that gives her a big emotional and mental boost, sort of like a power song.
As a dubstep lover, she would definitely go for a mix that'd get her bobbing her head and moving her body involuntarily. Her favorite would most likely be "Boy Oh Boy" by Diplo and GTA, as the beat would express her feelings to just be energetic and happy.
She would love to reminisce and get all nostalgic as she listens to her bubblegum pop/90's pop, so she would most likely go with Spice Girls. The first song of her choice would probably be "Stop", as it has a very nice beat and catchy lyrics.
As a rock lover, she would love anything that would make her want to get up, bang her head to the beat, and just jump. She would like modern songs, but she would go crazy over the old rock hits. I can see her jamming and giving her all to "Feel The Noize" by Quiet Riot.
Something colorful and relaxing would definitely help her out on a stressful day, so she'd immediately look through her playlist for Beenzino's "Dali Van Picasso" or something even more chill like Bob Marley's "Buffalo Warrior". She'll enjoy these songs so much that she'll either scream or sing to it.
She would fall in love with "Shall We Dance" from "The King and I". She'll love to hum along and lightly dance to it, as it has a rather sweet and romantic melody/feel to it. It would also be the only song she'd turn to no matter what her mood is.
