The Blind Side makes me so emotional.
The part where the NCAA rep is basically telling a seventeen year old kid that this family doesn’t really love him; they just want to get a good recruit for their alma mater is despicable. And that really happened; someone actually told that to that man when he was seventeen years old. And the bs about how it “might encourage other boosters to become legal guardians potential athletes and funnel them to their schools” as if that’s a horrible thing – Heaven forbid more people would adopt kids in need, get them off the streets, out of the drug world, give them a good home, give them the opportunities to go to a good school, love and nurture and protect and encourage them, making them one less kid who gets shot at the ripe old age of 19 or 20.
I love the Michael Oher and the Tuohy family story; I think it’s just beautiful, and a true representation of who real Catholics are and what real love, real families are.
