mmmm I just started watching hawaii five-0 today (six episodes in a row now) and oh my god going through the "steve mcgarrett" tag of yours is heavenly. thank you for existing, both you and steve mcgarrett, I'm in love :')

oh, man. i’m so glad you’ve discovered the (frustratingly amazing and stupid and exasperating and hilarious and stupid and heartbreaking) show that is H50. i honestly love the characters so so so much - and, of course, therefore, love to see them tortured. *clears throat* ;) i mean, how can you not love them? and steve is pretty much 100% eyecandy, alex is amazing and sweet and an amazing actor and he whumps so well. ;D

Hey, Steve, listen to me. I know you’ve never been any good at listening to me, but right now, you got no choice, you stubborn son of a bitch. Do not die. Hey! Listen to me, do not die, okay? I’m not landing this thing for you to die on me! You understand? Huh? Good.

Uber 99c Comixology Sale

I’m reminded that Comixology are doing a sale of all of Uber Volume 1 right now. All issues 99c. Uber is one extreme pole of my work - an serious-mode over-researched alternate history of WW2, based around Nazi Germany inventing Enhanced Humans which come into play during the Siege of Berlin. It’s a book which is very much about the high level campaigns, and spends about equal times with the main Allies and Axis powers.

If I had to sum up the book’s intent, it’s that the majority of WW2 Superhero books tend to use it as a setting to expand superhero stories. Uber is explicitly interested in what using Enhanced Humans can say about WW2. It’s a book about WW2, my reading of it, and various elements connected to it.

Volume 2 is coming next year, and this is a good chance to catch up if you haven’t. If you want to give it a shot, I’d suggest either the first six issues (0-5) or the first year (0-11). The earliest stuff is some of my earliest superhero work (issue 0 was the second script in the genre I ever wrote) and as such, I tend to think the book doesn’t entirely show its merits until the end of the first arc or really show why it’s worthwhile until issue 11.

Uber is basically unlike any other superhero comic I’m aware of. I was writing the book the year I was doing Young Avengers, and the tonal backlash between the two was extreme, to say the least.

If you’re interested, you can find it here.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 2015. Described by Porsche as “the definitive track car for everyday use”. The 911 GT3 RS is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine with 500 hp of power and 460 Newton metres of torque, combined with a PDK transmission. The engine, which has the largest displacement and most power of any naturally-aspirated power unit with direct fuel injection in the 911 family, accelerates the from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and on to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 10.9 seconds

Not a muscle Bimmer like the later stripped down „Batmobile” but a stately German Grand Tourer: BMW New Six E9 3.0 CS (1971–75), built by Karmann in Rheine and extremely rare due to rust. Amazing how its builders were able to hide around 3100 pounds in such a light and elegant looking metal skin, perfectly proportioned.
