Since things have been quiet on the business front lately, I’ve taken to looking around at people and businesses that are tangentially attached to 1D to see if I can find connections or hints as to what is going on. For the most part, I’m not finding much, and the few threads I do pull either lead to nothing or are so tenuous that I’m not comfortable talking about them publicly.
But today I found something I felt was worth posting about. Sir Philip Nigel Ross Green, close friend and associate of Simon Cowell). Sir Philip is 20% owner of Millforth Limited (Simon Cowell owns 80%), and Millforth owns 50% of Syco (Sony owns the other 50%).
Millforth was formed in 2013 and in March 2014 Simon Cowell transferred all of his shares in Syco to Millforth so that Sir Philip now owns 20% of the company that he helped create with Simon. The Financial Times article I just posted excerpts from goes into more detail about that. It’s a good read.
Until today I’ve not given Sir Philip much thought. But he has clearly pulled some strings regarding One Direction.
