Let’s start off the day with some pure class.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the death of Sir Edward Elgar so here is the man himself conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 1933 as they play Cockaigne overture op40

This is for me one of my all time favourite pieces of music by any composer, I get goosebumps listening to it.

Most people won’t give a damn about or even get this but I’d thought I’d share

So I’m on Youtube looking up Elgar, as if I need to since I have the vast majority of his major works, anyhow while I’m listening to a rather nice rendition of his Organ Sonata [No. 1] in G Op. 28, I happen to glance over to the recommended and associated videos and it’s full of Sir Charles Stanford.

This made me chuckle no end for several minutes.
