Lancôme Noel 2013 Holiday Collection Swatches/Review!!!

You are - today - one of the first people in the world to see swatches of the unreleased Noel 2013 Collection from Lancôme (hooray), which will be out from November 2013, and - O.M.G…

This collection will be available globally (thank goodness), although a few of the shades and exact release dates might vary from region to region. (I’ll update with pricing information soon; don’t have it right this moment!)

The Lancôme Holiday 2013 look features sparkly softly-smoky eyes in jewel tones, glowing skin, and bright lips, so the collection includes:

Hypnose Star mascara in limited edition star-spangled tube

3 Absolu Velours in - 172 (coral red), 193 (deep red) and 363 (candy pink). These are like satiny liquid lipsticks that are more intense than the regular Lancôme lipsticks.

Rose Etincelle compact - a silvery-pink face and body highlighter stamped with a gorgeous rose and star design. (It’s pretty but it just looks white/silver against the skin.)

A packet of eye-liner patches for lazy girls who want the drama without spending too much time with liquid/gel liners

2 incredible nail varnishes which look run-of-the-mill in the bottle but dry into absolutely stunning, unique, matte-glitter textures on the nails; one a titanium diamanté (071), and the other a white Winter-frost (520).

Yes - they are matte and incredibly sparkly at the same time. Hard to visualize yeah?

2 incredibly opulent-looking lipsticks in black velvet pouches, hand-coated with tiny shards of Swarovski crystals (red shade not available at time of writing).

The single gripe is that the crystal shards will come off a little the first couple of times you handle the tubes, which is understandable considering they’re all coated by hand. Only the looser excess bits come off, and I haven’t noticed any “bald patches”.

We also have very exciting new additions; 4 Hypnôse Cream Eye Shadows in jewel-toned shades. (I hear these are limited edition and there will not be cream shadows in the permanent line-up for now.)

Emeraude Eternelle - emerald with gold and silver sparks

Sapphir Noir - blackened navy with blue and silver sparks

Quartz Taupe - taupe with silver, plum and grey sparks

Diamant Argente - straight crystalline silver/platinum sparks

More about these cream shadows…

Leaving on a Trip, and leaving you with my latest polish crush, Butter London’s Fishwife!

R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S. - on my nails for the duration of my work-trip to Paris this week!

I have a few more posts lined up for the next few days, but after those are all published, don’t be surprised if there are no posts for a short while. I’ll be back to my usual pictorials, swatches, and reviews soon enough!

On Fishwife:

I think a lot of people pass over this shade because the square bottle doesn’t bring out the holographic effect if you don’t swatch it on a nail, and it just looks like a pale shimmery seafoam grey on displays. If you’ve not paid much attention to this while looking at Butter London polishes, you should take a closer look.

This goes on smoother than most holographic polishes I’ve tried, and also dries with a beautiful gloss. 2 coats are sufficient for a lovely effect but it gets more opaque with 3 coats. I still would apply topcoat over it just to prolong its wear, but if you’re short of time, you CAN skip it and your nails would still look quite nice and shiny.
