This is an absolutely beautiful song. I may be butchering what the artist meant the lyrics to mean, but everybody has their own interpretations. Perhaps it could mean something along the lines of not knowing what you have until it is gone. “We’ll bring the water ‘til you see what it’s worth.” When you’re just starting to realize how good you have it, it will be taken away from you. The part of the song where she sings “Do you see the sun get soft and round/disappear” could be referring to the subconscious blindness humans possess. The sun sets every day (disappear) and some people are too busy going about their own monotonous lives to realize how beautiful it is. As far as who the “we’ll” is, my mind is left to wonder. Who will “bring the water?” In short, it is about humanity and how unappreciative we can be. But when something we want gets taken away, we realize that we were oblivious.
