silicon oil

To anyone who uses silicone containers as carb caps:

Stop. You are potentially damaging your lungs.

The operating temperature of food grade silicone is up to 500 degrees, and medical grade at around 600 degrees. Meaning that ABOVE these temps may cause melting of the silicone. Most dabs are well above 600, especially since most people have their “low temp” on an enail set at 660 degrees! So think about how hot your torch dabs are. You have no real way of telling how hot your nail is without a pyrometer or laser thermometer. And laser thermometers don’t work on Quartz, and need to be very fine tuned to work on Titanium.

You definitely don’t want that on your nail or in your lungs. Don’t believe me? Look it up.

This has been a dabbing PSA.

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

Okay so let me start off by saying, I thought this would be the weirdest product known to man.

The product description on this item is: The universal face filter. Silicone-free Blur Stick minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines to create a smooth, matte finish. Invisible matte coverage blurs pores and fine lines on every skin tone. Swipe for a smooth finish and makeup that doesn’t budge. Silicone-Free & Oil-Free formula won’t clog pores so skin can breathe. This product is vegan. All Milk Makeup products are cruelty-free

My review: I put it on after prepping my face with my UD prep spray and Farsali Unicorn tears. all i can say is… GOODBYE PORES!!! This product is a new holy grail. I have fairly large pores and this makes them nearly invisible. I was shocked. I actually use this product as a base and apply my primer over this product. The Blur Stick is silicone free which is great compared to benefit porefessional. honestly. for $36 i recommend everyone have this in their makeup bag. its amazing. Great job Milk Makeup!

Harry Potter Cookbook:

  • Title: Lemon Drop Candies

Information:

  • Yield: 45
  • There are multiple Harry Potter recipes found under my ‘hp cookbook’.
  • Image and recipe source are the same.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar, granulated
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 teaspoons citric acid
  • yellow gel food coloring
  • super-fine (granulated sugar in food processor), powdered or granulated sugar, to coat

Directions:

  • Prepare work stations– sauce-pan, silicone mat/marble/oiled parchment paper on sheet pan, oiled/buttered kitchen shears, oiled/buttered spatula, pan of coating sugar. Have ingredients all measured and ready to incorporate before starting. Sugar isn’t very forgiving!
  • Heat sugar, water and cream of tartar (prevents crystallization) in stainless steel or copper saucepan over medium/medium-high heat.
  • Heat to exactly 300 deg F, using a candy thermometer to verify temperature.
  • At 300, immediately remove pan from heat and pour to silicone mat/marble/lined pan.
  • Mix in lemon extract, citric acid and a small amount of gel coloring. Incorporate with oiled spatula.
  • When cool enough to handle (this will happen quickly), form into rope.
  • Using oiled kitchen shears, cut rope into individual pieces. Let fall into pan of coating sugar. This prevents the pieces from sticking to each other.
  • Sift excess sugar and allow candy to cool completely. It will harden after some time.

BACON AND EGG HERBED MUFFINS

These little babies are the easiest to make, are great to do in bulk and make the perfect “grab and go” clean paleo friendly meal. Eat as a snack or serve with a salad for a more elaborate meal.

YOU WILL NEED…

  • middle bacon rashers at least 1 for every 2 cupcakes
  • eggs (1 per cup cake you are making)
  • fresh herbs (I used oregano, basil, coriander & sage
  • pine nuts (optional)
  • salt and pepper
  • coconut oil
  • silicon muffin trays

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO…

  1. Using your fingers or a brush, rub the inside of the trays with the coconut oil, just to be safe.
  2. Preheat oven at 180 degrees
  3. Cut the bacon into long even strips and line them around the sides of each tray. Use your off cuts to place in the bottom. Don’t be too fussy…it all holds together once cooked.
  4. Throw in some chopped herbs and some pine nuts.
  5. Crack an egg into each tray
  6. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top
  7. Bake in the oven for at least 30mins or until the whites are solid.
  8. Allow to cool for about 10 mins before popping them out of the tray.
  9. Enjoy!! xx
