miyu irino @ anime expo, 7.3.17

i started writing this earlier but fell asleep pretty much the second i got home and out of the car! i have to say that i am not very familiar with some of irino-san’s roles outside of todomatsu, sora from KH and haku from spirited away, so some of what i’ve written down has been supplemented by information other fans shared on twitter. if anything i’ve posted here is inaccurate or not a good translation reach out to me so i can correct it.

the panel started with one of the directors of social media services for funimation (i did not write down his name so i just refer to him as “the interviewer” here) briefly introducing miyu irino and discussing some of his more famous VA roles. miyu came out and said hello to everyone in english, which got a huge response from the crowd! he was very humble and said that his english wasn’t good enough to speak publicly. of course, he said that in english and i don’t think anyone in the room thought he had a poor grasp of the english language. he didn’t seem to struggle to find the words he was looking for. also maybe i’m projecting but i thought he sounded like he had a tiny bit of a british inflection to his voice when he spoke in english. for the remainder of the panel he mostly spoke japanese but he would jump back and forth between japanese and english occasionally. the translator that accompanied miyu onstage joked that there was no need for him to be at the panel and with that, we got started.

miyu began acting at the age of 4 in children’s theatre productions. he did not start as a seiyuu but spent some time acting in commercials and television before his breakout role as haku in spirited away in 2000, when he was a junior high school student. his career exploded after spirited away and he credits that movie and miyazaki with really helping his career getting started. miyu mentioned that when he recorded spirited away, the audio recording was done in a theatre with the director/production staff present in the same room as miyu instead of in a traditional recording booth with the production staff separated from miyu by a thick sheet of glass. he said that the recording process for this movie made him nervous because it was very much unlike a standard VA recording session. (at this point i noted that he was being excessively modest about how much english he spoke and that he sounded fluent to me!

at this point the interviewer switched over to talking about one of miyu’s most famous roles, sora in the kingdom hearts series. the crowd cheered wildly and miyu looked out and acknowledged a few KH cosplayers in the room, saying that they looked “lovely” which got the crowd super excited all over again. miyu was asked if he plays video games himself, and he said “of course!” when he was a elementary/middle school student, he would frequently play games for 8 to 12 hours at a time when he was on break from school. he said he enjoyed many different genres of video games and that mario and final fantasy/squenix games were among his favorites. miyu mentioned he had purchased the special edition ps4 with the kingdom hearts theme and was playing KH 2.8, and looked forward to “working hard and playing games” when he went back home to japan.

the interviewer then began talking about miyu’s character in mobile suit gundam, saji crossroad. (in my notes, this is where my handwriting starts to deteriorate as i struggle to keep up with the flow of conversation) his character had a lot of development happen over the 2 series of this anime and miyu said he tried not to read too far ahead of the lines he was currently recording so that his reaction to what his character was about to do or say would be genuine. as the show was airing, he said, the fans’ reaction at first seemed to be that of “do we really need this character in the show?” but a major event near the end of the first season changed his character development and the opinion of some of the fans as well. miyu found the role of saji to be challenging, but said that he was very excited to be part of the gundam franchise because it’s so huge and popular. he joked that he was said he/his character could not pilot a gundam but he was happy that he could be “part of a gundam" since his character’s vehicle attached directly to the gundam body.

discussion turned to haikyuu!! and miyu’s character, koshi sugawara, which got a huge response from the crowd. a few people in the audience held up their itabags for miyu to see. he wanted to know if we as non-japanese fans enjoyed the show and if we thought it was very different from what our junior high experience was like. the general reaction from the crowd was that it was very different from the atmosphere in an american junior high school. he was curious about how the show was received outside of japan but thought that the character he played was relatable because it was a role that could be identified with regardless of what you grew up with - he plays a character that’s vice captain of the basketball team who’s overshadowed by a younger, more talented player and has to struggle to compete with him (tell me if this is inaccurate, i really haven’t watched any of this show!). miyu said that the haikyuu!! manga is ongoing and to please continue supporting the manga if we wished to see more of it animated in the future.

conversation switched over to anohana and his character jintan, which was also very popular with the crowd. miyu saw this role as a great stepping stone for his career and considers it an anime that is enjoyable for people who are not necessarily anime fans. he said his character was a fragile person and that he viewed his character as a human role instead of just a typical anime character. from there he began talking about seraph of the end and yuichiro hyakuya. miyu said that he was surprised non-japanese fans enjoyed this show as much as they did, because it was not a very popular show amongst japanese anime fans. he said he tried to bring the fantasy aspect of his character to the forefront, since the story is from a fantasy manga that runs in shonen jump. the manga for this is still ongoing as well, so please continue to support it if you would like to see more of the anime in the future.

at this point miyu and the interviewer began talking about osomatsu-san and todomatsu, my absolute favorite of irino’s characters. i got the impression that not everyone in the room had seen osomatsu-san, but the people who had watched it were loud and very passionate! when the interviewer initially brought up osomatsu-san, many of those fans started cheering and screaming TOTTY! over and over. miyu was incredibly surprised that osomatsu-san was popular outside of japan at all, since the humor of the show is “incomprehensible” at times and a very japanese style of comedy with lots of gags and wordplay. he said that even in japan, some people don’t understand the humor of the show and he wondered how well it translated to a non-japanese audience. miyu asked that we tell him during the q&a session at the end of the panel what we found humorous about the show and what we as non-japanese speaking fans thought of the jokes that weren’t really translatable into english.

discussion switched to miyu’s roles in your name., garden of words, and a silent voice, which was about to have its US premiere later that day at anime expo. your name. had a very different production process than many of the other projects that miyu has been a part of, in that shinkai had finished the artwork for the movie and recorded temporary audio tracks of himself reading the lines of his characters before the actual voice actors were brought into the studio to record their lines. we were shown the trailer for garden of words, which was unsubtitled. i am still learning japanese but am not fluent enough to accurately describe what was going on in the trailer, but i look forward to learning more about it. we then saw a subtitled trailer for a silent voice. i started tearing up pretty much the second it started playing, which kind of surprised me. i am a fan of the manga and found it very touching and sad at times but i didn’t expect to have such a strong emotional reaction to seeing it animated. i am really looking forward to this movie and i hope that i’ll get a chance to see it in theatres sometime soon. miyu stated that the overarching theme of the movie, aside from the obvious theme of bullying among adolescents is human connection. he said that it a role that required very emotional acting from him, which was challenging. he is proud of his role in a silent voice and hopes that everyone will go see this movie and support it!

the final anime discussed was the upcoming code geass ova. i hate to say it but i was trying to write so fast here that i can’t read my own notes. i’ll upload pictures of what i was trying to write and maybe eventually i can decipher my handwriting.

miyu was asked what kind of characters he likes to play and said that his personal favorite role is sora from kingdom hearts. he has played sora for 15 years and wants to continue playing him in the future. he mentioned that in japan, aside from voice acting, he also participates in theatrical productions and releases cds. miyu asks that we come to japan and see him perform on stage and listen to his cds, and please continue to support him in the future.

at this point we were supposed to be able to ask miyu some questions, but there was only time for 3 people to ask questions (which i didn’t write down because i was trying to get in the question line) before the panel had to end. i was fortunate enough to get an autograph ticket for miyu so when i got my todomatsu book signed, i told him i loved osomatsu-san, i hoped he would return to anime expo next year and to please bring the voice actors for the remaining matsuno brothers with him.

Pray for those who cannot pray

There are times in our faith journey, that we can’t bring ourselves to pray.

Some of us suffer from depression and other chronic illnesses that leave us silent in spirit.

Some of us are just experience times of spiritual dryness or doubts.

Some of us are too busy, too distracted, it could be anything.

So if you see this and you can pray a simple prayer, please do it for those who need it and can’t do it for themselves.

Ahhh, Farmer’s Market Solas. The Solas we want, but we don’t have :|

Oranges

Sunday morning dawns, the sky overcast, cotton-candy gray clouds gracing the earth with a light drizzle. The weather is perfect for the mood, she thinks, curled up against the side of a devilishly handsome man, the skin-to-skin contact warming her more than the soft blanket covering them. Lavellan shifts slightly, the curve of her ass brushing against his hip. He rolls to his side, one arm wrapping around her and pulling her flush against him, her back to his chest. He nuzzles the crook of her neck, and she sighs dreamily, the sensation bringing back memories of the night they had spent together, tangled in each other’s limbs.

“Good morning,” his voice rumbles through her, and she can almost hear the smirk.

“Mmmm,” she replies, reaching behind her to stroke his ear from lobe to tip, grinning to herself at the sudden hissed intake of breath.

“You are a wicked, wicked woman,” he mutters into her ear, his teeth capturing the tip, lightly tugging at it, causing an arrow of arousal to shoot straight to her loins.

“Not when compared to you,” her voice breaks on a sigh.

Solas laughs, and lightly kisses the top of her head. “As much as I would like to continue this, I think I should feed you first.”

She moves, and sits up to look at him, the sheets held up by the swell of her breasts. His gaze drops to her chest, and there’s a hunger there that reflects her own. “Well, I am hungry,” she purrs.

His grip on her waist tightens as his eyes darken. For a moment, she’s certain she’s won, but he shuts his eyes and huffs, shaking his head, a rueful smile on his lips. “You really are wicked,” he complains, before shooting her an amused look. “Food first,” he states, and rolls of the bed.

She takes the opportunity to admire his lithe figure, watching how the length of his back roll as he stretches his hands over his head. Though his form is slender, there is strength there, evidenced by the way his muscles are outlined. His ass is perfect, she thinks, tight and firm, blushing as she spots the reddened imprints of her nails. His thighs are a work of art, toned and wiry, and she knows how they feel under her, how they tense and clench as he finds his release, how much power they hold when he thrusts into her.

She’s just had him a few hours ago and yet she wants him again.

She wonders if this is how depravity feels like.

He is at ease with his nakedness, crossing the room to get himself a pair of pajamas. She’s disappointed when he pulls it up, hiding his wonderful posterior from view. He tosses her a robe, the soft cotton almost like sating under her fingers. “The bathroom is that way, if you want to use it,” His smile is warm, genuine. “I will be in the kitchen. Do you have any preferences?”

“Nope. I’m fine with anything.” She really was. He could put the finest food in front of her, and she’d still be more preoccupied with him than anything else.

“Alright.” He looks so delectable, broad-shouldered and statuesque, well-built and strapping. His pants hang low on his waist, showing off the tapered v of his hips. and she wants to pull it down and free his cock and draw it into her mouth…

Solas quirks his brow at her, his eyes knowing, and she flushes. “Breakfast first,” he reminds her, chuckling to himself as he leaves the room. She grumbles under her breath, but she climbs out of the now-cooling bed anyway.

When she enters the kitchen, the scent of citrus is ripe in the air. He is juicing oranges, and she is surprised to see him working an old-fashioned hand juicer. His fingers are wrapped snugly around the halved orange - she knows how those hands feel when they’re on her breasts, his thumb lightly circling her nipples, flicking them to hardness, driving her to distraction - and his biceps stand out in stark relief as he presses the fruit into the reamer.

Emboldened, she walks up to him, and before he can react to her presence, she takes his hand and and brings it up to her mouth, running her tongue over the length of his palm, enjoying the burst of tangerine on her taste buds, then proceeds to wrap her lips around his fingers, one at a time, gently sucking them clean, her cheeks hollowing out with the motion.

He groans, the sound almost feral, and she knows she has driven him past the line. He undoes the knot of her robe, pulling it off in a hurried, jerky motion before lifting and placing her on the granite countertop, the chill of the stone a stark contrast to the heat of his hands. Her hands flail out to brace herself, and she knocks over the juicer, the sweet, tart juice of the fruit spilling over her, coating her with its flavor, perfuming the air.

His lips are on her neck, her shoulders, her jaw; he’s tasting her like  a man dying of thirst. The slickness of her arousal mixes with the liquid orange, and when he delves between her legs and licks up from entrance to clit, the moan he gives is a grateful prayer to the heavens above. She can’t last long; his assault is nothing short of dedicated, and when she topples over the edge, she can feel his tongue lapping at the combined juices coating the inside of her thighs.

She feels sticky; it should be unpleasant, but there’s still heat burning in her core, unfulfilled, and so she ignores it in favor of using her legs to pull him close, trapping him between her legs. He knows what she wants - it is what he wants too, what he needs, and he unsheathes himself, plunging into her depths a heartbeat after, and they cry out in unison, in relief, and when he starts moving she’s breathing in the scent of orange, till it coats her lungs and fills her blood, till she knows that she can never again look at the fruit without thinking of him, of this. He takes her to peak in a chorus of citrus, clean and crisp, and musk, masculine and demanding, their sweat adding hints of bitterness to the medley, and then she goes over, and she can taste it on her tongue as she cries out his name.

They remain as they are for several minutes, each breathing heavily. The scent of mandarin covers them, and in a foggy, blissful post-orgasmic haze, she thinks to herself that she needs more orange trees on her farm.

silent-of-spirit  asked:

"How did you find me?" FenHawke? :DDDDD

She settles down beside him, feet dangling over the dock, palms flat against the ground behind her. She tilts her head back, closes her eyes, and breathes in the sea air. Gentle sails float by the docks, gulls circle in air. Fenris looks up at her sudden presence, in this corner he thought no one knew. “How did you find me?” He asks her. Her eyes open, her head cocks and she gives him a look. He chuckles under his breath, shakes his head. Of course. It’s Hawke. Of course she’d find him.

He sits with his back hunched, his hands in his lap, staring down at them. He plays with the edges of the red around his wrist, the carefully tied knot. She swings her feet, ankle over ankle, and does not press or push. He had left the estate when he had thought no one else would notice, engrossed in food, wine, and talk. Varric had been talking to Sebastian and Anders, while Isabela was arguing with Aveline again. Hawke and Merrill had been laughing together, heads close together.

A curious thing, seeing them all gathered there. Talking about anything that suits their fancy, unafraid to speak their opinions. So relaxed in each other’s company, all the unspoken friendship between them. Danarius would invite his ‘friends’ to his estate sometimes. Speaking of hidden, guarded things, dangerous smiles behind dangerous eyes. For one horrible moment he was back in Tevinter, among those people, a chain around his neck. The illusion had shattered and he was back with his friends… but the damage was done. He had left shortly after.

Hawke doesn’t ask. Whatever had driven him away was his to talk about, not hers to pry. Others would push and prod, demand answers, telling him that talking about it would make it better. Hawke sits beside him, wind in her hair, watching him with a slight albeit worried smile. She is patient, and she waits. He loves her even more for it. She creeps closer to him, shuffling over on the dock, mimicking the way he sits. Shoulder to shoulder, hands in her lap. “Hello,” she says.

“There is something I wished to give you,” he says. “I, ah, never found the right time to give it to you.” Not with Feynriel. Failing her by falling prey to a demon. Not with her mother. He had bought it just before. It had burned in his pocket at the funeral. The shadow passes over her face, leaves as quickly as it had come. He had his ghosts. She had her own.

“So you decided to hide?” She asks with a smile. He laughs softly as she tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear. He draws the small box from his belt, presents it to her. She takes it hesitantly, the question appearing on her brow. She opens it with careful fingers, eyes widening when she sees what’s inside. A chain of gold, a jewel of red.

“Fenris, I – I can’t accept this. This must have cost you so much coin, I –” She’s closing the lid, attempting to give it back to him. He pushes her hand away, shakes his head.

“Please, Hawke. Take it,” he says. She looks at him for a moment, searching his face for any sign of doubt, before slowly nodding and pressing the box against her chest.

“Thank you,” she says. “It’s beautiful.”

“I am glad you like it.” He had read it in one of the books she had given him. It had taken weeks for him to struggle through even a few pages. One thing was clear. You gave gifts to those you loved. She holds the box tightly, rests her head on his shoulder. When she arrives at the mansion to collect him for an errand the next day, she is wearing the necklace. And the next day, and the day after that. And after that, and after that.

5. hands on the other person’s back, fingertips pressing under their top, drawing gentle circles against that small strip of bare skin that make them break the kiss with a gasp - Ohhhhmygod I need this with Solas and Iwyn and Figure Skating AU so baddd plllllllssssss omgggggggg

Thank you @silent-of-spirit! Here is some Iwyn and Solas kissing before a competition. It didn’t quite turn out the way I like it, but it will do.

For @dadrunkwriting and also tagging @tel-abelas-mofo per your interests.

Crave

5th of Firstfall, 16:87 Flight. Coupe de Lydes.

Iwyn is jogging in the hallway, keeping warm. They are done with their off-ice warmup and are just waiting, while the ice is redone after the men’s practice. She sees Branwen in the weight room, doing stretches, earbuds in. Some of the other couples are there too. Iwyn turns around and jogs back again. They are in the lead position after the short dance, and they have a practice this morning, then skating this evening.

She sees Solas walking down the hall, towards her.

“There you are.“ She smiles and slows.

“Sorry, I was meeting someone. I trust you and your brother are ready?”

“All warmed up. Who did you meet?” Iwyn reaches for him, but she stops the motion half way, her hand suspended in the air before it falls to her side.

“Abelas. He runs the Arlathan Federation’s High Performance program. He wanted – I am not sure. I think her wanted me to come back up there to coach.”  Solas frowns.

“You think?” Iwyn tilts her head and holds his gaze.

“He was vague.” Solas turns his hand in an upward gesture. “It doesn’t matter. I am not going to move, and he knows it. Do not worry. You need to focus on today’s competition.”

This time she can’t help herself, and she places her hand on top of his. It is warm and dry, and she loves the feel of his palm under her fingertips.

“Iwyn…” Solas glances behind him, and to the side. He doesn’t remove his hand.

She laces her fingers through his hand, and quickly pulls him forward, towards her. She steps backwards, and before he can react they are in a doorway, halfway in dark room, unused for the competition. She hadn’t seen anyone here, it was as empty as she had hoped.

She lets go of his hand, and immediately slides her hands down his chest, the sides of his torso, resting at the top of his hipbones.

“A kiss for luck?”

“You’re impossible.”

Solas smiles and leans down to capture her lips. She moves closer and grips the fabric of his shirt. Runs her tongue over his lower lip until he opens his mouth, and then he presses forward, pushing into her.

She slides her hands under his shirt, rubbing circles on his skin, while their tongues stroke each other. Solas hands move down her back, and cups her ass. Almost lifting her. He gasps and let go when her fingers dip under the waistband of his trousers.

He breathes deep, fast, and leans his forehead against hers. She can feel him, pressed against her.

Vhenan.” It comes out almost as whine.

“I know.” This seemed like a good idea, but she needs a moment to find her center again. “The ice should be ready soon.“ She doesn’t move though, and continues to trace little circles over his hipbones.

“Are you ready?”

“I am still warmed up, it that is what you ask. We better get going.” She takes a step back and sighs, “I mean to continue this later.“ She is drawn to him, her need for him a constant craving.

Solas shakes his head. “We - “ She puts a finger on his lips.

“Solas.” She kisses his nose, then she steps out of the room, pulling him behind her.

He follows, and she lets go of his hands.

“Let’s go find Branwen and win this.”

He doesn’t have anything to say to that, and she fully thinks of the practice, the competition. Solas is at her back; and no matter what he thinks, there is always later.

Ahhh! Thank you so much! You are too sweet and kind <3 @ravenshadows08 asked for this prompt as well! I hope you enjoy! Also you should definitely check out this picture by @fawxdraws

There’s a plant on her windowsill. A small green thing, the flowers only just beginning to grow. The window is open slightly, letting in a cool breeze. It moves the sheer fabric of the curtains, shines brightly on the plant. She sits up in the tub, pulls back wet hair with her hands, rubs her eyes. Her lotions and the like litter the floor beside the tub, different vials and delicate glass. They all smell the same. She knows the plant is lavender, the same scent. She crosses her arms over the tub, leans against it. Hawke smiles as her chin rests on her wrists.

There are birds chirping outside. Distantly, she can hear the buzz of the streets below. She hears better the opening of her estate door and his voice calling upwards. “Hawke?”

“Up here,” she yells back, leans back into the tub. It takes only the barest flick of her hand to heat the water up again, a delicate warmth. She sinks down into it, closes her eyes as the water laps around her chest. Quiet footsteps up the stairs. The gentle pad of his feet against wood as they make their way to the door. The slow creak as it opens, and he leans in the doorframe. She pulls her legs to her chest, wraps her arms around them. She rests her head on her knees, smiles at him.

“How did it go?” She asks. He shrugs his shoulders.

“No trouble. One sight of us and they ran. Aveline was quite pleased. The guards she had placed were waiting for them,” he tells her. Hawke breathes out laughter, reaches out a hand towards him. He closes the distance between them, his fingertips touching hers. He lets his hand be wrapped up hers as he kneels down. She shifts, legs stretching, toes touching the other end of the tub.

“I’m glad you’re alright,” she says. Fenris watches a water drop fall from her temple to her brow, gently reaches out and wipes it away. “Did you buy that?” Her other arm raises out of the water to point at the plant. The tips of his ears turn red immediately.

“If you do not like it, I can –”

“Fenris,” she says, “I love it.” It’s a sign, a comfort, reassurance that he wants to be here. It’s the same as the sword oil that sits on the counter. The extra clothes in the closet. The vase filled with daffodils on the kitchen table. He’s made his choice and his choice is to be with her. Seeing his things slowly appear in the estate fills her chest with a warmth the water cannot match.

She beams a smile at him as she opens her arms, “join me.” The smile quirks around the edges of his lips. She laughs as he stands quickly, bracing himself on the tub, and dives in without hesitation. Water spills over the edges, pools around those bottles. She’s still laughing as he kisses the curve of her jaw, the tip of her nose. His clothes stick to him, wet as much as he is.

She reaches up, takes his face in her hands, and pulls him closer. He lets his weight fall carefully over her, his arms wrapping around her. “Welcome home,” she says, tilting her face and closing her eyes. There’s the faintest taste of apples on his tongue. After the long kiss, he plants a smaller one. And then, to her forehead. Making sure she knows every bit of her is loved.

“Shh,” he ordered, leaning forward over his desk to cover her mouth. Surana’s eyes widened, suddenly very aware of her position. A/N: it’s been so hot these past few days that this request was perfect and i had a lot of inspiration for it!! enjoy my lovelies!!xo

“No, nuh-uh, don’t even think about it.” You lightly shove Jack away as he approaches you, narrowing your eyes at him and shaking your head. “It’s too hot for cuddles.”

Jutting out his bottom lip, the freshly bleached blonde huffs and looks down at your bikini-clad body, unable to help the smirk that tugged at the corners of his lips. You’d woken up at seven am, with sweat dripping down your nose and a horrible layer of old sweat all over your body. Turned out, it was due to be one of the hottest days of the year, and seeing as you were clueless that previous night, you decided to sleep in your thickest pajamas.

You had a shower, a lot cooler than you usually had, before going on to spent a good twenty minutes simply sat on your bed in just a towel, dreading the thought of having to get dressed. But after ten more minutes, you finally said ‘fuck it’ and put on one of your skimpiest bikinis before putting your hair up into a messy bun and praying that the heat wouldn’t get any worse.

And now, after drinking a glass of freezing cold lemonade which you determined your breakfast, you were walking around the apartment and trying to get things done, even though all you felt like doing was driving to a beach and spending the day in the sea.

You were never one to deny hugs, and the slight shock on Jack’s face that only lasted a few seconds, proved that. A few months previous, you’d been given the label as 'most cuddly’ in the whole group, and yet here you were, denying any form of physical contact in a bid to stay as cool as possible.

“You were loving the heat when we were in Malaga a few weeks ago!” He laughs, leaning against the breakfast bar as you roll your eyes and take another sip of your icy drink. Putting the glass down, you walk over to him and rest your hands on his cheeks, pulling him down and kissing him softly, rubbing your nose against his once you’d pulled away, before kissing him quickly once more and pulling away.

You smile at him fondly and turn around to grab your phone, a loud squeal falling from your lips as he slaps your ass from behind. You glance over your shoulder and glare at him, though the cocky smirk on his face causes you to crack a smile.

It only took a few minutes, half an hour at most, for you to grow so frustrated with the heat that performing even a menial task became virtually impossible. You groan loudly, shoving your laptop away and standing up, adjusting your bikini top and walking through the apartment and into the bedroom, where Jack was changing his shirt.

“We’re filling the paddling pool up.” You inform him, walking pat him into the walk in closet and pulling out the rubber inflatable children’s paddling pool that you’d bought the year before for your niece to use whilst she visited.

You tug it out of its place scrunched up, and smile happily, though at the thought of having to actually blow the thing up began to dawn on you and you felt your face drop.

Pressing your lips together, you chew on the inside of your cheek and peek out of the door at Jack, who was already looking in your directions with an amused smile and his eyebrows raised.

“Can you blow this up for me?” You ask pleadingly, walking out of the closet and dropping the scrunched up inflatable down onto the floor with a childish pout.

He agrees with a laugh, and you grin widely at him before following him out onto the balcony and trying to pretend like the wintering sun wasn’t bothering you as much as it truly was.

After no time, the mini pool was inflated and sat on the balcony, leaving you and Jack to stare at it dreamily for a while before having a small discussion on how was best to fill it up. You didn’t have many options, it was a choice of either the bucket under the sink or the hose that attached to the tap; which neither of you had ever even attempted to use before.

Deciding that the bucket was bound to be less stressful, you then proceeded to spent the next twenty minutes running through the apartment with buckets of freezing cold water to fill up the pool.

Running back and forth made you feel even more hot and sticky and gross, and so when the pool was finally full, you sighed in relief and silently thanked the spirits for being on your side in that moment.

You get in, and even though the freezing cold water startled you at first, as you sunk further into the water, tingles made their way up your spine and finally, after a whole morning of incessant struggling, you were finally cool.

Even though the sun continued to beam down onto your face, the cold water that submerged your body made the warmth feel so much better.

Jack walked onto the balcony, a smirk on his face as he looked down at your relieved expression, unable to stop the chuckle that fell from between his lips. You rolled your eyes, but held your hand out in invitation nonetheless.

He nudges your hand away and takes off his shoes before glancing over the balcony for a second or so before turning around and stepping into the water, scrunching up his face at the cold water. You laugh up at him, using your hand to shield your face from the sun, watching as he sheepishly sits down in the water, crossing his legs beneath him and looking you in the eyes with a cheeky grin.

After you’d cooled down completely and no longer felt sticky at all, you smirked to yourself as you looked over at Jack, who was leaning his head back and had his eyes closed beneath his sunglasses.

You reach over to grab the plastic water gun that had been discarded with after a video that Jack filmed a few months earlier, praying that there wouldn’t be any cobwebs or spiders attached to it. Luckily there weren’t, and you managed to fill it up with water from the pool without Jack opening his eyes and catching you in the act.

You lean back and spray him in the face, chasing him to jump and loose his sunglasses in the water. He opens his eyes and glares at you, before a smirk grows on his lips and he launches himself at you, splashing water into your face and proceeding to wrestle you in the water.

You didn’t think about what your neighbours would be thinking as you both laugh and scream loudly, rolling around in the water for a good five minutes, until you paused above Jack, your chest resting on his, your heart racing as you stared into his eyes and pushed the wet hair out of his face with your hand.

The moment felt frozen in time, and you leaned forward and pressed your lips together, moaning softly against his mouth as he pulled you flush against his body and fiddled with the stings on the back of your bikini top until it fell free, giving your neighbors yet another thing to wonder about.

I saw your tags. I see you. Romanced Krem reacting to finding out the Inquisitor is pregnant before the final battle <3

AHAHAHAHA YEEEESSSSSS

I’ll do a general reaction and then a longer version of Krem and my Quizzie for @dadrunkwriting

When Krem finds out, he’s pretty confused. There was never anything ‘official’ between them, so he couldn’t be upset exactly, but still….Once he’s gotten over the initial shock of the thing, he dives into a flurry of sewing. He makes a Chargers themed onesie, an army of tiny stuffed toys, and a little hat with bull horns and presents them all to the Inquisitor proudly. He nearly faints when the Inquisitor squeals over them and tells him what a good daddy he’ll make, and can’t get over being called ‘dad’. During battle, he’s on constant guard, never leaving the Inquisitor’s side for a moment, checking on them whenever there’s a lull in the fighting.

Krem stared down at Ellana’s stomach, already beginning to swell with the life budding within her, a look of abject confusion on his face. “What…” he spread his hands and gestured at her stomach. “What kind of magic bullshit…?”

Violet eyes rolled to the ceiling and she heaved an exasperated sigh. “Really, Krem?” asked Ellana, slapping at his arm playfully. “We’ve been talking about finding a donor for months!”

“I just didn’t expect it to…to work right away? Wow…” He ran a gentle hand over the tiny bump that sat low on her stomach with hesitant reverence. “You’re gonna be a mum, El…”

She smiled and cupped her hand over his. “And you’re going to be a daddy.”

A choked noise made its way out of his throat. “Maker…Sweet Maker, you’re right,” he laughed, awestruck. He raked a hand through his hair, a bit nervous now. “Wow…SHIT!”

“What?!” Ellana exclaimed.

“I have to tell the Chief!” he cried, seizing her shoulders and kissing her full on the lips before bolting out to the tavern.

Lesson 16: Graveyards in Witchcraft - Part 2

By: Mama Bones

Live class date and time: 1/31/2017 at 4pm CST

A.) Legalities: I am ever the paralegal, so I’m going to include this section again. It will be similar to my last class, but I don’t want it to be overlooked or forgotten. Again, the graveyard I mainly work with borders my 3 acre property directly and is not regularly maintained. This allows to me to fudge some rules. HOWEVER- let me lay some groundwork legality clauses for the general witch:
1.) Do not enter after dark. It is illegal in most states.
2.) Do not bring glass into the cemetery
3.) Do not light more than a tea/small votive/prayer candle and always hold the tea candle yourself (do not set on ground)
4.) It’s best to not disclosure your craft to anyone asking what you’re doing. Just say you’re visiting (and wanted to honor your relative’s memory if a candle is lit)

5.) ALWAYS do as an employee/pastor/policeman asks. Even if it may be technically legal and they’re just uncomfortable, it’s better to de-escalate the situation and leave. You can either come back at a different time or find a different graveyard.

6.) Bring flowers to appear more normal! They also make great offerings!
7.) Do not remove ANYTHING from a gravestone site. Ever. However, do feel free to dispose of obvious trash about the graveyard as a whole (soda cans, food wrappers, cigarette butts, etc.). It’s polite and the spirits will respect you for it.

I begin by making sure I’m dressed appropriately for the weather. I like to spend at least an hour there, assuming I’m not interrupted and it’s important I don’t get too hot or too cold.

I frequently bring a light jacket/hoodie in summer regardless though, because spirit work can bring down your temperature sensation in general regardless of the normal ambient degrees outside (i.e. communing with spirits makes you chilly).

I make sure I have all the supplies I’ll need.

I have a small messenger bag/purse I bring. I don’t recommend anything larger. Don’t bring a huge backpack- it’s suspicious. This items include:

1.) My ritual/communing jewelry (including protective jewelry so I don’t get overwhelmed- protection is still important even when actively seeking out spirits)
2.) My offerings (I like honey packets, pomegranate seeds, flowers, or a particular incense/oil blend I use for spirit work.)

3.) A book (I love to read to spirits, especially the children)
4.) My graveyard pad/blanket (I’ll be doing a tutorial on this soon, but basically it’s a small thicker blanket with discreet sigils and herbs sewn in to protect me and boost spirit communication. Protects my tush from the ground and my body from the spirits).

5.) Water bottle (talking and reading makes me thirsty)

6.) Comfy shoes that are easy to slip on and off (you don’t have to take your shoes off at all for spirit work, but I like to as a sign of respect- like taking your shoes off when you go into a friends house. I only do it on my graveyard pad though- not at the entrance or anything)

7.) My phone- not only for basic communicating in case of emergency, but also because I like to play music for the spirits sometimes. I make sure the songs I want to play are easily accessible.

I also make sure Zoe is ready, as I almost always bring her with me. She is leashed, although I tend not to hold it since she’s well-trained in recall.

Note: Though I don’t recommend bringing pets unless you’re experienced with both spirits and your pet, I will say if you do bring a dog always have your dog on a leash in a graveyard and don’t let go unless you are alone and you are 100% confident in their recall/non-running away. Keep in mind Zoe is my familiar of 5 years and is comfortable with my graveyard work. She is not skittish in the interactions and is not rude to the spirits.

When I first enter the graveyard, my first check is if anyone is there.

Without Privacy: If someone is already in the graveyard, I will do a basic walk around the paths and graves (with Zoe leashed beside me) and do mental check-ins and communication. I may drop pomegranate seeds subtly, but I usually do not do any other offerings while other people are present. In my experience, the spirits understand and know I will bring something next time or wait for the person to leave and give my offerings then.

I will then find a spot to put down my graveyard pad (which just look like a smaller picnic blanket to the average eye). I have a favorite/regular spot in the graveyard by me. I am comfortable doing this even if other visitors are still there, as the spot I sit down isn’t directly atop a grave or anything. It’s a clearing under a tree. I’ll take my book out so I look like I’m just having a nice private read in the graveyard and not offending anyone. At this point, I’ll just read silently/mentally to the spirits (I let them look over my shoulder too if there’s pictures) if visitors do not leave. That’ll be the extent of what I do without privacy.

With Privacy: If the graveyard is empty, my visit is a bit different. I still walk around the path/graves first. This time however, I will verbally greet those I know, leave more substantial offerings and check for new spirits who would like to introduce themselves. I ignore ones that are being rude (they don’t try for long with me with my combo of already friendly spirits and Zoe backing me up). Zoe is loose during this and she does her own initial sweep of the gravestones, having different favorites than me.

After I greet and give the “presents” (offerings) I have, then I settle on my graveyard pad. I still have it under the tree. For a couple reasons. It’s polite, doesn’t show favoritism, and is easier to play off if a visitor does show up in the midst of my communing. Zoe usually settles down near me eventually, but frequently she does more checking around while I start the “activities” (she likes to check the graveyard border for energy and critter issues).

If there’s particular ritual work I have planned for this trip, I do that first. This includes, but is not limited to:
1.) Ritually appointing new spirits for workings/property protection

2.) Doing an Underworld astral travel with some of the spirits

3.) Doing a devotional for Hades, Persephone, or Styx.

After that, it’s time for the bonding/fun activities! I break out the book and phone. I usually start with the book while the spirits are still more “focused” (their attention span is not great in my experience). I will do either a picture/children’s book or a chapter of a more all-ages book that we’ve been working through. I don’t bring anything too complex or “dry” (i.e. boring) as they lose interest quickly. Some titles I’ve found they enjoy:
1.) The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman- yup, spirits love irony

           2.) Anything by Roald Dahl
3.) Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (or other silly yet ghost-y stories)- yup, they find them hilarious. I avoid darker scary/ghost stories since I work with a lot of young and child spirits. They don’t like things that are too dark.
4.) The Velveteen Rabbit (this is a favorite of mine too)

Then the music is broken out. I have no specific suggestions on this- it’s entirely personal to what you think will please your particular ghosties. I do a wide variety. Usually during this, the spirits will tell me things they think I need to hear or talk about something that bothers them. Zoe frequently romps around with the younger spirits at this point too. Sometimes I bring a ball or frisbee to amuse her and the children.

Then I just clean everything up, making sure I’m not leaving anything behind I don’t intend to. I’ll sort of meander my way out of the graveyard slowly and give the shyer spirits a chance to ask me something quietly/alone that they were unsure of during the more group communing.

Once I get home, I run a hot shower or bath with cleansing herbs/oil and give myself a thorough cleaning, asking for Styx’s blessing in making sure no shade residue/miasma remains on me or in my house.

Then I eat. It’s important to consume something of nutritional value after doing spirit work.

Any questions?

For @dadrunkwriting! Thank you both to @aurianavaloria and @silent-of-spirit for the prompt. This is more of an AU based around the entirety of this particular prompt list, so I hope you don’t mind ^_^

Romantic Royalty Starters

“…I will fight for you, Lady Lavellan,” Cullen said, turning his amber gaze to her chocolate one. “I will always fight for you,” he added, before letting out a soft hiss when she pressed an alcohol-soaked rag to the wound in his side.

“Yes, as you have told me many times over.” She offered him a slight smile, but the warmth did not reach her eyes. Concern and panic still arrested most of her features.

“It will be fine,” he tried to assure her. “I’ve fared worse.”

“I know…Still, you should allow me to worry about you a little.”

He laughed a little bit, wincing when she dabbed at his wound once more. “I deeply appreciate it, my lady,” he murmured, reaching out to twine his fingers with hers.

She paused a moment, her gaze transfixed on their hands. Though they had exchanged many sweet words and tender glances when they passed each other in the halls of the Lavellan estate, they had never been so physically close as they were in this moment.

Enansal lifted Cullen’s calloused fingers to her lips, brushing a chaste kiss to his knuckles. “Thank you for insisting to escort me. Truly. If you hadn’t been there with me…Well, I shudder to think where I might have been spirited off to.”

“Of course. Though I daresay my men and I would have gotten quite the lecture if any of us had allowed you to leave the estate on your own.”

“I suspect so…My father has always worried about my sisters and me…” She finally pulled her hand free of Cullen’s grasp, and resumed her work of tending to his injury.

Once he was bandaged up, Enansal helped Cullen sit up. She reached over and held up his shirt, still torn and bloody from the encounter they had had with the bandits.

“Well…This has seen better days.”

Cullen laughed a bit, taking it from her. “Well, this is at least replaceable,” he said as he slipped it over his head. “You, however, are not.”

“Neither are you! I’m just glad that sword landed where it did. The one day you’re not wearing armor…”

He smiled a little at her, and leaned down to plant a kiss on her cheek, which caused her to clamp her mouth shut and her cheeks to warm considerably.

“Thank you for worrying, my lady.”

Enansal looked up at him with wide eyes, and nodded absently.

“I should return to my normal patrols, now. I shall see you later.”

“Of course…”

Another kiss - this one upon her brow - another smile, before Cullen walked out of the room, grabbing up his sword along the way.

Enansal slowly sank back into the chair she had previously been occupying, and held her hand to her cheek, still warm from embarrassment and Cullen’s lips.
