If you’re reading this I want you to know that you are not the first boy that I have ever loved and you will not be the last. But I think so far you have been the best and the most significant.
If you’re reading this I want you to know how much my world changed since that chance encounter of meeting you. You were like a natural disaster blowing me around the inside of my own chest and out the open door.
If you’re reading this I want you to know that my mind is suddenly blooming like the most well-groomed garden of flowers you ever saw and it’s all because the watering can was all of a sudden overflowing with your name.
I do not say it out loud. I’ve learnt to keep my lips together for the shy boys.
If you’re reading this I want you to know that you called me home. And with perfect timing the world becomes safe and stable and I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
If you’re reading this I want you to know that the things you said they hurt me. And you can’t blame me for being so hopeful. After all, revolutions are built on hope.
But the revolution it is not in your fingertips like I thought. It is in the purity and the honesty with which I communicate concepts like Love. Even if you do not want to hear it.
If you’re reading this I want you to know that you weakened me at the knees but I’ve found my feet now and I’m hurtling along the runway to my dreams and I don’t apologise for the poetry.
