Almost everyday, on my way to the animation studio I pass through the famous Yasukuni shrine. One of the reasons why the shrine in well known are the sakura trees in the inner garden. In autumn, the leaves turn orange and golden-green. One morning I had some minutes to spare so I took few photos near the entrance gate.
I tried to paint it in watercolors with just a little help from white paint for the details and pencil for the light, initial sketch. The ultimate goal was to show the lighting as it was on the warm autumn morning.
