show wounds

anonymous asked:

While they are fighting the lost boys in neverland, it is Regina who gets caught by the arrow with dream shade instead of David....

Thanks for the prompt :)

“What does this mean?” Emma asks, her voice breaking slightly as she looks up at Regina. She’s stayed silent as Regina showed her the arrow wound and the tell tale map of scars, the undeniable proof of dream shade slowly killing her,

Regina frowns sadly as she looks at the woman she’s slowly fallen in love with, of a woman she’s dreamt of a future with…a future that they can never have, “You know what it means.”

Emma shakes her head moving to sit on the log next to Regina. She cups Regina’s cheeks in her hands before kissing her pleadingly, “It’s not fair…we’ll find a way….Henry…”

“Has to leave this island,” Regina tells her, “And I have to stay…” tears fill her eyes at this thought and she leans into Emma’s comforting touch, “He’ll have you…and you’re going to be great Emma…you’ll be okay…both of you….you can go home.”

“No,” Emma insists, “We will fight this…and we will find a cure.”

Emma shakes her head once more as she looks Regina in the eyes and replies, “It’s not home without you there.”

What… am… I?

The beast towered over me, perched on its clawed toes, its twisted and ugly flesh covered in layers of sharp, smooth black carapace. It looked oily. Monstrous. It had horns on its head and beady, glowing eyes that bore into mine and seemed so familiar. As familiar as a mirror.

BU Universe/Love Yourself Jimin Theory

And another one! Today we’ve gotten Love Yourself Highlight Reel 3, “轉”

Mature content ahoy. Landlubbers beware.

-part 1 located here-

This will only be for Jimin. I’m splitting him off because it appears he is not connected to YoonKook anymore. I’ll splice them back together if that changes.

My current working theory is that friendship is not enough to validate Jimin internally and he has romantically latched onto J-hope due to proximity, but J-hope is straight, so Jimin is imagining an alter ego of himself as a girl and what could’ve been if he had been born female. When he falls while dancing his mind splits off into a fantasy and he imagines the girl falling at the same time.

The legs during the running scene are clearly not of a person who is carrying somebody on their back. Furthermore, we can conclude that they are Jimin’s legs and not J-hope’s because they are wearing Jimin’s shoes.

Jimin’s reality: He fell while dancing and popped his stitches and distressedly kept trying to wash the blood off. Jimin’s imagination: J-hope carried his alter ego heroically to get help. The scene of J-hope running is played against Jimin running, then stopping and turning around to walk back the other way, as if he started rushing somewhere on impulse and then changed his mind about it and turned back. He may have been running to J-hope but then changed his mind.

Some clarification about Jimin’s suicide attempt because people still seem confused. Skip this paragraph if that squicks you out. He turned only the hot water on because when you slit your wrists in the tub the point is to bleed out as fast as possible, so you want the water as hot as possible (please don’t try this at home, suicide is not the answer to your problems). The water turns a murky white to symbolize his blood mixing with it; they didn’t make it red because that would be too provocative. He was shivering after getting out of that super hot bath because he lost a bunch of blood. They showed red water in the sink this time but they’re still not showing his cut wound because that would be too provocative. It’s there in spirit, you just have to use your imagination a bit.

Quick update on HR2, a wild Jungkook appears!? Credits to kookminworld0507 senpai for noticing.

He’s wearing the same clothes as Jimin and sitting in the same spot.  This could have some wonky implications for what’s going on with Jimin that I can’t quite figure out right now, any additional insight would be greatly welcomed!

I’m not averse to the alternate theory that Jimin and Jungkook have started something romantic, but it doesn’t seem as plausible right now with the info we have.

Will update with the next release!

An autopsy photograph showing multiple flesh wounds caused by a shotgun blast. Unlike other firearms, shotgun shells usually contain multiple small projectiles that expand and spread after the gun has been fired; when flesh contact is made, the projectiles leave multiple, pitted holes rather than a single deep entry wound.

Twenty things I’ve learned in Twenty Years

1. Life will break you down until you’re crawling on your hands and knees, until you feel like you are Atlas holding the world upon your shoulders, until you feel like the raging inferno inside of your chest is going to combust. These are the moments that will forge you in a fire and make you more unbreakable than diamonds.

2. We are made of stardust, at least that’s what they say. I remember someone told me that every atom in my body once belonged to a star that exploded. At night I stare at my hands and wonder when I will erupt. I know now that I cannot trust anyone else to keep me whole in the darkest hours of the night but my own two star infused arms.

3. You will fall in love, and that is okay. Sometimes we need to fall in love to remember that there is good out there. Fall in love with the boy who opens the door for you, fall in love with your boss who works too hard, fall in love with the woman who hands out roses on that one street corner, fall in love with yourself.

4. They weren’t lying when they said we accept the love we think we deserve. I grew up being told I was a mistake and so I adopted the idea that no one could ever love a mistake. I was wrong (they were wrong) and now it’s up to me to prove them wrong. Don’t believe the things they said, you are so much more than the toxins they tried to poison you with.

5. Close your eyes, count to ten, and open them again. You are not alone. I know it may feel like you are the only one, but believe me when I say that you aren’t. I was where you are, and now I have talked to more people that have been through much worse than I than I would like to admit to. You are never alone, not really.

6. Music can save. Play it as loud as you can with the windows down as you drive (probably a little too fast). Play it while you are at work and while you are in the shower and play it when you want to give up in the middle of the day and when you want to give up in the middle of the night. Just play the music that tugs at your heartstrings, it may save you.

7. Nothing in life is easy, not really. You will catch a few breaks here and there, but the rest of the time you will find yourself fighting tooth and nail to make it back to the top. Don’t give up, I almost did this year and if I had I wouldn’t be able to witness what the sun looks like shining in her eyes.

8. You will have scars, and that’s fine. We all have them but it’s up to you if you want to hide them or show your battle wounds to the world so they know how strong of a warrior you are, so they know not to fuck with you.

9. Watch the sunrise, and watch the sunset. There is something about the sun that screams life; let the light bleed into you and consume you until you shine with it. Sometimes it’s the simple things we are missing in life that we need the most.

10. They will say they love you and then they will turn around and break your heart. You cannot compare your life’s worth to the empty spaces that were once filled around you. People will leave (willing or not) and life will go on. Let life go on.

11. If you are under the impression you are broken, then it is up to you to decide if you are or not. It took me years to admit that I was never quite whole, but when I did it was the most freeing feeling ever. Brokenness does not take away from perfection, and you are the very definition of perfect.

12. It’s okay to let people in, you don’t need to cage yourself away from the rest of the world, don’t forget to live your life while you pursue safeness.

13. Hobbies will save you when all else fails you, find a hobby and stick to it. When the world feels all too loud, a hobby can make you go deaf.

14. The moment you realize Wonder Woman or any other superhero you idolized as a child is not going to swoop down and save you is when your life changes. You have to be your own hero in this world. Stop waiting for someone to save you and go save yourself.

15. They are gone, she took her own life and he died in a car crash and she died from cancer and he left. You cannot live your life counting how many people that held a piece of your heart vanished, I’m not saying to forget about them I’m just saying that it’s okay to say goodbye.

16. It’s okay to cry; cry in the shower and in bed and in your car, being sad is okay as long as you don’t let it consume you.

17. Smile as much as you can even on the bad days.

18. For God’s sake, don’t let them ruin you. You are so strong, you’ve made it this far and that means you can make it another day. If you can get through today you can get through tomorrow and every day that follows. If you feel like you can’t get through the day then sit down and don’t move until the light is peaking in through your window.

19. Never say never. If you think you can’t do something try anyway, this is your life, you are the main character of your own story, but you are also the author of your story. Write it however you want, but don’t give up halfway through.

20. Just don’t take your life. While this is something I learned this year I’m also writing this as a reminder to myself and to you. Don’t do it, please. There can be more to life than what you are feeling right now, don’t rob yourself of the beauty of this world. Don’t give up, no matter how much it hurts.
—  An open letter to myself, and to you. (Sometimes I write until I run out of words) ALightLitInTheDark

Old soul, your wounds they show . I know, you have never felt so low
But hold on, head up, be strong . Oh, hold on
Hold on until you hear them come . Here they come oh

Take an angel by the wings . Beg her now for anything
Beg her now for one more day . Take an angel by the wings
Time to tell her everything . Ask her for the strength to stay

Transition Scenes Are Important

So important.

Why are they so important? I’m glad you asked.

“Transition chapters” or “transition scenes” are what I call those in-between times in the story. The parts that are in between the big Plot Points, in between the scenes that have lots of action and conflict.
You know the ones I’m talking about–nothing is really happening, because your character has returned home for the day and is making dinner before going to sleep. Or they’re working their day job before they can put on the mask and go be a superhero.

These scenes are important to include for a few reasons!

They show your character being human. Sometimes it’s easy to let our OCs get overpowered, or to let them be go-go-going all the time. If you show them collapsing into bed tired, or you show them nursing wounds after a fight, it humanizes them. These scenes remind your reader, “Hey, these aren’t infallible, 2D characters. These are people, that you should care about.”

Pacing. If your story is all plot all the time, things can (and probably will) end up feeling really rushed. I know you’re excited about your story, but take a moment to sit back and let the story really draw itself out. Let things unfold slowly, instead of rushing ahead madly.
I am guilty of rushing ahead madly, and am warning you from experience instead of from superiority: your story will be better if you remember to include a few down-time, transitionary scenes.

These scenes allow your reader a chance to breathe and relax. When you, the writer, take a step back, you are providing an opportunity for your character to recover from whatever hell you just put them through. And while this is important, it allows your readers to relax, too! They will sit back, let out a deep breath they hadn’t realized they were holding, and when they get to the end of the transition scene? They will be ready to dive right in again.

Including these scenes will boost word count, too. Whether you’re doing NaNoWriMo, trying to flesh out your story and bump that count up, or anything else, the equation is simple. More scenes = high word count. And when you’re running out of high-action, high-conflict scenes, adding in some transition scenes can balance the scales.

They include scenes for your characters to interact when there’s not super high stakes. High stakes are great, but some of the best characterization happen in the down times. I wrote a chapter once where my characters were resting after traveling, and I ended up writing a chapter full of puns (excerpt here). I never would’ve written that fun scene without taking a moment to pause and include a transition chapter.

So they might suck to write sometimes, but these transition chapters/scenes are really important! Consider going back through your work and looking for places to add them in; I know I sure had to.

If there’s ever something you want to see me post about, you want to ask me about my writing, you want to ask me for help with one of your own writing problems, or you just want to say hi, feel free to send in an ask! I’d love to hear from you.

Autopsy photograph showing a bullet entry wound surrounded by a reddish muzzle stamp, or “ring abrasion”.

When a gun is fired from close range, gas forcefully enters the upper skin layers and pushes back out towards the muzzle, rupturing the cells around the bullet wound. Often this leaves a clear imprint - or stamp - that can help investigators determine the position of the shooter, the trajectory of the bullet, and the calibre of the gun.

Architypes in Astrology II

So I spent some time writing up the second half of this blog, only to have the entire thing disappear when I went to schedule the post. Hopefully I do not miss much of what I had written, and I apologize if I do because there was some insightful stuff there. That being said, on with the lesson…

Every chart holds 12 houses in astrology, and each house outlines an area of progress in the life of the protagonist (the protagonist in the case of examining your own natal chart being you). The bottom half of the chart (houses 1-6) represent the self and the inner world (or soul). The top half of the chart (houses 7-12) represent the outer world or other (or the collective). Now let us peer into the journey of the natal chart by examining the architypes of the houses.

The Houses

The first house represents self-actualization. In the journey of life, it is here we begin to develop and discover our personalities through action. The sign governing this house is known as the rising sign, and it is the veil through which we express our planets. It is the physical body; one’s approach to life; discovering one’s individual way; and the natural persona that is seen by others.

The second house is where we begin to determine what is valued through tangible things, and the truth of how these effect our sense of self-value. It is resources; values; material security; possessions; the experience of nature and connection to the earth; sensual enjoyment of material things; productivity and expenditure; self-confidence or lack of; and proving one’s self (or proving one’s value).

The third house represents the stage where through our questionings, we are able to gain understanding of the relationships between things, as well as our relationship to these things. It is the rational mind; the exchange of information; all forms of language and communication; learning; shock; the unexpected; improvisation; and reaction.

The fourth house is where we find our sense of emotional security that comes from our deep inner-self. It is our inner world; the home; one’s personal roots; family and emotional security; the private; the need for domestic tranquility; the experience of community; radical commitment; and traditionally represents the mother.

The fifth house is our need to creatively express who we are (our ego) to the world. It is all forms of creativity and self-expression; the projection of self onto the stage of life; the sense of identity; energy expenditure and vitality; the need for pleasure; play; love affairs; courtship; traditionaly represents children; and performance.

The sixth house is where we begin to analyse the self in order to heal existing wounds. It is through healing we learn self love, and are able to express the ultimate versions of ourselves. To be our best for others, we must first become the best ourselves. Before we can love others, we must learn to love ourselves. This is the last house transitioning from the self to the other, from the inner to the outer. It is the developement of efficiency and proficiency through engaging the practical; material challenges posed by the world; the refinement of self-expression; duties and skills; mentoring and being mentored; the urge to be competent; helpfulness; everyday work; habbits and hobbies; and self-sufficiency.

The seventh house is our first experience with the other and the outer world. It is our first taste of seeing ourselves reflected by another. It is all forms of close relationships; coming to awareness through others; intamicy; commitment; relationships based on equality; negotiation; and compromise.

The eighth house is where we experience deep union with others. If thinking in terms of romance, it is the phase of the relationship in which the honeymoon is over and the deep, dark truths of the other, and in extension the self, are revealed. It is through these revelations that we experience the beauty of transformation. It is all forms of union: emotional, sexual, financial; the challenge of merging with another in relationship; transformation; issues of power and control; the expereince of ego-death and dying; social taboos; the occult; the repressed and perinatal unconscious; regenration of the self through experiencing the values of the other; others’ resources, money and possessions; instincts; wounds; everything psychologically charged; sexual bonding; and in the words of Steven Forrest, “the house that makes you make animal noises.” That is to say, noises that are universally understood, such as sighs, screams and moans. *wink*

In the ninth house we journey in the search for answers to our new truths, and in doing so generate philosophies about ourselves, others and the world. If we remain open in our quest, great wisdom is revealed. It is the relationship of the self to the wider world; meaning and world view; gaining a broader perspective on one’s life through travel, study, and living abroad; the exposure to different cultural perspectives; the search for one’s own truth-philosophy; higher education and learning; values; and life as a quest.

The tenth house is the outer world (or collective) and the paradigm that governs it. It is our first experience of integrating ourselves within the paradigm, finding our place in the collective, and leaving our mark. It is worldy acheivement; personal and professional ambition; one’s public role and public life; the social persona; one’s contribution to the collective through a particular vocation or calling; reputation; and traditionally represents the father.

The eleventh house is where we wish to liberate from constraints. This is the stage, that through the connection of mind and heart, we come to understand that unique part of ourselves that is an aspect of creation, and what its purpose is within the collective. It is the working toward this realization with a sense of non-attachment as to how we may be perceived, that new social structures, groups and paradigms are built. It is one’s individual purpose within the larger collective or social group; participation in movements; associations and groups with common aims; the social circle and groups of friends; goals; strategies; development over time; allies; tribal experience; teamwork; and networking.

The twelfth house is the final stage of our journey before we begin again. If the eleventh house is liberation, the twelfth is transendence. It is where we take all of our knowledge and healing, and we finally see the larger picture that was once clouded. It is the point we see through illusion, we see ultimate truths, and through non-attachment we are able to experience unconditional love of not only the self, but the other/collective as well. It is transcendece or dissolution of the ego; mysticism and personal sacrifice; acting as a conduit or vessel of the transpersonal or the collective unconscious; myth; dreams; fantasy; arts and imagination; isolation; withdrawal; the growth of awareness through solitude or privation; spiritual life and behind the sences activities; the hidden; institutions in which the ego is rendered powerless; the end of a cycle and beginning of a new one; returning to the cosmic womb; the dimension of life “beyond” our world; release; psychic experience; and necessary losses.

Now you are equipped with some of the architypes surrounding the houses. If you cross-reference these with my previous post speaking to the architypes of the signs, you will be able to have a greater understanding of how the houses influence your planets, and how the signs influence the houses. You will also notice patterns or similarities between the signs and houses they govern.

To give an idea on how to interpret someone’s planets, let us use the sun in Virgo in the ninth house. Someone with this placement could be seen as a person who garners joy from learning (ninth house) about the self (the sun). If we go one step further, through analysis of the self (sun in Virgo), this person is able to find answers which contribute to their philosophies of themselves and how they relate to the world (ninth house). If we wish to go even further by incorporating partnering signs/houses, this person will come by these answers by first questioning (third house) illusions (Pisces) they hold about themselves. Upon seeing the reality (Virgo) of these illusions, and analysing the wounds caused by them in order to heal them, they are able to create new philosohpies for and of the self, and gain a greater wisdom of themselves and their relation to the collective. If we wished to go even further, we can begin to look at how Sagittarius and Gemini square Virgo and Pisces, which create challenges and can show wounds that need to be addressed in the chart. We can also address the need to communicate these philosophies, and the need to help others on their life’s journey through their learnings. We can also look at how aspects to the sun influence the expression of that planet, and so on and so forth. I will leave it as is for now, as I would like to move on the partnering signs in my next entry, but you can see how complex and in depth astrology can really get. Far more deep than you cry a lot because you are a Cancer, or you will marry rich because your venus is in your tenth house (I wish though).

If you are daring enough to expose yourself to the world, or at least the community that is tumblr (eleventh house in action!), leave a comment below with an interpretation of one of the planets from your natal chart. And just so we are even, the example above is from my own chart.

Until next time, keep learning and growing.

  • What she says: I'm fine
  • What she means: It’s been twenty one years since the Yu Yu Hakusho manga ended and twenty since the anime was finished. It’s been ten years since the dub aired. Where is my re-make? Does this anime not deserve the respect of being re-animated for the fandom’s viewing pleasure? Is there a petition I can sign? Why does Cars deserve a third movie but Yu Yu Hakusho continues to be ignored? Who cares about Salior Moon; I want to see Yuusuke with pants up to his neck in a current style. I want to see Hiei’s hair sticking up over the edge of panels in glowly, thin-lined animation. Where are my panels showing Kurama's stomach wounds in a format other than jpeg? I want Kazuma's cheek bones in high definition. How do I make this happen? How do I

Autopsy photographs showing defense wounds on the hands of Travis Alexander, who was brutally murdered in his Arizona home in June 2008.

The presence of multiple cuts on the hands and forearms of a murder victim indicates they attempted to ward off an attack with a knife, or a similiar sharp instrument. When a victim tries to wrestle the weapon off the attacker their thumbs and fingers can suffer deep slashes and lacerations. Livid bruising on Travis Alexander’s knuckles suggests he fought heroically for his life before being stabbed repeatedly and shot. His ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias, was charged and convicted of his murder.

Galtean-Human Keith theory

I’ve been floating this theory for a while now (since s2 actually) but when i post about it it’s usually submerged in other theories so im gonna talk about it on its own.

I think Keith is half human, a quarter galra and a quarter altean (or polluxian but I’m gonna keep saying altean because its easier than “altean or polluxian” and I think the two races would be similar enough to have the same features and abilities).

Where is this theory coming from?

Well the first thing that strikes me as off is Keith’s appearance. He is part galra and yet bears no likeness to any galra we’ve seen, especially now that we’ve seen 5 part galra characters, all of whom display at least some galra traits.

I don’t believe that human genes are so dominant as to completely overpower galra genes, so this can be explained by two possibilities:

  1. His galra blood comes from a very distant ancestor and as such is very diluted with human. I find this unlikely, due to his family and history still being such a big mystery/plot point.
  2. His true appearance is hidden in some way.

When it comes to alteration of appearance, we know one way this is possible - alteans shapeshifting ability. This is by no means the only possible explanation for alteration of appearance in vld, as Haggar was able to take on Shiro’s appearance at the end of season 1 in “The Black Paladin”. We don’t know how she did this however, whether that was an altean power or a druid power, or she was just in Shiro’s head. Considering the uncertainty around this, it is easier to focus on the explained altean shapeshifting.

When we first learn of the altean shapeshifting ability, Allura uses it to appear more galra by changing her skin to purple and growing taller in “Collection and Extraction”. After this episode, it is never mentioned again.

In this episode, however, Keith goes face to face (face to mask?) with a druid and is struck by the druids magic. This damages his glove and injures his hand, giving it a sort of burned appearance, except the burns are purple. Before season 2 this was taken as evidence for the galra!keith theory, which was proven to be true.

But galra do not react this way to druid magic strikes. In season 2, “Best Laid Plans”, Thace is struck by druid magic and his injury is a glowing wound. When Shiro is struck by Haggar in “The Black Paladin” his injury is also a glowing wound. This shows that humans and galra have the same reaction to druid strikes, so if Keith only has human and galra heritage, why does he not react like them?

We have seen a different reaction to such a strike, though. When Allura is struck by Haggar in “Blackout”, she absorbs the energy and is able to use it herself.

Now, Allura is obviously a very special case as even Haggar was not expecting this to happen. But in the wondercon panel in April, Lauren Montgomery said that a lot of Alteans have a close connection to quintessence (23:53). Perhaps Keith’s unique reaction is due to altean blood enabling him to absorb some of the energy.

In the same panel, a fan asked about why Keith could sense the blue lion and could fly the black lion, despite being the RED paladin. JDS replied that they went into those storylines knowing that Keith was “sort of going above and beyond maybe some of the abilities of the other paladins” (25:40). Tim Hedrick added on that the season, for Keith, is about “unlocking new powers, finding more about who he is” (25:58). This certainly seems to suggest that there is a lot unexplained about Keith’s abilities that is to do with his heritage. (It’s also worth mentioning that when asking the question, the fan referred to Lauren’s previous point of Alteans and their affinity for quintessence, and when answering the question, none of them denied/discouraged that there could be a connection there. The whole thing was huge spoilers territory and they had a really hard time answering lol)

Speaking of Keith sensing the blue lion, we saw someone else that was able to do this without necessarily having any sort of connection or bond to the blue lion.

Haggar, who is also altean (although, disclaimer: it might just be that she was informed of the blue lion’s return by the galra that gave chase).

Going forward, when Keith is revealed as galra he’s never actually referred to as half galra. The BoM simply say that galra blood runs through his veins. In fact, in the very next episode, “Belly of the Weblum” Hunk lampshades this by asking Keith, “was your mom the galra? your grandpa? how galra are you?” to which keith replies that he doesn’t know.

I don’t think this was a throwaway line - I think it was very deliberately included. Upon finding out that Keith is galra, the audience’s default assumption is that he is half and half. If it were as simple as that, I don’t think attention would have been drawn to the fact that we don’t know this for fact and neither does he. Even in the paladin guidebook, he is described as “part human, part galra”, not half.

We’re probably all aware at this point that Keith’s original design had him have white hair that he dyed and fangs that he filed. Who do we know with white hair and fangs?

both of whom have altean blood (SPOILERS: Lotor confirms his mother to be Honerva in a recently released clip from season 4). Haggar obviously did not look like this originally, but it is likely that Lotor does.

So to tie everything up, my theory is that Keith’s mother is half galra, half altean. A member of the BoM, she came to Earth on a mission, where she met Keith’s father. Using her shapeshifting abilities, she blended in with the local population and lived as a human. Eventually, she got pregnant.

This is where it becomes mainly speculative.

She has twins: Keith and Acxa. With Keith, he inherited enough of his father’s genes (round ears, white sclera) to pass as human. He was purple, but his parents managed to get him to shapeshift at a very young age, giving him a human skin tone. Acxa however, inherited more of their mother’s alien features (pointy ears, yellow sclera) and could not pass as human. To protect her, their parents decided to separate, with Keith and their father staying on Earth and Acxa and their mother returning into space. Their mother left her blade as a token.

Somehow, similarly to how Keith was separated from his father, Acxa was also separated from her mother and, similarly to how Keith found purpose and family in Team Voltron, Acxa found them in Lotor’s team. Acxa latched on to Lotor like Keith did to Shiro, which is why they both display that unwavering loyalty to their respective leaders.
