The School of Life   |   http://theschooloflife.com/shop

The School of Life is devoted to developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture. We address such issues as how to find fulfilling work, how to master the art of relationships, how to understand one’s past, how to achieve calm and how better to understand, and where necessary change, the world.

The School of Life is a place to step back and think intelligently about central emotional concerns. You will never be cornered by dogma, but we will direct you towards a variety of ideas from the humanities – from philosophy to literature, psychology to the visual arts – ideas that will exercise, stimulate and expand your mind. You will meet other curious, sociable and open-minded people in an atmosphere of exploration and enjoyment.

Ello There   |   http://etsy.com/shop/ElloThere

Seth Lucas started the shop in between semesters in the Fall of 2008 when he was tired of his job. Since then it grew and grew, and by the time we graduated it became full time jobs for both of us, something we never expected at first.

We have been doing wedding invitations since then, and just recently added in prints and stationery. We create pieces that are personal to us. We love to travel, (we take a ton of road trips), we collect records, we do photography as well, so a lot of our work reflects that.

As of now we are located in Brooklyn but we never stay in one place too long. Since graduating we have traveled Europe, lived in Seattle, Indianapolis, and now Brooklyn. We’re not sure what the future holds or where we will be next, but we know we will always spend our time creating.

Shop Hunting Tuesdays: The Weekend Press

Oakland Illustrated   |   Support on Kickstarter

The Weekend Press is an Oakland-based letterpress printing and design studio that brings together the quality and craft of a fine printer with the charm and aesthetic of a modern designer. It’s a studio where local Bay Area artists, illustrators, and designers can collaborate with us to realize their art as printed editions or beautifully finished client pieces.

TWP is embarking on its first adventure: an ode to Oakland in 10 limited-run prints from 10 incredible Bay Area artists. They’ve teamed up with 10 talented designers and friends for their very first collaboration: Oakland Illustrated, a letterpress tribute to the city they call home. Each three-color print features a different experience in Oakland, printed with love in their studio on premium cotton paper.

Now, they have the amazing artwork and a trusty press — but they still need the funds for the official print run. Successfully funding this project means that they’ll be able to produce the project in a cost-effective way and smooth out any bumps that occur during the process.

As their thank you for your love and support, these prints will only be available through Kickstarter — you’ll be among the few lucky people to own this first edition print set.

So if you know someone else who loves letterpress as much as you do, feel free to share this project with them!

Shop Hunting Tuesdays:  Fjällräven Kånken    |    Shop

Straight backs are happy backs. Kånken was launched in 1978 to spare the backs of school children. Back problems had begun to appear in increasingly younger age groups and shoulder bags were popular. Kånken has many simple, clear functions. The backpack soon became a common sight at pre-schools and nature schools around the country. The idea of using a backpack quickly spread, as did Kånken. It is just as popular today, and an excellent choice for school, outings or biking to work.

Kånken is made out of durable, lightweight Vinylon F. The large main compartment with a large opening makes it easy to put in/take out items. Two side pockets and a zippered pocket in the front. Handle at the top, narrow, supple shoulder straps, sitting pad in the pocket in the back and logo that doubles as a reflector.

In this, spring collection, they made a step forward and introduced more prints, so here they are - BAGGU animals <3

Shop Hunting Tuesdays:  United Pixelworkers  |   visit shop

United Pixelworkers was born of a simple idea: people in our industry are very proud of what they do, but they’re also proud of where they live. What if we gave designers and developers a way to represent both at once?

United Pixelworkers always deserved to be more than just a t-shirt storefront, and we’re starting to make good on that promise. Stay tuned. United Pixelworkers has reached a size and popularity we never thought possible. We’ve sold thousands of t-shirts to pixelworkers all around the world, made countless good friends, and amassed a huge and loyal following.

Shop Hunting Tuesdays: Sketchbook

Sketchbook   |  http://sketchbookcrafts.com  |  http://ambermjensen.com

Durable, Unique, Functionally Crafted Goods.

Sketchbook was created by Amber M. Jensen, as a response to the love of adventure and exploration of the outdoors. A keen eye, a passion for art, and the skill of two hands goes into each creation.

Amber Jensen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1982 and currently lives in Eugene, Oregon. She received a BFA in drawing from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2004. Since then, she has traveled to New Zealand to work on a bucolic sheep farm, inspiring the creation of her own line of bespoke wool, waxed canvas and leather knapsacks.

Each piece has been designed and sewn into prototypes, then modified in order to find a perfect balance of durability, style and functionality. Every pack is handmade with very fine attention to detail using quality materials. Drawing inspiration from 1800’s and early 1900’s mountaineering gear, owning a Sketchbook pack is like taking a step back to a simpler time.
