I’m betting that people are pissed at us for enjoying a popular meme that can be legitimately funny due to the inherent hipster attitude of our generation. As well, we can look at the typical response of “Stop, it’s not funny anymore” to reveal that the attitude is partly due to how quickly we become jaded with the popular, even if that popularity is minor in comparison to other popular memes. Such responses, to become quickly jaded, shows how the hipster ideal of “It’s popular, now it sucks” has sprung up, as hipsters are seeking for the unpopular, the little known things before reaching out to a new experience.
SHIT! I’M LATE FOR MY SOCIOLOGICAL INTERNET MEME ANALYSIS GROUP MEETING!
