Prompt: Lance is flirting with the reader and he says “How would you like to go on a date with a Defender of the Universe?” and she goes “I would love to” and then she turns to Shiro and asks him out (he says yes of course). Bonus: Keith thinks it is the funniest thing in the entire universe and cannot. Stop. laughing
“Hey beautiful are you a star? Because you light up my life.” Lance said coming up and leaning on the console that you were currently working on repairing.
“Hello Lance.” You replied with a sigh not bothering to look up from your work. Lance flirting with you wasn’t exactly uncommon but you didn’t have the patience to deal with it today. You had a million and one things you had to fix around the ship today and the last thing you wanted was to entertain a flirtatious paladin.
“You must be one hell of a thief because you stole my heart from all the way across the room.” Lance continued, undeterred by your unapproachable tone.
“I haven’t stolen a single thing my entire life and I’m not about to start now.” You shot back.
“Let’s cut to the chase then. You, me, a candle lit dinner underneath the stars.” Lance offered with a charming smile.
“Excuse me?” You asked, looking up with an arched eyebrow.
“How would you like to go on a date with a Defender of the Universe.” He asked smoothly. You internally groaned and got to your feet bracing yourself to turn Lance down again when you got an idea that would kill two birds with one stone. You squared your shoulders and swallowed any doubt about what you were about to do.
“Actually I would like that.” You say standing up and giving him a warm gentle smile before turning around and sauntering towards Shiro who looked absolutely dumbfounded and confused at the turn of events. “Shiro?”
“Yes?” He asked, his voice raising slightly in surprise.
“You’re a Defender of the Universe aren’t you?” You asked with a flirty lilt to your voice. You casually draped your arms around his neck and batted your eyelashes at him. Shiro visibly swallowed before rediscovering his voice.
“I am, yes.” He responding, trying remain politely formal but you could see the glimmer of excitement in his eyes at your line of questioning. All the while Lance stood where you left him utterly shocked at what was happening before his eyes.
“Well would you like to take me out on a date or not?” You asked bluntly.
“Yes ma’am … I mean - yeah. I’d like that.” He stuttered, slowly getting over your sudden authoritativeness.
“Great. You know where you can find me, pilot.” You smiled and winked at Shiro before sauntering out of the room. You intended to go work on another part of the ship to get away from the paladins but Shiro was quick on your heels, striking up a comfortable conversation while you walked.
“Oh my god the look on your face when she - “ Keith cackled hysterically at Lance. “Holy shit I can’t breathe.” He said through his laughter, bending over and clutching his sides.
Just some post wedding intimacy on the Jolly Roger, because I just couldn’t help myself and I woke up with a much needed desire to write…
His dream is like a wave, cresting and crashing as it heads towards the shore, sand and shells churning in its wake but never quite hitting the beach before it recedes. When he wakes, frustration still bubbles at the edges of his consciousness as his fingers dig into the mattress beside him where his new bride should be. He blinks his eyes to adjust to the darkness, the candles he’d scattered around the room after their nuptials now all pools of hardened wax. Pushing back the coverlet, he crosses to an old trunk and pulls out a pair of old linen pants, not wanting to go in search of Emma in his current state of undress.
He finds her quite easily, but allows himself a moment to take her in. The complicated braid she’d worn earlier has fallen loose, allowing golden tendrils to dance in the breeze along with the worn fabric of his sheet she’s wrapped around her like a cloak. She could be mistaken for a spectral, or an angel, some benevolent spirit come to grant his every wish and guarantee a lifetime of happiness.
But something has drawn her from his bed on their wedding night and he aches to soothe whatever might be troubling her mind. So, he crosses to her quietly, making enough noise to be certain she hears his approach. She turns with a smile as he draws near enough to touch, easing a bit of his nerves as he draws his hand around her waist and presses a kiss to her temple.
Oh man. I’m hooked (HAHAHA…sorry). I wrote some Sidon x Link. Because I am weak for that stupid sweet sharkboy. This one is for @cinensis, who is aboard this ship with me and as thanks for his awesome support. ENJOY.
All fluff - cut for length, not for content.
Link wakes up sweating and panting, the silken seaplant sheets a tangle around him. It’s hard to tell if he has made any sort of noise in his sleep, but his throat feels rough, like he’s been inhaling small pieces of rock. The private bedchamber Prince Sidon gave him is in one of the towers overlooking the square below, where he can see the profile of Mipha’s statue from the balcony, past the gossamer curtains.
“Once this whole thing is over maybe things can go back to how they used to be when we were young.”
That’s what she had said, in the memory he had had, and perhaps that should have given him some comfort, but…he had seen her again in his dream, and her image shattered into a thousand fragments. There was chaos and screaming, pain and darkness, and then…he had awoken before there was anything more.
Sleep is the worst time for Link. Sleep, when he can’t tell where pieces of memories end and the tricks of a broken mind take over.
Link rises and puts on his simple tunic - leaving the Zora Armor neatly on the chest where he had placed it after trying it on (even the perfect fit had frustrated him, though he did not show it) - and wanders out, down the stairs to the Domain sprawling below. He knows that on the morrow, he will be called to fight the monster plaguing them, once again take on the mantle of the Champion of Hyrule, and…
In honour of what would have been the 70th birthday of Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara, born September 5th, 1946 in Zanzibar, of Parsi Indian parents), I’m posting one of the most beautiful songs I think he ever wrote - “You Take My Breath Away”.
This is the first-ever live performance of the song, at the free concert Queen performed on September 18th, 1976 at Hyde Park in London. The album it was on (A Day At The Races) hadn’t even come out yet, so this was completely new to the massive audience they garnered that day. Freddie performed it completely solo, on the piano, while the rest of the band went off and changed outfits.
