shine control powder

What’s in my Nurse bag?

Inspired by @nursegif, I put together a little bag full of goodies! I plan on bringing this bag everywhere I go, not just those long shifts. It’s portable and chock full of on-the-go travel size necessities. The little bag itself was only $10 and while spacious, is very practical.

Make sure your bag is convenient for you. You never know when you’ll need some of these items! For example, I have panic disorder. I randomly get diarrhea, I get sweaty, and as you can imagine, it’s unpleasant.  Imodium and feminine wipes to the rescue!

·         Cortizone-10 cream

·         Neosporin ointment

·         Pepto-Bismol caps

·         Aleve tablets

·         Tylenol tablets

·         Imodium tablets

·         Floss

·         Hand sanitizer

·         Wet wipes

·         Feminine wipes

·         Pads & tampons

·         Matte shine control powder

·         Moisturizing lotion

·         Bobby pins

·         Dry shampoo

·         Mints

·         Deodorant

·         Hairspray

·         Eye drops

·         Make-up removing wipes

·         Nail clippers & tweezers

·         Moisturizing lip balm

·         Tissues

·         Bandaids

·         Tide stain remover wipes

·         Pair of latex-free gloves

Other things you could include: money, pen & note pad, zip-lock baggies, a snack bar, extra phone charger, gum, q-tips, hair ties, sanitizing hand wipes, and kids & adult allergy medication

If getting rid of excess oil and minimizing pores are on the top of your skincare to-do list, you should check out @benefitcosmetics’ #POREfessional products (via link in bio)—all four are designed to give you soft, smooth skin under makeup and when worn alone:
🔹the POREfessional: The trusty silky-smooth primer that shrinks the appearance of pores and fine lines. 🔹the POREfessional instant wipeout mask: A new double-sided face mask that fits any pore problem area (think: nose, chin, and forehead). Use the textured side to pull out dirt and impurities and the smooth side for a smoothing, pore-reducing treatment. No need to rinse!
🔹 the POREfessional agent zero shine: An invisible and easy-to-apply shine-control powder to banish grease throughout the day.
🔹the POREfessional matte rescue: A lightweight gel that instantly absorbs oil for a soft, powdery finish and zero shine.

hi! I decided that I want to try using translucent powders to set my foundation and I was wondering if you knew of any good ones sort of on the cheaper end. thanks!

Wooo welcome to the translucent powder world! lol

ELF’s Studio HD Powder is probably my favorite! It’s not the my favorite for oil control, but it makes your skin look a lot more flawless.

NYX’s HD Powder is pretty much an exact dupe for MUFE’s HD Powder because they are both 100% silica!

If you want a translucent powder more for oil control try Neutrogena’s Shine Control Translucent Powder!

azulxxo-blog  asked:

What primer, finishing powder and finishing spray (like Macs fix +) would you reccomend for oily/combination skin so i can keep my make up on all day! x

Try primers like

  • Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (so expensive, but so worth it my go to primer till I die… dramatic but really LOL)
  • Smashbox Photofinish Light, make sure to get the light/white formula not the original because the light version is best for oily skin
  • Neutrogena Shine Control Primer

Try finishing powders like

  • Tarte Clean Slate Smooth Operator Finishing Translucent Powder. Great translucent powder for oil control, can be used over foundation or over pressed powder.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (colored/tinted)
  • Neutrogena Shine Control Translucent Powder
  • NYX HD Studio Finishing Translucent Powder
  • Makeup Forever Duo Matte Powder (colored/tinted)
  • Kat Von D Lock It Powder (colored/tinted)

As you can see I recommend translucent powders as well as tinted pressed powders because I know some people prefer powders that give extra coverage. I personally LOVE using translucent powder over foundation alone or over pressed powder if i need the coverage because translucent powder does a fantastic job at keeping you shine free longer. I use translucent powder as a final finishing step!

Try setting sprays like

  • Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
  • Urban Decay De Slick Setting Spray
  • Kat Von D Lock n Load Setting Spray
  • Model in a Bottle Setting Spray (can only buy online)

Tip: Apply setting spray under and over makeup! It will help it work a little better! I wouldnt recommend Fix + much for oil control/long wearing properties, it’s mainly good for helping your makeup melt into your skin and not look cakey/dry/powdery.
