shes earned it

Mutsuki isn't gonna kill Touka (at least not immediately).

OK. So a lot of ppl are worried about that last page in chap 122 where Mutsuki decided to make a surprise visit, and from what I can see everyone is assuming that Mutsuki is gonna go bad-shit-crazy and just fucking murder everyone. HOWEVER, I have a feeling that this an’t gonna be the case. Now, honestly I could be totally wrong on this but, I don’t think Mutsuki is gonna just immediately lose his/her shit but rather gain the trust of Kaneki, Touka, and everone else AND THEN kill her. Now, I don’t really have much proof to support this but I can just say that if I were Mutsuki I’d definitely do this. Also, Mutsuki isn’t stupid, so if he/she really wants to earn the affection of Kaneki then he/she is probably gonna do this in a very calculated and meticulous manner.

I'm a sex worker who enjoys what she does and earns money to help support herself. I got into the work after being abused by an ex to reclaim my sexuality and body confidence. What do you think of my situation?

The point of this blog is geared more toward general criticism an industry that is rooted the commodification of women’s sexuality and men’s entitlement to women’s bodies. The fact that you enjoy what you do does not change the fact that countless other women are exploited and harmed. Your right to make your own choices and my right to critique a harmful industry are not mutually exclusive. And the fact that having choices can be empowering does not make every individual choice empowering.

I really can’t argue with your feelings or anyone else’s–it would be silly to try. But the reality is that the sex industry exists because men feel that women’s bodies should be available on demand. That type of attitude harms women inside and out of the industry. The fact that you personally do not feel harmed is of no consequence to me.

Just wanted to add to your post to say some people forget that before Big Machine, "Daddy's money" & her parents moving the family to Nashville, Taylor had gotten herself a development deal with RCA & became the youngest person Sony ATV signed to a publishing deal. Those aren't small achievements & she earned them on her own merit. Not to mention she had the balls to walk away from RCA's offer to keep her in development another year when she had no idea there would be a BM to sign with!

Yup! And while moving is an expense and sacrifice that not everyone has the luxury to afford, it’s not as if her parents quit their jobs and laid their lives on the line for her either. Scott just got a transfer to the nashville office of his company.

anonymous asked:

What do you think about Bernie still standing and fighting for what he believes whilst Hillary has seemingly vanished from the face of the earth?

1) Bernard is a sitting senator. He doesn’t get extra plaudits for doing his job.

2) Hillary has been front and centre in politics for 30 years. As a lawyer, as First Lady of Arkansas and then the country, as New York senator and as SecState. From April 2015, she WAS the front line against Trump and all he stood for. She was out there every single day for a year and a half offering a viable, experienced, informed, dedicated and - yes - progressive alternative to Trump. When you ask the question “What was this person doing to fight Trump?”, Hillary Rodham Clinton was standing up and saying “PICK ME. I’M 69 AND I WILL FORGO A CALM AND HAPPY RETIREMENT IN ORDER TO SPEND EVERY DAY OF HOPEFULLY THE NEXT EIGHT YEARS OF MY LIFE FIGHTING FOR YOU AGAINST THIS KIND OF BULLSHIT. PICK ME. I’M READY. I’M WILLING. PLEASE.”

And what did she get for it? The same patronising, sexist bullshit she got the 30 years prior. A primary opponent who falsely introduced an entire generation to her as ‘The Goldman Sachs Lady’. A legion of “concerned liberals” in key swing states voting for Jill Fucking Stein in numbers that made up the vote-difference and more. Twitter Eggs and Facebook Bros saying “She’s just as bad if not worse than Trump.” WORSE THAN TRUMP. SERIOUSLY. And that wasn’t enough. As a final slap in the face, despite winning 3 million more votes than THAT opponent, despite being educated and capable and experienced and diligent and caring and ready, she was denied the office she respected so deeply, (in contrast to the coward who sits in it now), denied the opportunity to serve the country she was willing to sacrifice her Golden Years for on a technicality, through an arcane, archaic system. And just to make sure she wasn’t allowed to end this farce with even the faintest shred of dignity, faithless electors stripped her of electoral college votes she DID win, instead voting for the male primary opponent she FAIRLY beat by every democratic metric, a woman who didn’t even run for President, and a Republican. Oh, and then be told “Bernie would have won.”

If Hillary had been elected, Bernard wouldn’t HAVE to be “still standing and fighting.” Sure, he’d be working. He’d be doing his damn job. He’d be making sure the progressive wing of the Democratic party was heard.

But would President Hillary Clinton have signed a Muslim ban? Would President Hillary Clinton have moved to repeal the ACA on day one? Would President Hillary Clinton have appointed an Education Secretary who literally hasn’t got the first clue about the education system? Would President Hillary Clinton have picked an Attorney General who actively tried to withhold voting rights from Black America? Would President Hillary Clinton have named to her inner circle, and to high-ranking governmental positions, people with strong, evidential ties to hostile foreign powers? The answer to those questions and more would be a resounding “HELL FUCKING NO.” But she was never given the opportunity to prove that. Because she gave a few speeches. And because she sent a few emails. And because her husband was the figurehead of a charitable foundation.

So if, as a private citizen, Hillary wants to walk her dogs in the woods for a bit, so she should. Lord knows she earned it. She played her part, and she was burned for it. She deserved better than the vitriol to which she was subjected in the election, and she deserves better than the scorn with which she’s now treated by people who chose not to tick the box because they wanted to cling to their vain, ill-measured notion of ideological purity. She’s not the one who should be paying the price for the fucking godawful cock up swing state voters made.

Thank you SO much for asking what I’m sure you intended to be a purely innocuous question, and my apologies that you got the brunt of my intense frustration - I’ve been holding that inside for rather a long time. It feels good to get it out.

Oh. One final thing. Please might I direct your attention to Hillary’s twitter feed - I think you’ll find she’s far from ‘vanished’.

EPISODE 94

percy reassures vex beneath the sun tree

You’ve found yourself at the base of the Sun Tree. As you look up at it, at this point the clouds that kind of gathered yesterday have all subsided and you have the most beautiful clear blue sky ahead of you, the morning sun’s coming down. The tree is beautiful as you watch it slowly blossom now as the months have passed. You start seeing green in the boughs, the occasional pod that might eventually flower as the season allows it. It’s serene. And as occasionally a breeze blows through, you hear the various branches hit, and some of the leaves shake, and… it’s a beautiful sight.

Thirteen Reasons Why - Explained

Thirteen Reasons Why

I’ve seen a lot of posts about Hannah being a ‘drama queen’ or overreacting to small things everyone did so I thought I’d explain a bit about what I understood.

1. Justin - Justin exaggerated what he and Hannah did. While this seems mild, it set Hannah up for a terrible high school career because she earned the reputation of 'slut’. This happens so often in schools and in the adult world and can RUIN someone’s life in a certain, if not all areas.

2. Alex - Alex put Hannah as having the best ass against Jessica as the worst. It is clear that the internet is doing its thing again and not taking time to understand things properly; this was NOT A COMPLIMENT AND HANNAH HAD EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY. It was a clear violation of friendship and an obvious example of men pitting women against each other for their own benefit.

3. Jessica - I’m going more by the book here, but Jessica was on the tapes because she didn’t believe Hannah and abandoned her when she needed her. A clear example of how people can easily be lead by others and girls turning on each other because of guys. Jessica deserved to be on the tapes because she didn’t hear Hannah’s side of the story and instead took her anger out on her first friend at the school.

4. Tyler - I don’t think I need to explain much about this, but he abused his position as a photographer in school to violate boundaries for his own pleasure similar to how a lot of people in a power exploit those below them. He made Hannah feel vulnerable and took the lack of comfort she felt at school to her own bedroom.

5. Courtney - I suppose this is kind of harder to understand. Courtney was a closeted lesbian and therefore it is understandable that she was upset at the thought of her being outed before she was ready, but Hannah confided in her to help her expose someone else and instead she protected herself by further ruining Hannah. This shows the selfishness of those who feel the need to protect themselves by harming others.

6. Marcus - I haven’t seen much on Marcus honestly, but I dislike him immensely. He took advantage of Hannah because of the impression of her he had put together from rumours created by other reasons (Justin, Courtney) which is an expression of how men feel owed something from women, especially those who are seen as 'slutty’.

7. Zach - At first glance, Zach doesn’t seem too bad. At half a second glimpse, this changes. Hannah rejected him because he said something silly, a mistake, and if he had made an obvious effort to explain and apologise, he could have helped Hannah. Instead, he chooses to punish her by preventing her from receiving happiness from others. This is one of the clearest examples of how men can’t handle a woman’s right to say 'no’ and reject him…

8. Ryan - This tape is similar to that of Tyler in that he made her feel unsafe. What Tyler did was worse than Ryan, however the effect of Ryan’s actions had (in my opinion) worse consequences that Tyler’s. Ryan published her poem because he thought it was something that needed to be shared, a selfish and naive action (when considering the maturity of high school students), which meant that Hannah’s personal thoughts were no longer her own. She was not comfortable at school, home or in her own mind.

9. Clay - Though I agree when Hannah states that he shouldn’t have been on the tapes, Clay does represent 'everyone else’ who stands by and watched people like Hannah slowly fade and retreat into themselves because of the actions of others. The 'bystanders’ if you will, whose lack of part in our stories can be just as important as those who intrude on us.

10. Justin - It is evident in the series that Justin was extremely haunted by the rape at Jessica’s party and this is probably why he is gaining so much sympathy… this is also why I recommend you all READ THE BOOK. Justin stood by and watched his friend rape his girlfriend, why is he receiving more sympathy than I’ve seen for Jessica? Of course it was hard for Justin to witness that, but staying friends with Bryce and staying with Jessica without telling her is reason enough for him to be on the tapes again.

11. Jenny - Jenny was kind to Hannah, offering her a lift home, but she didn’t take responsibility for knocking down the stop sign which lead to someone’s DEATH. The guilt that Hannah was left with from this (because she was in the car) was understandably overwhelming, especially as the victim was a classmate who was blamed for drunk driving. Jenny is an example of how our reckless actions and lack of responsibility for them can destroy other lives; is that not the entire plot?

12. Bryce - Lord help you if you need an explaination.

13. Mr Porter - A perfect example of how there is not enough support out there for students (and people in general, honestly). The counsellor advising Hannah to 'move on’ after she confides in him that she was raped is one of the most haunting moments in the entire series, solidifying her reason for suicide- she had no comfort amongst her classmates, in her own home, in her mind and now, the specialist designated for dealing with situations like this bore no real interest in her problems and told her to 'move on’.

It’s extremely important for us when watching shows with topics like this to remember many things.

First, the show is not just this situation. Everything represents something more in society; each tape side is a problem in the world that leads to suicide, not only a small action by one character leading to Hannah Baker’s suicide. If you need help in understanding this, or want something else similar to this story, I recommend watching or reading 'An Inspector Calls’ by J.B. Priestly- a masterful piece tackling classism/sexism and how each person’s seemingly small actions lead to a girl’s suicide.

Second, memes are sometimes funny. The 'Clay every time he sees Tony’ memes are really funny, the 'fuck off, Courtney’ memes are funny, but the 'welcome to your tape over a slight inconvenience’ memes, they’re not. The show is raising awareness for the seriousness of suicide, not to create a fanbase of jokes about it. Promoting these after you watch the show, is a clear statement that you haven’t understood why it was made and is completely unacceptable.

Third, separate the character from the actor. Justin Prentice is NOT Bryce Walker, do not spam his comments with disgusting name calling or threatening- this is CLEARLY wrong and unnecessary. This also works the other way: Brandon Flynn is NOT Justin Foley. Just because Brandon is attractive and nice, doesn’t mean his character becomes as such.

Please don’t turn 13 reasons why into another generic element of pop culture. I love pop culture, don’t get me wrong, but we have a tendency to begin digging for meaning and giving up halfway; overusing the profound starting points of progress we find by loosely throwing them around, emptying them of all meaning.

Could you do a blue stim board for autism awareness day!! I really love your blog and I think that would be really cool and fun

No, I will not. The reason being that Autism $peaks (the corporation behind #lightitupblue) is an evil corporation that wants to “cure” autism.

- Autism Speaks was created after a couple decided they wanted a cure for their autistic grandchild
- The CEO has called Autism a “monster that is stealing our children”
- There are no autistic people on the board for Autism Speaks
- A$ has furthered propaganda that claims autism is caused by external sources such as vaccines, gluten, and milk.
- A$ has produced short films demonizing the condition, claiming it will “destroy marriages” and you will “never know peace”.
- A$’s “Light It Up Blue” campaign is rooted in the fact that the diagnostic material is based on young boys/DMABs
- A$ has been condemned by both autistics and mental health experts
- A$ is also classified by autistics as a hate group
- A$ has recently allied with a group of bikers who are known for white supremacy
- In 2008, chief science officer Geri Dawson received a $669,751 salary with $269,721 in relocation expenses to move her family. She earned more than the president of A$ that year.
- Only 4% of A$ funds raised go to help families, with 33% going to media and lobbying.

Autistic people are also insisting that today be called autism acceptance day instead of autism awareness day. I will make a stim board for today though, one that’s red instead.

Sit down buckaroos because I’m gonna share some historical insight with you because of ignorant people who are trying to discard the most badass character in all of feminist characters in musical theatre history and I won’t take that.

Katherine Ethel Pulitzer was a real person - daughter of Joseph and Kate Pulitzer. So there’s fact number 1 to prove she was an actual living person in the 1800’s. Fact 2. When you say women weren’t journalists back then well you obviously have never heard nor read about Elizabeth Jane Cochran also known by her pen name “Nellie Bly”. She was the inspiration behind Katherine’s character in the first place. They basically merged the real Katherine with Nellie and created this character. Nellie Bly began writing for “The Pittsburg Dispatch” in 1885 and moved to New York City two years later to begin working at “New York World”. She was known for her investigative and undercover reporting, including posing as a sweatshop worker to expose poor working conditions faced by women. She earned her acclaim in 1887 when she went undercover at an asylum on Blackwell’s Island and posed as one of the patients to get the story and in turn had launched a full on investigation on the treatment of the institution and the well being of patients (which wasn’t a well being at all with neglect and physical abuse) in said facility. In 1889 she went around the world in a record-setting 72 days, 6 hours, 11 minutes and 14 seconds in attempt to break the faux record of Phileas Fogg, the fictional title character in Jules Verne’s novel “Around the World in 80 Days”. At the age of 18 (my age) she submitted a racy response to an editorial piece that had been published in The Pittsburgh Dispatch that made sexist statements towards women. The writer was Erasmus Wilson (known as the Quiet Observer or Q.O.) Nellie’s letter grabbed the attention of the paper’s managing editor, George Madden, who then offered her a position. She later published a book about the experience titled: “Around the World in 72 Days” in 1890.

So don’t you DARE tell me Katherine Plumber wasn’t a vital asset to these boy’s story. She’s more of an inspiration to me than ANY character I’ve read about. Nellie Bly is an inspiration who makes me want a writing career. I am very much like Katherine (in more ways than just having power bangs) and because of her I’ve learned to love myself. Because of her I can get through days when I’ve got a shit ton of Senior year homework knocking me down. Because of her I’m happier. Katherine and Nellie are huge inspirations to me and if you hate either one of them just unfollow me now. Because these two are my role models and always will be❤

The word luminous gets tossed around a lot, but when it comes to describing Phillipa Soo onstage, no other adjective will do. As the director Pam MacKinnon puts it, “It’s like, Wait a second—is there a spotlight on her? Nope, it’s just her inner glow.” Soo first lit up the stage, fresh out of Juilliard, as a lovelorn Tolstoy heroine in the 2012 Off-Broadway pop-musical Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812. She went on to earn a Tony nomination for her moving turn as Eliza Hamilton, opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda, in Hamilton. Now, under MacKinnon’s direction, the 26-year-old actress is bringing her brand of incandescence—not to mention her ravishing soprano—back to Broadway, in the title role of the new musical Amélie, adapted from the 2001 French film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet that made Audrey Tautou an international star.

Hamilton’s Phillipa Soo Talks Playing the Lead in Amélie

Missing Person (Jughead One-Shot)

Summary: Part one of a Jughead series I’m writing.

Part one: Archie and Veronica talk about old days

Prompts: None

A/n: I will be taking requests for Jughead as of now.

Archie and Veronica walked side by side, each step another second of the present wasted on focusing on the past. They spoke of simpler times when your school year was designated by a number rather than a name. Archie shared a story of his younger days with Betty which soon ended in a comfortable silence, followed by Veronica’s query.

“What about him?” She asked gesturing down the road to a beanied author walking away from hanging a missing person’s poster on poles and mailboxes. “Doesn’t he fit in to your tales?”

Archie was hesitant. “Yeah, we were friends.”

“What about her?” she asked gesturing to the person in the photo. “I’ve seen the posters around town. I thought this place was a quiet one but so far there’s been a dead body and a missing person.”

every westallen scene ever (124/?)

Murasaki Shikibu was a writer during the Heian era of Japan, born in 973. She is most famous for writing the epic classic Tale of Genji, which is considered to be the first novel ever written. Murasaki was from an aristocratic family. She disliked men and mostly kept to herself, spending much of her time at Imperial court writing new chapters for the Tale of Genji. She passed them on to friends, who in turn copied them out and passed them on to their friends to read and copy, and it quickly became popular. Women were thought to be too stupid to learn the traditional written Chinese kanji characters and were taught phonetic kana instead. But Murasaki learned Kanji easily and taught it to the princess Shoshi in secret, causing outrage when she became empress and used it publicly. Murasaki is largely credited for developing Japanese into a written language. She earned herself the nickname “Our Lady of the Chronicles”.

People like, “There is no such thing as an Asian Iron Fist.”

…Iron Fist is title which essentially means the champion of K'un L’un…in China. Danny Rand is not the first Iron Fist and if Marvel knows any better, she shouldn’t be the last Iron Fist. He is not even the only non-Asian Iron Fist. Other Iron Fists?

This is Bei Ming Tian.

My favorite Iron Fist, Wu Ao Shi. You know what, let me tell you about her.

Wu Ao Shi was taught by the Thunderer that life does not give a fuck if you are starving, sad, a slave, or whatever. She has to earn everything and won’t be given anything. As soon as her master made her recite these words, this happens.

She was given fish and dick for free so in your face, sensei! But the relationship was not without problems because male fragility is a motherfucker when your wife is the champion of K’un L’un and you’re a bum ass fisherman.

When she became the Immortal Iron Fist, let’s just say things got a little too real for homeboy.

Wu Ao Shi hunted this nigga down when he left, “like no, motherfucker, I gave you this bomb ass pwussy and you mad because I am Iron Fist? You think you just going to hit and quit this? Nigga, you thought!”

She chased this ass clown for years until she was finally caught by a Pirate King

Sorry to go on a tangent, but Ao Shi is such an awesome Iron Fist.

Any who…

But of course, Asian characters represented a title created by Asian people? And the next Iron Fist after Danny Rand probably?

This is Pei. She is being trained by Danny to be the next Iron Fist. She is pretty awesome.

Emily: “So, Winston. Lena was telling me she used to not be able take off her chronal accelerator, in the old days.”

Winston: “Ah-ha-ha, yes. How embarrassing; those older models were so shoddy. You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to perfect a localized temporal stabilization field over a wide enough area that would allow-”

Emily: *grabs his arm* “THANK YOU.”

Princess of Carrion

So.. the first part of ACOWAR carries the title “Princess of Carrion” (I know, nice title…).

Tbh the first thought/word that came to my mind was “Igitt! (eng. translation: Yuck!)”. My second thought was “Okay, Feyre what will you do to earn such a title?”

And you know what, Feyre was already once called Princess of Carrion from no one other than the Book of Breathings. Right before she put both of the book halves together in Hybern.

“Yes, you see now, princess of carrion- you see what you must do…” (Chapter 62, ACOMAF)

The book also called her, shortly before, sweet-tongued liar and lady of many faces.

I actually could be the case that the book can somehow predict the future (I mean it’s a very mighty spell book that can talk, so why not *shrugs*) and therefore she will earn this title in ACOWAR. The title is probably also connected to the two other titles, sweet-tongued liar & lady of many faces, and refers to the role that she will now have to play as a spy in the spring court.

It’s clear that she will not only play the saved damsel in the spring court but also a person, a weapon, who is willing to cooperate with the King of Hybern to take down the Wall and the Night Court. And that means that she also has to do something that is in favour of the King of Hyberns will.

Carrion probably refers to the death that she might cause, the destruction and suffering. That what might be left after the war.
