sheen on the water

The Signs as Nymphs
  • Aries: Lampades, the nymphs of the Underworld; these nymphs serve both Persephone and Hecate, powerful goddesses, as ladies in waiting and torchbearers. Their skin and eyes glimmer like a candle's flame, colored a brilliant, heady orange or as dark as coal; their smiles are blinding and their laugh is like the crackle of a flame.
  • Taurus: Alseides, the nymphs of glens; Taurean nymphs reside in meadows and groves, basking in the sunshine, walking with the deer and caring for the plants and animals; their skin is always rosy and sun-kissed and it shimmers like gold and smattered with the same soft pattern as a doe, and eyes like a doe's as well, thick hair braided intricately and decorated with flowers.
  • Gemini: Aurae, nymphs of the breeze; Gemini nymphs drift through the air, playing with human's hair and dancing through the leaves. Their skin is a soft, silvery blue, smooth as the sky, only broken by the small scales scattered across their cheeks and joints, all radiant blue; their hair floats around them and their voice is like chimes.
  • Cancer: Limnades, nymphs of lakes; these quiet nymphs drift through the murky water of lakes, playing with the fish and basking with alligators and turtles, and seducing anyone who might pass by. Their skin shimmers dully, slightly green in tint and their faces are tattooed with dark green stripes that decorate their cheeks like a trail of tears.
  • Leo: Anthousai, nymphs of flowers; these playful nymphs play in the forests, fields and gardens, flirting with unwitting humans and decorating themselves with flowers and plants. They smell like lilies and jasmine so butterflies flutter around their heads; their skin is patterned like irises, brilliant purples, golds and pinks, delicate like a water painting.
  • Virgo: Hydryades, nymphs of the trees; these quiet nymphs reside within trees and forests where they care for animals. Virgoan nymphs' skin is camouflaged so that they may blend in with the trees, dark and intricate patterns which stretch across their backs and decorate their faces, eyes slitted like a reptile's.
  • Libra: Nephelai, nymphs of the clouds; Libran nymphs are very rarely seen by humans as they reside in the clouds; they are dreamy, quiet and peaceful creatures who fly with the birds and provide the world with rain. Their skin is like pearl which varies from the softest white to the angry grey of a storm, their eyes are as pink as the sunrise and their hair floats around them in a haze.
  • Scorpio: Naiads, nymphs of freshwater; these nymphs can be found in rivers, lakes and springs where they hunt fish and anything else that wanders too close to the water's edge. They also seduce any humans who happen upon them. Their eyes are large and dark to see underwater, their hair a messy tangle and nails long and sharp; their skin is scaled like a koi's but a brilliant silver or bronze.
  • Sagittarius: Epimeliad, nymphs of apple tress and flocks; Sagittarian nymphs follow flocks and explore the world around them, playing with horses and cows and goats and seducing their owners; when they sleep they return to their original state, an apple tree. Their eyes are bright like a spark, their hair white like apple blossoms and wool and their skin is patterned like the bark of a tree.
  • Capricorn: Oreiades, nymphs of the mountains; these nymphs are highly reclusive and quiet, they reside in the most remote mountains in the world and are very rarely seen by humans. They resemble the animal of their Sign, their pupils rectangular and their eyes a sharp gold, small horns curving from their foreheads; their hair is kept in tight pleats, their skin speckled softly to blend in with the jagged rocks.
  • Aquarius: Asteriai, nymphs of the stars; these nymphs live far away in the vast expanses of space where they drift and play in complete silence: constellations are their embrace, shooting stars their tears. Their skin is as brilliant as the sun, golden, red and even deep blue, and it shimmers in an unending pulse of light.
  • Pisces: Haliae, nymphs of the sea; Piscean nymphs reside in the sea and can occasionally be spotted dancing on the seashore. Their hair reaches their ankles, strands of pearls and shells woven within it; their skin has a pearlescent sheen from years spent in the water and small scales, pink and pearl-like, decorate their webbed hands and creep up their legs.

Especially when you had to work along with the worst team in human history—and with the added stress of your classes, it didn’t make the job any easier. You would regret working there until the day you quit. The only reason you stuck around was because of the good pay it provided its employees, giving you enough money to live in the cozy little apartment you moved into months ago.

But today was just horrendous. You were left to deal with the most atrocious customers and an angry boss that just wouldn’t get off your case. By the time you made it home, you were drained of all your energy.

Once Bellamy had rounded up everyone, and people got their heads together, they started to share tents, cut up more firewood, and started to create blankets from anything.

“Y/N,Murphy, You’re both on water duty”

You raised an eyebrow to the brunette, “Water duty. How are we supposed to do that?”

“I don’t know,” Bellamy shrugged, but gave a glare, “You two figure it out”

You looked at Murphy, who you had barely spoken to beforehand. You starting walking out the tent, as Murphy soon followed with a backpack.

Your feet kept moving as your mouth stayed shut, Murphy followed quietly, until you got to the woods.

“Where are you planning to go Y/n?”

Engines Can be Rose Part 5

An art School AU Drabble

Shifting his gaze from her eyes to her mouth and back again, Kylo continued, “I keep thinking about…”

“What?” Rey whispered.

“Thinking about how sweet you’d taste.”

Thanks to a couple cups of punch, Rey wasn’t entirely convinced she wasn’t hallucinating this entire conversation. That explanation made sense. Surely, that was what was going on here. Too much booze on the brain was, unfortunately, a heck of a lot more reasonable for her versus accepting that she was actually in her TA’s room- on her TA’s bed- as the object of her obsession claimed that he longed to taste her. That couldn’t be possible. She couldn’t be that lucky. All these scattered insecurities flickered by one by one in the space of an inhale before Rey settled on trusting the intensity in his stare.

Believing just for one second that he wanted her too.

Dragging her teeth along her lower lip, she exhaled out all of her fears.

“Why don’t you find out?”

anonymous asked:

Kai and 25 please!

*NSFW- kinda suggestive*

Jongin made you so frustrated sometimes. Most of the time he was the sweetest boyfriend, doting on you and making sure you smiled at him everyday- just as you did for him. Once he even set up a feast of Ice cream and Doritos when you had a particularly bad at work and you felt so grateful to have met him at that cafe that day. To have been given the chance to love his dorky ass.

But today. When he stepped back into the room and shut the shower door forcefully without saying a word you knew he had a bad day. The best thing about Jongin was how easily you could read him. Mostly it was good for when you wanted to cheer him up. Though today you knew he was going to be difficult to please. You heard the bathroom door open as Jongin reappeared, cotton towel wrapped loosely around his waist as he roughly towel dried his hair ignoring the dinner you had laid out for him.
Now that got to you. He could be frustrated about work. Sure. But no way does he get to take it out on you. Without even breathing a word to you in the first place.

“Jongin. What in the world is wrong with you today? Why are you being like this?” You question, trying to keep your voice calm regardless of how much you wanted to snap him out of this mood. He lifted his darkening eyes up at your tone, halting his forceful drying and dropping the towel on the floor. Jongin cleared his throat and crossed his arms unimpressed, your eyes unwillingingly noticing how defined his muscles were recently. The water adding a gentle sheen that only reminded you of late passionate nights where a similar sheen covered his skin and left in your mouth the salty taste of him. You forced your thoughts away from this, now was not the time you thought to yourself.

“You want to know why I’m like this? So you want to know how I’ve been ordered around the entire day. Nothing ever being good enough? Well I’ve had enough.” He snapped, lifting a hand and beckoning you with a finger. “I want you here now.”

You stuttered slightly, taken aback by his commanding attitude.

He’d never done this before.

Of course…he wasn’t always gently but this, this was different. In all honesty…you wanted to see where it would go. But not without a little push. “Jongin what? I’m sitting down already. Why would I move?”

Jongin narrowed his eyes and stalked his way over to you, long legs covering the room quickly while his towel struggled to stay on his body. Jongin’s hard eyes were looking down at you as you tried desperately not to stare at his pink lips, feeling the effect of his mood and the tension. Of course his barely covered body wasn’t helping things either.

“I said up baby girl. I’m not in the mood for your quips, I’ve had a bad day and you can make me feel much better. On your knees. Don’t argue. Just do it.” He said as his hand threaded into your hair, tugging slightly as he knew drove you crazy. A small mewl left your lips at his tug and you watched as a smug smirk curled hotly over Jongin’s lips. “I can see you want me just as bad baby girl.” As he lifted your hand to trace down his abdomin, you almost closed your eyes at the feeling, wanting more of his skin while he groaned softly at your light touch. The sound buckled your knees and you fell in front of him, looking up and biting your lip. Jongin almost panted at the sight, wanting nothing more than to take you against every available surface in the house, and leave his mark on every area of skin you had.

Which is exactly what he did. And you loved every minute of it, begging him for more until you couldn’t take him anymore.

Admin C- So I have been trying out different types of drabbles tonight and this is the uh…more suggestive one so to speak…

Chakra Control

(i dunno. written in fifteen minutes. just getting things out of my head that are taking up room. I have no idea what’s going on here.)

Returning to Konoha had been a mistake. He couldn’t compute what had made him think that he could waltz back into the village riddled with families of shinobi he had either hurt or murdered with impunity.

What a fucking disaster.

Covered in splatters of something- he had a feeling it was overly ripe vegetables from the market- he stormed through the town, letting the rolling rage of his energy carve a path through the crowds. People side stepped and stumbled to get out of the way of the incoming Uchiha, their eyes wide their mouths wider.

Idly and with a lot more aggression than necessary he ripped a piece of something- tomato skin probably- from the side of his face where it had smashed to a stop. Courtesy of angry housewives with no husbands and children with no fathers.

God-fucking-damn it.

Above, the clouds were a blazing white against the azure blue of a summer day. The sun glimmered and sparkled with glory, unaware of spotlighting Sasuke’s humiliation as he ripped through town back towards the abandoned Uchiha district at the outskirts.

Something wet and slimy was sliding down the back of his neck and sucking in a long breath he reached back and studied his hand for a second. Just long enough to ascertain that they had in fact thrown eggs at him as well.

Cutting to the right, he headed towards the river, shooting a glare at a gaping pedestrian before shoving past through an alley and then pumping chakra into his legs jumped onto the roof top, smooth as a cat on a hunt.

Although he felt more like a dog with it’s tail between his legs.

What a fucking disaster he was.

Standing on the surface of the water had a way of soothing nerves she couldn’t grapple with on land. The pulse and lick of the liquid beneath her feet was familiar and calming. Sometimes she wondered if perhaps it reminded her of being in the womb, tightly wrapped and swimming in an ever present hug.

Eyes closed Hinata let the sunshine slide over her skin, the warmth almost a burn on her paleness. She had to be careful practicing her control in the water because without the cover of the trees she could end up blistered and in pain. More than once she had gone home mourning the loss of her smooth white shoulders, given way to freckles and aching red skin.

It was a price she was willing to pay though, to calm the twisting knots of her stomach and the nerves that made her hands shake while speaking.

Pulling her dark hair up into a ponytail she sighed, and keeping her eyes closed shifted her weight back and forth on her feet, feeling the slip and slide of the river lick the top of her foot and then sink back down below as she caused waves to dance along her ankles.

Then with a flourish of her hand she pulled a ribbon from the river in an arc that followed her slender fingers. It sparkled in the light, casting rainbows where the sun shone through before spilling smoothly back into the water’s current on the other side of her body.

Getting a feel for the stream’s mood Hinata smiled, amused by it’s playfulness and lifted another hand, arching it along her body. The water danced in a twirl above her head, sinking back into it’s mother river below with a splash.

Opening her eyes Hinata breathed in deep. Time to work.

Setting her jaw seriously she spread her legs to anchor herself to the heartbeat of the water and extended her arms wide, letting her chakra roll out in a sphere of influence along the molecules of the current.

One by one the dewy beads began to rise to her call, pearls of liquid that tightened and knit into each other in a solid orb of protection, tightening and tightening together to create a womb of safety. Brow furrowed Hinata stitched the water tighter determined that no kunai or jutsu should break through her shield.

As her chakra intensified the river rushed around the glittering ball that shimmered like impure glass, sparkling in the daylight hiding the slim focused form within.

He had never seen something like it before and so for a moment he forgot he was covered in the rotten tomatoes of disgruntled villagers and stared through the last of the trees before the river bed.

The ball was crystal white and reflected the light of the sun in all directions, making it difficult to look at it directly. The river raged around it and tendrils of water snapped and hissed like snakes along it’s surface, hiding further what he thought might be a silhouette within it’s confines.

Curiosity was an innate Uchiha trait and even in his state of dishevelment he found himself inching forward, hand sliding to his katana at his back, fingering the hilt absently.

Black eyes focused he eyed the edge of the river bed where the water shuddered against the smooth rocks and glistened on the sparkling sand. Brow furrowed he slid out of his sandals and stepped into the water, watching with interest as the sphere at the center of the river shuddered and glistened in response.

“What the…”

Idly he lifted a kunai in his hand, cocking his head slightly.

Well fuck, curiosity killed the cat, right?

And he tossed the blade true into the center of the glass orb.

He may as well have picked a fight with a river god.

Grunting he ducked as a solid mass of water shot from the liquid at his feet, aiming for his head, and another coming from his side. Startled now he moved to flip and sucked in a breath, looking down at the water wrapping tighter and tighter around his feet, where he had willingly placed himself at the river’s edge.

Oh shit.

Drawing the katana he narrowed his eyes slicing through the onslaught of prodding jabbing water, watching it disperse and tumble to the ground with every slash, soaking him to the bone rather quickly.

Eyes flickering to the orb he slammed the katana between his feet and glad to feel the release of the chakra binding him to the river bed he snapped onto the water surface and shot forward towards the glittering sphere.

Manipulating water was not his best skill, even walking on it caused him to flounder and concentrate but whatever the hell that thing was, it wasn’t friendly and he didn’t like leaving fights half finished.

Raising his katana he dragged in a breath and launching himself from the rolling river surface lifting the blade in both hands, aiming to come down at the top of sphere with all the force he could muster.

Hinata frowned within the warmth and security of her water shell, flinching as her chakra writhed violently outside of her defense.

Calm down, Hinata.

Her anxiety was getting the best of her. Fighting opponents that were not even visible with her chakra. The river was playful and responsive to her energy. Hopefully there was no one out there or she would be soaking them to the bone with her uncontrolled flailing.

Grappling with the wriggling water she sighed, and shook her head, finally opening her eyes and releasing the sphere with a wave of her hand. No, why wouldn’t her chakra and the river relax? What was wrong with her?

The orb disintegrated like ice before a fireplace, falling apart at the top and with a gasp she looked up, a shot of electricity running through her as her shinobi senses screamed of threat.

Byuakugan snapping to her face and with her feet sliding out to absorb the blow she cried out, not in fear but a battle cry, raising both hands.

Sasuke’s katana slammed hard into a blue sheen that looked like water but was solid as steel, the impact sent ripples of pain up his forearms and with a grunt of effort he flipped backwards, using the force of the impact and the incoming blow from the wielder below the shield to vault him back to his feet a few steps away on the river bed, panting.

The shield melted away into the river again in sparkling tendrils of water, revealing the stunned and wide eyed shape of one Hinata Hyuuga, staring at him in shock and confusion, hands raised and at the ready.

“Uchiha-san!” her voice was high pitched and confused as her face. “W-what are you-?”

“Hyuuga.” He stared, as confused and panicked as she was but with a little more control on his face. “What the hell are you doing?”

Hinata didn’t lower her battle stance, Byakugan staring through his skin and into the folds of his chakra. “I… I was training.”

Frowning Sasuke slid his katana back along his back. “Hn.”

At the sight of his weapon disappearing Hinata slowly straightened and breathing deep allowed her Byakugan to fade. “…I…I am so sorry, was my- was I-?” realizing suddenly why her chakra had been so aggressive and unwilling to comply with her demand for calm she closed her eyes, blushing hard. “Was I attacking you?”

Sasuke didn’t move, interested in the fact that she was a little embarrassed.
“You’re not the first today.” He grunted, starting back towards the river bed. “Don’t worry about it.”

Something about his last sentence made her start and taking a handful of steps after him she paused, hands to her lips, suddenly noticing the stains along his shirt and pants, the residue of vegetable skins at his neck and arms.

“Oh….oh no.” she stepped a few waves closer along the river, and he stopped at her voice, glancing over his shoulder at her with a frown.

Lips pressed tightly together Hinata searched his face, lifting a hand up with a long slender finger not pointing at him so much as gesturing. A tendril of water rose by his feet and he shifted against it, unconsciously reaching for his katana again.

“N-no… I…” Hinata frowned and the water moved slowly along in a ribbon of pulsing liquid, smoothing along his cheek, washing away the remnants of something thrown at him in hate.

Holding perfectly still Sasuke blinked, focusing on breathing and the feel of her chakra infused river sliding over his skin, wiping away at his shame.

“Who did this?” He had never heard Hinata Hyuuga’s voice so hard, and he wondered that like the water she could be fluid, warm, and gentle, or solid as the shield she wielded against his sword.

“A lot of people.” He managed after a moment.

The water slid back into the river and Hinata walked slowly towards him. Her frown unshakable now on her face. “I’m so sorry.”

Keeping his face still he stared at her some more, curious not just about her expression but the way his heart was reacting, thumping around angrily in his chest.

“Your apology is useless, you did nothing.”

“Well.” She admitted softly. “I… I wouldn’t have let them, if I had been there.”

He stared some more, unable to reply.

“I’m good at…shielding things.” She added and smiled finally, enveloping him in that moment in the warmth of the summer day.

When he didn’t reply she cocked her head, just a little. She couldn’t imagine herself in his shoes, covered in the hatred people had for him, wearing it on his clothing and skin as evidence.

“I…if you stand still, I can wash it off.” She added, and her hands spread wide, the river replying to her call and lifting in ribbons that danced and twisted around her like dragonflies and butterflies and bees all swirling at the silent song of her chakra.

This was usually the moment when Sasuke would scoff, or glare and step away, dismissing the offer with distaste, maybe even a scathing remark.

But her eyes were wide and open, and her smile was warm where he had felt freezing.

He was tired of being cold.

“…okay…” Then hurriedly. “I hardly believe you have that kind of chakra control. You’ll have to prove it.”

Her smile didn’t waver, perhaps because the way he said it was obviously to excuse himself allowing her touch.

“I guess, we’ll see.”

“Oh, for fuck’s sake…”

You huff for the fifteenth time, throwing your covers off your face to face the icy, unpleasant chill of your bedroom. No matter how many times you turned up the thermostat, you still felt cold, and you had been hoping to take a nice, warm nap in your cozy bed after such a long day in school.

But your neighbors had other plans. Specifically, your neighbors’ teenage son, who just had to have very loud dance practice with his crew every day, right outside your window no less. You usually didn’t mind, because they had actually good music taste, and you always had a soundtrack to study to, but today was not like usual, and all you wanted to do was rest, so you could see how much grief this caused you.

“Why me? What did I do to deserve neighbors like this? Why can’t I live next to a sweet old couple, or a cemetery?” You mutter to yourself, just about to slip back into a wishful sleep once the sound outside dies out again. You think, just maybe, that they’ve given up for the night, and your breaths begin to even out, a content smile forming on your lips.

And then the bass drops again.

Shards of Space

Pairing: JongKey (Jonghyun x Kibum)
Word Count: 911
Summary: She had needed space, and although Jonghyun hadn’t realised it at the time, so did he.

A/N: horrible summary but it’s better than it sounds, i swear! <3

“I need space.”

At the time, the meaning behind her gut-wrenching words had been an unintelligible jumble of nonsense. Jonghyun had tried, he really had, to separate himself from her and give what her heart so desired, but his attempts were to no avail and inevitably, she left without an ounce of sympathy adorning her pale blue eyes.

Life went on, albeit grudgingly, and day by day Jonghyun’s eyes became ridden with fiercer red lines and dark marks grew beneath his bottom lashes. Although she had needed the space, Jonghyun found it proving to be quite difficult, and couldn’t seem to understand where her usually sane mind had been wandering as of late.

The dark, starless sky reflected Jonghyun’s dim mood, mocking his every action with its taunting nothingness and vast expanse of space. It was as though nothing could brighten the darkness which infected his every atom, and inexorably, Jonghyun fell into a void of impassive despair.

Those around Jonghyun wondered and pitied, but not once did they take another step forward in helping the young man. No one ever asked, nor risked offering Jonghyun an assisting hand. They merely watched from afar as the glint in his usually chocolate brown orbs faded to a dull, gloomy glare.

And then he came.

words; 19.8k

genre; hahaha u know some fluff, smut, tears??

synopsis; a very lengthy story regarding the school’s most talented baseball player and you, his precious girlfriend, surviving the year based on a promise and many… interesting events to come;)

A chilly breeze swept crinkly brown leaves across the grass and onto the rippling sheet of water before you, the air crisp yet dry as the months got colder. Goosebumps began to prick along your skin, a sudden shiver trickling down your spine and forcing you to wrap the thin jacket you were wearing even tighter against your body.

The ground felt lumpy and some grass patches had not yet defrosted their morning sheen. You were never a fan of the cold, though it did give you an excuse to wear oversized sweaters and thick, fluffy socks. But today, you were without both of those things, the tip of your nose slowly turning more numb by the second.

When is he getting here? You grumbled inside your head, an impatient huff of air pushing from your lungs. Around 15 minutes had passed since you arrived at the lake and he was still a no show.

The school is right around the corner, you cast a glance over your shoulder, the only sight being a lady bundled in a red coat walking her dog, if he doesn’t show soon then I’m gonna spilt. You turned back to face the lake, the silvery glaze of water reflecting the sturdy willow trees that dotted along the shoreline. Another shiver rushed down your back at the thought of how cold the water must be, it’s icy currents nipping and swirling around your delicate flesh. Subconsciously you started to grind your teeth.

Almost any body of water made you uncomfortable, and when you were left alone with your bustling thoughts, you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking about how awful it would be to get sucked underneath the liquid surface, all the breath being ripped from your lungs as your limbs thrashed wildly through a darkening abyss. Your own heart beat began to quicken, eyes unable to look away from the sight in front of you.

If it weren’t for the hand that slowly slid over your shoulder, you might have pushed yourself crazy, a slight gasp escaping your lips as you turned to see who disrupted you. An immediate warmth flushed through your body at seeing his gummy smile, the pearly glow of his teeth almost too bright for your widening eyes.

“Sorry I was late, the line for hot chocolate was long as fuck.” A vibrant laugh rumbled in your chest, the rich smell of the steaming drink in his hands causing you to inhale a deep breath. You felt nothing but a tingly warmth when you took the cup from his grip, the bitterness to your fingers now fizzing away until you could fully sense their movement. He shuffled beside you and adjusted the hood over his baseball cap, his glossy eyes reflecting the sheen of the water.

“I was gonna cuss you out for being late but since you brought me hot chocolate, I’ll let it slide, Jihoon.” His crackly laugh almost warmed your heart more than the smooth velvet sliding down your throat, a satisfied exhale of air leaving your lips to fade into the parched air.

“But baby, you’re so cute when you’re mad.” He sang, his fingers coming to pinch the flushed skin of your cheek. You were expressionless as Jihoon grinned at you, his eyes falling to crescent moons at your tasteless response. A snarky comeback was ready to fire from your tongue, but a sneeze beat you to it, Jihoon’s hand snapping away from your face as your upper body jolted forward.

“Thanks for the warning.” You were lucky you pressed the lid over your hot chocolate before you took your first sip, because you may have spilt the broiling liquid all over your lap. Maybe then you wouldn’t have to worry about the cold, but it didn’t seem too worth it to scald yourself in the process. After fishing around in your pocket for a tissue, Jihoon began to unzip his much thicker black jacket, a heavenly warmth suddenly covering your back and around your shoulders.

“You dork,” you hissed as Jihoon scooted closer to you, now reduced to a hoodie, “you’ll freeze.” His arm slipped around your waist while he took a long gulp of his hot chocolate, clearly unbothered by the cold. Before you could nip in with another retort, Jihoon nuzzled his lips against your cheek and placed continuous splotches of kisses, and though you wanted to further pester him about why he shouldn’t always be giving you his jacket, you were finding it difficult through the ear to ear grin that was forcing its way across your lips.

“Well you’re already freezing, now shut up and drink your hot chocolate. I spent more than I wanted to on it.” And just like the flip of a light switch, Jihoon was back to his snappish ways, though you knew there was nothing but affection behind it. Stifling the grin and intense butterflies that tickled the inside of your stomach, you returned to finishing your hot chocolate rich with flavour and warmth, enjoying every minute of it before school started. As you were getting ready to leave the lake, Jihoon tossed your cups out in a nearby garbage and proceeded to stretch his arms high above his head, a tiny whine escaping his lips.

“So, will you let me teach you to swim this summer?” Jihoon asked with a soft glow in his eyes, your hand instinctively reaching for his on your way along the sidewalk. While rubbing your thumb over his milky skin, you cast a look towards the cracked cement and shook your head, every single one of your worries weighing you down like lead.

“I don’t think so.”

“Seriously? I’ve been asking since forever, you know I won’t let you drown, right?” Jihoon replied in a longing tone. He felt a slight sting at the thought you didn’t trust him enough, he knew full heartedly he would never let anything bad happen to you, after all you were the one he loved. Your jaw tightened and your lips pressed into a thin line, nothing but images of swirling water sucking and dragging things under its dark blue surface making you stumble on your words.

“I-I, know… It’s just, I don’t think I can do it, I’ll suck.” The school started peaking into view, the final bus slowly rolling away from the curb after a swarm of grumpy looking students stepped off. Jihoon’s grip momentarily tightened on your palm, a light sigh heaving past his pink lips.

“You won’t suck, it just takes some adjusting, some getting use to.” He mumbled. Eventually you both came to a halt near the entrance to the school, Jihoon’s jacket still heavy on your shoulders. Your morning classes were different, so you had to get your goodbye over with. After regretfully returning Jihoon’s jacket, his hand slid around your waist and he smoothly tugged you close to him, his tongue slowly licking the plump flesh of his lower lip.

Your fingers took purchase in the sleek material of Jihoon’s coat, the fabric slightly balling in your grip when his warm palms delicately cupped your cheeks. The top of your head lightly pushed up his baseball cap during your sweet and slow tempo kiss, the only taste being the chocolaty flavour of your past drink. It was hard to pull away from his encompassing warmth, even when your kiss was interrupted by the loud cheering of Jihoon’s name, his friends from the baseball team clapping loudly for him.

The bubbling fire in your stomach still blazed when you both shared a breathy chuckle, his forehead resting against yours so he could admire the depth of your glittery eyes. Jihoon’s thumbs affectionately brushed against your now heated cheeks, the kitty curl to his lips growing wider when his friends continued to shout for him.

“I’m pretty sure I gotta go,” he sighed while you returned his stare, “but I’m not dropping the swimming thing.” You snickered as Jihoon placed one final peck on the tip of your nose, your hands coming to fold together in the warmth of your thin jacket. When he began to move away from you, you swallowed the lump in your throat and called out to him,

“If you guys make it to the championships this summer, I promise i’ll let you teach me how to swim!” You never thought the words would leave the tip of your tongue, yet here you were, standing in the bitter breeze with your toes about to fall off, putting one of your biggest fears in the hands of your boyfriend’s baseball team. Jihoon turned around while still shuffling backwards, his fingers coming to adjust the black cap on his head,

“Piece of cake, baby.” He chimed, his little smirk making you bite the inside of your cheek and cast a shy glance towards the brick wall. You were sure you’d just screwed yourself, Jihoon’s team didn’t whip baseballs out in fields of wispy snow for the hell of it. They loved to win, and you were positive you were going to lose.

So I have this theory. You know how pictures of mermaids seem to be mostly pale, porcelain girls with long flowing hair and bright tails? Well to me. That doesn’t make sense. Mermaids are the masters of hiding. They are majestic, magical creatures who don’t want to be seen by humans. So my theory is that all mermaids have dark skin. Like very dark skin and dark tails as well with a slight sheen on their scales to match the shine of the water.. This would make it easier for them to hide in the dark waters of the ocean. It’s simple survival and evolution really. Not to mention, how incredibly beautiful they must be. So secretive and elusive in the water to the naked eye. I’d love to see more mermaids depicted this way.

The Snwitch’s Gender Clarity Spell

Hi everyone! This spell was recently requested by a nice little anon who asked for a spell to help witches who are questioning, investigating, confused about, or exploring their gender identity. I think that it’s perfectly normal and healthy to investigate your gender identity, and I wanted to make this spell primarily self-reflective. This spell is meant to be used as an aid to a personal ‘meditation’ on your own identity. Use with care :) Enjoy!

What you’ll need:

A clear or white bowl

Clean water

A small pinch of salt

Optional: A few fresh mint leaves

What you do:

Gather your ingredients.

Pour the water into the bowl and add the pinch of salt. As you add the salt, say: “Salt, cleanse this water of all impurities. Cast out excess energy, and banish negativity.”

Add the mint leaves to the water. Let them float along the surface. Notice the way that the green of the leaves stand out against the clear, still water. Inhale the clarifying smell. Take a minute to become fully relaxed and present.

Stare gently into the water. Allow your gaze to be soft, not strained. You don’t need to focus on any one point in the water. Just softly gaze into the water.

“Water perfect, water clean,

Pure of color, soft of sheen,

Clarify what is unknown,

And lend your contemplative tone.

As I ponder things that are or should,

Let my gender be understood.”

Gaze into the water, and let your mind wander. Think about how you feel about your gender– the parts of you that are or aren’t feminine, the parts that are or aren’t masculine, the parts that are both or not quite either. Spend some quiet time thinking about your identity, using the water as a focus point. It’s perfectly normal if your mind wanders to other things.

After some time, you will either feel that things are more clear for you know, or you will feel that it is time for the contemplation to end. If things still don’t feel quite clear for you, sleep on it and try the spell again later.

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask. I hope you enjoyed,

It is no night to drown in:
A full moon, river lapsing
Black beneath bland mirror-sheen,

The blue water-mists dropping
Scrim after scrim like fishnets
Though fishermen are sleeping,

The massive castle turrets
Doubling themselves in a glass
All stillness. Yet these shapes float

Up toward me, troubling the face
Of quiet. From the nadir
They rise, their limbs ponderous

With richness, hair heavier
Than sculptured marble. They sing
Of a world more full and clear

Than can be. Sisters, your song
Bears a burden too weighty
For the whorled ear’s listening

Here, in a well-steered country,
Under a balanced ruler.
Deranging by harmony

Beyond the mundane order,
Your voices lay siege. You lodge
On the pitched reefs of nightmare,

Promising sure harborage;
By day, descant from borders
Of hebetude, from the ledge

Also of high windows. Worse
Even than your maddening
Song, your silence. At the source

Of your ice-hearted calling-
Drunkenness of the great depths.
O river, I see drifting

Deep in your flux of silver
Those great goddesses of peace.
Stone, stone, ferry me down there.

For as long as you can remember, Luke has always been a presence in your life. You went to nursery together, travelled up through high school and eventually attended the same college.

Your relationship with the handsome blond has always been a little confusing. You use the term ‘friends’ very loosely around Luke as both of you mirror the same feelings for each other.

The flirtatious banter and teasing comments have gone on forever, both of you liking to wind up the other until the sexual tension feels unbearable. It’s something you thrive off.

But, still, nothing’s ever come from these feelings. The occasional kiss here and there, maybe a touch of grinding, but you’ve never gone all the way.

genre: fluffy mcfluff

prompt: so awhile ago i wrote this scenario about you and hoshi spending a week together at camp. that will basically correspond with this drabble but its ur decision if u wanna read it or not. i’m just dealing with some salty writers block and i didn’t wanna leave yall without anything, so yeah, enjoy<3

“That’s such a bad idea.”

“What, no it isn’t.”

You sat next to Hoshi in the dining hall, your brows furrowed in concentration as you tried to slip pieces of pasta onto the prongs of your fork. He had been mindlessly chattering into your ear for the past 5 minutes or so, his squishy cheek shoved against his fist. There were many times you went along with Hoshi’s not too thoroughly planned ideas and you couldn’t complain. You had fun. But being at camp, under the strict surveillance of staff who were just waiting for some kid to screw up, was diminishing his persuasive ability.

“C'mon Y/N!” He whined while wrapping his fingers around your arm, his cinnamon eyes beginning to glimmer, “No one has to know!”

You avoided his stare, knowing that one look into his pleading eyes would have your guard tumbling down. Instead you concentrated on your cheesy pasta, shoving a forkful into your mouth while Hoshi continued to rattle your sleeve. When you didn’t utter a word, he let his forehead fall onto your arm, a displeased sigh leaving his lips.

“I’m sorry Hoshi,” you said with slight sympathy, “it’s just that I don’t know what they’ll do if they catch us, the place is crawling with staff.” The boy lifted up his head, silky clumps of blonde hair tousled adorably.

“By staff you mean Joshua.” A giggle escaped your lips as you tried to swallow another helping of pasta.

“Yes, by staff I mean Joshua.”

Lunch ended rather quickly and in minutes you were back underneath the golden rays of the sun, a breeze carrying the sweet scent of nectar between the tree leaves. Hoshi shoved his hands into the pockets of his gym shorts while you continued towards your next activity, which was photography.

“It sure is hot.” He said while clenching his teeth, shoes kicking pebbles along the pathway to the photography lesson. You chose to say nothing and stared straight ahead, though you could feel his gaze burning the side of your face.

“It will be pretty sticky tonight. Yuck, I would hate to be stuck inside a cabin.” You knew he was trying to persuade you to say yes to his earlier proposal, and as much as you wanted to deny the heat, you couldn’t. Your skin was already feeling flushed and bothered under the harsh sunlight, and passing by the deep blue lake wasn’t helping you feel any more refreshed.

Hoshi knew you were close, especially when you thickly swallowed back a snappy reply. One more push and you would be putty in his hands.

“I kinda wish we didn’t have photography right now. I just wanna dive into the really cool and soothing water of the lake, you know, cause it’s just so freaking ho-’”

“Alright!” You hissed while fastening your fingers around the collar of his shirt, your boiling eyes looking right into Hoshi’s twinkling ones. “I’ll go swimming with you tonight, just, shut up about it.”

He twirled away in sleek satisfaction that he’d finally gotten you to crack, his hands clasped to his chest while he pranced around like a little sugarplum fairy. A harsh smack to his shoulder had him straightening up, though you could do nothing to wipe the smirk off his face.

“If we get caught I’m blaming it on you.” You took a fistful of his shirt and yanked him close to you, his ear next to your lips as you whispered your plan. Hoshi just grinned like a child who’d gotten the toy they always wanted, his arm sneaking around your waist to squeeze you into his side, “and if we don’t get caught, you’re buying me ice cream.”

A lot of rules were enforced at the camp to make sure everyone had the best experience possible, (as the staff so graciously worded it), and one of those rules were staying inside your cabin at night. On your first day, Joshua explained it to you plain and simple, and though his smile said, c'mon guys, let’s all listen to the rules, his eyes were saying, I dare one of you to even try it and see where you end up.

A girl in your cabin who was clearly used to having everything handed to her on a silver platter already snuck out before and hadn’t been caught, and while you all felt more at ease knowing the staff didn’t watch you that closely, it was still nerve wracking to do it yourself.

"Meet me by the canoe shed.” Hoshi told you during photography while almost dropping his camera into the lake. “Bring everything you need.”

Then it had seemed like a cup of tea, but now you were a faulty pile of nerves sitting on one of the top bunkbeds. Your legs swayed back and forth over the edge while everyone got ready to sleep, putting on their eye creams or hand lotion or whatever it was they did before bed.

“You’re not getting ready, Y/N?” One of the girls asked you while shoving a bag of oreo’s under her pillow.

“I’m suppose to meet Hoshi for swimming, but I’m nervous about sneaking out. What if I get caught?”

“You won’t,” another replied. She peeled another makeup wipe from the packet sitting on her lap and you remembered she was the one who last snuck out. “There’s this path behind our cabin that loops you at an entrance towards the beach. Trust me not even binoculars Joshua can catch you.”

“Alright then,” you sighed while grabbing your towel, “I’m going for a swim.”

‘The path’ behind your cabin ended up being quite scary, especially as the sky grew darker and bugs buzzed between the leafy thickets. You had to cup a hand over your mouth when some weird insect leaped from one of the tree branches onto the dirt, your heart pulsing with the urge to sprint your way to the beach. Eventually, (after much suffering and awkward hopping) you found the exit, the soothing sound of the water lapping at the shoreline calming the fizzy nerves in your stomach.

Even better, Hoshi was already waiting for you, his pearly smile shining through the darkness that was slowly settling around you. “Y/N!” He beamed while skipping towards you, his arms wrapping your body in a brief hug.

“I thought you were gonna chicken out.” He mumbled teasingly, earning him a light flick to the forehead. “Well you were right about it being all hot and sticky, let’s get in the water.”

You set your towel down on the picnic table and began peeling off your clothing, a satisfied sigh heaving from your chest at finally getting away from the tacky fabric. Hoshi sat down next to you and quickly shucked off his pyjama bottoms, his shirt soon following after until all your clothing was messily strewn across the wooden table.

“Tie this for me?” You asked while holding the strings to your bathing suit, Hoshi carding his fingers through his fluffy hair with a smirk. “I’d rather not.” He replied in a teasing manor though he was already obeying your request, a rosy blush rippling across your cheeks when his fingers brushed against your bare skin.

It didn’t take long for the both of you to be fully submerged in the lake, the coolness of the water feeling like a soothing balm to your heated skin. Your toes brushed against the sandy floor before you dove under the shallow waves, your legs kicking out behind you while your arms glided back and forth. You had to hand it to Hoshi, his mischievous little plans always worked out in the end, and you were feeling more and more guilty about how you’d been snappy with him earlier.

When he finally resurfaced a few feet away from you, your eyes followed the silver streams of water that glided down his milky skin, butterflies beating their feathery wings against the inside of your stomach when he pushed back his hair. Though Hoshi and you had always been best friends, there were times when your flirty sides got the better of you.

Pushing through the water, you snuck up behind him, a playful shimmer reflecting in your eyes just before you launched yourself onto his back, arms clinging around his neck while your legs clicked at his waist. A bubble of laughter fell from your lips as Hoshi almost lost his footing in the sand, dusky clouds swirling at his feet.

“That was uncalled for.” He chuckled while instinctively tucking his arms under your legs, his head titling back so you could catch the cheeky smile on his petal pink lips.

“You’re uncalled for.”

“That’s your comeback?”

“Don’t push it.” You quipped with false anger, your chin settling on top of his head to watch the crisp rays of moonlight reflect their glittery sheen over the water. Hoshi didn’t bother replying, instead he stepped farther into the lake, letting the shallow waves lap softly at your skin.

“Sorry for being snappy with you earlier.” You mumbled as your guilt resurfaced. “Being out here with you is much better than being trapped inside a sticky cabin.” Hoshi just hummed, his thumbs stroking smoothly along your thighs.

“I should trust you more and I’m actually having fun so-,” before you could finish, your face was coming into contact with the water, your body plunging into the cooling abyss as Hoshi swiftly disappeared from underneath you. When you broke the surface for a breath of air, you heard his little chipmunk giggles from behind you.

“What the hell was that for! I was apologizing!” You hissed while flicking the water away from your eyes, Hoshi bobbing around you in amusement.

“I know, but I was still feeling a bit hurt from when you told me this was a bad idea.”

“Maybe if you had of let me finish-,”

“No,” Hoshi hummed while gliding towards you, his hand cupping over your mouth, “just shh, just shh.” You tried to pry his hand away, “but!-”

You gave up and decided to let the little fluff win, his chin resting on top of your head as his arms held your sides. You huffed into the crook of Hoshi’s neck while he was probably celebrating in his head, it was rare you let him win your arguments. In the end, you didn’t have the heart to bicker with him, not when he began softly singing some song you’d never heard while swaying you back and forth in the water, occasionally pecking the side of your head.

No, he was just too precious.
