she's just a really real person

Letter M with Eliza and Ham if you would be so kind <3

When it rains/snows/storms.

It’s snowing the first time they kiss.  They’ve escaped from the bar where her sisters and his friends stayed.  She stole his hat and pulled it low so it covered her ears and her arm naturally wrapped around his tightly to better keep them both warm.

When the snow started, he looked up.  “I never get used to it.”

She watched him.  It was amazing what she could learn about a person in one night when she really wanted to. It was amazing how much more she could want to know.  Every step on this walk was like begging him to tell her more of his secrets.

He smiled.  “I like it.”

“I like it too.”  So many of her memories are wrapped up in the winter.  It was always been her favorite time of year with no real reason why.  It just felt important somehow.  Every year she was waiting for winter to come and change her life in some way.

“What do you like about it?” he asks, no longer staring at the sky.

“Snow always brings me good things.”

“Christmas,” he teased.

She shoved his shoulder gently.  “Yes.  But other things too.” She looked at him.  His eyes were so big and so dark and so close.

“What do you think it might bring you this year?” His voice was gentle and hopeful.

She brought a hand up to his cheek and stroked it gently.  She was scared and bold and fueled by alcohol and maybe something else deep within her telling her she was safe to do this, that it wouldn’t hurt.  “Maybe it can be you?”

Before she could blush that she’d actually said it, he said, “yes,” and leaned in to kiss her.

eene-fangirl  asked:

What is your favorite EddEddy fanfiction? What do you look for when fanfiction tries to capture Edd and Eddy's friendship/relationship?

Here are some of my favorites as they come to mind, in no particular order:

I love Eggy’s fanfics “Carnal Cabernet” and “A Phone Call Away.” Both are really well written, and she’s also super good at writing their interactions in a way thats super believable and in character.

Ummmm, I also really love “Stuck in the Words” by StickyLickySweets, which is gorgeously written, but.. angsty isn’t really the word for it, but I guess I could just describe it as being -very- real. I have an immense fondness for that one for personal reasons, anyways..

I also loved “Hotboxed Ed” by Iceyl… I’ve had that one saved in my bookmarks for months now! This one fantastically characterized all three of the Eds, so much so that it felt like an episode of what could be an adult version of the series.

I also loved “Mismatched Pair of Eds” and “Parting is Such Sweet Ed” by Skeletonpie, two ongoing fanfictions that are written so unbelievably eloquently. (These are two of the fics that I tried to do audiobook version of because I’m super cringy and extra like that…gotta get my fic while in the car, what can I say lol.)

I also really adore Nintendogal55′s recent fanfic contributions to the fandom… she’s such a sweetheart and a really fabulous writer. I think my personal favorites of her’s would have to be “Will You Be My Ed” and “Kiss EDucation.”

Anyways those are the ones I came up with off of the top of my head… I’m sure there are some that I missed, but my head is kinda cloudy today…

Hi that was me.....I just ranted about how Cortese is so full of shit. It was Meg that' was tortured by Alastair, Ruby was never tortured by him on screen and that bs about being bashful in her first scene as Ruby in her underwear, so fucking fake she is, she loved being half naked on camera, narcissist. Her and Jared are part of the reason I stopped watching the show. I'm really disappointed in him. She promotes organic food, but wears real fur, buys dogs and uses leather....

I agree, I don’t think she’s as self conscious or timid as she likes to pretend she is. I think she’s just played that part because she liked how everyone treated her when they thought she was a timid, socially awkward person. But now that she’s being her true self, attention seeker, she knows that the fandom will love her because she knows she can do no wrong in their eyes. Has she ever done or said anything that her followers have disliked? She’s never pissed any of them off? I don’t understand how they can just take everything she does as genuine. She’s posting old pictures like they’re new and everyone praises her for sharing such a sweet moment. It’s not a sweet moment when it’s obviously staged! As for the torture scene, I think she was referring to this one. But, I have no idea because apparently Cortese is clueless when it comes to the show she was so blessed to be apart of.

She talks at Paleyfest 2011 how she and Jared adopt all their dogs and how it’s a great organization, whatever it’s called. But then a few years later instead of adopting a dog, like Gus, they chose to BUY a dog. She’ll donate the money the DLG girls made off her clothes that she sent them to a dog shelter, but she won’t actually adopt from one. I guess the shelter is good enough for her money but the dogs aren’t good enough to be in her home. I don’t even know how she can talk about living organic and from what I can see, living a vegetarian lifestyle (tofu) but she’ll wear animal product. Uh…you’ll wear leather and fur but you won’t eat the meat? How does that make any sense? Her damn Celine bags she’s obsessed with are made from CALFSKIN. For those that don’t know, that would be baby cow. I’ll never understand how she’ll dish out thousands of dollars for winter jackets, lined with fur, when she’s living in ATX. I wasn’t aware the winter months were a bitch down there or that she spent a lot of time in colder climates during the winter.

Jared has pissed me off to no end with this whole bullshit. I can handle the dorky pictures he’ll share of the two of them and even the ridiculous stories he’ll tell. But what I can’t handle is him allowing her to use the kids like they’re props. There’s absolutely no excuse and it disgusts me how he’s just going along with whatever she’s doing. He can’t share is own pictures of the kids? He can’t share a picture of Odette? All the picture have to come from Cortese now? I guess hip mama really does run the house, or at the very least she’s running the family unit. I just wish Jared would tell her to go to hell and act like a dad again. I miss his cute pictures of the kids and seeing him with them! I don’t understand why Cortese has to be the one to share the pictures now. God forbid someone gets more attention than her.

Oh, good! I always try to remind people that I won’t ever publish something off anon without their permission and that their identity is safe with me. No worries, I just block the wife stand and will always delete their messages. If they don’t like that their are people that refuse to kiss her ass, that’s their problem and they can avoid this blog. I’m here to stay, nonnie!

Oh my god, in last night’s Bob’s Burgers, Bob takes Gene to a laser light rock show at the planetarium (super important to Bob, because it was his favorite when he was a teenager, and this is the last night before they’re closing the exhibit because it’s old and no one goes anymore, also it’s Bob’s birthday), and Gene has no idea what he’s in for, but he gets pumped for it anyway ‘cause Bob’s so excited about it, and finally they get in there and they’re watching it, and Gene has a sensory overload and kinda starts freaking out ‘cause he can’t handle it, so Bob takes him out and they sit in the car for a bit.  Gene’s angry because Bob didn’t tell him it would be so loud and scary, so Bob offers to play the album for Gene at a normal volume, and Gene starts to enjoy it, so he reclines the seats, takes out the cigarette lighter, tells Gene to pretend it’s a laser, and starts drawing in the air, explaining the plot to him (it’s like a full on Pink Floyd or Rush-esque rock opera about a bunch of robot overlords telling rockers that they can’t play music anymore, and one Rebel rising against them).  Gene gets really into it and decides he wants to see the finale of the laser show (which Bob regards as a life-changing experience), so they sneak back into the planetarium (there’s no re-entry allowed) with a few tricks that parallel the story from the album, and watch the climax of the show together (Bob fashions some earplugs for Gene out of a napkin).  On the way home, Bob’s asking Gene how he liked it, and Gene says “I loved it!”, Bob asks him to speak louder ‘cause his ear’s are shot, and Gene yells, “I LOVED IT, DAD”.  Bob yells back “I love you too, Gene”.

I FUCKING!!! CAN’T!!! DEAL!!!! WITH HOW GOOD THIS SHOW IS!!! I know i don’t talk about Bob’s Burgers a lot but this show is flawless and charming and gross and funny all at the same time, the characters are written like people with actual fears and anxieties, and unlike a lot of comparable shows, the comedy doesn’t come from the family being pitted against each other, it’s always the family against the world… I love it, I love it, it’s so pure and refreshing and still somehow manages to be funny without sacrificing it’s heart, and I fuckin’ love it, please watch Bob’s Burgers holy CRAP okay I’m done.

Motherhood

Short story by reddit user ellipticalmoons

I was never supposed to be a mother. But when Lilly was born, she became my whole world. We look just alike and she’s vibrant and smart. I really lucked out.

I never understood why my husband wasn’t quite as crazy about her as I was. Our relationship was great before Lilly was born but he got surly and depressed as time went on. He’s not a bad person though; I wasn’t there for him like I should’ve been. Life happens and he’s remarried now. I’m okay with that.

You know, I keep seeing posts talking about what a horrible liar Kara is. But the fact of the matter is Kara is probably one of the best liars I’ve ever seen on TV.

But wait. The entirety of National City knows Kara’s Supergirl, you may be thinking. How can she be a good liar? But that’s the thing—her secret isn’t that Kara Danvers is Supergirl.

Kara’s only been Supergirl for the past year or so. But still, she’s been lying for well over a decade about who she is—and successfully. The thing about Clark—and they’ve addressed this in season 1—is he may as well be human. They’ve talked about this with Astra, and then they’ve shown this Myriad. Because in Clark’s head, he’s not Kryptonian. His powers make him stand apart, but when he solar flares, his most likely thought process is I’m human now. To Kara, it would be I’m now powerless. And there is a difference. Krypton is much more technologically advanced, yes, but that is not the only difference between Earth and Krypton.

I cannot emphasize enough Kara is not human. Kara’s alienness isn’t contingent upon her abilities—superpowers or no superpowers, she’s always Kryptonian.

And sure, plenty of people probably have figured out that Kara is Supergirl—but that’s pretty much it. What people know about Kara’s past is that she’s Superman’s cousin, and that’s it. And clearly, Kara is younger than Superman—most people aren’t going to think “yup. She was probably put in suspended animation in some way.” I mean the conspiracy theorists might, but not really the overwhelming people on Earth. (listen. You gotta draw a line somewhere)

Most people are going to think ‘Occam’s Razor’—that Kara’s mom, or dad, or both, got off Krypton at the same time as Superman, and a decade later had Kara, and that there’s a very good chance that Supergirl is half human, or at the very least born on Earth and raised as a human. It’s what’s logical, isn’t it? The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

But she’s not. English isn’t her first language, and she grew up with a very different culture, undergone a host of different experiences that most humans couldn’t even imagine. Hell, she wasn’t even born the same way—Clark was the first natural Kryptonian birth in years. That means Kara was not. Kara was born via the Codex—really, if James was surprised at the depths of Kara’s anger over losing Krypton (back in season 1—you know, where Kara got to have more than 3 emotions), or how surprised he was to find out what Kara’s family crest really meant, how surprised would they be at everything she’d decide to just stop hiding?

Because Kara is so very good at hiding. Kara Danvers is real, yeah, but it’s someone she had to build. One of the very subtle, but telling moments happened in the first episode of season two, when Kara and Clark were getting off the elevator, and Clark had a clumsy moment where he ran into someone and knocked all their things to the ground. After he apologized and helped the person pick up their things, Kara asked him “wow, you really have the whole clumsy thing down, don’t you?” “Oh no, that was real.” Key word here is thing. As in, I have a routine I go through to distract people and to seem harmless. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, of routines and acts Kara must go through to make herself seem human. Kara Danvers is real, but part of that identity is a persona she constantly embodies–clumsy, absentminded, horrible at math and science, cute but not drop dead gorgeous, a bit quirky always happy, harmless, invisible, human.

And so it’s not surprising that all of these people are figuring out her identity, but that’s not really what Kara’s held close to her chest, not like Clark. Kara’s anger and loss and just general alienness–that is her secret. This is what she’d confide, this is what she’d have to truly trust someone to reveal. This is what the culmination of trust would look like, trust in Cat or Lena or Maggie (or hell even Barry, who sure knows Kara is an alien but. He doesn’t really seem to grasp the implications of that–oh i didn’t realize Kara got mad).

For 10 years, Kara kept herself hidden, keep herself secret. But Kara’s secret isn’t that she’s Supergirl, a human with powers. Kara’s secret is that she is angry and mad and hurting. But most of all, Kara’s secret is that she is not human.

So Something Happened at Phoenix Con

I’m not usually one to complain, or criticize, or speak out at all really. I’m one of those fans that just quietly sits in the corner and admires from afar, silently praising all the guys for what they do. But every now and again, someone does something that lights me up, and I’m off like a firecracker.

As I’m sure you’ve concluded, that happened recently.

I’m a Jared girl, but I love and respect all the actors equally. Respect being a keyword here. Phoenix con 2017 is going on now. As it so happens, that’s exactly where this incident took place. Yesterday. On the day mostly recognized as Misha’s day of the con.

Let’s all just agree that Misha is an incredible human okay? He’s actual such an incredible human that he borders on being a real life angel. He deserves all the good things in the world. Which is why I am particularly fired up because of what happened.

**Not naming names because this is not to bash anyone, just to draw attention to the fact that these are people with real, human emotions**

I’m going to summarize this the best I can because, honestly, the more I talk about it the angrier I get (and I’m not an angry person, this just really doesn’t sit well with me).

Long story short, there was a con-goer that had been to a con in the past and she had Misha sign her arm. Misha had said that if she still had the autograph on her arm the next time he saw her, he would buy her ice cream. No harm in that part. This is where things start getting…. Uncomfortable.

The girl then decided she was going to take Misha up on that (which, admit it, we would all try to keep Misha’s auto on us as long as we could, bet or not). But, instead of doing any number of options that would be considered safe and acceptable, she peeled off her skin, including the autograph, and preserved it.

Are you still with me? Hold on. I’m not done yet.

At Phoenix Con, she then adhered it back to her skin. Now, I’m not sure if she showed it to him during a panel, or ops, or autos, or where. But when she did show it to him, he told her to take it off.

**this is where I get seriously pissed**

So, she takes it off. AND FUCKING THROWS IT AT HIM.

This girl, who claims to love and respect Misha Collins throws a piece of her dry, dead, decaying skin at him. It lands in his lap and his handler has to come pick it up. She tries to excuse it by saying ‘it’s all in good fun’ and that he’s ‘used to her by now’, but let’s make a few things clear.

It’s all in good fun? I’m sorry, I have never once in my life have gone around throwing preserved skin at people for the fun of it. And I’ve asked some of my friends (the ones that wouldn’t call the cops on me for asking such a question) and they all said the same thing. I don’t care if you’re a celebrity or Mary Jane that lives next door, people don’t like having dead skin thrown on them. Especially a stranger’s skin.

Secondly, no matter how many times we meet them, they really don’t know us. They don’t know if you’ve got any diseases. They might not even recognize you, really. How many times have you seen someone at work over and over and over again but don’t really know them? I have. I’ll admit it. And you know what? It is my job to interact and build report with customers. And I’m not a celebrity – I don’t have millions of people begging for time with me.

I guess I made this post for a few reasons:

1.       Is my anger justified or misplaced? Taking into consideration that, while I’ve never met them (Pitt Con is so far away), I do love them like they’re family

2.       I’m open to opinions.

3.       I want to make a PSA that Jared, Jensen, and Misha – hell EVERYONE – are human. Don’t do something to them that you wouldn’t like having done to you. If you wouldn’t like have dead animals thrust into your hand, don’t make them hold one. If you wouldn’t like someone to throw decaying organs on you, don’t do it to them! You paid money for a ticket to the con. You did not pay money to abuse them.

I know I’m going to probably get hate for this, and to be honest, I really don’t care. If you think I’m right, great. I’m glad someone sees this from where I’m at and finds it just as wrong as I do. If you think I’m wrong then… well, you keep doing whatever you think is right. We’ll agree to disagree.

tl;dr – Don’t throw your decaying, preserved skin at Misha because he’s a human and it’s disgusting on so many levels. Show him respect. Show all of them respect. You know Misha is too kind to say anything about how uncomfortable it makes him, so just save everyone from being awkward, and save the fandom from feeling like we have to apologize for the actions of a single fan.

Everything felt like it was playing out and slow-motion and all you were doing was twirling the flowers in your hand. You were nauseated and your mind was racing with every possible scenario. Talks Machina Highlights: Episode 94
  • Denise message: “MY WORDS ARE A SPELL I’M CASTING ON YOU ALL”
  • Everybody will be in next week’s ep for the continuation of Liam’s one-shot!
  • If Pike had been in the Nine Hells, Percy probably would’ve signed the contract secretly as opposed to up-front. She’s the only one who can actually evoke shame in them at this point.
  • Taliesin was planning the entire time to scry on Scanlan and has been trying to make an excuse to steal the Scrying Eye for weeks.
  • Pike’s moment with the earring, talking to Scanlan, was 100% improv.
  • Laura suspects Sam wouldn’t have been able to pull off Scanlan’s departure if Pike had been there. As it was, after the show went on break, Sam felt so bad that he ran over and gave a hug to everyone. If he’d made Pike cry, according to Laura: “he’d be UNFORGIVABLE.”
  • Taliesin semi-bullshitted the Grey Hunt stuff and Matt rolled with it. Taliesin gave him a ride to the airport the next day and they talked about how much they enjoyed how it worked out.
  • Laura points out that she’s the type of gamer who reloaded the game 20 times in ME3 to try to find a way to get a resolution that would be good for everyone when one didn’t exist, and she had that same sense of frustration when she got home after the game. She was really upset over the resolution of the Grey Hunt, but is feeling a bit better knowing it at least wasn’t failure.
  • Ashley and Travis both briefly thought the Grey Hunt was gonna be a weird proposal. Taliesin: “I feel like in our friends group the proposals have been getting more and more ridiculous. That would be the meta-continuation.”
  • Taliesin points out that Percy has a problem with abandonment and the whole thing with Scanlan is hitting his “really serious anger management issues.” Percy was hoping to get Vex’s vague permission/help over the Scanlan thing, and when it wasn’t forthcoming, he changed his plans to be less extreme. Percy’s also dealing with guilt over not feeling useful in the underwater fight, and is displacing that as anger over Scanlan not being there to mitigate that issue.
  • Pike’s got a lot of lingering resentment over Scanlan leaving.
  • Vex would’ve approached the Hunt differently if she’d known more about the creature ahead of time. Everyone decides that it probably killed a lot of small, cute woodland creatures when it threw the tree at Vex.
  • Percy’s most angry about Scanlan leaving the group and abandoning his responsibilities. Everyone else has to deal with the horrible shit going on, but he’s the one who gets to fall apart.
  • Ashley was disappointed not to be in the Hells—she was wondering if she might’ve had a permanent shift in her personality as a result of staying there. Ashley really struggled with playing Pike as a good character early in the home game.
  • Vex was at 10 HP at the end of the Hunt. Taliesin didn’t think there was a real chance of death there, because Matt’s great at building tests that are terribly difficult but not fatal, but was more worried that she was gonna fail. Laura: “God, I would’ve felt like a loser!”
  • Ashley and Laura have both kept themselves from watching the scene that was just Taliesin and Sam and Matt in the room.
  • The idea of leaving with Scanlan crossed Ashley’s mind when she watched the episode, but it’s tough to tell what would’ve happened if she’d been there, because so much of the show is in-the-moment.
  • Vex thinks of Whitestone as home, more than Greyskull.
  • Pike feels some guilt over Scanlan’s departure because of the pranking. “I never thought he would be mad at something like that, of all people.” Percy didn’t feel bad about it, because that’s not where Scanlan’s anger really came from. Pike still feels bad, knowing that.
  • Poor Brian has food poisoning and had to run off-set midway through the show. Ashley jumps in to take over. “Okay, Laura and Ashley. Uh. Me.”
  • Taliesin says Percy and Cassandra don’t really talk about personal things—she probably doesn’t know about Vex, although she suspects. They love each other and all, but they’re not a very warm family. “It’s cold and we live in a castle, for god’s sake.” Laura sums it up: “Cassandra is no Vax.” Percy and Cassandra weren’t super close as kids. “She was a brat.”
  • Brian judges Ashley for not coming up with a funnier excuse for his running off-screen.
  • Vex and Vax have been growing into their own people over the past few months, but Laura doesn’t know how Vex will deal with being in Whitestone without having Vax around, without the comfort of knowing the person she loves most is nearby.
  • Percy has come up with contingency plans for if the other party members go rogue. Brian: “Tell me about it.” Taliesin: “No. They’re in the room.”
  • Vex has an affinity for nature, and while she’s growing accustomed to Whitestone, she’s more comfortable not being around people, because it lets her keep from putting on an act.
  • Before Pike died, her hair was black (with a purple streak), and after she died, her hair turned white.
  • Ashley gets asked about Pike’s parents and grandparents, and there is a story there, but she refuses to answer in case it comes up in the game.
  • Someone asks about Percy breaking his "honesty streak.” Taliesin: “It’s not an honesty streak, it’s just a period of not being caught lying.” Laura: “People think [Percy]’s much better than he is.”
  • Blurbs on the back of Tary’s book. Percy: “A fascinating addition to the Audubon chronicles of Emon.” Vex: “Don’t believe the lies.” Pike: “I enjoyed the artwork in particular. Great read, but the artwork is fantastic. By the late and great artist, Doty(e), someone whom we used to know.”

Talks Machine in the Dark:

  • If Pike had a companion along the lines of Trinket, it would be a baby snow owl.
  • Taliesin wants fanart of Strawberry Shortcake-esque little animal pets for all of them.
  • Taliesin hasn’t thought about what Grog’s title would entail. “Now that you’ve said it, I’m having thoughts, and they’re all ridiculous and a little mean.”
  • Favorite spells outside their class: all agree that Chromatic Spray is cool. Taliesin misses using Prestidigitation. Brian: “I don’t have that spell because I can’t pronounce it.”
  • Percy smells like sandalwood and gunpowder.
  • After a long debate over which character would win in a Survivor AU, they eventually decide everyone would survive and they’d all do just fine together.
  • Ashley and Laura have matching compass tattoos, along with two more of their friends—they each have a direction.
  • High-school superlatives. Pike: “Best legs.” Percy would have a series along the lines of “President of chess club, president of yearbook club. Most likely to help make the yearbook.”

((I don’t know if this has been done, so if it has please tell me.))

So I’ve seen a lot of those ‘Humans are Space Orcs’ posts and I think those are really cool, but unnoticed they all consist of one thing: humans traveling with the aliens.

So there are a lot of ways you can do that, right? You could go all Star Trek and make it to where the humans and aliens all live together in harmony and travel space together and things like that. But I have a different idea and I think it’s pretty cool.

So humans don’t really know aliens exist. Obviously you have your conspiracy theorists and loons and the occasional 'abducted’ person, but for the most part it’s just generally accepted that aliens are fun and all, but they’re not /real/.

And then there’s this kid. He/she/they don’t really have a happy life, but they can’t really do anything about it. You can make them whatever you want, have any or of disorder or disability or just make them an angsty teen that comes from an unhappy home. They want to leave, but they’re too young, so they have to stay.

Then of course, the aliens come. But instead of crap like Independence Day (I say crap in a loving way, the movie was pretty good and I like it), the aliens just take one look at the kid, pick them up, and leave. That’s it. Nothing else. Just take the kid and go.

Of course the kid is terrified at first, but after like the first day or so they calm down because the aliens are treating them like gosh-darn royalty. They put the kid up in the nicest room on the ship, give them the best food they can muster from their rations, and provide for any kind of entertainment the kid might want. It’s like paradise, and the kid is happier than they’ve been in a while.

So the kid travels with these aliens on all sorts of cool adventures and throughout this period is when we get the 'Humans are Space Orcs’ discoveries. Like the kid will go up to random giant furry beasts and just glomp them and coo at them while the aliens are like “No that’s deadly it will kill you oh my god what is this kid doing?!?!” Or, if the kid has a uterus, come time for their period the aliens freak out because “Oh holy shmarda, the child is bleeding!! Why is the child bleeding?!” Hilarious antics and shenanigans ensue and the child is so happy with their new life that they never want to go back home.

Also included: drama when the aliens return to earth to find a human companion for the child (even though they didn’t ask for one you guys don’t have to do this really it’s fine) and the parents of the kid demand they be returned immediately. The kid doesn’t want to go back of course so the aliens have to fight for custody over the kid in court (I guess idk but something along those lines. Maybe the humans try to kill the aliens because the kid was “abducted” and that causes a lot of angst and problems.).

Idk just something that’s been floating about in my imagination for a while. I think it would be a really cool show though tbh like someone hire me.

Beauty and the Beast Post-Curse headcanons

In the past week, after seeing the new live action Beauty and the Beast (twice thus far. Still jonesing for a third viewing) the movie has taken up a permanent residence in the back of my mind, thus creating many a headcanon to frolic about in the space betwixt my ears. I personally enjoy reading other people’s headcanons so here are a few post-curse headcanons of mine, organized by character…

Belle
- Belle uses the library to start a school for the village children, bringing the village’s literacy rate higher than anywhere else in the country. The children often give her drawings and short stories they’ve written which she displays prominently.
- One of her favorite things is watching Adam interact with children. He was a bit concerned at first that they wouldn’t like him, but it turns out he is great with them! She’s had to enact a “no piggyback rides in the library” rule.
- She and Père Robert start a book club.
 - She is almost constantly tinkering with ideas and inventing things to make things easier around the castle. Washing machines, kitchen gadgets, carts with built in book shelves, and so on and so forth. Adam is more than happy to provide her with anything she could possibly need and often watches her work, helping when he can, but mostly just admiring her mind at work.

Prince Adam
- Now that he is considerably less hairy (and over all less beastly in terms of body mass) he gets cold easily. (Mostly at night or in the early morning since early post-curse is summer.) He can often be found in the library by the fire and occasionally making his way through the castle wrapped in a sort of mobile cocoon of blankets.
-Since the curse has been lifted he is trying to encourage a lighthearted atmosphere around the castle, attempting to undo the “when I enter a room, laughter dies” reputation. This ends up manifesting itself in quippy remarks and the occasional pun (much to the surprise of the staff at first) and ultimately learning to laugh at himself more.
- He finds himself gravitating to Belle. Absentmindedly taking her hand in his whenever she is close by. Reading over her shoulder from time to time. Overall just preferring to be near her. She makes him feel safe. Yes, this is real. The curse is broken. She really does love him.
-Having Phillipe around has proven very therapeutic for him. He goes for walks around the grounds with Phillipe and talks with him, pampering him with lots of apples for being such a good listener.
-He waits a while to propose to Belle, but he keeps his mother’s wedding ring on his person pretty much from the start of their post-curse days. He just didn’t want to make Belle feel rushed.

Lumière
- After years of having no taste buds,  Lumière has become a foodie. He relishes being able to savor the simplest ingredients, often enticing Plumette to try whatever he is most excited about at the time. “Plumette, you must try these strawberries! They are positively exquisite!”
-He often forgets that he can no longer produce a source of light at will, and can often be heard muttering as he stubs his toe in the dark.
-When Belle and Adam do get married, he is Adam’s best man and delivers the greatest speech. Lots of laughs. Even more happy tears.

Plumette
-Plumette maintains a feather-like touch and learns how to paint from Maurice. Her landscapes become famous for her delicate brushwork.
-She has never lost an argument with Lumière. Any time he is being stubborn on a point of disagreement, she tickles him until he is willing to talk things out.

Cadenza and Garderobe
-After their long curse induced separation, Cadenza and Garderobe take a second honeymoon and are nearly inseparable.

Mrs. Potts and family(plus LeFou)
- Mr. Potts ends up moving into the castle and commuting to the village for work. Any time he has to leave he takes a moment to hug Mrs. Potts and Chip, studying their faces with a smile so that he never forgets again.
-Mrs. Potts and LeFou end up becoming good friends. She gives LeFou motherly advice and Chip ends up looking up to him like a big brother.
-LeFou makes sure to encourage Chip to follow his heart, be self assured (but remain humble) and to have the courage to stand up for himself, even if it means standing up to a friend.

How Mary Morstan destroyed the moral centre of BBC Sherlock

So let me just start by saying that no one wants two-dimensional, black-and-white characters. Flawed people are normal, believable, more interesting, more relatable. That’s all fine. What the first two series of Sherlock gave us was:

1. Sherlock Holmes: A self-appointed detective, occasional (mostly past, seemingly) drug user who solves crimes as a puzzle to keep his overactive mind occupied. Rude to people, a trait born more out of impatience to get on with saving lives without being hampered by other people’s relative slowness, and possible also because he falls somewhere on the autism spectrum and struggles with social skills. Tries to believe that he is cold, emotionless, but the opposite is palpably true: his facial reaction when Moriarty destroys the old woman in The Great Game. This line: “This hospital’s full of people dying, Doctor. Why don’t you go and cry by their bedside and see what good it does them?” (Read: wasting time wringing our hands won’t save this person’s life.) This exchange:

John: Charming. Well done.
Sherlock: Just saving her time. Isn’t that kinder? (Read: He attempts to be kind, successful or otherwise.

Sherlock’s face when he sees John wearing the bomb jacket in The Great Game. Sherlock admitting his fear in The Hound of the Baskervilles. Sherlock showing compassion by rescuing Irene in A Scandal in Belgravia. Sherlock’s tear as he was saying goodbye to John in The Reichenbach Fall. These two series are full of evidence that Sherlock absolutely does care about people, so much so that his brother reminds him to be wary of sentiment as though it’s an old refrain, routinely repeated. And the final touch: “I may be on the side of the angels, but don’t think for one second that I am one of them.” That’s it in a nutshell: Sherlock is no angel – but he is indubitably on their side. He solves crimes. He stops criminals from their actions. He saves lives. He is, despite his surface rudeness, a good person.

2. John Watson: An ex-army captain and doctor with an appetite for adrenaline, an inability to settle into civilian life, post-traumatic shock nightmares, and a dangerous violent streak. A man with a “strong moral centre” who waits until he believes it absolutely necessary to kill, then does it cleanly, quickly, humanely when he thinks he must. John is such an interesting mix. In one way of looking at it, there’s a lot more dark in him than there is in Sherlock. Something obviously went wrong in his family, too, as not one of his immediate family attended his wedding. There’s some resentment there, some thirst to prove his worth – and a corresponding hyper-willingness to assume that people doubt it, that people place blame on him, that they find him wanting in some way. Trust issues, indeed.

And yet he’s the one who’s mindful of when Sherlock is stepping on toes and hurting feelings, the first to pull him into line, to make sure he doesn’t go too far. They’re such a good team this way: John came back from the war with a hand tremor that made it impossible for him to practise medicine and a psychosomatic limp and blasted-up shoulder that made it impossible for him to be the “war hero” Sherlock describes him as during their first cab ride. They fit each other perfectly: Sherlock gives John a safe outlet to let out his demons and channel them into being a hero again, cures him of his impediments almost just by believing him unshakably, always, without one shred of doubt, no matter what his sharp-edged humour might suggest, even giving him back the ability to practise medicine again, and in turn John provides Sherlock with equanimity: someone to come home to, eat with, be normal with, someone who will save him from going too far either verbally or into the deeps to search out a criminal there, who will follow him down and shoot the criminals off his back. They save each other. They do good work: they’re good people.

And then series 3 gave us Mary. Mary the former secret agent gone rogue, Mary who kills for the highest bidder (confirmed in The Six Thatchers), Mary who scales a building pregnant to intimidate or kill a man who is blackmailing her. Mary who shoots a friend in the heart rather than accept his help and request his secrecy, or his help in breaking the truth to John. Mary the pathological liar, who layers lie upon lie upon lie, and feels that she should never have to apologise for anything, including all of these lies. Mary, who got snippy and resentful over John’s “months of silence” after she tried to murder his best friend, as though he had no right to his anger. Mary, who denied John the right to have a say in naming his own child after she put him through all of that. Mary, who would rather drug her friend and abandon her family rather than accept help. Mary, who abandoned her team without confirming that they were beyond rescue and started a new life with a marriage and a baby and not a second thought for the people she’d left behind. Mary, who never for a second left her profession, keeping her guns and her outfits and her secret info stashed in random walls in Norway, her vast collection of wigs and offensive accents.

This might have worked if the show had seen her arc through as the villain she clearly was. Mary was decidedly NOT on the “side of the angels”. Mary was not saving lives. Mary was taking them. Mary was a person whose life choices, past and present, clearly put her on the other side from Sherlock and John – two flawed, yet ultimately good men who do good work. Mary’s work was, in a word, bad. She was the opposite, really: an inherently bad person with a cute façade, who could giggle and make little jokes (that frequently had a sting buried within), who could roll up her pants instead of just getting them hemmed, who could tease and banter, but as soon as the pressure came back on, her real self came out again. The old habits came back: drug a friend, shoot them in the heart, run away without looking back, kill anyone who gets in your way. The fact is that the show did NOT see this arc through. The writers tried to spoon-feed us the façade, and it didn’t work, because the truth was so very visible: Mary was not a good person, and trying to pretend that she was is either completely unbelievable, or else destroys the entire point of who Sherlock and John are, in their essence. To have them take Mary on board without question, without her actual redemption by having felt or demonstrated remorse of any kind at any point for any of the very many terrible things she did, does not work! This is tantamount to Sherlock and John teaming up with Moriarty! Even if they’d needed information from Moriarty or something, it would have been a necessarily temporary arrangement, because they are not on the same team and never have been!

So, tl;dr version: we want characters who are nuanced, who have grey area, who are three-dimensional: but not characters who betray their own moral code by associating themselves willingly with someone they would normally oppose with all of their combined might. Writing their acceptance of Mary Morstan destroyed their moral centre. In a way, it made them no better than she was, and we know from the first two series that this just isn’t who Sherlock and John are. They’re good people. Mary wasn’t.

What Your Sign Has Taught Me
  • Aries: People are forever moving, and just because you're content with being stagnant doesn't mean everyone else is going to be too.
  • Taurus: People are going to do what they want to do at the end of the day. No amount of "warnings" or "Oh but I love yous" are going to stop them.
  • Gemini: Words are more than just words when they are articulated with passion and emotion. Be careful how you use them.
  • Cancer: There is an extremely thin line between a "joke" and blatant mocking and insulting. Sometimes, we cross it without even thinking, and that's simply unhealthy.
  • Leo: You should never apologize for dressing up, or spending money the way you want to, or being happy. If you're not hurting anyone, you should do as you wish.
  • Virgo: Some people just like to complain. It helps to take the edge off. So when they don't have anything to complain about, they might just pull something out of thin air.
  • Libra: As far as your first instincts about people go, you should trust them, at least a bit. Maybe she really is fishy, or maybe he can be a real douche. Just keep it in the back of your mind.
  • Scorpio: Just because someone can hold an intelligent conversation, talk with you all night, and make consistent, beautiful eye contact, doesn't mean they're hopelessly in love with you.
  • Sagittarius: There is still love in "tough love." While it can hurt, it does not create the absence of caring, nor should it.
  • Capricorn: It's okay to look up to others. Sometimes, through admiring another person's qualities, we can learn more about where it is we would like to someday be.
  • Aquarius: Although many people do not change, a change is possible. Sometimes it's just waiting for the right moment to develop.
  • Pisces: Don't confuse an emotional, sensitive person for a good friend or a good lover. Someone can be totally self-pitying and not care one bit how you feel.
MC as a Barista

I thought of this while in star bucks one day. What if MC worked at a coffee shop part time before meeting the RFA and continued to work there after joining and one of the members walked in and ordered a drink without realizing it was MC. So she obviously recognized  them from chat so she wrote a little message on their cups, only for them to realize it after they left. ?

I apologize if this is kind OOC? Feed back is appreciated!

Yoosung

  • Stands there for awhile before heading to the counter
  • MC smiles brightly at him as she recognized him.
  • Orders a Venti Hot chocolate
  • MC nods and says “Coming right up, can I get your name for the order?”
  • a small giggle escaped her as she nodded and walked away with his cup before writing down a special note for him.
  • “ It was nice to see you in person, Superman Yoosung! ^3^. Since I made you this drink…you got to return the favor remember? - MC ❤ ”
  • He thinks she’s cute but he can’t fall for the barista right? He’s already talking to MC via messenger!
  • They exchange thank you’s and he walks out.
  • Notices the little note on the side of his cup as he got to the bus stop to head to the University.
  • NON STOP SMILES FOR THE REST OF THE DAY
  • sends a text message to MC
  • “MC!!! Why didn’t you tell me you worked there?!! I can’t bring myself to throw this cup away now! It’s just a reminder that we are really under the same sky!

Zen

  • Walks in, obviously thinks the barista is cute
  • MC smiles as friendly as she could. She didn’t want to make it obvious.
  • His ego get’s the best of him
  • “I bet you’re a fan, You want a autograph? How about a Selca with me?”
  • She nods and takes out her phone real quickly. Takes the photo
  • he’s now grinning. she’s so cute ~
  • Orders a grande Tea.
  • MC nods as she turned to start his order.
  • Writes
  • “You were right, you are more handsome in person. Also I managed to get your fan club to come to the party ~ Hopefully I can get my hands on you too, Zenny ~ MC  ❤ “
  • After they exchange thank you’s he flashed her a playful smirk and winked.
  • Quickly she logged onto the messenger to leave the selca they took together with the caption
  • “…I ran into my favorite actor today hehe ~ !
  • [ photo attachment of her and Zen together ]
  • As Zen left he took a drink only to see the note in the corner of his eye
  • turning the cup. He read it
  • CUE HIM SPITTING OUT HIS HOT DRINK
  • debates to turn back or not
  • hears his messenger go off
  • reads what MC says and laughs as he seen her sign off real fast.
  • decides to send a text message to her
  • “You know I will be coming over here every day now to see my princess ~

Jaehee

  • She decided to go to a different cafe today
  • walks into MC’s work place.
  • Looks at the beverage board for a few minutes
  • MC standing there with a huge grin on her face
  • tries so hard to not say her name out loud.
  • as Jaehee walks up to the counter she orders
  • 1 for her boss. A espresso with 2 shots for him
  • 1 for her. A Venti coffee for her. ( 3 creams 4 sugars )
  • MC Nodded as she asked which cup is her drink.
  • Quickly writes a small note on her cup
  • “You can do this Jaehee! Remember I am here for you if you ever need support ~ Cheer up! - MC  ❤  “
  • and writes another note on Jumin’s cup
  • “…you better be nice to Jaehee today, She’s human too. - MC”
  • As she put the cup in the cup holders she smiled towards Jaehee
  • “…I hope you have a nice day, Miss. Jaehee ~”
  • That’s when Jaehee smiled and nodded, walking out she went back to the car. Passing one cup to Jumin.
  • a small pause
  • “Assistant Kang?”
  • Oh no… he doesn’t like it does he??
  • “…MC wrote some strange note on my cup”
  • looks at it. Gasps lightly as she noticed there was writing on her cup as well.
  • Smiles brightly as they drove past the cafe
  • NOW SHE CAN’T STOP SMILING
  • ALL DAY ALL SMILES. HAPPY BAEHEE
  • and a confused Jumin

Jumin

  • RARELY goes to a cafe on his own.
  • ASSISTANT KANG HELP
  • walks in on his own, instantly regrets it.
  • how does one order a drink? do they walk up?
  • do they come to him?
  • MC can’t help but suppress the giggling and smiling she’s doing
  • C & R Director is in her coffee shop looking so lost.
  • Decides to walk up to him with a pen and paper in hand
  • “…Excuse me J—Sir?”
  • a commoner walking up to him? so he was right they walk up to you
  • “…you seem out of place. You need help?”
  • a flash smile touched his lips before walking up to the counter with her
  • Asks which drink is the best.
  • “…you seem like the type of man who’d enjoy a regular type of drink. I can make you a grande french vanilla?”
  • nods as he paid and left a reasonable tip
  • LET’S JUST SAY HE LIKED THE HELP
  • AND MAYBE HER FACE
  • AND THAT NO-ONE TOOK TIME TO HELP
  • he’s waiting for his cup on the other side so she took liberty to write a small note
  • “…I cannot help but think you’re so cute while all flustered. Please say hello to Elizabeth 3rd for me. I hope you have a good day at work. - MC ❤ “
  • After she was done she passed it over to him
  • “Have a nice day, Mr. Jumin, sir ~ “
  • turns around and nods before walking to his car.
  • As he got in he noticed the small note on the side
  • reading it he couldn’t help but chuckle
  • “…Driver Kim. I want to come to this exact place every day at the same time.”

Luciel / 707 / defender of justice ….[Saeyoung]

  • Already knew she worked there. But since he was rare to post selca’s in chat
  • he decided to have fun with this.
  • Walks in and decides to grab a smoothie for the day.
  • RIGHT SOMETHING HEALTHY FOR ONCE
  • What Saeyoung forgot is that he recently posted a photo of himself in chat
  • MC knew who he was. Seven knew who she was
  • LET THE GAMES BEGIN
  • “…what’s your healthiest smoothie?”
  • “…I’d have to say the orange mango smoothie. It hits the taste buds”
  • “…okay can I get a hot chocolate”
  • 707 that little shit
  • “can I get a name for this order?”
  • “Tom”

  • he looked down at his cup and couldn’t help but laugh.
  • “my 606 ~ “

The Problem with Climaxes: A Meta on Structure and Narrative.

so there we are. at the half-way point of the last season of SKAM. the last clip has resulted in some divisive opinions. i’m not gonna delve into them, but what i do want to discuss is how specifically this last clip shows us some troubles with the structure and narrative of this season in particular, and with a focus on how the climaxes are put in the story.

now, climaxes are moments a story when a certain plot reaches its highest point: it’s an intense moment where the action and tension becomes overwhelming and really changes the story. think of isak’s last moment in s3 ep 5: the tension of what even’s deal suddenly is comes to a heartbreaking climax. what this clip, imagine all the people living life in peace, and this season in particular shows us is that all the plot points, all the stories of the season thus far, needed to have their climax in this clip. it’s understandable, it’s the last clip for the break, so it needs to have some incentive for watchers to tune in after the break. but here’s the problem with having all the climaxes in one clip: SKAM relies on reality. it’s one of its biggest selling points: it feels real, bc the characters, relationships and stories that we see sound and feel real, especially if we include the social media aspect of it all. and let’s be totally honest here: it is highly improbable that SO many things go wrong in one evening.

let’s look at all the plot points that have been risen during ep1-4:

- the russebuss/sara/vilde problem
- even’s mysterious past with sana’s brother and his friends (and how isak wants to know about it)
- noora’s problematic love life
- sana’s mother having trust issues
- sana’s love life with yousef

(also important is sana’s relationship with her religion, but that seems more of a theme underlying all these plots.)

so what do these plots have in common? all of these plots points had their climax in this particular clip; frankly all of them in a negative way to boot, except for the storyline with sana’s mother.not only that, the climaxes also were extremely rapid-fire after each other. vilde fucks over sana’s trust and goes behind her back; the boysquad and balloon squad fight each other; noora finds out about william and (suddenly) is seen kissing yousef. this all happens in a 10 minute clip.

personally, this reminded me of one of my less favourite scenes in s1: the christmas tree scene at the very end. in that scene, all the plots throughout the season had a small positive climax (eva hugging one person she had a problem with after the other, suddenly william shows up and apologises, eva closes off her storyline with isak, noora uses isak’s phone and finds some.. interesting sites..). which is all fine, but it all happened really quickly after each other. in one clip. and that makes it, at least for me, just less realistic. it’s clunky storytelling. having resolutions/climaxes so quickly after each other just doesn’t feel like real life, which SKAM purports to be. imagine that isak’s fifth episode ended not only with his heart broken, but also with his forced coming out, a big fight with his parents over his phone and sonja telling isak that “oh well he never loved you anyway, he’s bipolar”. that would just be too much.

climaxes are fine, even needed, but as s3 has shown us: some climaxes should take longer or shorter, and they don’t all need to happen in the same clip for it to cause development in character or story. because another problem of having all the climaxes for this story in this clip is that the stories do not get in depth development before the climax are reached, which is why – for example – the storyline with the russebuss felt so.. long and a bit boring. there could never be a real resolution bc then the climax in this clip wouldn’t work as well.

and because this is feeling unrealistic, it’s doing a disservice to the real lives of poc muslimahs. it’s as if everything is heaped onto sana at the same moment, without her being able to do anything about it bc the story doesn’t allow her to. it’s, to be quite honest, frustrating. and i hope this structure in the narrative gets resolved more spread out rather than all, like in s1, in the same clip or episode. i guess we’ll see in the back half of the season.

An insecure person will unconsciously seek out relationships with men who are insecure and who will make them feel more insecure. They will want the unavailable guys, the guys who can’t commit, the guys who have walls up. These are the ones they will feel infatuated by, not the ones who show real, genuine interest. Oftentimes this happens because on an unconscious level, the insecure girl feels that if she can break through his walls, or get him to change his ways,   then   she’ll really be worthy and valuable. This never, ever works. Instead, she just ends up compromising her integrity even further by chasing the relationship.

In second grade they had one of those in classroom toilets so if you farted people could hear you

I once sat in the bathroom for like thirty minutes and I guess the teacher figured out that I was reading a book in there cuz she banged on the door and forced me to come out.

She called me “princess” and let me tell you something.

I’ve always had a problem with female pronouns and names.

I got really pissed.

She then said “one day when you’re wrinkled you’ll appreciate not having to spend thirty minutes on the toilet.”

And I just blurted out “I won’t be wrinkled, I’m not white like you.”

Anyway that’s the story of how I met the vice principal and she became my hero cuz she laughed her ass off.

anonymous asked:

Could you pls fix the Supercorp couch scene? - Kara said she would always be Lena's friend but then couldnt help kiss her and supercorp ensues

“I will always protect you. I promise.”

She’s whispering because she doesn’t trust her voice above a whisper, and she’s whispering because she’s seen this look on her sister’s face.

On Alex’s face after she beats someone half to death and she drinks herself into a stupor because she’s washed all the blood off her hands but she can still feel it there, because she knows that she is unforgivable, and she knows that she is not the person she’d wanted to be. She’s the soldier she was trained to be.

She whispers because Lena is ready to run, to retreat, to relive her worst memories, to give in to exactly what everyone expects her to be.

She whispers because Lena will scare easily, right now.

And she hates herself for it, but a part of her likes it. The closeness. The whispering.

Because it’s intimate, it’s sensuous, it’s warm and it’s perfection, even as it’s agony.

She whispers, but she knows that even if she yelled it, Lena wouldn’t believe her.

Because her hand is still on Kara’s, draped around her shoulder, but her eyes are frozen, her eyes are crystals waiting to break. Her eyes are her soul, waiting to feel the shards shattering, penetrating her skin and making her as cold as her mother always wanted her to be, always tried to carve her into.

“You’re too good to protect me, Kara,” Lena whispers after so long that Kara almost forget that speaking was a form of communication.

“No one can ever be too good to protect you, Lena,” she whispers back, turning her face slightly, her heart pounding strangely, leaning her lips forward and pressing them to Lena’s temple gently, firmly, lovingly.

Friends.

Lena freezes, but only for a moment, and then she lets her body lean into Kara’s embrace, into her chaste kiss.

“I just told you that the only thing making me warm right now is the thought of a woman dying in prison, Kara. And you want to protect me? Be my… friend?”

She says the word with a kind of bitterness that Kara doesn’t want to let herself understand, just like she’s been trying not to let herself understand her defensiveness about Jack from the start, from the moment Lena said they were exes.

“Lena, you’re in shock. You’re in shock and she took away… she took away the love of your life.” Her voice is small and her voice is defeated, and Lena turns her face to look at her, and they both gasp slightly when they realize how close their faces are, how close to each other their lips are. That they’re breathing each other’s breath.

“Jack is…” Lena flinches. “He was… a lot of things. Certainly I loved him, and certainly seeing him again was… emotional. But I’m not… surely we don’t only have just one love in our lives, Kara.”

Her voice is soft, and it’s rich, and it’s a few octaves lower than it usually is, and her eyes flicker down to Kara’s lips, so close to hers, but so quickly that Kara’s sure she imagined it.

“Well, I wouldn’t know about that. I don’t… I think I’ve only ever loved one person… that way… and it didn’t work, and I… I mean, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to… I’m just… Kara.”

“Oh, Kara Danvers, you are so much more than that.”

Kara’s stomach lurches and she thinks of all the reasons she’s definitely from this planet, certainly not an alien, definitely grew up here, this planet, Earth, Earth, Earth.

“You’re brave and you’re kind and you’re relentless in your pursuit of justice – but real justice, not some half-baked system that locks up all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons. You… Kara, you…”

She won’t say that Kara is the only person who’s ever really seen her; that Kara wouldn’t have made her choose between her and her career, her life, her own name; that Kara was everything, before Jack came to town, and is still everything, even in the midst of Lena’s… grief.

She won’t say it, but she’ll show it.

She leans forward slowly, slowly, slowly, and she pauses only when Kara’s breath hitches, when her own breath stops, when she can feel Kara’s lips like electricity just a hair’s width from hers.

She pauses, and she waits, because maybe she’s stupid, and maybe she’s wrong.

“Lena, would you like it if I kissed you?”

She’s not wrong.

She smiles when she didn’t think smiling was possible, and Kara interprets her response perfectly, and her lips are soft and her lips are warm and her lips are promise and her lips are faith and her lips are hope, hope, hope.

But all too soon, she’s pulling away, and the gaping hole inside Lena grows ever wider.

“What – ”

“I want to kiss you, Lena. More, I mean. But not… you’re grieving, and I can’t… we can’t… I won’t take advantage of you, Lena. So I’m going to sit here, and I’m going to hold you. And when you’re ready to eat, I’m going to take you to that new Thai place if you want to go, or we can go back to my apartment and order it in. I’m going to be your friend. Until you’re ready to figure out whatever… whatever that amazing kiss meant to us. For us. If you want there to be an us.”

“Do you, Kara? Want there to be an us?”

Kara adjusts her glasses and Lena smiles at the familiar gesture. “I’m not going to answer that until you’re feeling… better. Alright? Does that sound okay? All that?”

Lena stares at her because Lena is used to things moving quickly, and Lena is used to wild and thrashing sex and Lena is used to emotions spilling over regardless of the consequences.

She isn’t used to someone protecting her heart. Not like this.

And that might just be the thing that thaws her enough to keep her Lena, not Lilian, when she starts to feel things more fully again.

“Yes. Yes, that all sounds more than okay, Kara. Thank you.”

“Like I said, Lena. Always. I promise.”

And this time?

This time, Lena believes her.

Auntie Bells

by reddit user Pippinacious

Auntie Bells wasn’t really my auntie, or anyone else’s for that matter. I’m not sure she even had any real family at all. It was just what everyone called her. She’d been a fixture in the neighborhood since long before I was born and there wasn’t a single person who didn’t at least know of her.

She was something of a living legend; a crazy cat lady type without the cats. It wasn’t unusual to look out your window in the dead of night and see Auntie Bells shuffling down the street, big walking stick clutched in one hand, her tameless hair shining white in the moonlight. And if you didn’t see her, you’d hear her. Auntie Bells took her name from the bracelets she wore on both wrists, strands of twine run through a countless number of tiny bells that tinkled with her every movement.

I just got really emotional thinking about how Asami loving Korra before she left for the Southern Water Tribe is 100% canon now. But that made me think about how she finally had Korra back and thought she had lost her after the fight with Kuvira and the new creation of the spirit portal.

In one day she was about to lose her father and the woman that she had loved for years. Like that’s fucking canon. It’s real, relatable, and so damn heart wrenching.
