she won't respond to it

how long did it take to write rutnam shore? and what's your process? like, what inspired you and how did you start?

oh boy well i started writing it several months ago, wrote about 2k words, got bored, then didn’t return to it til recently. i got really motivated and wrote 90 percent of it in about one week. then i spent a lot of time editing it, then charlotte spent a lot of time editing it, then i took charlotte’s suggestions, then i sent it to jessie to get a real reaction from someone who didn’t know the premise of the fic. then i posted it. so, technically it took several months, but in reality it was only about a week and a half of really working on it before i posted it.

my process is

  • movie comes on tv
  • i watch movie
  • while watching movie, i think “how would being chubby affect this character in this movie”
  • i then think “what if DEAN was the character in this movie and also he’s chubby”
  • “how can i make this a deancas au”
  • i message charlotte: “what if i wrote a _____ au”
  • charlotte says “u have to do it because now i want it”
  • i get super motivated and start writing
  • i lose steam after about 1k words
  • i let it sit in my drafts for months
  • i come back to it and write 20k words in 2 seconds

i like movies. i like sooperbloop. i like putting characters from sooperbloop into my favorite movies. it’s a very strict formula.

The signs as Lucille Bluth quotes
  • Aries: "Take it back. If I wanted something your thumb touched, I'd eat the inside of your ear."
  • Taurus: "I need you to track down Gob, I think he's trying to get me out of the house."
  • Gemini: "I don't know who that is, and I don't care to find out."
  • Cancer: "Here you go, hot tea. Because that's what you are: a hottie."
  • Leo: "If that's a veiled criticism about me, I won't hear it and I won't respond to it."
  • Virgo: "She thinks I'm too critical. That's another fault of hers."
  • Libra: "I mean, it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost, ten dollars?"
  • Scorpio: "I want to cry so badly, but I don't think I can spare the moisture."
  • Sagittarius: "Get me a vodka rocks." "Mom, it's breakfast." "And a piece of toast."
  • Capricorn: "If you're saying I play favorites, you're wrong. I love all my children equally. (Earlier that day) I don't care for Gob."
  • Aquarius: "Well, I'd rather be dead in California than alive in Arizona."
  • Pisces: "Look what they've done, Michael! Look what the homosexuals have done to me!"

Hi, new to working with gods but feel closest connected with Persephone, I've been wanting to give offerings to her but 1)wasn't sure how to and 2) wasn't sure what to offer I'm just worried she won't respond to me if I don't do 100%( like I said new to Gods)

Hi! Being new to Pagan worship is seriously very confusing, and it can be daunting. So let’s try to break this down as best we can.

Why give offerings?
Offerings as given as gifts, as little “thank yous” for existing, or displaying that you appreciate the God’s presence in your life.

How to give offerings
I’m going to direct you to this post if you don’t mind.

Will a God not respond to me if I don’t do it 100%?
First off, if you give an offering earnestly and show that you’ve considered it, it’ll work 100%, Guaranteed.

Unfortunately, relationships with the Gods aren’t that linear. I gave Hades offerings for years before I received a response. Many new worshippers don’t get responses right away. That doesn’t mean the God is ignoring you; you need to keep trying. Keep praying and offering to Her. She’ll respond, I promise.

Now ~ offerings for Persephone:

  • pomegranate
  • oil
  • bread
  • flowers, especially lilies, poppies and roses
  • seeds
  • incense (of any herbs or plants listed here)
  • tea (hot or sun tea)
  • honey
  • milk
  • wine
  • parsley or mints
  • asphodel or cypress
  • fruit-infused water
  • juices
  • art or prayers for Her

And anything else worshippers would like to add on.

Hope this helps! Have fun beginning your worship–SO exciting. .+(´^ω^`)+.

WOW OKAY THAT WAS MORE LIKE IT

HOLY GOD

MINAKO LOOKS LIKE SHE WAS ATTACKED A VERY ANGRY PACK OF CRAYOLA MARKERS

WELL NOBODY CAN SAY YOU WON’T STAND OUT

Beth is going to go for the kiss first. And she’s gonna test the waters. She’s going to kiss him right in the corner of the mouth and see if he runs. But he won’t run, because he’ll be frozen on site the moment she touches him. And then she’ll try again. And he’ll kiss back, just a little. And then she’ll go again. And shit will get real.

@therealjacksepticeye PLEASE READ THIS!!

a few jokes that aren’t cool at all have been going around the community for quite some time now and you don’t seem to realise that these jokes aren’t cool (which is okay, I think most people don’t understand at first why these jokes aren’t okay to make).

the jokes I’m talking about are deaf jokes and you might think, huh, what’s wrong with deaf jokes? well, my dear friend @deafsepticeye (who is deaf herself) has made multiple posts trying to explain it to you. you can read them here (jack, if you’re reading this please go over to her blog and read her posts).

please reblog either this post or one of the posts on her blog and tell us what you think about the deaf jokes. if you didn’t realise they weren’t cool but do now, say so. if you think we’re all just a bunch of overreacting tumblr girls and that there isn’t a problem, say so.

just, please, say something, my friend has been trying to reach you for months now.

and honestly I think it’s admirable how much she cares. I have autism so I imagine deaf jokes are pretty similar to autism jokes and if there was someone who said “watching this youtuber made me autistic LOL” people generally wouldn’t except that. now, imagine not only being those kind of jokes being okay but also said youtuber reblogging that post adding “didn’t you know that watching too many of my videos gives you autism? haha” and that’s what you have in this community but the autism jokes are deaf jokes. if I was her I would’ve unsubscribed and stopped caring ages ago so I really admire her spirit for trying to make this community a better and more accepting place.

because this community is amazing and everyone should feel welcome here, deaf, Deaf, and HoH people included.

also I wrote this post on my own volition so if anyone has a problem with it they can send me a message and not my friend, she has nothing to do with this post. she doesn’t even know I’m posting this. so, come at me. (also if you’re thinking about sending a mean/hateful ask to her about the deaf jokes, send it to me as well. god knows she has already gotten enough anonhate about this.)

TD;LR there are a lot of uncool deaf jokes in the community (read here why they are uncool) and I’d really like it if @therealjacksepticeye could say something about it (either positive or negative, just something).

Bernie Wolfe Appreciation, day 17

S18 E42 From Bournemouth with Love: Bernie is a kind and attentive human and boss to Morven in this episode. She starts by bringing her tea and a Napoleon cake. She listens to her, offers to tell Hugh Musgrove that Arthur has died. And later she goes to find her outside and talks with her, tries to help.

There were a few soldier references here that I found interesting.

The first thing she says to Morven is “Strong tea and sugar, what every good soldier needs to get them through the day.”

Outside they have this conversation:

M: I hope she doesn’t hurt him.

B: Why would she do that? Hugh was a soldier, he can handle anything.

M: Not all soldiers are strong.

B: No, that’s true. They’re not. I’ve seen lots fall apart when they saw their friends die. But the ones who manage to put themselves together they can get through anything. They wanted to make sense of the loss of all those young lives. They were soldiers with a job to do. They were going to make that job count.

It made me wonder how true this is for Bernie. Considering how sympathetic she is again and again, Bernie is not someone who has no feelings, or is out of touch with them. But I have wondered if she shuts her own feelings off when they overwhelm her / are bigger than she knows what to do with and instead focuses on “functioning.” I wonder if that’s a survival tactic. It would make sense for a soldier (especially one from a military family, if we go with JR’s headcanon). As long as you keep functioning at least you’ll survive, there isn’t always much room for anything else in the field.

It’s what she tries to do in this scene with Morven, to get Morven to focus on functioning, on doing her job, saving lives and making that job count.
It’s what she does with Raf outside too, she tries to make him focus on the job at hand, on functioning.

While there are definitely limits to the usefulness of this strategy, it is in itself not a bad one, and it’s the one she knows. She’s probably needed it herself as a soldier, as a frontline surgeon. And I have to admit that that’s also where I have a lot of sympathy for her.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Lexa gently kissed Clarke's cheek before returning her chin to it's resting spot. "I'm glad you are now calling Polis your home." Lexa's eyes watched as the sky began to darken and the first few stars twinkled to life. "I decided to stay because you're my home now." Clarke responded softly. "I never want to lose that again." Clarke turned her body so she was facing Lexa. "You won't Clarke." Lexa responded leaning her forehead softly against Clarke's. "You won't."
