she still has to be honest

Honestly? When I first watched Season 2 of Supergirl, I didn’t actually mind Kara and Mon-El. I thought he was sweet and I thought that they had potential, considering that her relationship with James was scrapped completely out of the blue for no real reason?

But after their first kiss, it just lost it. Mon-El turned into more of a douche, Kara lost her character development and has become someone who won’t be honest with herself or stand up for what she wants and keeps changing her mind about how she feels. Alex no longer has a story outside of Maggie (don’t get me wrong, I love them together but I want to see them still working as a team rather than every episode being focused on their relationship), J’onn has barely any screen time, and Lena was completely shunted after she did something completely heroic and hasn’t been acknowledged for it?

I don’t know. This season seems to be going nowhere. Every episode is random and is solely focused on a forced relationship and Supergirl just doesn’t seem to stand for what she used to.

My Reason for Doing Anything: Because Cute

Happy Family Day, everybody! In order to celebrate today and the season seven spoilers we just go over the weekend, I thought we could just do something fun.

No real analytical insight here (she says, as if there normally is), I just want to acknowledge how cute the families are in this dang show. I could argue we’re doing this because the characters and their relationships are so central in what makes the show as wonderful as it is but… let’s be honest. It’s just because they’re cute.

Okay, so, before we start with that cuteness, let’s set some ground rules. Honourary/found families are in the running, and a family only has to be two or more characters. Small families are still families. Also, if it’s debatable that the characters themselves see that relationship as family, I’ll use my own judgement on whether they count or not.

Oh, and I should specify since we’re not taking this seriously in the slightest, the order is more a suggestion than anything. I would in fact really love to hear what you think the cutest family really is, but hey, I’ll keep blabbing whether you want to join in or not!

Special Spoiler Warning: Season 7 spoilers will be mentioned or referenced. Once specific episodes air in season 7, this list will be updated.

Honourable Mentions

Here’s the families that didn’t quite make the cut:

  • The Dash Family
  • The Sparkle Family
  • The Flim-Flam Bros
  • The Filthy Family
  • Cranky & Miltilda
  • Scorpan and Tirek
  • Sunburst’s Family
  • Discord and Fluttershy (an upcoming book entitled We Are Family suggests they might be considered familiy in some fashion, as well as a brief implication in the Luna and Discord Friends Forever comic; however, it has yet to be implied in the show proper)
  • Background/Side-Character Families

If I missed anyone significant, feel free to tell me so I can add it to the list!

#10. The Flutter/Breeze Family

Let’s start out with something not everyone can agree on: Zephyr Breeze is a fun character, if nothing else.

Like every family in MLP, Fluttershy’s family reveals a lot about her upbringing just by being who they are in the present. There’s no need for a flashback when you can plainly see Fluttershy’s coddling parents, and Zephyr Breeze’s bombastic, thoughtless personality and how he walks all over his family.

To some, this understandably makes Zephyr unlikable, but for others still, the comedy of his character lies in loving to… maybe not hate him, but certainly recognize just how unlikable he is. His silly self-absorption puts him clearly in the wrong in the episode, but to be fair to the guy, even when he’s extremely inconsiderate he’s never really malicious. You can tell he does love his family, he’s just a little focused on himself to show it well.

Between Zephyr’s fear of failure and Fluttershy’s fears of… well, a lot of things, it’s quite endearing to see Fluttershy’s character development pay off, and allow her to take the competent big sister role when coming home for a visit.

#9. The Armour-Amore Family

Really quick thought: it doesn’t seem like ponies always change their last names when they get married, but if they use Cadance’s name (and they did carry on that name scheme in a way with Flurry Heart), they would be the Amore or “Love” family. Just throwing that out there.

Ah, Shining Armor, Cadance, and Flurry Heart. One of the only families we’ve seen built from the ground up—and in real-time, nonetheless!

Even though the world’s cutest plot device there has garnered a fair bit of controversy, I’d still personally say this new family is pretty dang sweet. They’re currently living out a happily ever after of sorts, although still proving that comes with its fair share of struggles and quirks.

This is definitely a family founded on love. In fact that’s probably why Flurry Heart is so special to begin with. Together, her parents wield the power of love, so who knows what they can achieve working together, as a sweet, loving family.

#8. Rarity’s Family/The Belle Family

Another Note: Their mom has some kind of cookie-related cutie mark—is that their family theme? Sweets? Because I’ve been struggling to figure out how family names work in Equestria and that’s the best I’ve managed to find for these four

Who says there can’t be any fun in “dysfunctional?”

Now he’s a family with a lot of character, even if we don’t technically really know half of them. Rarity’s parents have only had a speaking role once, in Sisterhooves Social, but wow, did that one appearance pack a punch!

With their unfashionable mid-western designs and hokey Minnesotan accents, you can instantly tell what Rarity’s relationship with them must’ve been like, just because of the contrast between them.

Even better, of course, is one of the three primary sister relationships in the show: Rarity and Sweetie Belle.

I really struggle with not putting this higher because of them. They so expertly capture the subtleties of an argumentative but loving sibling relationship. How Sweetie looks up to Rarity, but that also puts her in her shadow. How Rarity’s responsibilities can even make Sweetie’s well-meaning failures frustrating. They’ve certainly had to grow quite a bit to be as close as they are now, and that relatable struggle is what makes this family all the sweeter.

#7. Celestia and Her Students

This one was the hardest to justify. Because it would be one thing if the only reason I wanted to include it was based on my own silly headcanons (which I could do but I don’t want this list to just be personal choices), but I feel like there’s been enough evidence to back me up here.

Celestia’s a motherly character by nature, so it doesn’t come as a surprise when that comes through in her role as a mentor. But I think what clinches it is how to some extent, she really did help raise Twilight and Sunset. If nothing else, it’s sort of comparable to a nanny, I guess, but even then that doesn’t seem to cut it. In the comics, Twilight’s been shown to have had other teachers throughout her schooling, but Celestia’s been a constant part of her life ever since she got her cutie mark—and even now that she’s graduated as a full-grown adult.

And don’t get me started on the mother-daughter parallels in Sunset and Celestia’s relationship, or what little we’ve seen of it. The added depth that comes with knowing how meaningful that relationship is to them both only makes the fracture between them more filled with The Feels. I swear, the fandom’s all but made a petition to DHX to show us their reunion.

They both look up to her and want her approval in their own ways, and that… kills me. Slowly.

My gut tells me there will be those who argue that even if it’s a meaningful relationship, it’s not necessarily classified as family, which is true. Outside of fan-works, neither Twilight, Sunset, nor Celestia have explicitly referred to each other family in any real way. But, hey, I did say honorary family counts, and if the subtext is arguably there, that’s close enough for me!

#6. Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo

Pure cute factor winning out!

I was having a hard time with the order of the 8-6. They’re three extremely different types of relationships, so it’s hard to set them next to each other and compare, but I think I made the right call.

Because this one was a relationship that was theorized about/anticipated by fans for the first two and a half seasons—spawning countless “Scootalove” stories and art to combat the “Scootabuse” going on at the time (our fandom has weird phases). So when it finally actually happened?

For even more context, I used to think that if Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo actually were sisters, Rainbow actually wouldn’t be all that kind to her. Lauren Faust originally thought Rainbow would make a bad sister, too (I think because there’s a difference between choosing a sister and having to grow up with one).

But, I think by that point in the series, Rainbow had matured enough to be that role model and big sister Scoots needed, which made it all the more satisfying to see! And ever since, Rainbow’s still managed to surprise us with how tender and genuinely open she’s willing to be with this little squirt of hers.

On the down side, I feel like Scoots has picked up a tiny bit of Dash’s ego since they started hanging out more, but it’s all worth it for the moments they now get to share.

#5. The Cakes and The Pies

This is such a cheat it’s not even funny. But, the reason I grouped them together is the main reason they’re both so adorable: their relationships with Pinkie Pie.

On the one hand, you’ve got the Cakes, a young couple who adopted this wandering party-planner into their home. Later, they were blessed with two, adorable, trouble-making twins who absolutely love Pinkie.

Technically, you could question whether or not they see Pinkie as family, but come on. Come on.

And on the other hand, there’s the Pies. Wow, they’re delightful! For a family as dull as dishwater, they’re really anything but with their unique personalities and unquestionable love for one and other. I’d love to see more of them! Special shoutout goes to Maud and Pinkie’s relationship, of course, because I don’t know if there’s anything cuter than how much they clearly love each other.

That’s some real cute stuff right there.

#4. Twilight and Spike

Are they mother and son? Sister and brother?

I don’t know if we’ll ever have their relationship defined beyond “number one assistant,” but dammit if they aren’t an adorable pair. Spike was Twilight’s first friend. Twilight raised Spike ever since he hatched.

Even now that Spike finally has a dragon friend in his homeland, there’s nothing that can erase the meaningful bond these two share. Heck, Spike’s worst fear is Twilight sending him away, not needing him anymore, but as she tells him in season 3 opener, there’s absolutely no chance of that fear coming to pass.

What could be cuter?

#3. The Apple Family

You knew they’d be pretty far up here, didn’t you? After all, what could be more adorable than a family who (for whatever reason) lost two central members and had to reform even stronger?

Check out Days Gone By for some proper Apple family feels, BECAUSE WOW. I don’t know about you, but finally getting to meet their parents in the upcoming season has me hyped! It’s currently unclear whether the deaths the staff have confirmed and hinted at in the show will be retconned or not, but I can’t help it after waiting for this for so long!

It’s especially cute because we know how important family has always been to the Apple clan, even before the parents left the picture. The Apple family spans all the way across Equestria, from sea to shining sea, and all of them love each other dearly.

Tight-knit is definitely the right word, and the more times we’ve explored the relationships in this family, the more we’ve seen why they value family so much. They’re all apples to the core.

#2. The Royal Sisters/ The Royal Family

This one’s sort of a catch-all, isn’t it? In fact three of the other families on this nonsensical list can qualify as different offshoots of the royal family. Shout-out to Twilight’s B.B.B.F.F!

If it bothers you, that’s fair, but even if we’re strictly talking about Luna and Celestia, they still easily steal this spot. Their story was the original backbone behind this series, the first redemption arc, and an on-going source of guilt and pain. After a thousand years, their reunion must’ve been so special for them, and I think we’ve found that out more and more in hindsight, getting to know how deeply they love each other and the complex emotions involved in their tragedy (turned comedy, I suppose).

I think that’s part of what makes these characters so enduring. But more on that soon… (in another editorial, and hopefully in season 7 with a Celestia episode!)

For our purposes here, it’s more than enough to see these two ruling together, with their subjects, their friends, and their family around them.

#1. The Mane Family

Seriously, how could I not?

Yes, yes, you may think this is the biggest cheat of them all, but hey, way back in season 2, Applejack referred to them as honorary family. I don’t see why it shouldn’t count.

The best part of all this is that everyone can define this family differently. Want to keep it just the mane 6 and Spike? Go for it! Think characters like Discord, Starlight, Sci-Twi and/or Sunset should be included? Sure! Who’s gonna stop you?

Sometimes the most important family in your life are the people you’re related to, but as the old saying goes “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb”—meaning, sometimes it’s the family you choose that matters most.

And I think that’s what’s so special about this show, you know? The friendships in it can be as deep and meaningful as traditional family. That’s definitely something worth celebrating.

Good things to imagine

-amy wearing jakes flannels around the house

-jake wanting to cook a nice sweet dinner for him and amy so he facetimes charles the whole time for advice

-a sleepy amy in the winter, snuggled against jake in a cacoon of 600 blankets while they watch terrible hallmark christmas specials

-jake giving amy That Look when she starts talking passionately about a neat article she read

-amy and jake showering together, not even for the sexy times, but because they’re dorks and they really like bubbles and kissing in “the rain” and each other

-one day, jake has a day off but amy still has to go in to catch up on some paperwork so he honest to goodness considers going with her because he’ll miss her so much

-jake and amy knowing how each other likes their coffee

-amy can probably lowkey sing rlly well bc she’s musically experienced and shes always invinting cute little tunes when shes doing chores and they always sound like old do-wop songs and jake always sneaks recordings of her because wow he loves her

-jake and amy binge watching stranger things

-watching scary movies together, both acting tough at first but having to hide in the others shoulder by the end. Its a mess.

-couple’s cooking class that goes horribly south.

-they play that “watch me catch this random food in my mouth” game aaaaaall the time bc of their first date

-they never ever go seperate ways without saying “i love you so much” first

-jake being the little spoon and amy snuggling her face between his shoulder blades bc have you seen jake peralta’s shoulders?

-jake rarley ever waking up before amy but when he does he can hardly help himself from watching her sleep because god shes so soft and beautiful and amazing and he loves her so much

-when amy wakes up before jake, which is almost always, she likes to trace his face. His laugh linesm, his eyelashes, his /chin dimple/.

-they probably have so many cute stupid inside jokes its ridiculous

-they bet on everything but its bever an issue bc they are so solid okay?

-just…..jake and amy.

We have to talk about how amazing Anna Kendrick’s book is. How she dealt with bullying and slut-shaming and overwhelming anxiety in her career. How she still has all these insecurities which she is so open about with her readers and fans.

I’m sitting here reading this book and I’m relating to this woman who I’ve never met, whose life started out pretty similarly to mine, who has anxiety like I do and who is artistic and imaginative like me. She’s so honest about everything she’s felt and it’s bringing me to tears because I’ve really never read something like this before.

This book is so important.

When I was a kid my Mum worked at a book warehouse and she was allowed to take home books that were damaged or unwanted and, let’s be honest, parents don’t really buy their kids poetry books so I had a hell of a lot of them. Because of this I wrote poetry from a very young age. The oldest poem I have of mine was written when I was four, I still have the original copy. But I have a hazy recollection of writing others before it, safe to say, poetry has lived in me for a very long time.

I wrote, and wrote, and wrote, and read, and read, and read, and when the warehouse closed and I didn’t get anymore poetry books (because poetry books are expensive in comparison to other books), I re-read the ones I had until I could recite them, the spines were cracked, the pages were full of post-it-notes, torn into strips, marking what must have been almost every page. One day one of my favourite poets, Paul Cookson, came to the library next to my primary school. I had brought my copy of “The Very Best of Paul Cookson” with me and I got him to sign it, he seemed surprised that it was my copy and not a library book (possibly because it was so beaten up from reading) and I told him I wanted to be a poet. He was the first adult in my life to really encourage me towards that most unlikely of careers, and I kept that book by my bed for years. I’ve still got a lot of his others, but that signed copy has vanished now. I can still describe the cover though, light blue, with a fish on it.

Because of this encounter I kept writing, until, when I was in year six, my teacher asked the class what we wanted to be when we grew up. I said I wanted to be a poet, and he, a mean, proud man, one of those teachers that gave you the feeling that they never really wanted to teach children, told me that it was a “stupid and childish idea”. So, slowly, I stopped, my words running out.

Then, years later, in high school, we got asked to write a poem in class. So I did. And apparently it was quite good, because after that one of my teachers Rachel Hendra, took a keen interest in my work, and when, one day, I told her that I was stuck in a rut of rhyming, that I couldn’t write in free verse, she brought in her own personal copies of Ted Hughes’ “Birthday Letters” and “Crow”, and told me two things: One: They were incredible, and Two: If I touched the post-it notes, sprinkled liberally throughout the books, she would kill me. I read Birthday Letters in one amazing day. And then over the weekend I read it again. When I gave it back the post-its were still in place, my words had returned, and my understanding of poetry was forever changed.

That summer I was working at a festival, and I wandered to the poetry stage in the evening. It was the first time I had ever seen poetry performed and I was entranced. And then Joelle Taylor walked on stage and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

A few years, passed, I came out as Transgender, I struggled, and poured my struggle into the poetry, and kept writing. My hero, Anthony Head read my poetry, cried, read it again, and liked it so much that he agreed to write the foreword to my first book, and he was kinder and more encouraging than you can ever imagine.  Then, a few years, a lot of events, and a stupid amount of poetry open mic’s (which Hendra and a few other teachers would turn up to in order to -kindly- heckle me) after I had first seen her Joelle came to my hometown. The organiser of the gig asked me if I would perform as her support act, and of course I agreed. After my performance she asked me to apply for Slambassadors, the UK’s biggest youth poetry slam, and I was a winner. I sent a photo of my trophy to Anthony and he posted it all over his social media, he was so excited for me, more excited than any adult in my life had ever been about any award that I had ever won.

When I was a kid I was always told to be something normal, something boring, something… less. I fought my way up. Past the expectations placed upon me. When I was young I was just a young carer. A trouble maker. I was the kid from the failing school, who got into fights, was excluded from school, the kid who always scrounged food from others, whose parents drank too much, whose grades never quite lived up to expectations, who wouldn’t ever, quite, allow themselves to be fitted into the boxes laid out for them.

Now I’m twenty. I’m the first member of my family to go to university. I have two solo poetry collections that have sold to fourteen different countries. I have won a national poetry award, and performed in the final of the Roundhouse slam. I am following my dreams, and doing what I was told by so many was impossible, because some people, these people, told me that it WAS possible, that the stars were within my reach, and thanks to them I am dedicating my life to reaching them.

amihanmayari  asked:

I adore your fics!! So excited for your book <3 Prompt for Bellarke celebration: Bellamy is a hairdresser and Clarke is the type of person who gets haircut to be Dramatic after breakups and other disasters. Thank you!!!!

If he’s being honest with himself, Bellamy has to admit that he’s least partly responsible for what’s been going on with Clarke.

Fine, maybe entirely responsible, considering he’s the one enabling her.

Still, he startles a little when she barges into his apartment, bottle of vodka in hand and a 7-11 bag in the other.

“Fuck,” he swears, zeroing in on the boxes of dye that are visible through the see-through bag. “What happened?”

“I got into a fight with my mom.” She sniffs, her knees wobbling dangerously before she plops down on his lap, sinking her head against his shoulder.

His arm goes around her- instinctive at this point- keeping her steady. “What happened?”

She peeks up at him from between her lashes at that, teeth snagging against her bottom lip nervously before she goes, “I was thinking about telling you while you worked on my hair.”

He groans, reaching over to twist a lock between his fingers. She had opted for pink, the last time, and the ends are now faded out to a cotton candy shade which he loves. “Clarke.

“What? I was thinking blue this time. Blue would be nice.”

“I shouldn’t be encouraging this,” he grumbles, lifting her in his arms carefully before setting her down on the sofa. “You should be engaging in your other vices, like drinking and eating a obnoxious amount of french fries.”

The look she shoots him is distinctly puppylike; wide-eyed and pleading coupled with a little head tilt. He’s a goner even before she throws in a soft, “Please?”

Huffing, he starts unpacking the items in the bag, flipping her off when she begins to cheer raucously.

I don’t think anyone’s gonna read it but I just needed to get it out so, here it goes.

Carol doesn’t care about Ez*kiel. She doesn’t like him in a romantic way and that is perfectly clear. Still, some people keep claiming it will happen and that Daryl “would totally support it”. That’s what I want to talk about because it bothers me.

If you are honest about this, without interpreting things to favor your own ship, and if you see Daryl for who he really is, you know he loves carol (and she loves him too).

It has already been said countless times (and some people seem to still don’t get it) that he’s not the sexy guy who’s gonna find someone and “bang them against a tree” in a matter of a few episodes. He won’t fall in love and open up to anyone he doesn’t feel comfortable with, or that he doesn’t trust.

He could be gay? Yes, he could, but we have no indication of that so far.
But that’s not the reason he’s definitely not in love with J*sus.
He is not in love with J*sus because they share nothing.
He didn’t fall for him after sharing a few minutes of screen time on one episode (where they wanted to kill each other).
J*sus doesn’t know him. Daryl is not comfortable and still doesn’t trust him. And if you truly understand daryl’s character at all, you know he needs to feel safe to open up. He needs to feel confident enough to be vulnerable.

He is someone who only feels attraction after knowing and trusting the other person.
And if you take all that in consideration, you know there’s no one he could be in love with but Carol.

Cause daryl’s the boy who has been beaten and mistreated his entire life. Childhood, adulthood, pre and post ZA.
Daryl’s the boy who grew up insecure, and who flinched at any sight of a nice gesture towards him cause he couldn’t help but expect violence and aggression coming next.

But still, he is the man who plucked a flower from a bush and gave it to a woman who was in pain, while the world around seemed to be in oblivion to what she was feeling.
He was, and still is, the man who made one of the most vulnerable gestures, to try and ease the pain carol felt.

But can you imagine though what went on his mind while deciding to take that flower or not?
The whole internal debate he must have had.
And being an introvert, we don’t usually reach out, unless we truly CARE for the person AND feel safe to do so.
That’s why the cherokee rose scene is my favorite, and moved me so much when I watched it. He wouldn’t have done it unless he cared deeply. Unless it really mattered.

I do think he’s been loving her in silence since the very beginning.
In my head, he started watching her at the camp in season 1 because he realized what was going on with her husband, and because he noticed her behaviors were a lot like his.

By observing her so much, he ended up head over heels for the woman he realized she was: strong but sweet. soft but fierce. a generous nurturing mother who could blow you to pieces if you looked at her loved ones the wrong way.
And I don’t think he realized how he felt until much later. Maybe even after the prison (he had to lose her, to realize he loved her), but that’s another story.

And because of all that, there’s no room for anyone else.
Not for R*sita, even if I really like her character, no room for J*sus, no room for B*th even, if she was still alive (which she is not).

Daryl is in love with Carol and there’s no way he would be fine with c*rzekiel. He wouldn’t be ok with it. He would be devastated once again.
He would lose his beacon of hope for happiness, after all the suffering he’s already endured throughout his life.

So, I’m sorry but I can’t ship Carol with anyone else but him.
It’s unreasonable for these two broken characters, who have found strength in each other all those years, who have showed so much love and tenderness, to be put with random people who know little to nothing about who they are.

If you read all this, I just wanna say thank you and I’m sorry for any mistakes I probably made, since english is not my first language (but I love it more than anything ❤)

So Loo Brealey just posted this on twitter and I wanted to share it here:

You know I’m here for BBC Sherlock crit. (More than here for it, let’s be honest). But seriously why attack the actress who plays one of the characters for the writing of said character? Molly Hooper is the beacon of light on that show. She’s probably the most likeable character in the whole damn thing.

It’s not (imo) the fact she loves Sherlock which makes her weak. I think that implication is antifeminist in itself. Why does loving someone make a woman weak? It shouldn’t. It doesn’t.

Molly has a similar problem that Sansa Stark had (and sort of still has) on GOT where because she’s ‘normal’ and displays more traditionally feminine character traits people have an issue with that. But why? Where is the issue with that? Feminist media doesn’t mean writing women who behave in more traditionally masculine ways. That’s ridiculous. Some people say Mary is a more feminist character than Molly because she shoots people. Rubbish mate. Let women be women. Give them the chance to be whoever they please. Molly isn’t weak because she won’t beat a person up. A female character with a gun does not necessarily = strong female character (something I wish more male writers would get).

My issue with Molly is not Molly herself, or Loo Brealey’s portrayal of her, which has been consistently really good and true and lovely in a show which is often pretty dark and has got kind of uncomfortable in later seasons. It’s the way Molly is used.

Why Ochako Is Actually the Best WSJ Heroine Out There

Alright alright alright alright alright alright

I was going to make a post for Ochako sometime in the future but I recently saw some twats on the internet made a poll for worst WSJ heroine and I saw Ochako on there as the worst and I’m so sorry but as an individual who has SO MUCH LOVE for this character, I can’t sit still and allow people to call her the worst WSJ heroine. I just can’t. Hate her all you want, this world isn’t filled with love and positivity and rainbows all the time but to call her the WORST? No way man. No way.

I mean to start she is such a loving and caring and honest character who is positive and tries the best in everything she does. Sure she needs help once in a while but you know who ELSE needed help? Bakugou when the evil alien thingy was swallowing him up. Izuku needed help both mentally and physically when it came to his new quirk. Hell even a pro hero needed help from Iida to go warn the others. Does that make them automatically weak and not able to take care of themselves?? Absolutely not.

Ochako isn’t a damsel in distress so why are people making her out to be that way??

I mean did you not see how WELL she handled herself at the entrance exam?

Did you not see how WELL she handled the USJ incident?

Did you not see how EXCEPTIONALLY WELL she fought against Bakugou during the Sports Festival?

Or what about the end of the term test?

Or what about when she was fighting with Himiko?

Yea, last time I checked, she can handle and take care of herself pretty ok.

And adding on top of that, she isn’t some character that is only there to either suck the dick of the MC or even there to show her tits off to every single male character in the series.

To start off, I mean have you seen hero costume?? Or even her school uniform?

She is literally covered from head to toe and doesn’t have the tits the size of Erza or even Meiko. She’s incredibly modest and her character legit doesn’t revolve sex appeal or any of that stuff that most Shounens contain. The most “fanservice” we got from her is when she appeared with her hero costume

But as you can see, it’s not even real fanservice. It’s just Deku finding a GIRL HIS AGE ATTRACTIVE WHO IS WEARING A REALLY CUTE HERO COSTUME AND LOOKS CUTE IN IT (because apparently a male character can’t find a character attractive unless her tits are hanging out and he falls head first in them smdh).

And let’s forget she’s not just there so Deku can have a girl on the side who he can fuck after the series is over like no. As much Izuocha is a prevalent ship in the series and the one that’s most likely going to be canon unless Deku discovers he is gay and goes after Todoroki’s ass, she’s not there to cater to the MC’s needs or be the individual who puts her life at risk EVERY TIME for the MC and doesn’t have any other goal than to ride his ass at the end. Like no.

This is a girl who is going through all of this hero training so she can help provide for her family. She’s not doing this so she can roll around in a pool of money. She wants to be able to help her family and be there for them. I mean look at this:

She even tried to help her mom and dad when she was a LITTLE kid but her parents told her to pursue her dream WHICH she is doing so she can help them out.

I mean oh my gosh I know I have so much more to say on this and I will probably write a better version of this since this is mostly me just ranting uncontrollably because someone messed with one of my all-time favorite character but I’m just BAFFLED that someone could say she’s the worst WSJ heroine out there. Like??? Not to call out their characters but have you SEEN some of the other heroines in other shounens cuz?? They’re not always as well written as Ochako is, js.

i’ve said this on twitter b4 but it’s time to be honest with tumblr i guess. so listen you fools. listen. vax/keyleth is really good. it’s REALLY GOOD. they’re both so fucking awkward and weird and genuinely enjoy each other’s awkwardness and weirdness. keyleth is on an international girl scout mission and she ends up bringing home this emo punk who has never had a real job in his life and they’re going to live on a farm with 40 llamas and walk around barefoot like hippies. I’m still like on episode 22 so all I’ve had was their terrible undercover marriage plot (that was the light of my life) yet I was sold early in the underdark adventure when she turned into a tiger, cuddled up on him, brought him a gross bloody heart and vax’s reaction was “gross but i fucking love it babe.” let joy into your lives. embrace this miracle pairing.

Im really glad with how they did Alex’s realization of liking girls in this episode. And I loved that they didn’t immediately jump to the Maggie and Alex romance. Alex isn’t even able to say the word gay yet so she’s still figuring herself out.

I love that its all slowburn cause thats the best kinda fanfiction and let’s be honest, thats what season 2 of Supergirl has been so far, a big, gay multi chapter fanfic

Olivia is definitely NOT over Fitz

I was THRILLED to see the Olivia/Fitz interactions in 6x02. The biggest takeaway from the episode was that Olivia still clearly has feelings for Fitz and she is NOT HAPPY at the idea of him seeing other women. The first hint we get of this is when she goes to dinner with an old friend (whose name is Angela) who happens to be the head of the FBI. I loved the dinner time conversation that these two had because, as it turns out, Angela has something of a crush on Fitz (who wouldn’t let’s be honest) and Olivia just cannot at the idea that another woman may have feelings for Fitz. Though she plays off her feelings for Fitz like she doesn’t care, it is PAINFULLY obvious she hasn’t moved on (her facial expressions say it all). She masks her feelings, however, under the guise of giving Angela “permission” to ask Fitz on a date. Two major things I took away from this interaction: 1) Olivia may claim she’s moved on but her body language says otherwise and 2) she seems to have wanted to use Angela to test Fitz to see if he had moved on enough to actually date another woman (in this case, a friend from her past).

As good as the dinner scene was, though, the BEST scene of the episode came when Olivia found Fitz and Angela on a date on the White House balcony. The look on her face when she found them was PRICELESS!!!!! There was no denying she appeared incredibly jealous at having found them and was positively seething underneath the surface. You could see the whole “I know you aren’t on a date with my man on my balcony” on her face and it was just… MAGICAL (I mean really. I half expected her to pick up a chair and do the same to Angela that she did to Andrew).

So, I am glad that it is Olivia who is jealous for a change. She needs to be the one to go after Fitz and earn him.

I LOVE YD’S EYEROLL HERE.

Even she’s sick of Holly.

Yeah, BD might be mopey and stuff but she is still a diamond.

And if I had to guess she has some pretty sick ice powers.

HER VOICE

I LOVE HER VOICE SO MUCH, SHE’S INTIMIDATING WHEN SHE WANTS TO.

Looks like Sapphire…. has cold feet.

Eh?

Ehh?

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

As always the gay saves the day.

Now to be honest, that’s a pretty great way to solve this.

I mean sure Blue could still accuse her of acting without guidance but it’s the best they have.

anonymous asked:

Maybe some tips on learning german?

I’m going to be very honest with you here:

Asking native speakers for tips about how to best learn their language will almost never work. We didn’t need any techniques to learn our mother tongue, we have been taught how to speak it practically since our birth.

Therefore I would love to redirect you to @languageoclock ’s account. She speaks German exactly the same way a native speaker does and her pronunciation makes you think she actually is German herself, but, shocker, she has never been to a German-speaking country and still managed to learn how to speak accent-free and grammatically correct German. Go have a look! She will gladly help you!

All the best 😘

Hey I love your blog so much and can you do/have you done a gryffindor girl who studies and wants to do well in school? Not like as obsessed as hermione but like top of the class still?

  • She tends to sit up front with the Ravenclaws, but none of them can read the notes she takes
  • She works on essays weeks before they are due and has good relationships with teachers so they look over the essays for her
  • Her enthusiasm makes her a very well-liked student by her teachers, but to be honest the Gryffindors don’t get her excitement for mundane things like the history of the modern magical monetary system
  • But she doesn’t brag about it, and the other Gryffindors are pretty accepting that it’s just the way she is
  • Gryffindors in her grade are always asking her for help but she would never write an essay for them no matter how much they asked
  • She can be seen giving little lessons on how to structure an essay, however, or why you should never mix lemongrass into a potion while the fire is still lit; just little things that can help others
  • She is also the one everyone turns to when something happens they can’t explain outside of school too, like who decides where the Quidditch World Cup will be and why anyone would ever want a solid gold cauldron anyway
  • All the Gryffindors in her class complain loudly when Ravenclaws are called on over her and get house points for answering, saying that she should be called on more and that the teachers just like Ravenclaws better, which isn’t true but they still say it
  • Older students bringing her tea and cookies as she studies for OWLS because they can see how much the pressure to stay top of the class is getting to her
  • She is the last one to finish every written exam, and half the class waits outside to ask her what she got on the particularly hard questions
  • Her favorite place to study is outside; even when it’s cold you can find her hidden behind the greenhouses with a small fire going, books and newspaper articles floating just off the frozen ground
  • She never misses any party, Hogsmeade visit, or Quidditch match though; she likes to keep things balanced and the other Gryffindors keep her grounded
  • Since she doesn’t procrastinate she often tries her best to help those that are doing their work last minute by checking their grammar and hushing noisy students in the common room
  • She does get in trouble for arguing with teachers and older students from time to time; she tends to speak before thinking things through, especially when she knows she is right
  • But her friends are always there to back her up or be outraged by any less than perfect marks to keep her in a good mood, since she tends to be overly self-critical and a bit dramatic
  • While she is gifted at school, she couldn’t see herself in any other house than Gryffindor; and her argumentative nature, enthusiasm, and  unabashed nature makes her fit right in

Lisa: “- Piglet”
Paolo: “- Eeyore”
*long hug*
Lisa: “- Gaah! I forgot how much I hate that ferry”
Paolo: “- Hehe. yeah… How’s college treating you?”
Lisa: “ - Can’t wait to get out of there to be honest, I’m sick of noodles and sims walking around in sleepwear looking baked… So, how is she?”
Paolo: “- She still has those itchy spots, tired… but she’s looking forward to having us both here.”

on Quill’s pregnancy

I know a lot of people are less than thrilled about it just because pregnancy tropes, especially in sci-fi, can be so iffy, and I 100% get that but I was also thinking about why Ness would have made this choice (cos I’ve seen zero confirmation of KK herself being pregnant so I’m not convinced it’s bc of that)

and what I came up with was like, Quill’s motivation as a character, from a narrative standpoint

because up until now she’s had two main motivations, right? get her freedom, and avenge her people by seeing the Shadowkin destroyed

but think about it, with the end of series 1, both of those things have been achieved, and where would that leave her? Ness needs her to stick around, to still be committed to these kids and this school, somehow

but let’s be honest, it’s not an easy thing to swing when it’s Quill, who by the end of series 1 has loyalty only to Tanya - her feelings around Charlie are too complex given that she’s wanted him dead for a long time, but they are also the last of their species and there’s still something there between them, maybe a twinge in her gut when she thinks about being the only person from Rhodia still alive (a twinge that I suspect was part of why she saved him)

Quill would be far too inclined to just strike out on her own and become a recluse somewhere, or possibly try and get off planet - hell, I’m still half convinced she might try that next season, though I think the “we have a poet on Earth” is telling of her having become more attached to Earth than even she might think

what she would do is nearly impossible to predict simply because she would have no driving motivation - which is, you know, a serious problem for a character

point is, that suddenly, with the pregnancy taken into account, she has one - to keep her child safe, to use it to continue the legacy of her people, just like the Quill goddess she so embodies

and it’s like, the more I think about it, the more perfect it is??

(like okay sure it’s not a typical Quill pregnancy, the baby is half shapeshifter and it’s a baby not a litter, but the point still stands)

“Everything I did, everything, was for my people!”
“Nevermind. I will take you into battle. I will take you to the very end of this world.”

I’ve always said that Quill’s loyalty to her people, dead or alive, is her defining character trait, and I stand by that. So after their being avenged, and her reclaiming her identity as a Quill warrior as she regains her free will, to have her storyline be about the continuing of her people’s legacy, is actually….really fitting??

Not to mention, Quill culture is gets more interesting the more we learn, and the idea of a Quill, especially her specifically, having to be a mother when NO QUILL HAS EVER BEEN ONE, is nothing short of fascinating and hilarious at the same time. There’s so much potential of all kinds in that.

(Give me Quill holding the baby from her like “what the fuck do I do” and Matteusz being like “for fuck’s sake” and taking it like a pro. Give me Quill with fierce maternal instincts that shock the hell out of her like “wtf??”, OR alternatively give me Quill with ZERO maternal instincts whatsoever because Quill as a species have never needed to have them. Who knows? But you see what I mean? The possibilities are fascinating.)

So basically like, I know tropes suck and being worried about how a male writer will handle a sci-fi pregnancy is 140% valid - and that some of y’all just have pregnancy squicks - but yeah I think I can maybe understand why he felt the need to take her story in this direction, and I’m actually pretty keen for the many possibilities it’s hopefully going to present us with.

Thoughts?
