Tayrn was hunched over, almost in tears. She gripped her head as if she was in pain. The amnesia she was suffering from must have been letting memories slip through… unpleasant ones..
“Tayrn.. what do you mean? What’s happening again?” Aubrey asked, her voice shaking as she spoke.
“….” Tayrn was silent. She just stood there, head in her hands.
“I… I can’t help feeling like this has happened to me before… where everyone I loved has left me…” Tayrn grasped her head once more. “Oh god it hurts… I… I don’t have time for this… where’s Soren?… Aubrey, where’s Soren?”
“I… I don’t know… I only looked away for a minute but he.. he wandered off… I thought he might be with you.” You could hear the fear in Aubrey’s voice. This island wasn’t safe alone. It was so easy to get lost out here.
“We were able to get into the lighthouse, there’s shelter there, but it’s going to get dark soon. If we don’t find Soren before nightfall, I’m not sure that I can lead us back…” I didn’t like what I was saying, but it was truth. “We need keep looking, and fast. Come on. Let’s get moving.”
