she played this role so well

What a shit show. SO much wrong here

Please note how the main role of the one black woman Pepsi focuses on is to play servant to Kendall while she goes off to “end racism” (or something) by making sure that the police are well hydrated before they don riot gear and go off to the #BLM protests to terrorize all the black activists Pepsi didn’t want represented in their “social justice” ad

And yeah, the BLM activists and Standing Rock protectors who been out there getting pepper sprayed, arrested and worse, got a nebulous non-apology from Pepsi, but Kendall—who has NEVER protested for anything and who has certainly already cashed a very fat paycheck from Pepsi—got the real sincere apology

OMG WHAT IS THE CONTEXT OF THAT IT WAS A BIG LOAD QUOTE

lmaoo the interviewer was playing around and asked niall to “role play” that the guy was a father of a girl that was going out with niall on a date and how would niall explain the song, slow hands, to him. and niall said something like “well it was her that hit on me, so it wasnt my fault and so i asked if she wanted to come back and she said yes” and the guy was like “and then she asked to do laundry, how do you get sweaty doing laundry?” and niall said  “…..it was a big load” and then everyone started laughing and he realized what he said and was like “uh, big load of wash….it was a big load of washing…..” and everyone was cracking up and then he goes “yeah, that just happened…” and laughed lol he tried rEAL hard to save himself lol

I just saw Wonder Woman and...

It was amazing!!!! Here are a couple of the highlights (may contain SPOILERS also lots of gifs, none of them are mine)

  • Gal Gadot is pitch perfect as Wonder Woman. She nails every single scene she’s in and she can do it all…romance, comedy, action, drama. Her version of Diana is the Wonder Woman I’ve always admired. She’has an innate sense of good and a strong desire to help people. She can’t just stand on the sidelines if she knows she can help and make a difference.

  •  She’s also adorably naive as a fish out of water adjusting to man’s world and this is also where a lot of the comedy comes from.

  • Oh and there’s absolutely no denying that she’s ridiculously gorgeous. I fully believe that she actually is a Greek goddess.
  • Chris Pine is fantastic as Steve Trevor. I’m so glad DCEU snatched up the last Chris and cast him in this role. Steve is brave, he’s kind, he’s funny (his impression of a German officer was incredible) and like Diana, he has an innate desire to do good.

  • He’s supposed to be a spy and observe and report back but he can’t just do that when he knows that millions of lives will be lost if he just follows everything according to plan.

  • Also, Chris plays so well off of Gal Gadot. Their chemistry is just so good and I was rooting for them the whole time.

  • I know they predate Steve and Peggy in the comics, but their chemistry and the nature of their love story reminded me of Steve and Peggy’s relationship and made me enjoy it all the more. I adored all of their interactions together starting with their Little Mermaid like introduction with Diana saving his life and dragging him onto the beach,

  •  their scene in the pools with Diana clearly checking him out,

  • the whole scene on the boat and the “ALL RIGHT I’LL SLEEP WITH YOU”,

  • Steve’s reaction to Diana in regular clothes and Diana saving them

  •  and pretty much everything they did together.
  • Themyscira (a.k.a. colour porn)…Diana’s home is undoubtedly the most gorgeous place we’ve seen in the DCEU thus far. Colours abound EVERYWHERE. Diana rides a horse through a field of bright yellow flowers, she dives into vibrant blue waters, and the field she trains in is a lush green one. I want to live there and never come back.
  • The action scenes were kick ass! There was a bit too much slow mo, but overall I liked all the hand to hand combat scenes and really seeing Diana in her element, showing us what she’s capable of and handling he sword, shield, lasso, and bracelets like the bad ass warrior goddess she is.

Everyone needs to go see this movie because it is awesome and just look at this beautiful, precious face:

Sherlock was at his seat, with his blue eyes glued to his phone. (Y/N) was sitting at the victim’s chair, with her laptop on and doing some research. John was at his seat, staring awkwardly at the two of them.

“So…” John spoke, “You’re fine?”

“Yes.” Sherlock and (Y/N) replied in unison.

“No tension or anything?” John continued.

“Nope.” (Y/N) popped the last syllable.

“Oh, that’s great.” John nodded.

“I don’t get why the killer would tie them.” Sherlock complained, “He had them right there, why would he tie them? Did they try to run away?”

(Y/N) giggled and Sherlock snapped his head to look at her. With a cocked eyebrow, he silently asked her for an explanation.

“You really don’t know what fetishes are, do you?” She inquired playfully.

“It’s a sexual fixation… What does this have to do with the killer?” Sherlock fumed.

“The killer is a kinky bastard.” Watson stated and (Y/N) nodded in agreement.

“It doesn’t make any sense!” Sherlock roared, dropping his phone to the coffee table and throwing his hand up.

“It also didn’t make any sense to you that someone could be aroused by…”

“SHUT UP!” Sherlock commanded and stormed to his room without allowing neither (Y/N) or John to argue back.

Also Kari can’t remember so this one shot is 3 months old but never before posted so enjoy y’all.

NO HATE AGAINST DANNEEL. I LOVE HER - THIS IS FICTION. PRETEND SHE IS HAPPY WITH SOMEONE ELSE

LATER EDIT: THIS TURNED INTO A SERIES SO  MASTERLIST

You groaned. You had no idea why you had agreed to come to this party in the first place. Well, Misha and you had stayed close friends after your recurring role as an angel on Supernatural, back when it was still in it’s fourth season.

You had had a thing for the green eyed actor that played Dean Winchester back then too. You just never had the courage to tell him that. Years had passed, and the moment you had walked through the front door you knew that hadn’t changed. Your eyes landed on him standing in the corner of the room chatting with his co-star and tv brother, Jared Padalecki. Your heart practically jumped into your throat when you saw him. He hadn’t aged a day, but he had gotten all the more sexy. His freckles still enhanced his perfect facial features. His shoulders were still broad and his bowed legs perfect for you to fit in between. Not that you ever had, but a girl could dream right.

You shook your head, annoyed with yourself for letting these thoughts re-enter your mind. He was way out of your league, there was no way he would ever look twice at someone like you. Daydreaming of him was only going to end one way. In heartbreak. Yours.

The voice of the Star Trek Enterprise could be coming to Discovery

“One of the most iconic voices from the entirety of Star Trek‘s history might live on in some form if the man credited for the franchise has anything to say about it. Majel Barrett was an actress for over five decades but is most well known for voicing the Enterprise computer. According to a tweet from Gene Roddenberry’s official account, who was married to Barrett from 1969 until her death in 2008, Barrett’s voice has appeared so often that there might be enough data that her voice could live on, possibly in the newest iteration of Star Trek.

Barrett  is one of the few actors to have reoccurring roles on multiple Star Trek shows. She’s played many small roles over the years, but her most famous is as the voice of the Enterprise ship’s computer, which she did in the original Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation. She was also the voice of the computer in Star Trek: Voyager, and was the narrator in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. making her one of the most prolific computer voices in all media.

Star Trek is a juggernaut, covering decades of film, television, and just about everything else you can consume. Considering its long history, along with the rampant opportunities for crossovers, it’s surprising that so few actors have had reoccurring roles in multiple series. If Barrett does appear in the new Star Trek:Discovery, as Roddenberry hopes it would, then she’d be the first actress to have major roles in five Star Trek series.

And that’s not including her other work on the shows. She’s appeared in the flesh in multiple roles, including as Nurse Christine Chapel in Star Trek and Lwaxana Troi in Next Generation.

This isn’t the first time either that Barrett’s voice work has drawn attention in the technology sector. Before Google Now, Google was using the codename “Majel” for its Siri competitor”   (source)

anonymous asked:

What kind of stuff in a person's chart indicates talent in singer or just music in general?

I did quite a bit of research on this… One of my favorite topics, astrology and music. Both are gifts to our world. Both are languages to help us understand energy and what energy feels like.

The entire chart plays a significant role in someone’s ability in singing and music so I will try my best to illustrate everything as I hate leaving information out.

The information I’ve collected is from other astrologer’s opinions and charts of different types of musicians I’ve looked into.

I’ll start with the houses that have importance to this ability, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th house.

The 1st house, I believe for the most part, dictates the style in which a musician goes for. So why would the 1st house play a role in the style of music a person goes for? Well, the ascendant is pretty much our doorway between the inner and the outer; how we present the inner to the outer. Our style would come from the 1st house directly.
Take a look at someone like Björk (Icelandic singer) and her chart. She’s got her 1st house starting in Scorpio. If you listen to her music, the style is very Scorpio inspired; it’s strange, penetrating, and unconventional. She has no problem expressing the energy a Scorpio represents in her music.
Now lets take another singer with a different ascendant, perhaps someone like Freddie Mercury from Queen or Robert Smith from The Cure; their ascendant is in Leo. Their sound is in no doubt very different from each other, but they seem to fit in that category of the dramatic Leo. Almost all of Robert Smith’s songs express the loving lion a Leo represents, its essence is of what Leo/5th house expresses. Then if you look at Freddie Mercury’s music, it is dramatic and theatrical like the Leo.
So looking at all the different ascendants, a person’s musical style (disregarding the rest of their chart) may be whatever energy that sign represents. An Aries maybe angry and raw and a Pisces may be hippie and psychedelically inspired. Maybe… This is my opinion on it, subject to change though.
I wouldn’t mind hearing other people’s opinion on the ascendant and how it demonstrates a person’s style in music. To get your minds thinking, here’s a random range of artists and their ascendant…
Rihanna - Aries
John Lennon - Aries
Mariah Carey - Taurus
Lana Del Rey - Taurus
Lady Gaga - Gemini
Billy Idol - Gemini
Tchaikovsky - Cancer
Annie Lennox - Virgo
Kurt Kobain - Virgo
Beyonce - Libra
Jared Leto - Libra
Ludwig Van Beethoven - Scorpio
Aretha Franklin - Scorpio
Prince - Scorpio
Elvis - Sagittarius
Kesha - Sagittarius
Barry White - Capricorn
Tom Jones - Capricorn
Ariana Grande - Capricorn
Taylor Swift - Capricorn
Adele - Aquarius
Nicki Minaj - Aquarius
David Bowie - Aquarius
Michael Jackson - Pisces

One last note before I move onto the 2nd house; I also noticed that almost all of my favourite singers had their ascendant in Leo which is funny because my ascendant is in Leo… We pick music that best suit our style. What are your favourite artist’s ascendants and can you relate to them?

The 2nd house rules the throat. The condition of the throat itself will impact the sound of someone’s voice. Having many beneficial planets in the 2nd house would be good for a singer, some singers even have stelliums in the 2nd house. I know some other people made some really good posts about the 2nd house and its affect on voice so I won’t go too deep into the 2nd house and what planets do what to your voice. To sum up the affects of planets in the 2nd house, it’s pretty much what you would assume; Mars in the 2nd house would give a powerful or even masculine voice whereas Venus in the 2nd house would give a soft and feminine voice. So think of the planet and what it represents to know what it does to a person’s voice.
I do however want to however talk about whatever sign is cusping the 2nd house and its impact on a person’s voice.
Lets talk about the elements itself; what might a fire voice sound like? a water voice? an earth voice? an air voice? I’ve been trying to put my finger on this exactly, semi-stumped still; don’t really know how to put it to words.
I do know for sure the air voice. These are people who have an unafflicted 2nd house in an air sign. Their voices have the potential of singing at operatic levels. Their voices are light, high note reaching, and quite literally I would describe them as airy. Just a few examples of people with an air sign as their second house; Joan Sutherland - Gemini (opera singer), Annie Lennox - Libra, Ariana Grande - Aquarius, and Mariah Carey - Gemini.
For the fire voice, this was difficult to put to words. They seem to put a lot of emphasis on the words and sounds they make. Some of them even sound like they are straining their voice or really pushing the sounds that they make. Their voices can be strange, raw, or even penetrating. Some examples of fire voices; Robert Smith from the Cure - Leo (he also has Pluto in the 2nd house) and again Bjork - Sagittarius (she has quite a few planets in the 2nd house including Mars, Venus, and Mercury). For an actual example to listen to as I am bad at explaining things, here’s Robert and here’s Bjork. Adele also has her second house in a fire sign, Aries. She is influenced quite a bit by other parts in her chart, but she definitely has the crackly fire in her voice.
For the earth voice, I think is grounding yet dynamic because each of the earth signs are very different from each other in my opinion. Freddie Mercury for example has his second house in Virgo which is the essence of dynamic earth (ignoring the fact that he has many planets that are in the second house in Libra). It’s almost as if Virgo is also influenced by air because it is so mutable and changeable. The earth voice is usually light and pure. It’s smooth and vibrato. I believe Taurus is the richest earth voice of them all as it is grounded and ruled by Venus. So the examples for the earth voice I would say are Freddie Mercury - Virgo, Elvis - Capricorn, and Louis Armstrong - Taurus.
Finally for the water voice, to put it simply their voice usually has a LOT of soul. Some examples, Lady Gaga - Cancer, Barry White - Pisces, Tom Jones - Pisces, Beyonce - Scorpio.

Moving onto the 3rd house briefly. Now the 3rd house doesn’t have much to do with how your voice will sound, it is more of the mental side of communication. So things like lyrics and composing music would come from this house. Also because the 3rd house rules the hands, it may also dictate your ability in playing music.

And onto the 4th house. The 4th house is similar to the 1st house in such a way that is dictates style again. It Is actually sort of a mixture of the 1st house (who we are) and the 3rd house (how we communicate that), but the 4th house also reveals our emotions, the songs that come from within. The 4th house will show the root and meaning of songs; the feeling. Naturally water signs/planets can easily express emotions versus the air signs who may have some difficulty, but fun fact; the best poets/musicians usually have both air and water very prominent in their chart.

And the 5th house plays just as important part as the 4th house does. It’s creative potential. So if you can express your emotions through the 4th house, you need to creatively use them in the 5th house. Some of the best musicians have the 5th house prominent in their chart.

Pulling away from houses now… I want make a quick note about the blessing of how having a good balance of all the elements in a chart really can help a musician. Fire = passion/drive, Earth = rhythm, Air = intellect/skill, and Water = emotion. Obviously not all musicians have it all, but it really helps to have a good balance of them all.

Good placements for singers/musicians

-Venus in the 2nd or 5th house
-Venus in its ruler or exalted sign
-Venus in conjunction with the ascendant or midheaven
-Venus having harmonious aspects to the ascendant or midheaven
-Venus, Moon, and/or Neptune is prominent in the chart
-Moon is not afflicted
-Moon in Libra or Taurus
-Stelliums in Libra, Taurus, 2nd House, or 5th House
-Good aspects between Sun, Moon, Venus, and Neptune.
-Good as aspects/placements in the 3rd house (will help indicate if there’s ability to play instruments)
-Quintiles and biquintiles can show hidden talent. See if there are any between Venus, Mercury, Moon, or Neptune.

Not so good placements

-Any afflictions to Venus or planets that sit in Taurus/Libra/2nd/5th can cancel out singing ability.
-Any afflictions to the Mercury or planets that sit in the 3rd house or Gemini can make learning musical instruments difficult.

Sansa, Smart

So. Sansa. I hear some people think she’s not very clever. This is a view shared by several characters in the books.

But there’s no reason the readership should share those views. Sansa is a very clever individual who makes increasingly good use of several skills she started the series with, and develops greatly as an observer and an actor over the course of the story.

Putting everything under a cut, for reasons of four books of brainpower.

I don’t know if other people felt the same but it was really important for me to see Etta in Wonder Woman as a plus size woman. Her weight was mentioned once by herself as a joke about corsets and other than that it wasn’t mentioned. She’s well liked, appreciated, and good at what she does. It was so great to see a positive representation in that movie of this big woman where there weren’t a million fat jokes or where her whole life hinged on changing to please someone else.

I love Etta and it was so important for me to see that sort of representation. I felt a similar way about Abbey and Patty in Ghostbusters (2016) it’s so important to put these characters played by bigger actors/actresses in and not have the role be about how bad fat people are. To have them be a useful, fun, good character and not be the butt of the joke all the time.

It was amazing to see as was seeing so many different women in one scene.

I nervously tugged at my top as I stood behind the stage with the rest of the cast. We were about to go on for a twd panel at ComicCon. I had done panels a million times before but this was the first time I was properly nervous.

The only reason I was so scared was because I noticed I had been getting more attention lately on social media, which worried me because I might be asked more questions than normal. My recent ‘fame’ It was due to the fact that I was beginning to get a bigger part in the show. I had been on The Walking Dead for years, playing Melissa Dixon, Daryl Dixon’s daughter. I had a decently important role, and I loved it.

Now, in season 6, I had lots more screentime due to the fact that I was becoming Carl’s love interest. Chandler was my best friend on set, so naturally, we were both super excited to have more time to work together. Well, I was probably more excited than him because let’s face it, Chandler’s pretty damn cute.

@everyone: Camila isn't queer baiting. She never intentionally plays a "gay" role to support herself. Queerbaiting would be Nick Jonas' sex forward campaign and him pseudo stripping his way to a gay club. I think Camila is well aware that many Harmonizers and Camilizers are gay, yet she never use any explicitly LGBT-ish things for her own profit. The fact that she's working hard to cover her gayness is the easiest proof that the girl isn't pretending and baiting.

And the fact that she’s so bad at hiding it is endearing really

anonymous asked:

Hey, I saw your tags on the ladywongs post, so I just wanted to know your opinion about the latest touka/mutsuki. honestly, I feel it unnecessarily complicated something so simple and it made me feel violated, cause I feel like I loved a character that was not touka. Do you perhaps...have an insight you wanna share?

Well, I was grateful for the shoutout that meta gave me and I’ve been a fan of a lot of metas that writer has produced, but this one in particular I very much disagreed with. I think the claim that Touka loves the idea of Kaneki while not really understanding the person ignores the fact that every time she’s made a serious observation about Kaneki she’s been bang on the money.

If she idolises Kaneki so, why has she made such a damning assessment about him? And it’s not just an assessment of the changed Shironeki that she resents, it extends to the Kuroneki she supposedly idolises as well. And what’s more, she’s completely right. This is even acknowledged by Kaneki himself.

Touka doesn’t idolise an image of Kaneki. Far from it. The chapter on the bridge is titled “Penetration” because Touka sees past the roles Kaneki plays to the scared kid inside. At this point, she probably has the best understanding of Kaneki than anyone in the series - maybe even more than Hide. For further proof, Touka knows at a FREAKING GLANCE just what Kaneki intends to do to himself when they meet up at Cochlea.

If this was just a casual “Seeya”, do you think it would be all Touka would say to him after all this time? She can tell Kaneki has no intention of making it out alive, so the first thing she does is to remind him that his death won’t affect him alone, and it very clearly shakes him up; setting him on the path to choose to live. Just like how their confrontation on the bridge convinced Kaneki to go back to Anteiku, if not quite in time.

Touka’s not being unreasonable because the Kaneki she idolised has changed. She’s mad because Kaneki’s going down a path of self-destruction, and it does destroy him. In the last quarter of the first manga the narrative breaks its back pointing out that Kaneki’s gone too far down the Shironeki path - it’s not just Touka, it’s also Yoshimura, Nishiki, even resident devil on Kaneki’s shoulder Shuu, not to mention events like Kaneki stabbing Banjou, seeing Rize crazed and helpless, and all the foreshadowing packed into ‘The Hanged Man’s McGuffin’. Touka is trying to help Kaneki because she genuinely does know what’s best for him because she genuinely understands him. I don’t think anyone would try to claim that convincing Kaneki to live at Cochlea was a bad thing either.

Now if Touka is ‘obsessed’ with Kaneki, if it can’t possibly be love because they only knew each other for two months, then it would stand to reason that Kaneki would be far, far more important to Touka than she would be for him.

Then why is it that in Kaneki’s mind, after only knowing Touka for two months and Hide for all his life, Touka is on equal footing with Hide? He includes the whole of Anteiku in the above panel, but Touka gets special mention with Hide in the next.

And here, in his dying moments, Touka gets the biggest panel, placed on the next page for the biggest effect. Touka is just as important to Kaneki as vice-versa.

But neither is ‘obsessed’ with the other.

Touka broke into Cochlea to save Hinami, not Kaneki. She didn’t even know he was there. She most definitely has a life outside Kaneki and her love for him is far from all-consuming. While he had lost his memories, she was fully willing to accept the possibility she might never talk to him again. She might love him, but if she was obsessed and didn’t have a life outside of him, there’s no way she could make a sacrifice like that even if her aim was selflessness. Yoshimura loved his daughter, and set up Anteiku anticipating her return, but he had a life outside of her too. It’s the same with Touka.

The original post tries to dismiss Touka’s feelings being a healthy form of love by comparing it to spending three years dedicating yourself to a co-worker who you knew for two months, but dumbing it down to their official relationship and a span of time removes an enormous amount of context to explain why she feels this way. In real life, you wouldn’t have fought side-by-side with your co-worker in life-threatening situations time and time again. These kind of high-pressure environments cause bonds and trust to become much much thicker much more quickly. “Summer friends will melt away like summer snows, but winter friends are friends forever”.

Sure Touka sees Arata in Kaneki. That’s not a bad thing at all. Arata was a great dude. Having an Arata in your life is a real positive thing, and there’s absolutely no reason why Touka shouldn’t chase it. People are hardwired to get with people who remind them of their parents - it’s in our genetic programming, it doesn’t diminish the love they feel for that person or make them love them less for who they are in the slightest. Trying to heal the wounds of old losses by emotionally investing yourself in new people is totally healthy - the unhealthy thing would be to shut yourself off from the world, just like Touka was doing at the start of the manga - a rut Kaneki helped her out of. It would be bad if she were just pretending that Kaneki was Arata, but she isn’t - she behaves totally differently around him and she has demonstrated many times an understanding of those personality traits Kaneki possesses that are completely different from Arata’s. It would be problematic if Kaneki got with someone who reminded him of his mother (read: Rize) because his mother was a horrible person; but Touka, even if she occasionally throws a hit at him (a product of her upbringing which is very rare nowadays - also Kaneki is nowhere near as vulnerable in this situation as he was a child, he’s the OEK for crying out loud), constantly gives Kaneki both the emotional attention and the hard truths that he needs.

This panel:

Is unambiguously a good thing. Touka’s development was never about growing into herself without the need for others, because she was already like that at the start of the manga. Touka’s development was about rediscovering the humanity she cast aside to protect herself from pain, and then balancing that with the strength she found with being a Ghoul. The first stage was greatly aided by Kaneki - whom she indeed admired, but never idolised - and the second stage she completed herself.

Mutsuki’s love is a different beast entirely than Touka’s love. Mutsuki’s focus on Touka was precisely to emphasise Mutsuki’s jealousy, because Mutsuki recognises the bond Kaneki and Touka share. Mutsuki’s feelings are not meant to parallel Touka’s, but tie in with the other complicated entanglements of this arc, showcasing different kinds of love. I do strongly believe we’ll get both Touken and Akiramon resolutions soon, and positive ones too; the negativity around love this arc has displayed to us so far is set up to make those two relationships shine brighter.

So don’t worry anon, just because a meta says Touka is different from how you think about her doesn’t mean it’s right - it’s all a matter of interpretation. No one person’s opinion is automatically more important than another (except in this case maybe Sui Ishida - and maybe not even then, if you adhere to Death Of The Author literary theory), your analysis is just as valid as anyone else’s if you can argue it with evidence.

But even so, I am very much of the opinion in this fandom that if you see any meta that tries to claim that none of the main characters have developed at all since the start of the manga, take it with approximately this much salt:

anonymous said: I loved guest star!! 😍 I was wondering if you could make a fic about cole how youve been keeping your relationship for months now and fans are suspecting that youre dating because of all the bts and photos of you and his ig and in one interview that youre having together someone questions you guys about it. sorry if this was long 😂 i love your fics 😘❤

a/n: basically this is another guest star part but an interview!

“god i’m so nervous”. you mutter pulling on your fingers as you wait in the green room with your boyfriend cole and co-star kj. we were about to endure a joint interview and it was your first lot of press you’ve done for riverdale.

but it wasn’t that factor that made you nervous, it was that people were becoming more and more aware of your romantic relationship with cole.

you’d been able to keep it under wraps for the whole two years you’ve been dating but now that you were both sharing the small screen people had caught on.

so you had to control yourselves whenever you were out. refraining yourselves from snap chatting each other or posting photos all over your instagrams.

you had to be strictly platonic. you didn’t need any sort of bad press if you two were to break up. so for now you weren’t a couple, you were just a couple of besties.

or atleast that’s what you thought. you thought were pulling it off. but more and more accounts for your ‘ship name’ with cole had popped up on both twitter and instagram and not to mention the constant questions when meeting fans in the flesh.

especially when they caught you out mid-date. when you two had to coyly pretend that you were waiting on other friends to excuse the fact that you were out together without the rest of the cast.

and to be quite frank you were getting sick of all the pretending and running around. sometimes you just wanted kiss your boyfriend or hold his hand whilst you walked down the streets.

not that you really had the opportunity to take a leisurely stroll down the road, being famous disney stars and all.

“you’ll be fine”, cole whispers walking toward you making sure no one was staring at the two of you. he placed a soft hand on your shoulder, instantly filling you with comfort.

“just breathe okay? if they ask don’t say yes but don’t say no, yeah? that way we aren’t lying or avoiding the question” you nod smiling to the boy as a young women calls you over to the interview room.

the three of you file in, sitting down on a huge plush couch, each boy on either side of you as the interviewer sits in her own seperate lounge chair.

the interviewer starts her intro off strong turning toward the three of you. “kj apa as archie andrews, y/n l/n as c/n c/l/n and cole sprouse as jughead jones on the cw’s riverdale!”

the three of you all smile greeting the interviewer, and the camera crew, as you settle into the interview, talking about the upcoming season and possible plot.

you were too busy worrying to even pay attention to half the stuff that was spewing from the ladies mouth, that you barely noticed her turn to you and begin to engage in conversation until kj smoothly nudged you.

patting down your dress you push your hair off your shoulder as she addressed you directly.

“so how is it for you to go from disney to the darker side of the cw?”

“i mean it’s a lot different to disney i’ll tell you that”. you pause the group laughing to themselves “i didn’t even really think i’d be coming back to acting but i couldn’t resist the role”.

she nods playing with the cards in her palms. “so anything in particular that’s vastly different?”

“well - it’s still directed for the younger generation but i feel like in disney it was more so for the children than the preteens for example…and the content we’re filming is a lot heavier than the stuff we dealt with on y/d/s but it’s also just as fun and exciting as i remember”.

“so you and cole -” you freeze at the mention of him, “both disney kids coming back to acting. kj what was it like to know that you were working with some of the greatest names in disney?”

you breathe a sigh of relief taking a sip from the glass of water on the table as you listen to kj rattle on about how much he adored cole and dylan.

“both of their shows i watched religiously. me and my mates used to love it aye. especially y/d/s with uh y/n we loved her a lot - im pretty sure one of my mates had a poster of her”.

you blush giggling to yourself. “so you had a crush on y/n?” the interviewer laughs, kj turning red at the words. you continue laughing placing a hand around his arm.

“aw kj!!!” you swoon embarrassing him further. cole joined in on the fun, “yeah he was a big fan we kinda had to push him a bit and be like ’hey buddy“.

kj shakes his head furiously to the camera his words rushing out in defence “nah nah nah”. sending you and cole into a laughing fit as the kiwi struggled to cover up his words.

“i mean i was a fan. like who wasn’t aye, but nah it’s a lot of fun filming with them and we all are good friends with the others too. but ugh yeah- it’s hard to go out anywhere because fans notice them from a mile away”

the interviewer laughs “wait people still notice you as your disney characters?” we both nod cole taking the lead.

“i mean it’s very flattering but as you can see im not the same kid with the blonde shaggy bowl cut so sometimes i question how they’d recognise me- especially from friends”.

you smile the interviewer looking to you for input “what about you?”

you nod leaning back slightly into the couch feeling coles arm against the top of the couch.

“they do yes, i go anywhere and they all yell ”c/n“ and sometimes i just forget and then they’re running and i’m running and then they’re screaming and i’m screaming”.

the room started to laugh.

“it’s a very weird situation” you giggle the interviewer cutting in.

“and you looking nothin like that girl anymore- you look amazing!”

you place a hand over your heart in awe “thank god for that” you joke poking fun at yourself. “i grew up and hit puberty and sometimes when i hear someone say ’hey you look like that girl off y/d/s? i’m like damn i must be having a rough day”.

the interviewer giggles “oh don’t be so hard on yourself- doesn’t she look hot now boys?” she slaps kj’s leg and they both nod.

“god yeah she’s come along way from disney-even though i still had a crush on c/n”, cole comments a smile growing on your face at the compliment.

“so are you all single?”

your heart plummets at the question. the dreaded question for anyone in the industry is asked whenever they are in one or aren’t. no one wants to be asked this question ever.

cole answers first surprising you “i’m not no”.

“i am” kj chirps taking a long drink from his water.

“i’m not either” you clear your throat smiling, refusing to make eye contact with cole.

the interviewer smirks knowing she got the answer you wanted “oh so you two are off the market”. she pretends to act surprised “well who are they”.

cole replies cutely “for us to know and you to never find out- all you need to know is she’s beautiful and one of a kind”.

you fight off the blush tinting on your cheeks as the interviewer wraps up the interview.

“one last question before you guys leave- serpent jughead? yes or no?”

“yes yes yes” you stammer feeling confident. “have you seen jughead in a leather jacket? serpent jughead is the best thing to come out of riverdale”.

cole blushes and the interview is officially over. cole’s manager walking over to escort us back to our green room.

“i think you might have just outed us” he teases walking dangerously close to you, his hot breathe on your neck.

“what can i say- serpent juggie just does some indescribable things to me”.

Your Move

The nine times Simon and Baz prank each other and the one time they don’t

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10

March 23

Simon

We’re not supposed to have food in our rooms.  It’s one of Watford’s most ignored rules.  It’s never enforced, and if the rooms themselves have anything to say about it, they tend to keep their mouths shut.

Nearly everyone I’ve talked to has some sort of stash in their wardrobe or under their bed.  Agatha loves her sherbet lemons, and Penny has a seemingly endless supply of licorice hidden in a locked cupboard.  Only she knows the whereabouts of the key, assuming she’s telling the truth and there is a key at all.  As for me, I keep at least two mint Aero bars tucked away at all times, though it seems no matter where I hide them, Baz always manages to find them.  Further evidence of vampiric senses, if you ask me.

Baz is more of a bring-food-from-the-dining-hall-into-the-room kind of person than a secret stash person, at least I’ve never seen any evidence of a stash.  I have to wonder what sort of things Baz would keep hidden away.  Rats maybe, still alive to keep their blood warm for when he gets peckish.  But then again, I would probably have noticed something like that.

I don’t know how he always manages to get food up to the room unnoticed, but I also know he’s on a first-name basis with Cook Pritchard, so maybe he gets special privileges.

When he appears in the door this evening, tall and silent as ever, he’s holding a steaming mug of tea.  I don’t say anything about it, I know better at this point. He’ll just snap at me.

He crosses the room and sets the mug down on his nightstand, dropping down to his bed and uncurling to his back.  I raise an eyebrow at him, stretched out like a cat. “What’s with you?” I muse.

He throws a glance my way.  “What?”

           “I dunno, you’re just being… weird.”

“Thank you for your opinion, Snow, it’s entirely uncalled for as usual.”

I roll my eyes.  “Forget I said anything.”

           “I already have.”

I turn back to my textbook with a scowl.  Serves me right for trying to start casual conversation, though maybe I was a bit rude about it.  At least I can say I tried.

Baz lays there on his bed for another moment or so, staring up at the ceiling, breathing slowly and deeply like this is the first time he’s properly filled his lungs in weeks.  I glance at my watch.  I’m supposed to meet Penny in the library to study in half an hour, I don’t need to go just yet.

When Baz stands, he takes a detour on his way to the bathroom to reach over and flip my book out of my hands.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I call after him, but he responds simply by slamming the door in my face.

Classic Baz.  Simple, stupid, but effective.  Like a playground bully.

I wonder if he gets any actual joy out of it.

The heat of my anger is already fading, but it still frustrates me that he’s been getting away with this kind of abuse all our lives and nothing I do ever seems to deter him.  It’s like he’s a giant and I’m a pissed-off ant, biting and crawling and trying to hurt him, only to be flicked away by a giant indifferent finger.

His mug on the bedside table catches my eye, steam still curling off the tea.  He hasn’t taken a sip yet, which is surprising.  Usually he drinks the stuff practically straight out of the kettle, like it isn’t scalding his entire throat on the way down.  Maybe it’s not, maybe that’s some obscure vampire thing. Or maybe he’s just a prat that wants to look tough.

The lightbulb that goes off in my head is almost audible as I watch the steam dance above the mug.

Grabbing my wand from the sheets beside me, I stand from my bed as quietly as I can and tiptoe across to Baz’s nightstand, wincing with every creak from the floorboards.  The tea is that perfect smooth colour, brown and soft with cream and sugar.  Sparing a fleeting glance at the bathroom door, I dip my wand down so that the tip just barely breaks the surface of the tea, sending ripples floating away from the intrusion.

Needs more salt,” I murmur in as soft a voice as I can manage, pushing the crackle of magic from the base of my neck down through my wand arm and into the tea.

“What was that, Snow?” Baz calls from the other side of the door.  There’s a sudden splash of the sink.

“I didn’t say anything, twat,” I call back, carefully bringing my wand over my mouth and letting the stream of droplets fall onto my tongue.  It’s flowers and cream and… salt.  Definitely salt.

I smirk as I return to my bed.  Mission accomplished.

When Baz re-emerges, I pull my textbook closer so he can’t knock it away again.  I try to look appropriately engrossed.  He doesn’t pause at the door, just goes straight back to his bed, and though I can’t see his face in my periphery, it seems as though he doesn’t suspect anything.

Needs more salt isn’t a proper spell, per say.  More of a charm.  Penny says that spells occur when the words play the biggest role.  They are usually well-known sayings or lyrics, things that carry a little bit of their own magic, which makes them the easiest for beginning mages to master.  Charms are different, harder to control.  The power of a charm doesn’t lie in the words but in the intent.  The magic comes entirely from the mage.  Often charms come out as accidents, when something is said with so much feeling that magic simply slips in.

Penny is quite good at charms, at putting magic into whichever words she chooses.  She insists that anything can be a charm with enough magic.

As Baz reaches for his tea, I can’t help but watch.

I sure hope Penny is right.

Baz raises the mug to his lips and takes the first sip.

His features freeze like he isn’t quite sure how to arrange them.

After a beat he lowers the cup and stares at it like it’s a puzzle, his brow beginning to furrow.

He takes another thoughtful sip, and this time the tiny curl of his lip betrays a hint of disgust.

I make sure to be staring back down at my book when he turns his gaze on me.  I feel it burn into the top of my head, and the burn spreads to my cheeks as I try not to crack.

I can still feel his eyes on me as he takes a long, pointed drink from the mug.

           Prat.

I glance back at my watch.  It’s still too early, but Penny will probably be in the library already, and I don’t know how long I can handle Baz’s stare.

I close my book and stuff it in my bag, wearing what I hope is a neutral expression and not a beet-red blush.  I stand from my bed and slip into my shoes. I see him take another sip.  When I look at him, he’s still watching me, and his face is surprisingly clear for someone drinking salted tea out of spite.

I’m not fully sure which one of us is the winner here.

I’m halfway out the door when I decide to break the tension.

           “April Fool’s,” I state like it’s a simple good-bye before I shut the door.

I’m two stairs down as he yells “IT’S NOT EVEN FUCKING APRIL YOU TWAT!”

hush-city  asked:

When trying decide how the government of my fictional nation/city/town/village works, what are some things I should consider?

Before we start getting into the nitty gritty of how a government works, I would suggest you do a bit of research on different types of government. Is your nation a monarchy? Democracy? Make one up because those are so much fun to create? Once you decide how the nation will be ruled as a whole, it should be quite easy to make it trickle down to town and village size. But there are a few basics building blocks to consider, so let’s review those.

Ruler

First, who rules your nation? Or how is it ruled? This goes back to the question on type of government. If you have a king/queen, do they have all the power or do they have a council or parliament? Here you can create your own rules about ruling. The king could have most of the power to dictate orders and laws, but call in his council to discuss foreign policies. Or he could have little power because he is going crazy so the council makes all major decisions.

Similarly, you could have a Roman Empire situation. They had a two head leaders who at first were like a President, ruling for a short, one year term, but could be re-elected non-consecutively. Later, this Caesar guy thought he was all that and declared he would rule for life like a king, but not really because he still had a Senate. However, the Senate was not like the United States’ Senate. This Senate had little to no rule making power and instead discussed foreign and domestic policies, directed the religious life of Rome, and handled the state finances. They relied heavily on the Caesar as a figure head for the Empire since he controlled the military and major legislative orders. Fingers-crossed nobody stabs the guy.

Whatever direction you choose to go, it must be remembered that for any government to effectively work, the majority of people must obey the powers of authority. I say majority because there are always those little rebels who touch the special thingy when the sign says “Do not touch special thingy”. But for a majority of people to obey the head authority with minimal objection or rebellion, there has to be history and a background of respect for your government. You need past generations to pass down history of wise decisions made by government leaders to your younger generations in order them to follow and obey, assuming it is a decent government. However, if your government is deeply corrupt or just starting out, a rebellious attitude by people would be both understandable and realistic. For the deeply corrupt, dystopian style government, it is time to actually change and now all the small rebellions of decades past have become an outright revolt of the whole nation. For the new, baby government, there will be rebellious people simply because people do not like change and they will demand things return to “normal”, but not so much so that everyone will disagree. Your baby government is the fruit of revolt of a bad government so most people will welcome baby government with open arms.

Judicial System

Another important element that is a must in any government, is a judicial system. Your nation will need some sort of judge or respected figure who can settle disputes amongst themselves. If Farmer Green and Farmer Brown are fighting over who Betsy the Cow belongs to, who are they going to go to, to settle their argument? This one is also very flexible. The king or head leader can act as the sole judge over the land, but then there is a long line out the door to hear the people’s problems. You could have a traveling judge who travels from town to town settling disputes or you could have a local judge. But wait! A head religious figure could also play the role of a judge to the people. It really depends on your nation’s culture. Any of these would work quite well.

Security/Emergency System

For the sake of discussion, I am going to assume that your nation is pretty well set up and has a decent government. So, something to consider is a security or emergency system. No, not those house alarms for a burglar. I mean Police, EMTs, Army, National Guard, who are you going to call when trouble happens? Uprisings happen, especially when your ruler isn’t ruling the way people feel he or she should. Who is going to show up to make sure nobody gets hurt or contain the damage? This security group does not necessarily have to be the Police or Army, they could be a group of magic wielding old ladies that knit handcuffs! But this group must be respected and have enough authority for people to listen and be effective.

The emergency system is similar. If there is an accident and injuries occur, does an ambulance of sorts with EMTs show up? Of course they do not have to be EMTs, they could be healers or any other name that works for your nation. It is simply a matter if they do or do not have this service in place. If your nation does not, your culture could be friendly enough and close knit to where if there is an accident, witnesses jump in and help save the day. “Is there a doctor here?!” will be yelled frequently in this situation. It works well too, but consider that there is not always a doctor, nurse, healer, etc. nearby to help and they may need to rush to the nearest hospital.

Creative Bonus: Does your nation have a flag? Does your nation have a national animal? (Pst! Scotland’s animal is a unicorn!) Does your nation have a national anthem? Does your nation have national holidays that are government appointed? E.g. United States’ President’s Day or Veterans’ Day.

Phew, that was a lot of information! Don’t stress about it though! World building is fun and you get to be creative. Don’t be afraid to try something new, it is your story and your nation after all!

Happy writing!

The Last of Us - Fan Cast

So I’ve been asked this question a lot, especially lately and I just figured I would throw something together quickly. I’m not great at this stuff, but I will share what I think.

Joel: Hugh Jackman – I thought Hugh would be a perfect cast before they made Logan and Logan just reaffirmed he would be great for it. Honorable Mentions: Josh Brolin, Dylan McDermott, Gerard Butler & Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Ellie: Unknown – I’d like to see an unknown actress get cast in this role to be honest with you.

Marlene: Sonequa Martin-Green – From the first moment I saw her on The Walking Dead, I thought she would be perfect.

Bill: W. Earl Brown – I think he’d be a nice cast.

Tommy: Andrew Lincoln – I think he’d be awesome in the role.

Henry: Michael B Jordan – I’d like to see him in the role. As far as Sam, I’d like to see a newcomer cast in that role as well.

Tess: Cobie Smulders – When I saw her in Jack Reacher I thought she’d make a decent Tess.

David: Gary Oldman – Gary is an awesome actor and I think he could play this creepy role well.

anonymous asked:

Why does a larrie have a quote from Jay on their blog when they don't remember her as the proud grandmother she was. Makes me sad.

This ask makes me sad too.

I said I wasn’t going to shy away from saying how I feel anymore so now’s as good a time as any to put that into practice. I have a quote from Jay in my bio because I loved her, respected her, and looked up to her, as a mum and as a person. I plan on keeping it there.

I am a larrie, yes. I make no apologies for that. I believe Harry and Louis are together. And initially, my analysis of babygate was to debunk to prove that Louis wouldn’t be in this mess because he’s not straight, but it goes far beyond that.

I don’t believe Jay was a proud grandmother. I believe she had to play along with this stunt for the sake of her son, often stepping in and taking on the role of proud grandmother to take some of the burden away from him, even when she was ill, unbeknownst to us.

Jay caught a lot of flack from some people for her role in babygate but I always understood. She did what she thought she had to do for her son. A mother’s love knows no bounds. I would most likely kill someone if they severely hurt my child, and that’s not an empty threat or hyperbole. I would move a mountain just to make them smile. I know that’s what Jay wanted for all of her children, their happiness.

And so she played a role, and she played it well. And you can feel free to disagree with me about that, but I believe Jay was doing what she felt was right for her child. As any mother worth their salt would.

Can you tell me why she removed all of Freddie’s photos off her Instagram? And before you come back with an answer about privacy, remember that her son and the child’s own supposed mother and family happily splashed (and continue to splash) his image all over social media.

Jay was an extraordinary woman, wife, and mother. And that’s how I choose to remember her. I think, at the very least, we can all agree on that.
