she looks amazing in this scene

anonymous asked:

You are the first and only writer I have read for this fandom. I love your work so much, I've re read all your Arrow stories twice (even the Firefly one even though I've never watched it). Do you have any favorite Olicity fics to recommend to keep me from going crazy my first hiatus? (I binged the first 4 seasons last year)

This is awesome!! Thank you! I’m super honored. And do I have recs? Oh yes, I have recs.

First rec isn’t actually a fic, it’s a resource… @theolicitylibrary. If you want recs, they’ve got ‘em. If you want a specific trope or rating or genre, they’ve got that, too. Have a hankering for a fic where Oliver and Felicity are business rivals? There’s a link for that. Where she’s the vigilante instead? There’s a link for that, too. Where one of them is a werewolf? Yup. They’re an amazing resource and you can lose days (and weeks and months) going through lists of alpha/omega tropes and rockstar AUs and friends-to-lovers fics.

But more specifically… how about I rec some authors, too? I haven’t been reading much lately - I spend all my time writing - so I’m more comfortable reccing authors I know are amazing and whose works I’m looking forward to catching up on. They’re all consistently excellent. This is by no means an all inclusive list.

@dust2dust34 - My co-writer for FiCoN and personal fav (though I admit to no small amount of bias). If you want smut and you want details and mining a scene for feelings, Bre is your girl. She has plenty of oneshots to choose from as well as some multichapter fics.

@machawicket - Look, I can’t overstate Danielle’s skills as a writer. My husband doesn’t even read my fic but he likes hers. Her writing is funny, sweet, sexy and heartbreaking in turn but it’ll never leave you unsatisfied. She’s a master.

@anthfan - Nikki is one of those writers that’s so good she makes you forget you’re reading a story, because it’s just something you’re living. It’s an experience. Her characterization is spot-on and her plots are super engaging. She writes both one-shots and longer stories. They’re all worth your time.

@hannasus - Susannah’s writing is the perfect balance of detailed exposition and tight narrative that lets you feel like you’ve experienced the whole setting in just a few lines. Add to that fully in-character characterization and interesting plots that keep you reading and you really can’t go wrong. I recommend reading her Something Like Fate series ASAP as she’s adapted it into the basis for an original novel (which she’s publishing later this year) and it may not be up on AO3 a whole lot longer.

@rosietwiggs - I can always tell Rosie’s work in just a few lines. Her narrative voice is so very distinctive and so gripping that it pulls me in effortlessly. I don’t believe she’s writing for Arrow anymore, but even her unfinished works are worth a read. I especially recommend The New Normal, Lengths and How The Mighty Fall In Love.

@supersillyanddorky06 - I’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard around about Matty’s writing because she’s right at the core of the Olicity fandom’s best known fanfics. With good reason. She’s prolific, plotty, smutty and evocative. If you have a weakness for Bratva!Oliver, I’d start here.

@jsevick - I first met Jaimie after reading her Jurassic Park AU (really!) and being both delighted and amazed that she could make it work. I’m extremely lucky to have had her help as my beta pretty much ever since. If you like my writing, she’s a big part of it (along with @alizziebyanyothername). While she hasn’t posted in a while, her stories are just fun and if you like Gilmore Girls, her Arrow AU for Gilmore Girls is a treat!

@realityisoverrated-fic - I have no idea how you would feel about Smoaking Billionaires, Anon (I personally love it), but I’ve got to very highly recommend her Infinite Love series. At 110 parts and counting, it deals extensively with Oliver, Felicity and Tommy’s family longterm, including their kids. It’s alternately hot, sweet, and heartbreaking. But, most of all, it’s just well-written and interesting. If you’re willing to read them as a triad, I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

@geneeste - I would pay for more of Caught a Long Wind. Quite literally. But, that aside, Genie is a top notch writer. Whether her one-shots, WiPs or brilliant, ongoing epic co-written work with @machawicket, everything she writes should be devoured.

@juliesioux - Julie uses the setting in a story as another character. There’s so much life to the world she puts her characters in that it practically breathes. Above that, she doesn’t shy away from hard topics. She will rush in head-first and dig deep to explore what her characters are going through. When you read her work, take her warnings seriously, but if you’re looking for a rich story to read that challenges you, she’s the perfect option to turn to.

@thatmasquedgirl - One of the most prolific Olicity fic authors (with 110 fics, including the absolute opus Technical Assistance). She’s consistently excellent, creative and she gives us as a fandom a whole lot to read. You can probably spent a huge chunk of hiatus happily buried in her work.

@entersomethingcleverhere - As a rule, I do not read first person stories. Not even when they’re published books sitting on shelves at my bookstore. I will break that rule for her writing. I like it that much. It’s heartfelt, moving, well-paced, and the connections between her characters are both real and evolving as you go.

@arrow-through-my-writers-block - Shelby is… well, she’s just fun! She’s a solid writer who never disappoints. She’s got quite a few one-shots and a few ongoing multi-chapters. She’s probably best known for Starstruck, but all of her work is worth reading.

@wagamiller - I just really love wagamiller’s work. Like a lot. There are very few authors I have on alert, but wagamiller is. Stories that make me laugh out loud are few and far between, but the 35B series surely did (as did @machawicket‘s Unbearable Hotness of Being, btw). Strong, sharp, witty writing that will leave you with a grin on your face.

@callistawolf - When I think of Callie’s work, I think of the fanfic version of sitting down with some hot cocoa and curling up with a warm blanket to watch a Hallmark Christmas special. She’s consistently excellent about finishing her work, which is lovely, and you can pretty much always count on a feel-good romantic ending.

@hopedreamlovepray - Writing one-shots that stick with your reader is hard. Keeping a story to 1-2k and still being impactful is even harder. She absolutely manages it every time. Hope27 (as she’s known on AO3, so you can find her) has something like a hundred Olicity fics. These are, in my opinion, absolutely perfect if you want to lose yourself in a story on the train to work or during your lunch hour.

@dettiot - Mel has a lot of great stories (like really great). My favorite is probably the “ink in my pen ran dry” series, but that’s a really tough call. Core Curriculum is super hot. The Felicity Stark series (crossover with Avengers-verse) is brilliant and fun and made me giddy while reading it. Beauty in the Breakdown is excellent. Jerry the EA series features one of the best takes on a relative OC I’ve read in fics. Love is Red made me squeal like a teenager with excitement (I’m not ashamed; it was warranted). And Two Men, Same Name (written with @melsanfo) is one of those that I am absolutely dying for the time to catch up on. While I’m at it, let’s rec Mel Sanfo, too. Her Masquerade is another novel-length fic absolutely worth a read. You really can’t go wrong with either of these ladies.

@ash818 - Ash is freaking awesome. So, here’s the thing. Her Legacy series is mind-blowingly good. I have to admit, I’ve only read The Man Under The Hood in the series (this is intentional, for a reason you’ll see in a moment, but you need to read all of her work ASAP, okay? You do). This series… you’ve got future, married Olicity with teenage children as they continue their mission. There’s action, plot, heartbreak, angst, love, everything you could want. It’s in first person from their son’s perspective which is something I would probably never have clicked on in the first place had it not come highly recommended, but good lord is it amazing. All of her characters have life. All of them have depth. Her OCs are fully formed and vital to the story without overshadowing characters you already know. I haven’t read the later stories because after I decided to continue on with FiCoN verse, I didn’t want to inadvertently shade my views on Olicity’s growing family and continuing mission with anything she did in her series. If anything I do happens to run parallel to her work, I want to know beyond any doubt that it’s 100% coincidence. But her stories are something I’m absolutely itching to get to read… eventually. Her writing is excellent.

@tinaday3w - I’m tempted to say “JUST READ IT” but that’s probably not enough… But really, just read it. No one does slow burn like Tina. Victorian era AU with pirate!Oliver? Yes, please. Hello. I’ll take two.

@emmilynestill - She’s just so good. And sooooo hot. I don’t know if you know this, Anon, but writing a good sex scene is hard. You don’t want your reader pulled out of the scene by wondering if a position is actually possible or when underwear came off (or if it did) or how gravity isn’t making them collapse. Like… smut is difficult. But it reads so effortlessly with Emmilyne’s writing. And, beyond that, she weaves it in beautifully with plot that keeps you wondering what’s next and emotion that builds and grows in an organic way. Orgasms and organic feelings. Honestly, what else could anyone really want?

@ruwithmeguys - Jess will gut you and leave you asking her to do it again. Indecent Proposal… just… read the warnings and be ready and read it with a lot of time on your hands and probably in chunks because ouch. But still… read it.

@academyofshipping - Sarah has this dry sense of humor that comes out in her fics that’s as clever as it is fun. Fluffy, funny, smart, cute and rich with feeling, Sarah’s writing is consistently strong.

@someonesaidcake - Felice is fantastic for completed, multichapter AU fics. She has quite a few and I’m pretty sure every single one included smut at some point (if that’s your thing) as well as plot.

And… I’ve spent like an hour and a half on this which was a lovely diversion for my day. I know I’m forgetting amazing people but I have to stop here. When in doubt, take the title of a fic you like, google that name in quotes along with “rec list” and find someone’s list where that story was included, then explore the others. Or, check the bookmarks on AO3 of an author you like, that’s a great place to mine for fics, too. And, again, I can’t rec @theolicitylibrary enough. That said… happy reading, Anon! We’ll get through this hiatus together… through fic and sheer force of will. ;-)

This scene man. I have a lot to say about this scene but also Im at such a loss for words.

For those of you who haven’t read the manga these lines were added in.

And personally I found it added so much more to both her character and death.

We knew NOTHING about Nanaba’s past other than she was one of the few remaining veterans alive from before the fall of the walls. Erwin, Mike, Hanji, Nanaba, and Levi were the only veterans from the survey corps everyone else came in later on after the fall.

Thats literally all we knew.

Aside from the fact that she looked up to Mike but really who wouldn’t? He was humanity’s strongest soldier until Levi came around. He was also her squad leader. Who wouldn’t look up to a man like that?

But this. Fuckin’. Scene. Right. Here.

It gave us insight into her past. Granted its only canon in the anime but thats perfectly fine with me and probably a lot of you too for once. (Since normally most manga readers aren’t fond of changes in the story)

Because now we know more about an amazing soldier.

Her father obviously heavily abused her if while being /ripped apart/ by /titans/ she saw him doing it instead. Its pretty obvious she was hallucinating. Possibly from blood loss. I mean she did have her leg torn off. Also maybe from the amount of sheer pain she was going through. Just like Mike, Nanaba was ripped into pieces by a bunch of smaller titans. An agonizing death for sure.

And think, her father abused her so heavily yet she still went and became one of the stronger soldiers in the Survey Corps (Well I always assumed she was since shes one of the only survivors from before the fall)

Look how many titans she took out on her own alone. Both her and our boy Gelgar took out even more together. They didn’t even keep count.

Survey Corps soldiers take pride in how many titans theyve killed because it shows how skilled they are. But these guys weren’t worried about their skill at the time being. They were worriedabout saving a bunch of defenseless kids. Sure they’re all trained soldiers but currently they had no weapons or gear aside from a single knife.

They weren’t looking for fame. They even admitted from the beginning they thought they were going to die. For a moment there was hope they wouldn’t but they quickly lost it once more titans attacked and they lost two of the four capable soldiers.

Guys how depressing is it how young Azula was?

see I watched Avatar before I turned fourteen, so I never realized just how YOUNG fourteen is. Now I realize how fucked UP it is for a fourteen year old girl to be manipulating, threatening, and killing people.

Like she’s this brilliant little political strategist, she’s blackmailing and lying to people and starting coups and she’s powerful and talented…

But she’s also really, really fucked up, like, remember when you were fourteen?

You were just a kid, really, you just started high school, you had acne and you said painfully embarrassing things and watched anime.

What was Azula doing?

Well argue that she’s evil, but she wasn’t born like that.

She was made that way.

Unlike Zuko, her personality took their father’s bullshit the OPPOSITE way.

She became what daddy wanted and that made her want his approval more than anything and guess what that brought her?

Misery and mental instability and the inability to connect to others.

Now Zuko’s character development is the greatest development ever written.

But hers is damn close because they HIT THE SAME POINT but Zuko hit it and realized oh shit…my dad sucks.

And Azula hit it and thought I need to become better. I need to become perfect. I’m the problem not daddy.

But she could never be perfect, you see, the world doesn’t go according to your plans, and your father doesn’t love you and won’t, because he’s using you as a pawn and your BROTHER realized this before you.

Your brother decided he wouldn’t be your father’s tool anymore.

I think one of the greatest scenes was when Azula was mangling her own hair.

Like that scene where she imagines her mother…

Earlier she had said “my own mother thought I was a monster” and then looked solemn…but light heartedly brushing it off by saying “she was right of course.”

But that always seemed to me like a quick cover.

Like me when I say “so I’m complete scum…how’s your day?”

You laugh off the things that hurt most.

Maybe she thought her mother hated her because she acted like her father.

Maybe she grew to resent her mother because she loved Zuko more for his compassion and the fact that they were probably more alike than she and her father.

It’s kinda common, actually, for a parent to be more fond of the child that more closely resembles them, it’s an ego thing.

Maybe she subconsciously knew that her father was more like her, but that he doesn’t truly love ANYONE cuz he’s an ass, and she told herself that his approval was enough.

But she didn’t get AFFECTION from him like Zuko got from their mother.

So in that scene where she sees her mother being affectionate but mocking as she tells her she looks lovely, maybe that’s all of her insecurities come back to haunt her.

It’s just.

Avatar is amazing.

Azula being 14 and THIS FUCKED UP.

Like incredible, you will never hate a villain more than Ozai.

He fucked up nations and fucked up his own family, and by all rights Aang should’ve killed him, like you wanted that to happen…but then he doesn’t.

And you realize Aang is a damn monk and all of these people, even if they can’t be saved, deserve compassion.

Azula, I believe, was saved. Zuko had more compassion for her, as he always did, than she ever had for him, but in a way, it’s really not her fault.

anonymous asked:

I know we're all dead but can we talk about how cute it was that he said thank you when she took her top off? And how intimate that moment was when he just took a second to look at her, to breathe her in, to confirm that this was really happening? Cause of death: Olicity.

Oliver was the perfect gentleman throughout that entire scene.

Starting from the beginning, he was… everything. He was a man who was clearly still in love with this woman, but he’d also heard her last season when she said she was, for all intents and purposes, done. He was a man who was willing to get every tiny scrap of her natural sunlight, no matter what the cost for himself. Y’all are lying to yourselves if Felicity wasn’t doing exactly what Curtis suggested when the idea of her trying the salmon ladder came about. She’s all cute and flirty and doing something that shows a lot of skin, and yet, the entire time, Oliver was just so sweet. He didn’t push it, he didn’t take what are pretty obvious signs, he didn’t do anything without her explicit permission and direction. They went through two bottles of wine, my friends, they were quite a few sheets to the wind and still, he was the perfect gentleman. Even when she asked him to help her down, when he grabbed her waist, when he held her close, letting her down gently, cradling her like she’s the most important thing in his entire world (she is)…

(src)

He was just…

(src)

… so Oliver and so respectful and I loved it so much.

But then it gets better.

Felicity finally makes the first move, she kisses him and remember the way he responded?

(src)

(wow they kiss really well like damn well done a+)

He gives it his all because that’s all he wants to give her. He messed up so much in the past, and while the source of those issues are deeply buried and require a fucking bulldozer to unearth, it doesn’t change that it effectively ruined the best thing in his life. But now, now he has her back and it’s everything. Yes, the wine has stripped their inhibitions, but it just scratched off the surface, revealing what they’ve always, always wanted.

(src)

(src)

(This was cute af, anon, I so agree. He’s so totally getting swept up in the sensation of having her in his arms again, of kissing her, tasting her, feeling her, and it’s intoxicating. It takes over everything, leaving no room for anything but continuing to feel those wonderful things. We see that in the way he suddenly spins her, with so much intent, so much purpose - I know I’m not the only one who thought that was going somewhere else - but then he’s so painfully gentle with her. He could absolutely rip her sweater to pieces if he wanted to and he knew she probably wouldn’t complain one bit until later, but he didn’t, because remember, this is the Oliver who has been in love with this woman forever and he lost her and he’s been respecting her wishes in not pursuing a relationship and suddenly she’s here and she’s with him, but that doesn’t change where they are mentally, where he’s at mentally. (Wow, tangent.) It’s marked with that soft, adorable smile of his - that happy smile of his - and the way he says, “Thank you.” It’s really as if he’s thanking her for giving them this chance again.)

And then…

(src)

The passion is back, brimming over, all-consuming, burning them from the insides out, taking over everything, pulling them together like the magnets that they are…

But that’s not all it’s about, not quite. It’s about that, oh yes, but it’s also about connecting again, not just physically but emotionally and mentally, with their very souls. This isn’t just physical for Oliver, nor is it for Felicity, which is what he needs to double check, he needs to see, to make sure that…

Well, that this is happening, that it’s what he thinks it is, that she’s on the same page, that she wants this, that she wants it as badly as he does, that she’s doing it for the same reasons, that…

(src)

(the way he whispers her name, a gasp, a breathless plea… a prayer…)

He has to make sure. He has to. One, because it’s Oliver and when it comes to Felicity, there’s never been a halfway.

Which is so very interesting considering what happened tonight - thinking about it from Oliver’s perspective, he honestly thought he was giving Felicity everything he could. He didn’t know at the time that he was only giving half of himself, only giving her the pieces he felt worthy of her, not realizing that he was hiding things from her, all under the guise of trying to protect her, in his own warped way. He has been broken, in his mind, for so long, but it’s only when he’s whole within himself that he can finally be with her, which we’re finally seeing, thank goodness.

He’s all in or he’s all out and he needs to know that Felicity is there with him.

(src)

But not a simple “Are you sure this is what you want,” no, it’s more than that.

(src)

It’s about them, and their love for each other.

(src)

And there it is. She’s right there with him, her love for him shining through, bathing him in its purity, a cleansing feeling that shines light in the darkest corners of his being (even if he doesn’t recognize it until much much much later).

Cause of death: Olicity

Can we talk about the museum scene for just one moment? She’s looking for the tiny little remains of when people loved and remembered her. She’s trying to capture what she used to be, the amazing and worshiped goddess of her golden years. And all she has left is a statue and jewelry, both which are displayed as a curiosity. Watching this, I actually felt sad for her, even disregarded the fact that she’s killing people to survive. It is so human to be afraid of being left behind and the more time passes, the more human she becomes and the closer she is to disappear. It’s tragic and heartbreaking and I know I should feel less sad about her but god, this scene broke me.

most underrated parts of Beauty and the Beast 2017

•  Maurice cuz he is just the best dad in the world and imagine his pain when he had to leave his wife for saving his baby daughter!

•  Audra McDonald’s amazing parts

•  How in the midst of all this sorrow Can so much hope and love endure?

•  Maestro Cadenza loosing some of his teeth in the battle (appearing with all of them in the finale haha)

•  Forever can spare a minute

Beast’s look when Belle leaves to save her father. Gave me the fucking chills

• The Prince’s laugh in the openning scene (I mean it’s Dan fucking Stevens and he’s gorgeous)

 •  Belle’s kiss on Beast’s forehead SHE KISSED HIM come on

•  When the master lost his mother, and his cruel father took that sweet, innocent lad and twisted him up to be just like him, we did nothing.

okay J, now that the writers queerbaited the fuck outta us, it's time for you to work your magic and give us a longer version of the "belated valentine's day prom". PLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEE

A continuation of this – http://queergirlwriting.tumblr.com/post/157525909609/man-i-would-fucking-love-to-get-a-scene-where-kara

She calls it a pet peeve. But it’s not.

It’s a trauma.

She calls it a pet peeve. But it’s not.

It’s a need.

It’s a need because she was fourteen and high school was amazing because Eliza held her hand and Eliza snuck her dad’s cigarettes down from the house and they crawled into the bathroom of the basement and giggled, their lips so close – Eliza’s lips looking so soft – as they blew the smoke out of the small vent so Eliza’s parents wouldn’t catch them.

But it wasn’t the smoke that Eliza’s parents caught.

It was the card.

The card, the card, the card.

The fucking valentine’s day card.

The betrayal that ended everything.

Because her father called her downstairs with the phone still in his hand and her father smacked her across the face with the back of that hand and her father gave her ten minutes to pack her things and to get out of his house and to never come back because she is filthy and she is ungrateful and she is selfish and she is wrong, and her mother cried but her mother didn’t stop him, and her face stung and her heart stung worse and her hands trembled but her face stayed dry because she would never give anyone the satisfaction of seeing her break for being who she is.

She calls it a pet peeve. Needing to be heard.

Because Eliza didn’t hear her. Her father didn’t hear her. None of her exes had ever heard her.

She calls it a pet peeve because no one has ever loved her enough to let her call it trauma.

Until Alex Danvers, that is.

Because she leaves Alex a card: she leaves Alex a card, and Alex will not give it to her parents. She gives Alex a card, and Alex will do nothing but love her back.

Or she hopes.

She’s probably stupid for hoping. But she hopes anyway.

James and J’onn help her with the set-up, and Winn whips together the dress at the last minute before running off on his own valentine’s excursion. James kisses her cheek before he leaves, as 8 o’clock approaches, and J’onn puts a hand on her shoulder.

“Alex cares for you, Maggie. Just as you are. Let her hold you up when you need it. You deserve that. You do. I promise.”

She gulps and she nods and J’onn squeezes her shoulder.

“He’s right, Maggie,” James tells her before giving the room one last glance. “It looks beautiful. And so do you.”

Maggie grimaces a smile at them, and they understand that she’s too nervous to speak, that she’s too terrified to move. They smile at her before they leave, and she hangs onto the hope that these people, these beautiful people, will still love her after tonight.

She doesn’t know how long she waits for Alex, because she can’t think. She can’t do anything but try to swallow her panic, surrounded by red helium balloons and candlelight and all the things that reminded her of the bruise her father left on her face and the welts he left on her heart.

She can’t do anything but try to focus on Alex, Alex, Alex. On hoping that Alex will be different.

This is a relationship, Alex had insisted. And it’s that statement, Alex fighting for her, for them, that is keeping Maggie holding on.

“Wow, you’re breathtaking,” she says when Alex walks in, because god, god, god, she is.

“Maggie, what is all this?”

Alex’s voice trembles slightly as she asks, and somehow, that warms the protective steel around Maggie’s heart. She smiles slightly, her voice softer now.

“It’s your belated Valentine’s Day prom.” She reaches for the corsage and sends James a silent thank you for running to the florist and picking up exactly what Maggie had described.

“May I?” she asks, and her body tingles with relief as her fingertips touch Alex’s wrist.

Alex exhales hard, exhales shakily, and steps around Maggie, and the back of the dress – god, thank you, Winn Schott – takes Maggie’s breath away. Again.

“I’m sorry. So sorry. I was too busy nursing my own wounds, and I forgot to look at the gorgeous woman in front of me and consider her feelings. You deserved all of this, as a girl. The pomp and the fuss. And you deserve an amazing romance with a woman who is absolutely crazy about you.”

She tilts her head and she stares up at Alex, because Alex is perfection, and Alex’s hands are warm in hers, and Alex makes the color red on Valentine’s Day a little less terrible, a little less traumatic.

But Alex is shaking her head and Alex is reaching her fingers up to run them through Maggie’s hair, to stroke her cheeks, to fuss with her blazer’s collar.

Maggie’s heart sinks and she starts panicking, she starts hyperventilating, but then Alex is talking, and Maggie wants to cry for an entirely different reason.

“Maggie, I… you deserve this. The pomp and the fuss. An amazing romance with a woman who is absolutely crazy about you. And I’m absolutely crazy about you. And that… that means… Maggie, that means you don’t have to make it all about me, all the time. I love that you… I love that you thought about me, I love that you did all this, but Maggie, you…”

She stops and she stares down at Maggie’s wet eyes for a long moment, and there’s nothing but unguarded love in her eyes, and no one has ever existed but the two of them.

“You have nothing to apologize for. You didn’t do anything wrong. Maggie, I… I heard you. I heard everything you said. And because I heard you, I… I don’t want you to just shove all that back down to make everything about me. Again. You did it while I was coming out, and I get it, and you’re so sweet, Maggie, but I don’t… I don’t want you putting yourself second for me, not anymore. I don’t want you burying your pain, your… trauma, Maggie, you were a child, that was traumatic, I… I want you, Maggie.”

She brings her fingers to a lips and kisses them, one by one, slowly, deliberately, all while keeping her eyes locked in Maggie’s, before she continues.

“All of you. And this is beautiful, this is amazing, but Maggie, I want you to feel able to just… to vent, and to scream, and to lose your cool, to cry. With me. Because I want you, Maggie, I care about you, not… not just what you can do for me. You letting me in, you letting me care for you, letting me comfort you? That’s the greatest gift you could ever give me, Maggie. You… you letting me love you.”

Alex stumbles to a halt and Maggie’s breath hitches as they both realize what Alex said, as they both lose themselves in each other’s eyes, in each other’s hands, in each other’s hearts.

“Danvers, you – Alex, I – “

Alex shakes her head with closed eyes. “You don’t have to say anything. I just… I want you to know that you’re cared for. That you’re safe. That you’re allowed to put yourself first, that I want you to put yourself first. That you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. That you’re perfect. That I l…”

She stares down at Maggie’s wide eyes and she licks her lips and she is Alex Danvers, dammit, so she dives.

“That I love you. Maggie Sawyer. All of you. And I just want you to let me love you, let me care for you, let me be here for you. Let me love you.”

Maggie takes one breath, and then another, and then one word escapes her lips.

The only word that matters in the entire multiverse.

Alex.”

And her hands are on the small of Alex’s bare back and Alex’s hands are tangling in her hair, cupping her face, her thumbs swiping across her cheeks, and Alex’s lips are soft and Alex’s lips are healing and Alex’s lips are heaven, and she’s never cried while she kissed anyone, she’s never cried in front of anyone without running out the door before the first tear could fall, but she’s crying now, and Alex is catching her tears with her thumbs and kissing them away with her lips, but Maggie doesn’t want Alex’s lips on her cheeks, her eyes – she does, she does, but later, later, because there will be a later, because Alex went to the dance with her, Alex didn’t give her note to her parents, Alex came to the dance with her and Alex is kissing her and Alex is holding her and Alex, Alex, Alex  – Maggie just wants, right now, Alex’s lips on her own, and she shifts, and Alex knows, because Alex knows her, and Maggie’s lips are parting and Alex is slipping her tongue in her mouth gently, gently, lovingly, and Maggie sighs into their kiss and Alex echoes it and their breathe, their heartbeats, their bodies, are indistinguishable as their bodies sway to music and to swaying lights and to the rhythm of their perfect kiss.

“I love you back, Alex Danvers,” Maggie’s whispering into her lips, and the tears dripping salt onto her lips are suddenly not only her own, and she pulls back, because Alex Danvers crying is heartbreaking, and Alex Danvers crying is beautiful.

Their chests are both heaving slightly and their lips are swollen and their bodies are flush against each other and their bodies are intertwined and their eyes refuse to leave each others.

“May I have this dance?” Alex asks her breathlessly, and Maggie smiles helplessly, because she knows her life will never be the same.

Because she knows that Alex means it when she says she loves her, and god, god, god does it feel good to be loved – and to love – like this.

I literally just cant. Sometimes are you guys hit by the fact, that Lexa the stoic Commander, with the wisdom of generations, fell in love with a smol girl who fell from the sky? She bared her soul to her, and she protected her, and improved and changed her entire life and the ways of her people for that small bi bean?

She was so beautiful. And strong. And just…. Powerful. She moved us all. She inspired so many of us. She inspired hundreds of thousands of us to revolt against the media and their view of the lgbtq youth. She changed the lives of so many

For me, the most powerful yet heartbreaking scene was one of her very last happy moments. That smile, that smile she gave Clarke as she leaned down to kiss her on the bed. Do you guys remember? That smile. It was like… Seeing her for the first time. Happy. Relieved. Satisfied. She looked so beautiful. And raw. And fucking amazing.

I miss her so much

GODDAMNIT THAT WAS PERFECT AND I AM SO MANY EMOTIONS AT THE SAME TIME IDK WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT BUT LIKE

FIRST OF ALL, CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW KILLIAN JONES JUST LOOKS MILDLY IRRITATED AT POTENTIALLY BEING BURNED AT THE STAKE?

AND EMMA SWAN BURSTS IN, IN TRUE EMMA SWAN FASHION. WITH ONE THIRD OF A PLAN AND A TON OF FUCKING LET’S DOOOOO THIS!

AND KILLIAN IS LIKE OMG IS THIS A FUCKING DREAM EMMA EMMA EMMA EMMA

HE FOLLOWS HER THROUGH A PORTAL JUST LIKE HE DID WHEN THEY FIRST GOT TOGETHER. ALWAYS FOLLOWING HER HOME.

THIS WAS AMAZING BECAUSE HE’S LITERALLY RIGHT ON TOP OF HER AND HE MUST BE HEAVY BUT EMMA’S JUST LIKE YESSSSSS MY PIRTAE IS BACK IN MY ARMS

AND THEY JUST HAVE EYES FOR EACH OTHER. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT? REGINA AND HENRY HELP THEM UP BUT THESE TWO ASSHOLES

CAN ONLY LOOK AND TALK TO EACH OTHER AND CANNOT STOP FUCKING TOUCHING. THIS WHOLE SCENE, THEY’RE CONSTANTLY TOUCHING AND IT HURTS ME. LOOK AT THIS TENDERNESS LIKE THE FUCKKK

AND HER GIVING HIM HIS HOOK BACK BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW THAT MUST BE BOTHERING HIM AND YOU CAN TOTALLY TELL HOW INTIMATE OF A MOMENT THIS IS BECAUSE REGINA IS LOOKING AWAY THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE THIS IS SO COUPLE-Y AND INTIMATE AND THE FUCKING FUCK

AND STILL THEY ONLY LOOK AT ONE ANOTHER AND EMMA’S PUTTING HIS HOOK ON FOR HIM AND I JUST DIE BECAUSE HOW MANY TIMES HAS SHE DONE THIS ALREADY? EARLY IN THE MORNING, PUTTING IT ON FOR HIM BEFORE KISSING HIM GOODBYE OR TAKING IT OFF AT NIGHT WHEN THEY GET HOME AND HIS ARM IS DRAPED AROUND HER ON THE SOFA AND SHE JUST PULLS IT OFF AND I AM JUST IMAGINING A MILLION MOMENTS AND IT IS KILLING MEEE

THE APOLOGIES WERE FUCKING PERFECTION.

AND THE FACT THAT THEY BOTH APOLOGISED FOR THEIR MISTAKES AND THEIR OWN FEARS IN THE FIGHT THEY HAD AND THE BOTH OF THEM UNDERSTANDING ONE ANOTHER’S FEARS TOO LIKE HOW PERFECT

AND THEN THIS. FUCKING THIS. I KNEW IT WAS COMING. I WAS NOT READY AT ALL. LIKE AND HE EVEN SAID BEFORE I GET THROWN INTO ANOTHER PORTAL AND LIKE REGINA AND HENRY LEAVE BECAUSE IT’S AN INTIMATE MOMENT AND THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT WHY ARE THEY SO PERFECT

AND THE RIGHT WAY THIS TIME HE SAYS. FUCK ME DEAD OK?

AND THIS SPEECH. CARVE IT INTO MY FUCKING SOUL BECAUSE IT CANNOT GET BETTER THAN THIS. HE’S ASSURING HER, PROMISING HER THAT SHE CAN BE CERTAIN OF THE ONE THING SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AFRAID OF HER WHOLE LIFE. THAT HE WILL NEVER ABANDON HER. THAT HE WILL BE BY HER SIDE, ALWAYS. SHE CAN BE CERTAIN OF THIS FACT.

THE SKY IS BLUE AND THE GRASS IS GREEN AND KILLIAN JONES WILL ALWAYS BE ON EMMA SWAN’S SIDE.

THIS LOOK KILLS ME. HE IS SO IN LOVE WITH HER AND I AM SO FUCKING HURT.

*THROWS THINGS* FUCK THIS. FUCKING FUCK THE SMILING AND THE CRYING AND THE PURENESS OF THIS MOMENT.

WILL YOU MARRY ME, HE ASKS. AS THOUGH SHE COULD EVER SAY ANYTHING BUT YES. LOOK AT HIS STUPID HAIR AND HIS STUPID EYES FULL OF HOPE AND HIS LIPS IN A HALF SMILE. LOOOOOK

AND THEN SHE FUCKING–SHE FUCKING KNEELS TOO.

OF COURSE SHE SAID YES BUT FUCKING LOOK HOW HAPPY THEY ARE I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I HAVE BEEN BLESSED ONCE MORE TO SEE THIS HAPPEN IN THE WORLD.

THE PURE, WONDERFUL BEAUTY OF KILLIAN JONES AND EMMA SWAN IN LOVE.

THE FUCK IS THISSSSSS. THE SMILING AND THE FACE TOUCHING AND THE SMILING AND THE FOREHEAD LEANING AND THE SMILING UGHH

SHE’S MUSSED UP HIS HAIR AND SHE WON’T STOP TOUCHING HIMMMM

THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HIM WHEN HE’S NOT LOOKING? THAT SLAYS ME MORE THAN ANYTHING EVER. SHE LOVES HIM SO MUCH. LOOK AT THOSE EYES.

LOOK AT THEMMM *THROWS MORE THINGS*

AND FUCKING SNOW WHITE AND PRINCE CHARMING WENT INTO A SLEEPING CURSE

TO SAVE HIM AND HE’S LIKE FUCKING FUCK BECAUSE WHO WOULD EVER AND HE’S GOT SO MANY PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM NOW AND HE’S JUST OVERWHELMED

BUT THEY NEVER LET GO OF EACH OTHER’S HANDS KILL ME DEAD

I AM NOT A HUMAN ANYMORE.

MY BODY IS A PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR.

HELP, I NEED A HUG.

anonymous asked:

I'm totally not thinking about the extremely flirty body language between Alex and Maggie after Alex got her job back. And I'm also totally not thinking about the activities they partook in when they got home

JUMP ON BOARD ANON WE ARE GOING FOR A RIDE!

So i just need to pick apart two things about Maggie’s body language from this AMAZING scene.
First of all, the not-so-subtle way she checks out Alex, looking her body up and down as she says, “Though you do…” before calling her “arm candy”. You are about as subtle as an air horn Maggie…

AND THEN. OHH BOY. THEN SOMETHING HAPPENS. And it’s really subtle and most people would probably look over it but here i am to point it out to all you Ride or Die shippers….
When she says, “…make good arm candy” she protrudes her chin out and leans her head back as she says “arm candy”.

So you might be asking… well cool. But why is that significant Jess? BOIIIII I’m about to bring in some body language SCIENCE.

According to body language experts: “Jutting out the chin towards a person exposes it and says ‘Go on, I dare you, try to hit me and see what happens!’ This can thus be a signal of defiance, if not towards the other person then instead towards some situation or person in the conversation.Often, when a person is feeling confident, their chin will jut out slightly as they hold their head up and maybe tilted slightly back.Jutting may also exposes the teeth and is a thus a threat to bite which may be added to an aggressive display.”

Maggie is confident and almost challenging Alex while complimenting her. I’ll let your imaginations run wild there…SO if you need more any more evidence of them getting it on immediately after this–THERE YOU HAVE IT! I mean if you weren’t already sold by the hooded eyes and overly sexual glances. I mean I’m not trying to say their sex is kinky… but I’m saying their sex is KINKY.

michonne playfully saying “gimme that” - as she gleefully *snatches* a gift of mints from rick...

aaaand … she *snatches* the chili mac-n-cheese from her hubby, too.

rick did get to hand his queen the cat sculpture gift, tho. lol.

and, now that i think about it … michonne playfully does this to both grimes men.

… she also *snatched* half a big-cat candy bar from carl in jest of her loss of that railroad rail-walking bet.

this scene was so amazing … to watch rick - watching his son - having this light-hearted moment with this remarkable woman. i just loved the “it’s-just-us-three-in-the-world-at-this-moment” look on rick’s face during this scene; rick actually chuckles and smiles, which under the circumstances was a really incredible thing to happen.

michonne brings happiness, hope, heart and home to the grimes family - to rick. rick and michonne belong together! richonne and grimes 2.0 forever!!!

Gunshot (a sneak peek)

So… This was written way back in January (yikes), when I first started to write the mafia au fic 8 Days a Week and only @kawaiilo-ren and a couple other people have seen it. You might think you’ve seen it before, because Kait is a babe and she’s been drawing the amazing comic of this scene (and murdering me along the way).

My plan was to keep this private until it was time to publish it on Ao3 but life is short and I actually like this. People will probably forget by the time it’s published there anyway, oops.

Under the cut because it’s long.

Hospital hall is looking cold and bleak under the fluorescent lights, like it did many hours ago. Yuri doesn’t remember how long it’s been since he left the building but coming back feels like returning from war, maybe. He doesn’t know what war feels like. It must be exhausting, if it resembles this even slightly.

Ignoring his shaking hands is easy, as is turning a blind eye to his pulsating head ache. His body is crashing after riding through the adrenaline waves and he would kill for a nap; but that would make the list of things worth killing for longer and he isn’t sure if he is ready to deal with the paperwork. He isn’t ready to deal with anything yet, he just wants to return the weapon to its true owner and fall into a lifelong slumber.

Cute Things from Stephen King’s original script for “Chinga (Before Chris Carter’s re-write):

1. Scully herself is a victim of the grocery store frenzy caused by the doll; she ends up hitting herself in the head, but later lies to Mulder over the phone, saying she’s fine, because she doesn’t want him to worry.

2. Mulder is NOT completely helpless in this version of the script; in fact, he is preparing to go make a speech at a university, but bails to go see Scully when an officer faxes him a picture of Scully hurting herself in the grocery store (more on this below).

3. Actual lines from the original script:

*After Scully suggests ergot poisoning may have caused the grocery store attack, Mulder goes into graphic detail about the effects it has on people, and Scully responds, “I love it when you talk dirty.”

*A minute later, Scully declines Mulder’s offer to come help her, and when he then wonders why she called him, she responds, “I guess I just missed the sound of your voice.”

4. The ending scene, as written by King, is amazing. (One final note before you read it: in the original script it is even more obvious that Sheriff Jack Bonsaint has a crush on Scully. And at the end of the episode he asks for her number, implying that he would maybe come to see her in Washington D.C. Then, this happens):

BONSAINT: Maybe we could—
He stops, realizing that she’s stopped paying attention to him. He sees where she’s looking, over at a man in a topcoat who is sitting on the bench outside. There’s a briefcase between his knees. It’s MULDER. Scully is out of the car almost before it stops, and hurrying over to him, her face amazed and intense. Behind them, Bonsaint gets out and stands watching. Maybe he won’t find any business to do in Washington, after all. Maybe there wouldn’t be much point.
SCULLY: What are you doing here, Mulder? How did you get here?
MULDER: Hitched a ride from Andrews to Portsmouth Naval Air Station in an F-111. Those Navy kids drive fast. You okay, Scully?
SCULLY: Fine. Why did you come?
MULDER: (shrugs; smiles) I thought you needed help. Call it woman’s intuition.
SCULLY: What about your speech? Weren’t you supposed to give a speech at George Washington University tonight?
MULDER: The world’s not short of speeches, Scully. It’ll get along without mine.
They reach the top of the steps and face each other. This is a classic lovers’ shot, profiles like you’d see on a Valentine’s heart, lit by one radiant overhead globe.
SCULLY: This is the second time I’ve seen you tonight, Mulder.
MULDER: Really? Want to tell me about it?
SCULLY: It might hurt my credibility.
MULDER: (identical delivery) Really? Want to tell me about it?
CAMERA moves in on Scully as she thinks.
SCULLY: I might. I believe I just might.

FADE TO BLACK

SCULLY: (in the black, and with a touch of reverb, perhaps) I believe—

Can we please talk about how surprised Mon-El seemed that just being there and holding Kara was enough?

I felt like when he was talking with Winn and he said “what’s left for me?” what he meant was “what’s left for me to do for her?” as in she’s Supergirl - what could she need from him? I think he was kind of afraid to ask and have her realize that she didn’t actually need him for anything.

I think he realized in their last scene that being there, supporting her in the simplest ways, was enough for her and it kinda blew him away. I think he was struggling to see what he could give to someone so incredible and strong and I think those little expressions - the smiles and the soft looks on his face - were showing us that he understands that yes she’s amazing beyond words but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want someone to be there for her at the end of a terrible day.

He asked what she needed from him and he probably wasn’t prepared to hear that just being there was enough. From what we know about his past there probably hasn’t been a time in his life when just being Mon-El was enough for someone. Especially someone he cared about and that he wanted to comfort and support. He is so new to all of this and I can’t imagine what it meant to him for her to tell him that all she wanted from him… was him.
