she is such a misunderstood character

V OPENING VIDEO BREAKDOWN

I am posting the ENGLISH lyrics as well as the characters that show at that point in ( )…a number following so you can see my ramble about it. These lyrics are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. This song is beautiful.

In search of shining ray

Daffodil swaying beneath the blaze (V shown)*1

Trying to bloom with all its might (Rika)*2

It puts in all it’s heart

This, a song of dreams sweetly sung

This, a song of memory lonely sought (Jumin and Zen)*3

Into the light the flower may flourish (Jahee and Yoosung)*4

It takes a push to make me perish (Saeyoung and Saeran)*5

Shall there be light, do forgive me

Even the act I feign to protect me

Shall there be hope, flower shall blossom

Even if surrendering my everything in whole (V)*6

Love tenderly this daffodil (Picture of V and Rika)*7

The sun is the mother of all.

*1. V is alluded as a flower, in this piece. As he often calls Rika his ‘sun’ it would make sense. As much as a flower needs a sun to thrive and grow, V also needs Rika to live. Or, rather, he sees that he lives BECAUSE OF her. He is happy living, swaying beneath the blaze of her bright beams.

*2. ‘Trying to bloom with all it’s might.’  Rika seems through the game to look a bit down on V and his dependence. To me, this comes from a point of view of someone looking down at this daffodil, watching it struggle to live and keep going but never giving up, much like Rika with V. Through her, he is trying to thrive as much as he can, by any circumstances. He puts his whole heart into loving her, because through her, he lives as well.

*3. ‘Lonely sought’ these two characters are arguable the loneliest in the game. They both feel misunderstood. They both feel as if they will never find someone to love them. They are too complicated. Their lives are too.complicated! This line really applies to them both and it is beautiful and a smart move with this placement.

*4. ‘Into the light the flower may flourish.’ BOTH of these characters were essentially lost. Jaehee was in a dead end job she never intended on staying at, Yoosung lost his motivation after Rikas “death.” But, with MC’s guidance…they are shown the light…and they FLOURISH. Like a flower. Make sense??

*5. This one is a bit more intense and deep. ‘It takes a push to make me perish.’ The Choi boys have been through a lot. ‘It takes a push’-could mean the push that Rika and V gave Saeyoung to go into hacking and Saeran to join the cult, leading them out of the light and into this darkness, causing them to perish. They trusted these people, and all they needed was that extra push to go into it.

*6. ‘Even if surrendering my everything’ this is so classic V, understandable that he would be shown during this line. He doesn’t care if he loses everything he is. Like the secret endings, he is willing to die as long as he can prove his undying love to Rika. He gives himself willingly to the person he loves

-BUT-

*7. ‘Love tenderly this daffodil’ hurts a lot. It shows a new side to him. We usually only see V as this love addled fool. But this line. He gives himself, puts himself out there for her, and yet…he is scared. He wants a kindness in return. Please, love me tenderly…No, love [at all] tenderly. I may be devoted to you, living under you, but please, don’t hurt me.

-The sun is the mother of all-

Rika is the center of this entire damn game. She is. Every single character revolves around her. The plot revolves around HER. Plain and simple. Rika is the epicenter and that will never change.

—————

And she did. She hurt him, badly. Many times.

Chertiz, take all of the time you need. Because I want to be able to romance and heal this poor boy properly. I do.

i adore adore adore the fact that the four main characters of skam are so significant for teen culture of this day? as a teacher in secondary school, these are genuinely teenagers’ struggles that i’ve seen in everyday life.

with eva, we saw the loneliness and loss of identity of teenagers (specifically girls!) within a peer culture that requires a lot of social interaction: you need to “know” where your place is and that is your identification; through dating, but also through friendships. but, as eva said, maybe it’s okay that she doesn’t know right now, and that she has to find it.. on her own. one of her biggest strengths in the end is how honest she has become; with herself and with others.

with noora, we see a character who explicitely identifies herself as feminist and finds a lot of value in being morally upright. but what happens when situations aren’t as black and white as we think they are? moreover, what happens to a girl who has been sexually harassed, and violated, possibly even raped? noora shows us that at the very least, it is important to communicate with people about your experiences to be able to get through those horrible experiences, even if it is only a little bit.

with isak, we delve into the psyche of a lgbt+ teenager who has seen representations of lgbt+ culture in the media and has enormous difficulties with identifying himself as such. but his story doesn’t end there even though other shows might have stopped there; his misconceptions about religion (god doesn’t exist!!) and mental illness (i don’t want them around/ they are crazy) are real thoughts that go through people’s heads (especially in western culture). these are all perceptions that are formed by society, but it is important that isak was never demonised for these ideas; through communication with different kinds of people he got educated on things he thought he knew about and that changed him into the mature person he is now.

and now, with sana, a muslimah with one leg in the Western culture and one in her religion which is seen as “unwestern” by many who critique it, has the time come to delve into a deeper understanding of those who experience (daily?) hatred in their lives through media and society. once again, communication seems at a forefront: “don’t let me be misunderstood” – listen to my experiences, to my life, to my explanations. she has been so infallible before, that it will be interesting to see what is going to be her challenge in her season; a character who is so focused on being right in everything she does – i think her unintentionally making a mistake having an effect on her and the people around her would be an excellent story.

i guarantee that this series will have a long lasting effect on how teenagers, and people, are going to view each other in the long run. media teaches us to be afraid of each other; skam is that small light that shows there is more than fear.

there’s also love. in compassion, in understanding, in educating.

and i can’t wait to look back on it all and say: you know, that norwegian series for teenagers in 2015? i felt validated, i felt heard, i felt loved by that series. i’m gonna show my love in return to other people. because we have learned something from it.

alt er love.

The possibility of Otayuri becoming canon

So in this post-Welcome to the Madness daze and with the information that has been released today, I would like to do some speculation about the character dynamic between Yurio and Otabek and the possible implications for this ship to become canon. I have already written a bit about this in a comment to another post here, but I would like to elaborate.

Again, this is just me throwing around ideas, with a good dose of wishful thinking.

-          Otabek enters the story quite late as a character. He is there from the beginning but we only get to see him interact with the others from episode 10 onwards. The focal point becomes what his relation is to Yuri. He whisks him away on his motorcycle, takes him to one of the most beautiful vistas in the city and then casually drops how he has admired him for the past five years. Then he offers Yuri his friendship, which has apparently never occurred in Yuri’s life before, they go for a coffee and Mari is stunned to see Yuri normally interact with another human being for a change. It’s up to you to ignore any fond gazes during this scene. What’s worth mentioning is that Yuri seems kind of perplexed by this whole thing. The “eyes of a soldier” line gets to him, because it is probably the first time someone sees him for who he wants to be.

Uchiha Family Analysis Ep. 21

I have been a quiet Sasusaku shipper for a while, but I want to share some of my thoughts about the current episode. We haven’t gotten the Uchiha family together in a while, so I wanted to celebrate this episode with my interpretation of some key scenes. I had a lot of feels in this episode so this is a long read 😂😂.

Sasuke Reunites with Sarada: In this scene, obviously, Sasuke is regretting not being able to recognize Sarada after they had reunited after so long. He’s obviously been too caught up in his mission and never imagined that Sarada would unexpectedly appear in front of him. Not only that but he threatened her with a sword and saw the fear in her eyes and her Sharingan activated. Maybe a part of him imagined that when they would finally reunite as a family, he would be free from his mission and duty and they can finally all be happy together. Accidentally threatening his daughter with a sword was not his dream of their reunion and he is angry and regrets this lost chance.

Unfortunately, he knows that he doesn’t have the luxury to comfort her because of the looming threat over their heads, so he pushes her away to protect her. He questions Naruto about why Sarada is here, which Sarada interprets as her father not wanting her to be there.

Sarada doesn’t understand the Uchiha connection and how their hearts are connected even with distance, a distance needed in order to protect her. She starts attacking him and questioning whether he cares about his family at all, and Sasuke is shaken by her words and how he is being misunderstood in that way. Sarada resents him, which he expected, but was not prepared for.

Especially having her in front of him unexpectedly and given the situation of their reunion, Sasuke is being consumed by guilt and simultaneously a longing to return to his family after seeing Sarada all grown up.

Sasuke and Naruto discussing Sarada: Like Naruto had said before he had left on his mission…

Sasuke is so misunderstood as a character because his intentions in this scene are pure, but he struggles with communicating these intentions with the people he loves (in this case Sarada). He is being so selfless in this scene, giving up the opportunity to be next to his family to protect them and the village, going on the mission alone so that Naruto wouldn’t have to leave his own, while keeping it a secret so that Sarada won’t unnecessarily worry about him and his safety. Even if he is misunderstood and Sarada resents him, it is more important to keep her future and Konoha’s future safe (bright).

Side Note: I was also livid that the Kage Summit was not animated as well. That scene was SO important, especially for those who didn’t read the manga, but what can we do about SP? I am trying to remain positive. Obviously, it happened before this scene which is right before he is leaving on his mission. Naruto asks only about Sarada, which means that Sakura is well-aware of his mission and his reasons. Plus, I kind of liked how they highlighted Sasuke’s relationship with Sarada and his reasons for keeping it a secret from her.

I had mixed feelings about this scene. I find this scene sad because Sasuke almost ended the world in order to fight for his family, and now that he finally has one, he is unable to be there with them because of his mission to keep them safe. It’s such a sad circle because Itachi pushed Sasuke away to protect him and the village and now he is doing the same with his daughter, all along with the additional knowledge of how it hurts to be on the other end being pushed away. He understands Sarada’s resentment well and has regrets about not being able to be there for her, but I feel like he is trying to convince himself of the importance of his mission in this scene and how everything will be okay if he keeps them safe from the outside while Sakura is there to take care of and protect Sarada from the inside. He obviously trusts and has faith in Sakura to take care of Sarada when is away (a part of him maybe even believing that Sarada is better off in Sakura’s care than his own because he will never fully forgive himself for his past), but he is trying to conceal the part of him which regrets not being there next to them.

Sasusaku Reunite: His regrets are further elaborated when Sakura enters.

Here is where the Uchiha connection/Sasusaku connection is beautifully portrayed. First off, when he asks Sakura the same question about why she’s here like he did about Sarada, unlike Sarada, Sakura just smiles at him being well experienced with Sasuke’s method of communication. Just one look, and she understands that Sasuke is worried about why they are here near him where danger looms when they should be safe in the village.

I know people are angry over how dramatic this next scene was and how it seemed like Sakura was ignoring him, but I personally didn’t interpret it that way. This scene just KILLED ME with feels. The way I interpreted it, Sasuke is regretting how everything went down with his reunion with Sarada. He is struggling with his emotions after seeing his wife and daughter after so long so he shoots his wife a look…

If there is one person who understands Sasuke and his silent pleas for help, it would be his wife Sakura. Sakura obviously misses him after all this time apart (Ino vacation date reminiscing scene) but she selflessly puts her daughter and husband’s feelings first in this scene and holds back her own. She’s the emotional anchor in the family and Sasuke is lucky to have her because she understands Sasuke’s true intentions better than anybody else. I find it beautiful that the Sasuke who keeps to himself has truly allowed himself to depend on another person. That’s why he trusts and depends on Sakura to take care of things with Sarada when he’s gone and here again he is pleading for her help. Sakura sees in his eyes her husband’s love and longing for their family. She coped with the distance better than Sarada because she understands the Uchiha connection and how Sasuke and their family are connected by hearts even through the distance. Despite being away from each other so long, their connection and bond is stronger than ever and one look from her husband and Sakura immediately understands his pain, regret, and apology in regards to Sarada and their family. Being the amazing wife she is, she wants to put her husband’s worries to ease (like she’s done all this time when he was away) so she shoots him a quick smile, takes over and walks past him to Sarada to comfort her in his stead.

Additionally, the way I interpreted it, the reason why the scene was edited to seem dramatic with her walking past him was because it represents the current disconnect Sasuke feels from his daughter. Obviously, the Uchihas’ hearts are connected even with the distance which Sakura understands, but Sarada is too young to and Sasuke doesn’t expect her to.  As Sakura is walking passed him, his feet remain planted to the same spot because while Sakura can walk passed him and comfort Sarada, he is “stuck” in the same place. She has questions about his absence which he cannot answer. He just threatened her with his sword and saw the look of fear in her eyes, but he cannot comfort her with answers without fully disclosing the truth about his mission and putting her in further danger. When Sasuke sees Naruto outside of the village, he tells him to deliver an apology in his place to Sakura. Uchihas value family bonds more than anything else, his family is obviously always on his mind, and Sasuke is trying so hard to conceal how much he needs to be next to them. He longs to be with his family, next to his wife and wants to run over to Sarada to embrace her, but there needs to be a distance between them until his mission is complete.

When Naruto questioned him if Sarada’s resentment towards him was worth it, he convinced himself that if it meant he can keep his family safe and the future “bright,” that’s only thing that mattered. However, as he looks back to Sakura hugging Sarada, you can see the look of regret on his face. He is her father and should be able to comfort her in her time of confusion like Sakura is doing, but he can’t be honest to Sarada and there for his family in the present without compromising his mission to keep them safe.

He is trying to convince himself that this is what is best situation in order to keep his family safe, but he is affected by Sarada’s pain and the distance from his family as much as Sakura and Sarada are, if not more. It is heartbreaking how he blames himself for his family’s pain due to his absence, even if his absence is to protect them.

I frankly don’t understand claims that Sasuke doesn’t love or care about his family. This episode proved that he is willing to sacrifice everything in order to keep them safe and protects them at the cost of his own happiness. Of course, that’s expected from a Uchiha who always puts family #1.

If Red Queen characters had pets
  • Cal: A giant nice happy golden retriever named cookie that everyone loves and cuddles.
  • Mare: A black cat named sunset that follows her everywhere she goes, hates every stranger she meets and spits on them.
  • Farley: A hawk named hawk.
  • Maven: A very venomous snake named Maven because there are a lot alike: venomous, evil and misunderstood.

I have so many feelings about Zoe Evans, and her beautiful face 💫

The Three Pillars theory of Azula

Azula is one of the most fascinating and complex villains in children’s media, or indeed in any media.  She is both abuser and victim, both deeply cruel and deeply afraid.  Often, discussion of her breaks into two camps, either she was born the way she is, or that she was abused, and she was made into the character we see onscreen by that abuse.  Either she is a “psychopath” (an outdated term that has been widely misunderstood and keeps shifting in meaning), and she was born the way she is, and she either wasn’t abused, or abuse didn’t affect her, or she was abused, and how she was raised made her into who she is.  I don’t think either of those positions are correct.  There is no code that says that predators don’t abuse other predators, and there is nothing in the world that makes abuse magically not damaging.  I have spent a great deal of time figuring out what makes this character tick, and what made her stop ticking at the end.  So how did nurture and nature come together to make Azula?  Bear with me, it’s a bit of a story.

Hannah James as Geneva Dunsany on Outlander 3x04 Of Things Lost

“On a broad spectrum, people refer to Geneva as this selfish, spoiled, and manipulative girl. I understand where they’re coming from, but as the actor [playing her], I also had to come at it from Geneva’s perspective, and obviously she wouldn’t say those things about herself. I think she’s very misunderstood and grappling with a lot of difficulties that people don’t give her credit for. They are obviously focused on the characters they love, and they absolutely should. Who isn’t in love with Claire and Jamie’s storyline?” -Hannah James

Dear Dream Daddy Devs,

@dreamdaddygame

Hello, my name is James. You don’t know me, but hopefully this ‘letter’ reaches you and you get to know me. You recently held an interview admitting that Joseph was intentionally written to have no good ending, and that you were taken aback by the fact that so many people wanted him to have one.

While I understand that you wanted to put a fun twist on things and I respect you for it, making the twist be “well, you shouldn’t have dated him anyway” is probably the most offensive thing you could have possibly done. I’ll delve into why a bit more in a second, but first I want to point out that creating a dating sim where you can’t date one of the characters is basically akin to having the final boss in a FPS one you have to fight entirely through melee. While it sounds like an interesting idea, there’s a reason no FPS has done that before.

I was raised in the middle of Montgomery, Alabama. My father, the man that I am still afraid to come out to, took me to a southern Baptist church every Sunday. It was there that I learned that being gay was a sin, that I should repress any feelings I have and, if I didn’t, I was a disgusting sinner and I deserved to go to hell. I still to this day have trouble admitting that I am a Christian because I have so many terrible memories about that church.

So, you can only imagine how amazingly happy I was that you created a game that had so much diversity that it even included a gay Christian character. I was fucking ecstatic, even! I felt like someone was finally acknowledging me as a person who exists rather than a joke on TV. It was amazing! And then you had a trans dad! And a gay black man!! My God!! It had everything!! I had to buy this game when it came out because it not only spoke to me, but to other minorities that exist that I saw in some of my friends.

And then I finished Joseph’s route. I was shocked, at first, thinking maybe I did something wrong? I mean, my character prompted me to try again, after all. So I played it again. And again, and again. Still, no better ending than him staying with his wife and you either being dumped or a ‘side piece’. Researching the game only made it worse, because now not only was I upset that I couldn’t get a good ending with a character that resonates with me, but so much of the fandom had started spreading posts about Joseph being a terrible man for cheating on his wife.

Let’s actually talk about Mary real fast; you say she was your favorite character and that you wrote her to be misunderstood in the end, and I get that. She’s a really good person, but surely you realize you wrote her as an alcoholic, neglectful wife that actively cheats on her husband? Like, on Robert’s third date, she walks away with a man hand in hand. If that wasn’t you trying to imply that she was going home with him, then maybe you should consider re-writing that entire interaction. You wrote Joseph and Mary into a knowingly toxic marriage, but decided that, in the end, you weren’t going to give either of them a good ending. By not letting Joseph have a good ending, you’ve trapped Mary into a marriage that she in not happy in. You did both say she was your favorite character, yes? Give her a happy ending, then.

Oh, and also while we’re on the morally grey characters, uh, you gave Robert a good ending while one of his routes is basically him sexually manipulating you? You gave him a good ending. Why can’t Joseph get one where he divorces Mary, says that he may need a break, but he still wants to be with you? Like, how is that any different than Robert’s “okay I need a break but I still want to be with you”? But, I digress.

My name is James. I am a gay, Christian man that was raised to believe that there was something wrong with him. I am a man who was absofuckinglutely ecstatic that there was a gay dating sim that featured a gay Christian character in it. A gay Christian character in a failing marriage that reads, at least at first, like so many of the stories you hear from the south where gay men are forced into straight relationships because otherwise they might get fucking attacked in the street for daring to be queer. I’m serious, I remember my mom telling me a story about how a gay club got attacked by someone when I was six/seven years old. Christian gay men getting attacked by another Christian man who couldn’t stand the fact that they existed.

Joseph was my representation, and you wrote him to be a character that you intentionally could not date because you wanted to make a dating sim with an interesting plot twist for, I don’t know, social allegory or whatever.

Thank you for making a game with an amazing amount of diversity. I have so many trans friends that are beyond excited that there’s a mainstream game with a transgender character that you can actually date. I’ve seen black men online go crazy because they have representation in a video game.

But I am not going to thank you for Joseph Christiansen. I am not going to thank you for creating a character that I know resonated with so many other gay Christians out there that you admit was in there to basically just make the player feel bad.

I don’t want my money back because I still want to support you and I’m glad I did because you’ve done so much good with this game. You’ve given representation to people who normally don’t get any of it at all, and that’s amazing! All I want is for you to, please, at least read this and consider adding in a good ending for Joseph. Consider giving him an ending similar to Robert and having him admit that the marriage wasn’t good for him or Mary. Consider giving Mary and Joseph the good endings that they deserve.

Thank you very much for reading,

- James

adam driver didn’t cry when he wasn’t a part of tfa marketing uwu it’s all about the money they get!!!!

unless it’s not? they sidelined the poc like it was nothing FINN DESERVED TO BE UP FRONT AND CENTER IN THAT FUCKING TEASER TRAILER OR THE POSTER AND IT WAS OBVIOUS JOHN WAS SUPRISED IN A BAD WAY WHEN THEY FIRST SHOWED IT DURING SWCO him and daisy were the leads, they were in this together and suddenly kathleen kennedy and his good ole pal rian johnson decided they only needed rey??? those who know me know that i simply live and breathe for my queen daisy ridley and i love rey and it’s so sad to say this but even tho she’s the main if a poc played her the story would become ONLY about kylo ren

it’s just kathleen kennedy doing shit

john didn’t even bother retweeting the trailer, he wasn’t excited AT ALL remember his reaction video when tfa trailer came out…… you did wrong to that boy and i hate everyone responsible for it KELLY MADE A GODDAMN TWITTER ACCOUNT right before the release of the trailer she was probably hopeful to see her character’s debut but it didn’t so she didn’t tweet anything and left it there

oh but adam driver, the ugly white man who plays the character that KILLED FUCKING HAN SOLO OFF is right to have that trailer all for himself

fucking rian johnson would replace rey’s scenes even if he could probably for the sake of his misunderstood child being explored better

i’m just so SO MAD

“each of the seven embodies all of the seven” ft. arya stark:

  1. the father: arya personally deals out judgement & justice to those she’s seen commit crimes that went unpunished. she believes “the man who passes the sentence should swing the sword” because her own father taught her that
  2. the mother: arya is the starks new wolf mother tbh. she fiercely protects and provides for any she considers pack. her interactions with weasel are also very motherly. she gives water to dying men on several different occasions which is an act of mercy. she even acts as a caregiver for sandor clegane after he’s injured
  3. the warrior: cat sees arya as the warrior, even without knowing about her swordfighting antics. aryas fought in battles and carries a sword. she hates feeling scared and weak and prays to (her) gods for bravery
  4. the maiden: arya is on the cusp of maidenhood and is growing into a beautiful young lady. she’s associated with the maiden of the tree too.
  5. the smith: valar dohaeris y’all. he doesn’t just represent crafts but labor too. arya busted her ass scrubbing in harrenhal and does the same in the hob&w. she works hard and enjoys feeling herself become stronger
  6. the crone: arya has the true sight; the ability to see things as they truly are which is a wisdom most people dont have. arya’s also had a very extensive education in everything from history to language and spying.
  7. the stranger: yes, theres a lot of death in aryas story. the stranger is also very misunderstood by the people of westeros just like arya is by this fandom

the seven individually represent specific virtues and when combined they create one complex entity. much like a fully realized character. so if you treat characters as if they are a singular aspect you end up with one dimensional figures which is why theyre most definitely not supposed to be interpreted in that way.

I sincerely do not understand why people insist that Harley is some sort of sanitized, misunderstood anti-hero who wouldn’t hurt anyone for no good reason and that we fans who love her as a villain are somehow wrong and just don’t “get” the character when she’s done things like DUMP A BUCKET OF FLAMING NAPALM on an unsuspecting man’s head. She didn’t do it because Joker told her to and she had no choice, she did it of her own volition solely as an attempt to make him laugh. That’s her nature as a character with or without Joker’s influence in the picture–she wants to make others and/or herself laugh, and sometimes that comes at the expense of innocent, unsuspecting people.

It’s perfectly fine if you don’t like this adaption of the character–comic characters go through so many transformations that there’s bound to be something for everyone to enjoy, and it’s not my place to tell you what you must and must not like–but maybe don’t get mad at people who love Harley for being a villain when that’s exactly what she’s been for years upon years of comics. A VILLAIN.

(panels are from The Batman and Robin Adventures #18)

i want. villains to just be villains. stop trying to make them redeemable. stop trying to make people sympathize with them. stop trying to make it seem like every evil person is just some poor misunderstood sack of pain. some people are just evil for the sake of being evil. i want to see less “see they’re not mean they’re just sad !!”

when yellow diamond was introduced it was awesome!! she was cold! she was ruthless! but then there’s blue diamond and the song yellow diamond sang.

like if you wanna make people sympathize with a villain maybe don’t make them extremely cold, violent, heartless, and literal colonizers with a damn human zoo.

Thank you teen wolf

It’s a real sad moment when your favorite show ends. One that you’ve swore you’d stop watching but came back to see what else would happen. Keeping up with the cast of the show. Seeing their other projects. But always coming back to this show no matter what projects they do.

Jeff Davis, even though most of us lowkey or high key didn’t like the show after certain characters were killed off *cough cough* Allison, Alden, Brett *cough*

But you sir have created one hell of a show for us to watch. One that covered serious issues that people go through in high school. Or go through in their every day lives.

Sexuality, bullying, money struggles, mental health issues, health issues, death, what it’s like to have a single parent. I could go on for hours.

But you gave us something special and showed us characters that weren’t perfect. Characters that weren’t afraid to be themselves.

You gave us the noble scott mccall who would do anything for his friends, and anything for people. Even if it meant letting the world know who and what he was.

You gave us stiles stilsinki. The funny, ADHD , hyperactive spazz who was smart and could figure out anything. But was also so clumsy he would trip over his own feet.

You gave us Lydia Martin. The popular girl who was afraid to show her smarts. The girl who developed into one kick ass character who became unafraid to speak up and share her amazing knowledge.

You gave us Allison argent. The shy new girl, who has had her high highs and low lows. Someone who was able to redeem themselves after everything they’ve done. After she lost very important people in her life. And also gave her life for her best friend. So that she could make sure she was safe.

You gave us derek hale. The misunderstood older bad boy. Whose experiences hardened him. But who does care about people. And would even go back to help his young friend. Someone who’s lost family and been heart broken. Those experiences softened him. And made him a great man.

You’ve given us characters, who we love dearly and will forever hold close in our hearts. You’ve given us a show to watch every week. For the past six years. And for that I thank you. Because this show has really touched a place in my heart, as it has for other fans.

So thank you teen wolf. For one hell of a ride.

Crowfeather AU

I was never a huge fan of Crowfeather really, but I could see that he had more potential than… what we eventually got.

I feel like the Erins never were quite sure what they wanted to do with him. In the first moment he was a misunderstood misfit teen with leadership potential,  the next he was a troubled outcast with a heart of a romantic, and then he was a bitter abusive husband and father.

I can buy that leadership-material young Crowfeather would make a mistake and fall for forbidden she-cats, and then that young-adulthood mistake would come back and bite him in the butt later on.

But what never quite sat right with me was the whole situation with Nightcloud and Breezepelt. I mean, introducing a bad family as a character backstory is something I might find interesting if done right, but here… it’s really not. I mean, Crowfeather is just down-right horrible yet it feels like he never gets fully called out on it or punished for it. And on top of that I feel like the whole thing never got a conclusion.

Like, they had this idea of Breezepelt having a tragic backstory which leads him to the Dark Forest, but they never did much with it except have him be an ass and aggressive on occasion.  Not to even mention that Nightcloud’s only character trait is being b!tch just so we would feel more sorry for Crowfeather and it would make Leafpool look better…

The idea of a one-night-stand getting both Night and Crow stuck in a disfunctional family is sadly realistic and interesting as an idea, but I just don’t think it was executed well.

Instead, I was always fascinated with the idea that what if instead Crowfeather did find true happiness in WindClan after Leafpool, but then just lost everything again as the truth about the Three came out?

Hear me out:

• After Crowfeather breaks up with Leafpool he is naturally heart-broken. Not only has he lost a cat he loved, but also he is resented by his own clanmates, for a good reason.

• However, instead of being a cold-hearted dick and getting it on with a first she-cat he can, Crowfeather actually starts to use his own resources to win back the respect of his Clan. He helps to clean the elders’ dens, he eats last and hunts a lot, he is polite to everyone and bites back any bitterness, allowing himself to be a pushover because he knows his Clan has good reasons not to trust him.

• And in time, it starts to pay of. His Clan starts to trust and respect him again. They invite him to eat with them. He gets to lead patrols. He actually starts to feel home again and less lonely in his Clan.

• And during that time perhaps he starts to grow close with another WindClan warrior, Nightcloud? Instead of being posessive and naggy, she’s actually nice and reliable. Still feisty and sharp-tongued but likeable.

• As Crowfeather grows close with her, he once again starts to wonder if he could, after all his mistakes, actually find true happiness and family? Could he actually deserve that?

• Eventually Crowfeather and Nightcloud do become mates and have kits. Sadly most of the litter dies (which Crow sees as StarClan’s punishment for his actions in the past) and only Breezekit survives. Only this time instead of wrongfully abandoning his son, Crowfeather acts like a father towards Breezekit. Maybe he’s not Shellheart good, but he still tries. Maybe he can be too demanding and get in to arguments with his son because their tempers collapse, but he’s still always THERE for Breezekit. And that’s what matters.

• And for a moment, Crowfeather is actually happy. He has a loyal wonderful mate and a son he is proud of and supports. After all this time, he actually found a family to belong to and a peaceful life in WindClan. He is respected and liked and future looks bright for him.

• Then the truth comes out. It is made known to all the Clans in a public gathering that three ThunderClan warriors, Lionblaze, Jayfeather and Hollyleaf, are in fact his kits from a mistake he thought he had already left behind.

• And then, in that moment, Crowfeather can feel all his hard work being shattered to pieces. The respect he had worked so hard to get back, gone. His new mate who he loves dearly, heart-broken, the feeling of betrayal clear in her eyes. But worst part for him, is his son Breezepaw (in this AU Breezepaw would be moons younger than the Three so the timeline makes more sense). He can see the disbelief in his son’s gaze and then, anger.

• Life goes on in WindClan, but this time it’s worse than before. Crowfeather has once again lost the respect of his Clanmates, but this time he knows he can’t get it back no matter what he does.

• Nightcloud is devastated. She has always been a loyal follower of the Code and now the cat she loves has broken it. However she doesn’t abandon Crowfeather. After all, she still loves him, but things are never the same between them and Crowfeather can feel her become more distant as the time passes by.

• And Breezepaw? Oh, he doesn’t even want to talk to his father anymore. The cat he had always admired as a survivor and honorable, has now become a walking epitome of betrayal and disloyalty. His father is now the least respected cat in the Clan and of course Breezepaw can hear about it. Every day. He can hear cats gossiping behind his back, giving him looks. Theorising if Crowfeather ever truly loved his WindClan family at all and only took Nightcloud as a mate to prove his loyalty.

• Breezepaw feels alone and lost. And that is what slowly starts to drive him towards the Dark Forest. Hawkfrost and others manipulating him to believe the rumors, teaching him to resent his father and his kin in ThunderClan that is poisoning his life with it’s existence.

• Crowfeather’s life is slowly ruined by something he did when he was young and reckless, and there’s nothing he can do to fix it. Not anymore. He becomes bitter and angry. Wondering why does StarClan hate him like this? Why can’t he just be happy?

• Then when the battle of the Dark Forest comes, he is confronted by his son, now Breezepelt. Breezepelt accuses him of all his lies, how he used Nightcloud and him just to prove he is not as rotten as he really is.

• Crowfeather denies this, telling how he deeply regrets what he has done in his past and how he has dedicated his entire life trying to make it up to WindClan.

• And finally in the battle, he gets his redemption. He manages to protect WindClan and safe Onestar from death, dying himself in the process. Bringing an end to his life full of mistakes and regret, but on his last breath he can feel like he finally did something right.

Maybe it's way too sappy, but I always wish they would’ve given Crowfeather a little more dignity and full-thought-through character arc and also done that with Nightcloud and Breezepelt.:/

Okay but the real underrated character from Class is Tanya.

Why I ship dramione and why it is not an abusive relationship

Let me be blunt. Dramione is always on the receiving end of unnecessary bashing for reasons that are mostly bullshit and I’m getting tired of it. I understand that at first they may seem to be an odd pairing but it’s actually a good ship once you give it a chance. Let me lay out some facts:
- Hermione and Draco are actually compatible. They are both smart, powerful, brilliant, and loyal to what they believe in and to the people they love. They are more alike on that aspect than they are different. Yes, they are both born at the opposite sides of war, and they were schoolyard enemies, but that is just a factor to them being a “star crossed romance”. People like the idea of a “forbidden love”, ie. Romeo and Juliet, Pride and Prejudice, etc. It has been going on for centuries and it is still going on until now, so wake up.
- Well written, impressive fanfics. Like, ridiculously underrated fanfics that mostly feature the redemption arc of draco malfoy and his chance to prove himself to be a good man. Girls dig that kind of stories.
- To the argument that dramione is an “abusive relationship” on grounds that “he victimized her, called her racist slurs, and bullied her” that’s bullshit. And as opposed to what, drarry? Fun facts: draco and harry hated each other. A lot. Draco bullied Harry throughout their entire course in hogwarts. Draco also pointed out his half blood status, so that counts as a racist slur, surely. Furthermore, they legit tried to kill each other. Draco threw a cruciatus curse to harry, and harry almost killed draco with a sectumsempra. On that accounts, does that also mean that Drarry is an abusive relationship? Draco may have been a bully to Hermione too, but he never tried to crucio her. If youre a drarry shipper and shit on dramione using that argument, then your logic is flawed, try again.
- Dramione shippers don’t romanticize abusive relationship, because we don’t believe that dramione is abusive. For the ship to be abusive would be ooc. That would imply that Hermione is a pushover. First of all, Hermione Granger is the brightest witch of her age and ridiculously brilliant. Shes SMART, and POWERFUL. Shes more than capable to stand up for herself and logical enough to not be victimized by her partner. And secondly, y’all portray draco as this misunderstood angel but once he’s paired with Hermione he’s suddenly a monster?? ? make up your minds! Draco used to bully her and hated her, yes, but that’s because that’s what his family taught him since he was a kid. In dramione, draco changes his opinions and defies his family to be with her. His character develops from a spiteful racist to a defector, and in most fanfics, he is a turncoat, a good guy.
- At the end of the day, a ship is just a ship. What’s more important is that we respect each other’s opinions and preferences. To hate on dramione to join the bandwagon just because it’s what “lit” people do is immature and petty. Get over your prejudiced asses. Let’s all be mature about this and just let people love what they love, and exist harmoniously as potterheads.

So in sesong 3 we had a theme of parallel universes, right?

Well I think the trailer for sesong 4 is setting us up for some chaos theory, more specifically: the Butterfly Effect.

(I’m exhausted so I won’t go into details. I just wanted to get the base idea out. I got the idea from seeing this post.)

The Butterfly Effect can be, if we simplify it enough, summarised this way: a butterfly flapping its wings could end up causing a tsunami on the other side of the globe.
The idea that a seemingly small and/or insignificant action somewhere in the universe could trigger a chaotic chain reaction that will lead to a bigger and/or significant event.

In Sana’s trailer, we witness a sort of domino effect (only the difference between the domino effect and the butterfly effect is, how I understand it, that the domino effect is when one event sets off a chain of similar events whereas the butterfly effect has the chaotic element to it that makes the events triggered not necessarily similar or “chained” -> there’s no logical “suite”, no uninterrupted string, something unpredictable in the grand scheme of things: butterflies flap their wings all the time, yet not all of them end up “creating tsunamis”): her tripping Noora triggers a series of events that end up making Even bleed.

We see Sana seemingly in control of the reaction. The trailer ends with her smiling knowingly at us.
But that’s the reversed series of events.

Sana smiles before tripping Noora, indicating positive intent: we know Sana is not mean or “evil”, we know how much she cares for her friends,we know how clever she is. So we understand her smile as playful and her stare as knowing.
But the chain of events seems to get a bit out of control, ending up in bloodshed.
Maybe that was her intent all along. Maybe she knew (magic hijab I’m looking at you!) somehow that Even would end up with a nose bleed and she made it happen for some higher purpose that is unclear to us yet.
But I think that would be another show.
SKAM has been a very realistic show with realistic characters. No supernatural element (even the oui-ja board outing Isak can be explained really simply). I think Julie’s “shit’s about to go down” and the trailer is giving us an indication that there is chaos ahead. That not everything will go according to plan but please

please

Don’t jump to conclusions before THE conclusion. Don’t be like Isak who initially believed Sonja and misunderstood Even’s intent.
Don’t misunderstand whatever is about to happen.

You know how Julie loves her parallels and how much care she puts in closing plot lines, closing loops. I strongly believe we’re going to come full circle at the end of sesong 4. Full circle of a series of chaotic events triggered by our characters existing in the universe of SKAM.
See the first clip of sesong 1 as a stone thrown into a lake. The undulations it caused are ending: disappearing on the surface of the water after initially expanding.

We’re coming to the end, we’re going out

but not without a bang.
