“You really agreed to marry me or am I dreaming?” Nate asked and ran his finger down her cheek. Laelia smiled under his attentions.
“There is no way I would say no. I love you too much,” Laelia said with a smile. This time, she didn’t hide her face after her confession.
“You made this place even more special. I didn’t think it was possible,” Laelia whispered and closed her eyes, taking in her surroundings, the freshness of the air, the night chill and the smell of of the sea. Who would have thought that she would marry the man whose dangly parts captivated her so long ago… or maybe it did make sense when she thought of it. He was different from what she thought, strong willed, kind, understanding and beautiful were only a few of his adored traits.
“I hope when we have kids, they turn out like you,” Laelia said absentmindedly. She expected him to tease her, to laugh, to lighten the mood as he normally did. However, upon opening her eyes, she saw his wide eyed expression and the redness of his cheeks. Was he… blushing? She didn’t think it was possible.
“I… I was terrified you’d say ‘no’ somehow and now you’re really thinking of it… thinking of us having kids. Shit, this is a dream. Pinch me now,” Nate responded and caressed her cheek. Laelia moved into his touch, savouring the moment. They’d make each other happy, she would make sure of it.
