she is obviously too good for him but i hope as seasons go on she turns him into a better person

The final scene in Monster Bash addressed what we all thought, that Star was rushing things too much in this half of season. She had all the best intentions, obviously, but still didn’t stop to think, to plan, for a moment - and Eclipsa’s influence, despite how little they talked together so far, didn’t help for sure. As soon as Star got over her nasty obsession heartache for Marco’s smell she seemingly set onto changing her life for good. Become a better princess, improve Mewni. Maybe she didn’t stop even for a moment because she feared she might have relapsed into her old habits of leaving things unfinished, running away at the first difficulty, and that’s why she was annoyed by Marco’s return at first in Lint Catcher: Not because she didn’t want him back in her life, but because she was scared of what it could have lead to (this obviously turned out not to be the case, since if anything Marco is the most supportive person she has).

Could this “youthful rashness” apply to Tomstar as well, though? In Club Snubbed Star was initially clear on what she’d have liked Tom to be: a friend. But she was quick, even too quick, to change idea in the following episode, as soon as she saw in him a “kindred spirit”, someone who was going through a similar situation of great changes (plus great duties from being a royal heir).

Could the accelerated pace at which Tomstar happened be blamed on the writers wanting to find a quick and easy way to add drama to the mix, or (and I truly hope it’s this second case) it was all part of Star “rushing things to a fault” new style of life? Tom’s behavior and priorities didn’t match Star’s ones in Monster Bash, but this got fixed before the end of the episode, making up for some good growth moments for Star. The opposite didn’t get addressed further, though: Star’s priorities and expectations in their relationship didn’t seem to match Tom’s ones, and I don’t think this can be blamed on how busy with the planning she was. While Tom wanted to kiss, Star reacted in a playful, almost childish way.

Could this be Star’s version of the events addressed in Sophomore Slump? Just like Marco couldn’t put full effort into his relationship with Jackie because part of his heart was always with Star (because let’s be real here, the issues where there way before The Battle For Mewni, even when Star was still living on Earth), Star can’t be fully invested in her relationship with Tom not only because she was too busy with Mewni, but because that’s not what she truly wants, just what she thought she needed.

Is it possible that just like Star tried to change Mewni overnight, just to realize that’s not as easy as it seems, she might have also tried to change her feelings for Marco way too quickly for her own good?

Felicity is the most misogynist thing about Arrow.

Felicity has consistently, from as far back as season 1, viewed every other woman has her competition. She’s thrown every other female character under the bus to better herself and it genuinely baffles me that Felicity fans accuse those who dislike her of being misogynist, because Felicity has - since her conception - been the writers primary tool to facilitate their own misogyny.

Felicity dug into Moira’s background (granted she was enlisted to do so, however she continued even after she was specifically told to stop). Felicity then used the information she’d found on Moira (that also involved Thea) as she saw fit, with no regards for the women in question. She told Oliver, simultaneously dismissing Moira’s privacy, driving a wedge in the Queen family, viewing Oliver’s opinion as higher than either Moira or Thea (who the info ACTUALLY concerned) and faciliated the writer’s need for Queen Family Drama and more Oliver-man-pain.

Felicity made a petty remark of “What was it fantasy island?” Because she found out about Shado and Sara being present on Lian Yu. Oliver is traumatized and is hallucinating about a dead Shado, is consumed with guilt over her death and has consistently expressed that the island was too horrifying for him to talk about. And Felicity gets so jealous over the mere existence of a dead girl who was a part of Oliver’s life literal years before Felicity even knew he existed, to the point where she makes scathing comments and flippant remarks about his trauma.

Felicity needs to be reassured and explicitly told that SHE is Oliver’s ‘girl’ when Sara joins the team, because she doesn’t see Sara as an equal and is so threatened and intimdated by another woman joining the team they needed to literally specify that Felicity is The Girl ™. God forbid women work togehter and value each other without being pitted against each other.

Felicity called Oliver’s own mother diabolical AT HER FUNERAL, clearly not having any respect (if not for Moira as a person then she should have AT LEAST have respect for what she meant to Oliver), and this disgusting comment is never addressed or considered out of line in the narrative whatsoever. She also made a similar quip after Amanda Waller was shot.

Felicity is rude, dismissive, ashamed of and disrespectful to her mother near constantly. She looks down on her for not being as intelligent and slut shames her for her dress, despite the fact Donna raised Felicity single-handedly and dotes on her daughter completely.

Before I go on I’d love to point out that ALL OF THIS SO FAR (with the exception of the Waller comment) took place in Seasons 1&2, because people seem to forget that Felicity has always been awful, and they’re viewing the earlier seasons with rose-tinted glasses because seasons 3&4 were just THAT BAD.

When Season 3 started, Olicity was suddenly a thing, and they shoehorned in some flashbacks to try and make it more feasible, one of which included Felicity randomly walking into her boss’ office at QC after hours with no purpose, spying a photo of Oliver on a desk and commenting aloud to herself how cute he is and how “its a pity you’re dead”. This doesnt have anything to do with her treatment of women, but atleast her lack of respect for the dead is a consistent character trait!

Felicity continues to throw Thea under the bus, what started with Felicity telling Oliver about Thea’s true parentage, driving a wedge in the family and neglecting to tell Thea (or moira, who’s secret it was to tell), continues with Felicity outright telling Oliver not to save his sister because it might result in his death (a risk that Oliver has already stipulated that he’s willing to take).

But it gets worse!! A newly resurrected Thea is struggling with bloodlust and is too traumatized to return to her apartment because of what happened there, she moves in with Laurel, because Felicity and Oliver wanted to drive off into the sunset and play house. Months later it’s revealed that Felicity has been consulting with the team behind Oliver’s back the whole time and not once did she suggest they return and not once did either of them consider that Thea might need him. Its also never once addressed that Felicity was wrong for lying and keeping secrets, because Felicity is never wrong!!

(Also in The Flash, Felicity straight up told Eddie that it was completely fine for him to lie to Iris if it was for her own good!)

Then, when Felicity finds out Oliver fathered a child years ago that he didn’t know about, her temper tantrum caused such a distrubance in the team dynamic that they got killed and Barry had to go back in time to correct the timeline to stop it from happening. So Barry obviously knew about the kid.

William’s mother straight up tells Oliver that she doesnt trust him or his intentions and if he wants to get to know his son then it has to be a secret and strictly as a family friend until she’s convinced he’s in it for the long haul (this makes total sense given the Oliver she knew was a selfish, egotistical playboy who was NOT father material, she needs to see that he’s changed, and not overwhelm her son unnecessarily if it turns out that he hasnt).

When William is kidnapped and Felicity finds out about him as a result, she is petty and juvenile while they’re working, completely dismisses and gets snappy with Samantha when she apologizes, even when Samantha takes full responsibilty for what she asked Oliver to do, and not once does Felicity ever ask about William’s wellbeing. Felicity is surpised to discover that William - like Oliver - likes baseball, and makes YET ANOTHER SCATHING COMMENT AT OLIVERS EXPENSE by saying that they should hope the resemblence ends there, because she apparently thinks that her fiancee has absolutely no positive qualities whatsoever that might be nice to pass on.

Felicity then breaks up with Oliver for lying to her, even though he didnt want to but had to if he wanted to know his son. Even though she spent months lying to him mere weeks earlier, even though she told Eddie that lying was okay. Even though she told her mother the prior week that it was okay if Quentin kept things from her because she should trust he had a good reason.

Felicity then keeps the apartment (yknow the one that used to be Thea’s until she had to move in with Laurel to deal with her trauma), as a result Oliver slums it out in the Arrow cave, because depsite running for Mayor, Oliver is unemployed. Felicity has a CEO salary but of course she keeps the apartment. She’s Felicity. God himself shit her out and she is completely right all the fucking time even when shes a self-righteous, hypocritical piece of shit.

Felicity makes bitchy comments about the breakup when theyre trying to work even though she was the one to end it, she then tells Oliver that he will always be who he was on that island. She basically told him the most traumatic experience in his entire life is all he will amount to, and the person he is as a result of his trauma is not someone she can love and its his fault that he’s that way because apparently she’s a victim blaming piece of shit as well as a hypocrite.

Laurel dies and on her deathbed tells Oliver that Felicity is the best thing for him despite the fact she loved him too. The writers wanted to 10000000% make sure that we all know that Felicity is The Girl ™ and anyone at all that might’ve potentially maybe been competition just pales in comparison, my guy.

Diggle is traumatized by the situation with his family and Felicity makes YET ANOTHER INSULTING, DISRESPECTUL “JOKE” AT OLIVER’S EXPENSE by saying Diggle is “one illegitmate child away from a great Oliver Queen impersonation”, making another dig at William, yknow the kid that she dumped Oliver over, the one Oliver didnt know about himself until shortly before she did, the kid that Oliver had to say goodbye to, before he’d even gotten the chance to be a dad to, in order to keep him safe. (But she loves Oliver so much guys! Honest! So totally cares about his wellbeing and whats best for him, even at the detriment of herself, I swear!)

TL;DR in conclusion, Felicity is a misogynist tool that the writers have been employing from day one. Its a common trope in fiction. She’s the token female character that all other females get compared to/dismissed for. They pit women against each other at every available oppprtunity and have Felicity become this untouchable writers-pet that is never called out and can never be wrong and she’s just so great and can do everything and everyone loves her and no one seems to question any of the horrible things she does because she is so righteous in her writers-pet bubble!

And because she’s a woman they try and champion this as ground-breaking and feminist, when its actually extremely misogynist and anti-feminist, especially when you consider that if the tables were turned and OLIVER was the one doing all this shit to Felicity, then people would be out for blood and screaming misogyny from the rooftops, but because Felicity herself is a woman, they think that it makes her exempt.

But felicity isnt a woman, she’s not real, she’s a puppet being controlled by men and theyre using a female character to get away with misogyny.

The whole idea of The Girl ™ and the concept that one female character has to be the 'Alpha’ and something happens to every other female to prove that she is clearly The Best of the women, is always inherently misogynist and exists to fasciliate pitting women against each other.

On Keith and leaving Allura behind

One thing I’ve always wanted to clear up is the ‘Keith is cold-hearted’ thing. I can see how the scene of him being ready to leave Allura behind might come across as such, to quote Hunk: “Keith, that’s cold-hearted even for you.”

But that is not how things actually are. Let me explain why he acted the way he did back then, because Keith has had just as many emotions about it as everyone else.

Keith is rational, observant and tends to state stuff exactly as it is, with all facts lied out to make sure that everyone gets the whole picture. (see: how he explained his board in s1e1, how he argues with Lance at the beginning of s1e3 etc.) He has been known to accept critique pretty well - he actively tries to work on his temper (“patience yields focus”) and accepted that Lance’s plan was better than his in s1e7. In turn, however, he expects people to treat him the same way. If there isn’t any evidence to contradict it, he takes things people tell him at face value and accepts them as facts. It is one of the reasons him and Lance clash often, Keith can be found constantly correcting Lance’s statements and Lance doesn’t appreciate that.

This is coupled with his rational personality. I have no doubt that part of that comes from having been forced to grow up without a family and people to comfort him when he was feeling lost, he has had to deal with reality screwing him over quite a lot of times already. He is extremely cautious and protective of his friends when a possible threat appears (see: how he placed himself in front of the team when Klaizap appeared in s1e2), probably exactly because he knows that when they are gone, they are gone. That happened to his dad, that happened to Shiro.

And now he thinks the same thing has happened to Allura.

It is not that he doesn’t want to help her - because he does. He really does, he even said so himself. (And he wasn’t lying. We all know that Keith is an absolutely horrible liar.) In his mind, there were four facts battling with one another: 1) I want to save my friend; 2) “the ship that is headed to Zarkon’s central command?” “the place that’s way too dangerous for us to attack?” (a direct quote from an exchange between Hunk and Keith from s1e10. Keith had accepted that information a fact); 3) we are fighting against an enemy we know next to nothing about; and 4) I am responsible for the entire universe and I can only protect it with Voltron, for which Allura technically isn’t essential.

So he stands there and goes through all the facts. And he comes to the - absolutely logical - conclusion that it is too dangerous to go to Zarkon’s headquarters. He could lose even more friends. He could lose the universe’s only hope. So he does what he always does: suppress his emotions for the greater good. He did that there, he did it when he decided to give up the blade in s2e8.

But then the others turn against him. We can’t see his face when they begin to vehemently protest against his statement-

-but I have no doubt that it would be serious and reflective. The backlash would have made him reconsider the conclusion he had come to. Because that’s what he does when he faces critique: take a step back and reevaluate. Obviously, fact 2) wasn’t quite right. [Also note how open his body language is, he is more than willing to discuss this.]

And once the execution of their plan starts, which means an actual chance for getting his friend back, he is right at the front of the group again.

Keith isn’t cold-hearted. Not at all. Does this look like the face of a cold-hearted person to you?

Because that is the face he made when he came to the conclusion that it would be too dangerous to save Allura. He is not happy about it. He genuinely believed that she was already lost and they were about to condemn the universe for a suicide rescue mission. If there is anything he can do to save his friends, he will do it. Like, seriously - he had never seen Zarkon before that episode. For all he knew, Zarkon could be 5ft tall, wield magic and be immortal. But as soon as he saw a normal-sized Galra in armor, Zarkon suddenly became less of an abstract concept and more of something that he has an actual fighting chance against. Look at how his attitude towards him changed in season 2, at the end of it he volunteered to infiltrate Zarkon’s base on his own!

(Also. He was the one that asked Allura if she was sure that she wanted to come with them: “I’m sorry, princess, did you say ‘we’?!” in s1e10. He was worried for her. There is no way he didn’t want her back.)

Keith constantly watches out for the greater good. It’s what he told Pidge when she wanted to leave to go look for her family - “everyone in the universe has families!” - and what he did when he gave up finding out about his past in the Trials of Marmora. He pushes his own emotions down because he genuinely believes one person’s life and/or comfort isn’t worth putting the entire universe at risk. And that does not equal being cold-hearted.

tl;dr: Keith has had perfectly valid reasons why he hesitated to go on the rescue mission. He wanted her back just as much as everyone else. He is not a cold-hearted asshole.

Soulmates

Okay. NEW SERIES! I had to do it because my love for AJ is beginning to over take my whole life. I did this one based off an AU prompt that’s been floating around. Basically the OC has an antique necklace that her grandma gave her that’s got supposed special powers to find her soulmate. She obviously doesn’t believe that, until she meet AJ Styles (the man she’s been crushing on for a while now), in person for the first time and something odd happens.
I hope you all like it!

This isn't an inconsistency, but you might find it interesting nonetheless. During the Houston con in 2016, Jared launches into a story about eating sour lemons with Gen while visiting the Amalfi Coast in Italy between European conventions, in response to a question about the most romantic thing he's ever taken his wife on. I've always been struck by Jensen's facial expressions during this story, almost like he's remembering it happening... It's on youtube, about 25 minutes into the panel.

WELL WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS

first i gotta say that yeah jensen’s face is very sweet when jared tells the story, im sure it was a nice moment for them and he also gets that pensive face like he’s remembering, you’re right

now i hope you’ll excuse me because im about to elaborate a bit more on this moment

so i found this vid and this one

and basically jensen doesn’t give a fuck as usual and hets are the fucking worst as usual

like literally, that girl asks her question “i was hoping that each of you can tell us about the most romantic date you’ve ever taken your wives on” and first we got the audience “awing”, just disgusting (where is that gif of jared gagging when you need it??) but the real IMPORTANT thing here is jensen’s reaction!!!!!!!!!!! JUST LOOK

HE’S FUCKING EYEROLLING AS SOON AS THE HET ASKS HER QUESTION!!!!!!! OH MY GOD he’s so fucking DONE honestly just look at the video, you’ll see

pics from the other angle (i couldn’t make a gif because the person is shaking, too bad) before and after the question is asked:

he’s so fucking done!!!!!

like what the actual fuck is wrong with hets, who the fuck comes at a convention about a show to ask actors about their personnal lives?????

and it’s even worse since you’re asking closeted gay guys to make up fake stories and making them even more uncomfortable because they have to lie!!

anyway

im also really annoyed because look at all those gifs, look at them!  all those gifs were taken from this video but it has been deleted!!! im so frustrated!! because it seemed like a better angle and with this vid i think we could have had a better look at jensen’s eyeroll!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!! if anyone has saved it, make gifs of this moment please!!!

BUT WAIT IT’S NOT OVER YET

after the questions is asked jensen rolls his eyes but jared makes a joke so people laugh but jensen isn’t done showing he’s annoyed so it goes:

jared: i can’t tell you the entire story

jensen: why not we’re already going down that road (while making this face)

he’s not joking there, he’s done with those hets

and that reminds me of a video where someone asked them for a story about their kids (it was right after they had the first babies) and jensen already didn’t have time for this shit and he says something like “oh that’s it, there’s no more questions about the show, after 9 seasons, now the babies are more interesting” and people were laughing because those dumb hets can’t fucking see that jensen was seriously annoyed, they don’t understand his sarcarm, just like here in houston, they’re laughing without seeing he’s annoyed, just ugh

and then after that they don’t say anything for more than 10 seconds, nothing, just awkward silence because they have to make up some bullshit stories to answer

so jared obviously uses a moment he had with jensen and says something very genuine which makes it look authentic, and notice how he starts by saying that his story applies to all types of couples and saying that the unscripted moments are the most important and he says that one day “gen” told him “if you buy me flowers on valentine’s day and then nothing till the next valentine’s day then you can shove your flowers up your ass” and excuse the fuck me but that’s jensen talking there (and you can see him nodding a lot while jared was saying it lol)

and then he talks about not wanting his personal life to be scripted like it is during work so what they do is that they go on walks. and excuse the fuck me but how could you go on walks regularly since you’re most of the time in vancouver and gen in the US?? oh i know because those walks are with jensen!! and i can totally see j2 going on walks after work together to relax and bound as a couple rather than just as coworkers just like that moment at the beginning of the show when jensen showed jared a nice spot to eat during wendigo or dead in the water. and then jared tells the story in italy because that’s the only place where gen could have also been, during those bearding trips, and just tell me how am i supposed to believe that gen would eat a lemon raw???? are you fucking kidding me jared???? if she had been there she would have rolled her eyes and dismiss him for stealing them just like she dismisses him when he’s being his goofy self. so yeah that’s a total j2 story and yeah see the gifs at the top for jensen’s sweet smiles

and jensen’s answer is amazing!!! because he doesn’t even bother to make something up, he’s like “yeah yeah the unscripted moments right” and then he just said that it was the honeymoon!!!! he says “we really hit it on the head with the honeymoon” “that was one of the best romantic times” and yeah jensen said the best romantic times he’s had with danneel was the “honeymoon” where FUCKING GINO was invited to and where jensen said at another con HE HAD READ A GOOD BOOK!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!!! IS HE EVEN TRYING????!!!! you guys remember that?? right?? that con where jensen remembered a book he had read during his honeymoon, that he had picked up because he was FUCKING BORED!!! DURING HIS FUCKING HONEYMOON!!!! where he had “the best romantic times”!!! oh my god jensen is not even trying i can’t believe this omg and meanwhile that dumb audience is howling and squealing like they’re wetting their panties because jensen shared a fake ass story about his fake ass honeymoon just….. it’s so fucking gross uuuuuuuuugh

and notice when he was done with the answer he IMMEDIATELY said a quick “thanks” and moved super fast to the next question!! he HATED that het question omg

it was like that other het question about knowing their “wives” were the ones, and jared was the one to fuck it up and jensen was the one to turn it into a gender neutral answer

so to end what i wanna say sincerely, from the bottom of my heart:

FUCK THOSE HETS. FUCK. THEM.

for putting jared and jensen in those uncomfortable situations all that so they can have their little fantasies and be comforted in their fake beliefs that j2 are straight and could be happy with women

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I’m done with this god damn hate spreading through the fandom about how they handled the Malec sex scene. YES THEY COULDVE HANDLED IT BETTER AND YES THEY COULDVE WRITTEN IT DIFFERENTLY BUT THEYRE NOW GETTING INTO THE HEART OF THE STORY. They can’t fit everything in 40 minutes guys please understand that. This fandom is literally stooping to the level of the book!fandom and it’s starting to not only piss me off but really start to upset me. There’s literally nothing we can do to change the first half of season 2 but guess what? THEYRE SHOOTING 2B RIGHT NOW AND THAT MEANS THEY CAN STILL CHANGE SHIT. Voice your concerns to them now and make sure they do it better and not fuck up. For the love of God please just…..STOP SPREADING HATE. I REFUSE to see something as pure as this fandom be infected and poisoned like the damn book fandom is. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Voice your concerns but STOP THE DAMN HATE. Not only are we making fellow fans uncomfortable but we’re making the writers and directors feel like shit but have you stopped to think about how Matt and Harry are feeling about this? They work so damn hard to give Malec the representation they deserve and they work long and hard to not turn this fandom into the book!fandom. We all need to learn to respect that and voice our concerns civilly and not harshly. Let them know to change that in 2B. We can’t change 2A. Accept it. Now for the Izzy being addicted to Yin Fin thing? Just because she’s played by a Latina actress doesn’t mean it’s racist. If she was played by a white actress or a black actress or an Arabian or Asian one, the story still would’ve been the same thing. She would still be addicted to Yin Fin. This season is all about character development (THAT MEANS BOTH GOOD AND BAD) and that’s what they’ve been doing. Developing the characters. Clary and Jace are learning to love each other as siblings and move on. Clary is making split second decisions that usually fuck things up. Jace is being a douche because he’s been forced out of the institute and the field. Alec killed Clary’s mom and obviously is not handling it well considering he almost killed himself because of it. Izzy is going down a dark path BECAUSE OF ALDERTREE TRYING TO TEAR THE NY INSTITUTE APART FROM THE INSIDE. Simon grew a back bone and confessed to Clary while at the same time trying to move on and being called out for it by Maia. Magnus is obviously growing to care about the Shadowhunter group and his relationship with Alec is growing beautifully in the midst of this chaos and we’re getting bits and pieces of his back story which is amazing. He’s growing to trust the main cast which isn’t something easy for him to do so he’s opening himself up, and it’s wonderful. Luke is still mourning Jocelyn and that’s perfectly fine she was the love of his life, but he’s not gonna let Clary of anyone push him aside and walk over him like a doormat. Guys this is literally a season about changing the characters whether those changes are good or bad. That’s how character development works. That’s how it’s always worked. It can’t all be sunshine and rainbows and happiness. And Alec punching Raphael? We all know Alec is an impulsive person that’s been proven more times in both seasons especially season one. Isabelle and Magnus probably weren’t able to explain the whole situation before Alec immediately went after Raphael. I’m not saying Alec punching him was OK and I’m not trying to defend him but we all know that Alec is an impulsive person, so before you start to go bitch and complain about how he’s handling it just think for a second on how you would handle hearing your baby sister is addicted to drugs and went to a local source someone that’s in the same room with you to help with it. I would be pissed too and I would probably punch him as well. Because Raphael willingly bit Isabelle that first time in the alleyway. That second time? That wasn’t OK because Isabelle literally forced Raphael to bite her because she didn’t have access to Yin Fin and she was desperate so she went to desperate measures. It wasn’t right and she should feel bad and I hope she does because that wasn’t OK that was the drugs clouding her moral compass. I know we aren’t happy about some of the writing and editing mistakes this season but you have to remember that it’s only the first half of season two it’s already been written and it’s already been approved and aired and we can’t change it. We need to stop thinking we can, they are writing and shooting the second half of the season right now and things can still be changed so go let them know to not fuck up this time. So how about we all stop bitching and complaining about how the editing team could’ve done better or how the writers need to get their shit together and how 2A would be better if they did this thing one way and that thing the other and tell them to do better in 2B. Re-blog and spread this around the fandom please. Because even if I have to hold this whole damn fandom up by myself at the foundations so it doesn’t crumble I will gladly do it. I will not let this fandom crumble and become as toxic as the book fandom is. I will not give that satisfaction to Cassandra Claire. And if you really care about this fandom as much as I do you will re-blog and spread this around. I know this is a long post but this needed to be said. This will not be a toxic fandom I refuse to let it become such.

Believe - A Roman Reigns Valentine’s Day One-Shot

Still hurting from a nasty breakup, Livia is convinced that love does not exist. But Roman decides to prove her wrong…in the most romantic way possible. A VERY FLUFFY Valentine’s Day one-shot. Roman/OC

Livia Myles snorted with disdain at the red circle surrounding the date before tearing her eyes away from the calendar hanging on the wall. Tomorrow was February the fourteenth. Who cared? Everyone on the WWE roster except her, apparently. She used to care, once upon a time. She used to get all giddy with excitement too whenever that date came around. But that was when everything was going right for her.

What a difference one year made.

It felt like it was just yesterday when she was celebrating Valentine’s Day with her fiancé and making plans for their summer wedding. He would soon dump her and run off with another woman a month before they were to marry. Apparently he just couldn’t “keep up with her busy work schedule”. Then, as if she hadn’t been humiliated enough, he proceeded to publicly and unapologetically flaunt his new trophy on every social media platform there was to offer. Her eyes welled up with tears at the thought of that asshole and everything she had sacrificed for his ungrateful ass.

Jared x Reader: Part I

(Part II and Part III)

Pairing: Jared Padalecki x reader

Warning(s): Implied death of Gen and sad!Jared… Like, Jared being sad would make me sad, but other than that, I think it’s good! (Like, literally. This is super chill, and there’s not even a kiss. Nooo! lol [Reader and Jared aren’t a couple yet.] But maybe I’ll write a part 2. idk) (Okay, like two/three cuss words?, but yeah.)

Summary: It’s been exactly two years since Gen died in a car accident, which makes it’s a pretty hard day for Jared, but he still keeps going with his panels.

Word count: 1388 (Whew! Ended up a little longer than I really expected!)

A/N: I just really want to make sure people don’t think that I don’t like Genevieve Cortese/Padalecki. I think her and Jared are a freaking adorable couple, and she’s awesome! This just popped into my head Tuesday morning, so I wanted to write it. (Not to mention all the JIBcon 8 panels I’ve been watching… lol) Hope you guys like it!
(Picture credit goes to @polystyrenejen on Twitter!)

I watched Jared answering questions up on stage from the side door. He’d been doing pretty well all of today, trying to act like he wasn’t struggling with what day it was. He was more quiet and down when he wasn’t around fans, but he smiled and laughed during photo ops and autographs and his panel with Misha had gone well. The fact that most of the fans knew what day it was, was helpful too, since they were being a little more sensitive.

This was his last thing for today, his solo panel.

I was about to head back to the green room, when I heard somebody ask, “What’s your favorite season and why?”

I stopped, knowing what the answer usually was. Season four. The season he met Genevieve in. But today was a bad day to ask that. A really bad day. I turned around to look at him.

Jared froze for a second before swallowing hard. “Um… Uh, probably season four.”

Okay, let it go. You got a partial answer.

“Why?” the fan repeated.

Oh, God, please no…

Jared bit his lip, looking up at the high ceiling for a second, and glanced back. “I, um, it’s the season where I, uh, met-” his voice broke “-Gen.”

The person asking the question looked genuinely confused, as if they weren’t sure why Jared was getting emotional. They were either new and hadn’t had the chance to find out anything about our cast yet or they really just didn’t know much about Jared in general.

I walked up to Ashlyn, the woman who made sure the cast left their panels on time and whispered to her, “Can I crash his panel for the last few minutes?”

anonymous asked:

Do you think that maybe the reason why Jon didn't share anything personal with Dany is because he was trying to deny his feelings for her by keeping things less personal as possible? And 7.07 he was finally deciding to love her?

Hi, nonny!

You know what, the first thing I’ll have to admit is that is that’s a valid argument. It’s completely possible and I have no real way to just outright refute it. It would be mostly in character for Jon, I would expect D&D to be more clear about (in the writing itself, not the additional commentary. That’s not a very reliable source for anything in my opinion… Jon snow is dead as dead, y’all) it if it was the case, but that isn’t a very solid argument on it’s own either.

Before I go on to explain why I believe it’s unlikely, at least in my opinion, I would like to point out tree thing considering the “political jon” theory and j0nerys in general. Buckle up, I will go off topic here.

1) While the theory gives a sufficient explanation for Jon’s behaviour in ep6 and ep7 without him having any romantic feelings towards Dany, it does not necessarily mean that he has none at all. It’s plausible that he is at least attracted and/or intrigued with her. He might even have stronger feelings than this. I’ll go into why I personally don’t believe this a bit later, but there’s no way for me to objectively deny it either.

2) I honestly expected Jon and Dany to have some sort of romantic entanglement (unintentional incest is something that grrm would definitely do), but even with this in possibility in mind, it would still be bad storytelling. I’m not talking about the way it was presented per se, but the implications for Dany’s character development in particular. What really bothers me, or rather what makes me question the romance presented by the show, is the fact that both Jon’s newfound political conviction (Dany should rule the seven kingdoms, he gives up Northern independence to Dany freely because he believes in her cause) seems to perfectly align with his personal feelings (he’s genuinely in love with her). It’s too easy. Dany doesn’t has to give up either to gain the other. Her relationship with Jon comes without cost.

This actually halts Dany’s character development. Or at least, it doesn’t actively further it. She gets everything she wants, both another kingdom’s allegiance and the man she has feelings for. There is no lesson for her to be learned by entering this relationship. She doesn’t have to make a hard choice, there’s no more interpersonal tension for her. No tension means no drama. No drama means no arc. No arc means no story. No story means no point. In the end, she doesn’t even have to decide between fighting the dead or fighting for the Throne. Though this will mostly likely be an issue next season. It all adds up too nicely. Dany should have to make some hard decisions, because that is how a character grows. This should also apply to her relationship with Jon, something that should be of foremost significance to her overall character development. That’s just something I would expect from a romantic relationship between two main characters. Dany should either remain unrelenting on her position on Northern Independence, straining her personal relationship with Jon, or she should be willing to enter a personal relationship with Jon, without also gaining his political support as a subject. Jon saying something like “I love you, but I can’t bend the knee because my people and all.” and Dany being all “I don’t care and stuff” or “I’ll bend the knee, but just so you know I’m not happy about it. I hate that you force me to do this.” and Dany being “I’m sorry you feel that way, but I’ve been working towards this goal half my life and I can’t give you a pass because I’m into you and stuff”.

Some people might accuse me of thinking so because I begrudge her both political and personal happiness, but it simply doesn’t make for a compelling character arc or story. These issues could/should be resolved at the end of the series, not when we still have 6 feature-film long episodes ahead of us. Even if you could explain the, in my opinion unsatisfying development of their romance by saying Jon was simply denying his feelings, this is a critique that remains. Even the revelation of r+l=j would be a rather weak source of conflict if Dany and Jon are in a mutual, deep, sincere relationship AND agree on her being the rightful queen of the seven kingdoms. The romantic relationship between two major characters having no real personal tension during the entire finale season … just sounds implausible to me. Even if their relationship was later hindered by external sources, there should be internal sources of conflict as well, something that they have to resolve in the course of the next season. This is something from a pure story-telling perspective that bugs me about the j0nerys romance in season 7. In my opinion, the marge!Jon theory builds a compelling case in remediating this little problem (in addition to explaining some of the other ooc moments of the season). Don’t get me wrong, all these things can line up … all conflict should be resolved eventually, but not before the conclusion of the story. Not this soon into Jon and Dany’s shared arc.

3) My opinions about all this are of course influenced by my other ideas about the series’s final conclusion. I’m trying to stay as unbiased as possible when talking about the actual direction the series could take (compared to my personal preferences), but my opinion on something as important as the relationship between two major characters is not going to be unaffected by my other opinions, expectations, speculations, theories, conclusions, etc. I do not believe that Dany will win the Iron Throne (a believe I already explained in other posts, and I won’t go into more detail here. This is already long enough), I actually believe her to take an antagonistic role at some point before the finale (I will refer you to the grrm approved “Untying the meereenese knot” essays, or anything on my blog tagged as dark!dany. But be warned: there’s probably an equal amount of warranted critique and salty wank in there.) I obviously believe Jonsa to be a thing by the end of the series (again there are many, many posts and metas on why I believe this on my blog), and while I don’t believe that a romance between Dany and Jon would necessarily forecloses the possibility of my ship happening, which means I’m not desperate enough to oppose “the other ship” by all means, it obviously makes me more critical and suspicious. Claiming anything else would be dishonest. But since believing in the ship, or at least seeing it as a foregone conclusion, makes you less critical and suspicious… you know what I’m getting at. There’s no escape from confirmation bias.

Now, back to the original topic (and this is probably the most biased thing about this entire answer): My biggest argument against this (beside from the one mentioned in point 2) is that Jon has no reason to be in love with her. He certainly has reasons to be attracted to her or intrigued. But I can’t find something that would lead him to develop deeper feelings.

Other than saving him from a suicide mission he only went on because she wouldn’t help him without proof for either herself or Cersei, Jon hasn’t really seen anything that would endear her to him. She does not leave a good impression at their first meeting, she later basically makes him her prisoner, refuses to form an alliance on any other basis than him bending the knee (in contrast to the one she formed with Asha and Theon), he does not seem too happy about her decision to use her dragons (even if she burned an army instead of a city) and as I already mentioned in my political Jon posts, her prioritizing her position in the south over the survival of his people should not exactly make him like her better either. It should be really hard for her to redeem herself for all this in Jon’s eyes, especially to the point where he develops genuine romantic feelings for her.

Some people will argue that saving his life north of the wall was enough, I would argue that since she’s the main reason he even had to put himself in such danger in the first place … it wouldn’t be. So that’s something we could argue about to no end. He says that she has “a good heart”, but we never see Jon witness anything that would bring him to this conclusion. Missandei compliments Dany and tells Jon that “she is the queen we chose”… when Dany is demanding he bends the knee to her … even though his people chose HIM …and not her. He even questions Danys goodness of heart in this very conversation when asking Missandei whether she truly believes that Dany would allow her to leave.

I don’t think that Dany’s wish to be “extraordinary”, her lamenting the confinement and subsequent demise of dragons because it changed her family into “being just like everyone else” after listening to Jorah explaining what makes dragons so dangerous they had to be locked away in the first place, is something that Jon could relate to or appreciate or find particularly attractive. To me, his response “you’re not like everybody else”, sounds like him simply telling her what she wants to hear. Not like him expressing his own thoughts. And despite what some people think Jon is really observant and knows what buttons to push:

Guest right or no, Jon Snow knew he walked on rotten ice here. One false step and he might plunge through, into water cold enough to stop his heart. Weigh every word before you speak it, he told himself. He took a long draught of mead to buy time for his answer. When he set the horn aside he said, “Tell me why you turned your cloak, and I’ll tell you why I turned mine.”

Mance Rayder smiled, as Jon had hoped he would. The king was plainly a man who liked the sound of his own voice. “You will have heard stories of my desertion, I have no doubt.“

ASOS, Jon I

He has appealed to this certain characteristic before, when Dany asks for his opinion on the beach: “The people who follow you know that you made something impossible happen….”. Btw, I don’t think that Dany lashing out against her advisors left a particularly good impression either…. Not that Dany didn’t have a reason to be upset, but despite just coming from their “romantic” cave scene (romantic in lightning, setting, score and some facial expressions. Not so romantic when you think about the topic they talked about… but that’s another issue. Let’s just note this one as a bonding moment), the first real bonding moment between them this is his reaction when Dany tells to him to stay during their little war council:

I don’t know, this doesn’t look like repressed romantic feelings to me. (I actually managed to add both a book quote and a gif.sry about the shitty quality, I made this rather quickly.

And even if Jon was simply hiding his true feelings, the show could have easily done a better job at showing this. Most notably when he leaves Dragonstone to go beyond the Wall. When Dany is taking another step to close the gap between them and he doesn’t react. When Jorah turns around to take a last look at the woman he loves, only emphasizing the fact that Jon doesn’t. The show could have easily written in a scene to make Jon calling her “Dany” in ep6 more plausible. To make this sudden shift from “I wish you good fortunes in the wars to come your grace” less … random. A scene where she offers to converse on a first-name basis, but he declines because “it wouldn’t be appropriate”, for example. Something to stress that he is fighting against these feelings. They could have written in a scene of Jon sharing something before the dragonpit meeting at the beginning of ep7, after the first time he appears to reciprocate her feelings on the boat, or even at some point between the dragonpit meeting and their journey back north. If this was the grand love story of the series I’m sure they could have sacrificed 1 or 2 minutes of screentime to give them some proper, mutual bonding time before doing the deed. Why not replace the group discussion with both of them having a private conversation about their journey north? They could have discussed the same issues. Instead Jon gets another one-one-one scene with Theon, where they talked about their shared daddy issues. (… btw, Jon saying that he isn’t always as good as it seems … it’s just…) Instead we get Jorah worrying about Dany’s safety, while Jon cares more about how her arrival should look like to the north. Then of course there is the issue about how their sex-scene was filmed (no first kiss, no undressing, etc.), but I’m going to leave this discussion for another time. Other people have already talked about this as well.

Now of course all of this is open to interpretation and different people will have vastly different views on this. This is just my own. I simply can’t refute the possibility of Jon denying his feelings because of that. But in my opinion there are still so many things that don’t add up. For me, there are simply one too many indications for Jon lying about or exaggerating his feelings (though… he never actually said anything about them) and too many missed opportunities to establish an actual romance.

Also, this doesn’t fit into Jon’s theme of learning from his predecessors mistakes. Robb did the same thing, “betraying” his people by giving in to love (at least on the show. Something that was brought up again in s6 for no reason by lord glover … though D&D might just love to use the word “whore”, who knows?). If we consider Jon to be the final big “hero” of this story he should learn a lesson from every “hero” that came before him. Now, if he had decided to love her by the end of the season, while still refusing to “betray” his people and their trust by bending the knee it would be a different story entirely.

I will leave it at that. I’m not sure most of this even makes sense and I let my mind run free about this little innocent question for long enough.

TWENTY-FOUR

Harry and I stand in the kitchen of my flat. I’m taking bites of the breakfast sandwich I never got to eat that Trev so kindly put in the fridge for me, and I’m waiting for the tea kettle to whistle. Harry’s taken a quick tour of the space and comes to stand beside me in front of the fridge. Trevor and I keep all our schedules and appointments and reminders on magnets on its surface so we’re informed about our goings-on at all times. Trev’s class and lab schedule are posted up as well as my current work schedule and any doctors appointments I’ve got coming up. Since I’m entering my final trimester, I’ve got appointments more frequently that I’ve got to keep track of, plus the yoga classes I attend a few times a week. There’s also a couple sets of ultrasound photos hanging in chronological order. I see Harry run his finger over them, tracing the outline of the baby as it develops more as the photos progress.

“When’s your next appointment?” he asks, not taking his eyes off the black and white pictures.

I go to stand beside him and point to the calendar just under the photos, laying my finger on the specific date. “End of February,” I say.

Harry fishes his phone out of his back pocket and opens up the calendar on his phone. I try not to peek at his phone over his shoulder, since it’s none of my business, so I go to fetch some mugs out of the cabinets over the sink.

4x02 Recap - Heavy Lies the Crown (The 100)

This was a quality episode. It’s not gonna jump on to my all time faves list, possibly because pretty much everything was spoiled beforehand (can’t wait to be past the screener eps, honestly), but it was some high calibre shit.

Warning: I am in a foul and irritable mood. If this recap is saltier than usual, I apologise. Unless you like salt, in which case - I did it especially for you!

so it’s no news that an infuriated debate is surrounding iron fist. i’m not gonna get into that here. i will, however, offer my pov on what makes it a better show than we’ve been reading in the past ten days or so. contains spoilers:

  • it’s a feel good show with a light-heartedness to it. daredevil, jessica jones and luke cage were pretty dark and socially/politically charged on a level, iron fist really isn’t asking to point you the way to anything. danny is extremely traumatized but the writing won’t allow it to weigh on your shoulders thanks to the innocence that’s also inherent to the character and often paints him as a most unlikely hero. you might feel for him (if you have a heart, i guess) but once you’ve closed your netflix tab you’ll probably just be as hopeful as he is or forget about his problems altogether. i’m not sure i’d have watched daredevil with my younger brother, but i’d surely watch this one with him.
  • danny rand’s story is one of loss, trauma and even rejection that i’m sure can resonate with many people even though they never punched a dragon. anyone danny’s age (or even not) can definitely feel like they don’t belong, and maybe i’m overreading but the fact that he can’t always control his titular fist feels like an allegory of how all of us often can’t or won’t find our own energy and strengths to get ourselves out of a bad place.
  • it’s been argued that danny lacks charisma and generally the quality of a hero. it’s true, but that’s because the narrative wants him to. he’s a boy who has no idea who he is or what he’s doing, although he might sometimes think he does. his naivete is the point of the character and while he can also be problematic those aspects of him are never celebrated. i don’t know how that’s going to evolve in other seasons/shows, but season 1 danny is no hero because he’s not supposed to be. to be quite honest, if critics didn’t get that i have no idea how to help them.
  • to offer some support to what i just said: there are scenes in which characters flat out tell danny he’s “the worst iron fist ever” and a pretty underwhelming fighter (i’m using kinder words than those that were actually uttered). he’s repeatedly called out on his shit and kept at arm’s length, his ability to be the iron fist is openly questioned and no one ever restrains from pointing out he really isn’t the sharpest pencil.
  • there are five women on the show, and they pretty much to various extent carry it by moving the plot forward. take joy: she could have been the good sister to the bad brother but she helped danny regain his place in the company because it was the right thing to do and then single-handedly kept three asses in it when they were voted out. jeri showed a more human side to her character while also being a boss ass bitch against the meachums, not to mention she took way less than half of new york combined to figure out whether danny was actually whom he claimed to be or not. now, the three women of colour then deserve a bullet point each.
  • colleen is a wonderful character. resourceful and independent, like danny she’s long been a little detached from the world (namely left in japan with her grandfather) and can feel like a fish out of water. she’s young and idealistic but also way more experienced and mature than danny, which makes them both a sweet, even touching pair and a not-so-ideal match (claire’s words, more or less). with her great fighting skills and her complexity she’s rightly considered the highlight of this show.
  • claire is too cool for me to describe so i’ll just say she keeps being wonderful and offering a refreshing, grounded point of view to the craziness that surrounds her. sweet christmas!
  • madame gao is a force of nature. she’ll just stand (or sit) there and offer serafic words of wisdom and even when put in a corner she’ll be the most powerful person in the room. her ability to mess with people’s head by simply spilling uncomfortable truth makes her frightening because really is there an enemy more dangerous than some part of us we don’t want to face? and, well, obviously she’s one hell of a criminal mastermind. i haven’t been this terrified since fisk and she barely raised an eyebrow this whole season.
  • when finn jones said this was the most diverse show in the marvel/netflix universe many might have laughed out loud, but turns out he was right. there are episodes in the back half of the season, especially towards the end, where he is pretty much the only white character around.
  • i’m very excited about davos. his position and motivations are understandable and i like that he’s not a villain born but he’s coming from a place of love and loyalty. this, along with the fact that he wanted and felt more deserving to be the iron fist, really makes for a compelling opponent. i’m not sure where this alliance with joy is going, but i can’t wait to find out.

Chapter IV - Morning Rush

At random hour, Hannah would wake up too early than normal hour she would wake up but, that has been her thing before she even gets her aviation license. Not to mention that she had a bad dream, but her body clock doesn’t really work well since she was a kid. It’s like shorter sleeping hours made her felt okay. The Adidas long sleeved training top matched with jogging pants, covered Hannah’s semi-cold body. All she wanted was peace and maybe tiring her body little bit for the night later. She got caught with her company’s phone call yesterday, letting her know that she’ll officially be on duty starting today after officially changed her home base flight and further notice will be email to her. Looks like she’ll be gone for a short 3 days flight to LAX.

6am isn’t a rush hour and it’s a good start for a runner like her who doesn’t run very often on a free time. Well, despite her stay always accommodate with indoor gym, she preferred to have a run around the public park like now. Little did she know, another soul, also running around the park on his daily routine. In and out, her breathing circulated fast and evenly within her breathing cavity. Every step of her Under Armour training shoe hit the ground, she felt a relieve lifted from her shoulder. That’s just how Hannah likes to start her day. Later on, Hannah’s pace grew slower each time she winced at the sudden cold morning breeze. It’s almost as the nature told her to slow down and take a deep breath.

She walked to a nearby tree, facing the blue lake and her tracking app on the phone beeped with a notification ‘Congratulations! You’ve recorded a new personal best of time for the running distanced you’ve had.’ Hannah locked her phone and did a mini yoga under the shady tree, to ease her breathing.

Hannah stayed for a while and traced the view of the lake in front of her. Suddenly she was fully awake from her semi-conscious mind with a voice entangled with excitement. “I didn’t expect to see you here. You run here too?” Hannah turned to her side and met the unexpected blue set of eyes, smiling and walked towards her direction. “I could say the same thing. This is my regular running tracks and good morning, Morgan.” he giggled and sat next to her. Morgan’s gaze shifted from the view in front both of them back to Hannah, "It seems like you’re a morning person or you got a flight?”

She nodded, “Yeah, both. Later in the evening and 2 days straight later.” Morgan have his train of thoughts catching and wondering if it’s a good thing or not. “Where will you go?”

“Toronto to LAX this evening. I’ll have 2 days layover since it’s a long-haul flight. It’s not a big deal actually.” She laughed at Morgan’s surprised face. “I call that a tiring job. Sorry. How do you deal with such schedule?”

“I don’t because that’s how an airline pilots work.” He softly sighed and Hannah and Morgan back their gaze to the view, tracing the magnificent blue lake that has been the main attraction of people to the park. Seconds turn into minutes and minutes turn into an hour - both Hannah and Morgan have stayed long enough until they heard voices of people 'interrupting’ their quiet morning. “I guess we should go. It’s been an hour since we sat here.” Morgan shrugged and walked next to Hannah, side by side.

“Are you up for a breakfast?”

“Is there even a morning place around here?” She gave Morgan a questioning look. From what she knew, this place that once she called home, has never have any morning places. Like the earliest hour they would open their restaurants is by 10am not 8.30am. Morgan smirked, “I know a place and it’s the best. So, breakfast?”

“I don’t mean to be rude, but I’ll be fine, making my breakfast at home.” Hannah politely decline his offer. It’s not like, she doesn’t want to but, her brain did the talking just now. “Nah, come on! Make it as a way I repay you for the amazing dinner few days ago. It’s my treat.” he wriggled his eyebrows and waited for Hannah’s response.

Hannah thought for a while, since she’s kinda lazy to make her own breakfast at her own apartment, it’s not a bad thing to have a breakfast with Morgan. She nodded and Morgan lead the way to his black Audi Q5. “You didn’t drive here?”

“It’s just a couple blocks away from my apartment, so, I walked.” Morgan drove to an outskirt, slightly away from Hannah’s normal distance for breakfast hunt that she usually has. “It should be here.” Morgan parked in front of a mint coloured restaurant that served as early as 7am - stated on the window. Although the restaurant is only filled with few numbers of customers, the smell of omelette, baked chicken and coffee already filled their nostrils once they stepped in. A waiter assisted them and hand them the menus.

“What’s good around here?” the menu offered various kind of orders and customers can order their own personal menu - if the ingredients are available in the kitchen. She blew her invisible bang before the waiter with the name 'Linda’ replied, “We have English breakfast as our top ordered and homemade Italian sausages with coffee.”

“I’ll have the Italian sausages and cheese omelette with red beans as the side dish and do you have berry smoothie?” Hannah looked at Linda while she scribbled the order. “Yes, we do. Regular or large cup? Regular is 8oz and large is double in size.” Obviously, Hannah picked the regular sized cup. “What about you, Mo?”

Hannah went slightly surprised over the name that Linda called Morgan, “I’ll have the regular but no cheese and lemon tea, please.” Linda took the menu and left them both at the booth, looking at each other back and forth to the view on their side. “Mo, huh?”

Morgan rubbed his neck sheepishly and try to avoid Hannah’s gaze, “It’s just a name that my mom and dad used to call me when I was a kid.”

“Wait, are you telling me that this is your family restaurant?” Hannah whispered and slightly surprised and unprepared for another surprise. He shook his head, “No. I’m just close with the restaurant’s owner since I always have my breakfast here since I was a teen.” she nodded and apologised for the misunderstanding. More or less, Hannah did ask about Jake, about his being. Since they both shared apartment together, wouldn’t it be weird if only Morgan is here alone? “Jake is more of a home boy. He preferred stayed inside.”

“Unless it’s a free food.” Hannah teased before Morgan burst out laughing. The waiter came to their table few minutes later with their ordered foods and drink. “Bon Appetit.” she grinned and they both dug into their food. The portion of one plate is a lot and Hannah quite surprised herself that she could finished it all in one go, same as Morgan. Well, she couldn’t blame Morgan since men normally has a higher metabolism than women. After all, this is better than flight food. She doesn’t have to worry about flight foods anymore since domestic flights doesn’t take too long of time.

    “That was good!”

“I know right! We should have breakfast here together if you’re free and no morning flights, of course.” he smiled. Hannah nodded and she definitely will come here soon. Morgan later dropped Hannah at her apartment complex. She halted before stepped out of the car when Morgan called her.

“Are you free? like when you get back home after 3 days?” he asked, with a hint of shyness in his voice. Hannah looked at him, “I think so, why?”

“Do you by any chance wanna go out with me? Whenever you’re free …” Hannah restate his words of 'go out’. He awkwardly laughed before he replaced the word with date.

“I’m sorry if it’s too early. Just forget what I just said.”

“No. I’m just … thinking about the date that I’ll be coming home from. Yes, Morgan, I’d like to go on a date with you.” She smiled leaned for a small peck on his cheek before stepped out from his black Audi.

“I’ll call you once my flight schedule is cleared.”

With then, Hannah rode the elevator upstairs to her apartment level. She smiled contently, knowing that her 'first’ move texting him in the first place did something great in her life. Maybe, it’s the right time to have a companion in her life, despite all the dilemmas she’s having right now.

Morgan, you’ve won the first level.

Hannah, welcome to the reality and beginning of real relationship.

———-

So recently I promised that I would share my new brocdes “headcanon” with you all, so here it goes. I will try to express myself as best as I can but I won’t promise anything because I kinda have lots of feelings about this.

So this new headcanon/theory thing came after I closely analyzed Nico’s and Lewis’ behaviour this year. But before I start, I think it is for the best that I share what had been my originial theory about these two up until now.

First of all, looking back at the rivalry of these two, I always assumed Lewis was the one who was kind of an asshole towards Nico and that’s why they drifted apart. I thought this not because I think Lewis is an asshole or anyting but because let’s be honest he is the one who can be the more dramatic, and the one who is more likely to make a hurtful comment or the one dissing the other. It is just the way Lewis is. Nico is always, ALWAYS diplomatic or at least he tries to be, he tries to keep this composed, calm and collected facade up. That has always been his coping mechanism. So all this led me to believe that Lewis was at fault mostly. And let’s be honest I always had a soft spot for Nico so who knows I might have even been a little bit biased and automatically didn’t blame him. Anyway, on to the next point. After analyzing their personalities even more deeply, I think Lewis’ behaviour is immensly misunderstood in this fandom most of the time. And it makes me sad because Lewis is often treated like this arrogant asshole who always makes rude comments about other drivers. However, Lewis is more complex than that. I’m not saying his statements and comments about Nico are not hurtful because they are. But life and people are not black and white I’m afraid.

Let’s go back to the time after Nico’s retirement. Nico said that he and Lewis didn’t get on after a while because they obviously wanted to be treated equally in the team. He said that as long as one of them didn’t accept to be the number two then they couldn’t maintan a friendship. Now obviously the one who was always forced into being the second best in the team was Nico. Nico obviously didn’t want to accept second place and honestly why would have he? Now, I’ve always assumed that Lewis, already having championship titles, didn’t take this behaviour from Nico smoothly and I can’t blame him either. He rightly thought that he is the better driver (proven by his titles) and of course there was his competitiveness which naturally every driver has. So when I looked at these facts I believed that Lewis was the one who pushed Nico away and treated him like shit because of his own massive ego. Now, from Nico’s point of view. He must have been furious many times regarding Lewis’s behaviour with the team orders and of course Mercedes (even tho they always said otherwise) kind of wanted Nico to be the second driver. And Nico due to being diplomatic and composed about his feelings in tense situations could easily give people the impression that even tho he wasn’t happy about the drama and the tense rivalry with Lewis and his comments he still seemed to accept it somehow and learnt to roll with it. What I didn’t take into consideration is how hurt Nico must have been all the time. He must have felt like shit being treated like that and honestly just beacause he didn’t show his feelings to the cameras he might have been absouletly cold towards Lewis. Just look at how Nico reacts here (x) to a question about being friends and rivals with Lewis at the same time  and how Lewis  was just trying to make Nico laugh about it almost as if he already knew that Nico didn’t like the situation. So what I’m trying to say is that Nico mght have been the one who started to drift apart from Lewis because he was hurt and couldn’t bare being treated in such way in the team.

(I hope you can still follow me because I haven’t even started the main theory yet :D)

So now comes a little psychology lesson even tho I’m no expert. Nico has always been very consistent with what he said about his and Lewis’ relationship during his time in the team. If you look at press conferences, post race/quali interviews he used to say the same thing all over again, sharing very little with the media, rambling about the ‘base respect towards each other” etc… Right after his retirement however, he immediately started to open up. He emphasized many times how he wanted to make things right with Lewis because he was not in the team anymore so it should be easy right? At first I was like, sure that’s the right thing to do. As this year’s season went on, Nico somehow always talked about Lewis on twitter or in interviews. Bordering on being a little too pushy in my opinion. Now I get it that he is still connected to Mercedes as he is the ambassador of the team and I guess he still has to suppport them and that means not talking shit about Lewis. But I always thought that he could have tone it down a lil bit if he wanted to but he seemed honest and genuinely happy for Lewis’ succes and race wins this year. So we saw Nico’s behaviour and after this gifset (x) where Lewis didn’t even look at Nico’s direction even tho he touched his arm, and this post (x) where they have shown a picture of Lewis and Nico to Lewis and he simply didn’t want to do anything with it, he didn’t even want to say a word about it, almost like wanting to forget that he and Nico have ever been friends. Now these passive vibes coming from Lewis almost immediately, being hugely in contrast to Nico’s kind and open approach towards Lewis, had been criticized by many in this fandom, saying how petty Lewis behaves and how he “can’t let go of his rivalry with Nico”. But in my view, that is not how people work. Lewis had many rivals in the past before Nico, I don’t think I have to specify these drivers. Nonetheless he still moved on and still can be civil with those drivers. Which leads us to the conclusion that NO Lewis is not childish and not petty and not miserable. He is hurt. Which leads us to another conclusion which is that Nico might have been the one who was at fault in their relationship turning for the worse. Furthermore to support this idea, Nico can be easily open (like I’ve mentioned a few lines above) and forgiving towards Lewis because of this exact reason that he was the one who started it all. Rightly so he is the one who should initiate the making up. Speaking from experience, my mum when she argues with somebody, tends to forget it really quickly and she always thinks that after like 5 minutes everything is forgotten without her ever apologizing. If you read what Lewis has said recently here (x) you might start to see my point. Lewis basically said that he loved Nico and so he tolerated everything but he realized that it was unhealthy for him and so he distanced himslef from Nico. I find this really tragic. I know how hard it can be to do this, when you love someone but you know that your relationship with that person is not good for your mental well-being so you move on.

I think if Lewis was such a pathetic and petty driver who cannot move on from old arguments then he would be like this with everyone. However, Nico is the only person who Lewis “treats” this way and that’s why I’m basically writing this post because it made me think about how hurt Lewis must be from the fight with Nico. And that is because Lewis is not hurt by the championship title taken away from him last year or the previous years’ dramas. He is hurt because it was NICO who (might have) hurt him. And let’s just consider the fact that they have known each other since they were kids. SINCE THEY WERE KIDS. Like, can you imagine what that feels like?

I am not saying that Nico is the one who is the asshole here. I love both of them with all my heart. I’m just saying that recently their behaviour has put things into different perspective for me. And I also think that Lewis might be waiting for Nico to truly discuss things and he doesn’t make do with twitter mentions and what not. Or he might be so hurt that he doesn’t want to do anyting with Nico for now. Who knows.

So this is it. I feel like I just poured everything that I think into this post and I’m not sure if this is comprehensible so let me know what you think or if you need me to explain some parts then write me and I’ll try my best :)

Episode Review: "Stuart!" [S03E02]

The third season is well underway, and things are moving along at their usual breakneck (and deadly) pace. Are we recovered enough to talk about this episode yet?

Y: Oh boy, I think I was still riding the premiere high when this second episode came along and it just came and knocked me down. I laughed, I sighed, I was at the edge of my seat and then I sobbed into my pillow for an hour. I guess this is now my typical Friday night now that Blindspot has taken over.

L: So Martin Gero said that this season would have a lighter feel to it. Apparently what he meant was: There will be more humor before we rip your guts out. Because I laughed, I cried, and I ate entirely too much chocolate this week. Hats off to the writers, actors, and everyone who brought us another great episode!

Rose was panicking. That was the only way to put it. She had forgotten to pick up a gift for the Secret Santa exchange at work and the deadline was tomorrow. The info sheet she’d received had mostly mentioned books and tea and a love of traveling. She wasn’t about to buy tea for someone who she didn’t know and couldn’t ask about their tea habits so that really left her with books.

At least the person had put down a couple of genres that they liked, and if she absolutely couldn’t find anything fitting, there was always the gift card route. That screamed last minute though, and Rose would rather her recipient not know that she forgot about them.

She nipped into the first bookshop she found. Idris Books was a cozy place, full of soft golden light and a maze of shelves with seating scattered throughout. It was the kind of place Rose would like to spend an entire afternoon in, forgetting that the world outside existed, but today was not that day.

It took her a few minutes to find the sci-fi section in the bookstore but once she finally stood in front of the shop’s collection, she was completely lost. Sci-fi had been first on her recipients list of book genres but it wasn’t one that she usually read.

Rose had no idea where to start. She stared at the shelf, eyes glancing over the myriad titles as she worried at her bottom lip. A noise to her left startled her and she turned to find a man reshelving some books on the next bookcase over.

“Excuse me, could you help me?” Rose asked.
