she is going to owe her father big for this one

What if, when Petunia Dursley found a little boy on her front doorstep, she took him in? Not into the cupboard under the stairs, not into a twisted childhood of tarnished worth and neglect–what if she took him in?

Petunia was jealous, selfish and vicious. We will not pretend she wasn’t. She looked at that boy on her doorstep and thought about her Dudders, barely a month older than this boy. She looked at his eyes and her stomach turned over and over. (Severus Snape saved Harry’s life for his eyes. Let’s have Petunia save it despite them).

Let’s tell a story where Petunia Dursley found a baby boy on her doorstep and hated his eyes–she hated them. She took him in and fed him and changed him and got him his shots, and she hated his eyes up until the day she looked at the boy and saw her nephew, not her sister’s shadow. When Harry was two and Vernon Dursley bought Dudley a toy car and Harry a fast food meal with a toy with parts he could choke on Petunia packed her things and got a divorce.

Harry grew up small and skinny, with knobbly knees and the unruly hair he got from his father. He got cornered behind the dumpsters and in the restrooms, got blood on the jumpers Petunia had found, half-price, at the hand-me-down store. He was still chosen last for sports. But Dudley got blood on his sweaters, too, the ones Petunia had found at the hand-me-down store, half price, because that was all a single mother working two secretary jobs could afford for her two boys, even with Vernon’s grudging child support.

They beat Harry for being small and they laughed at Dudley for being big, and slow, and dumb. Students jeered at him and teachers called Dudley out in class, smirked over his backwards letters.

Harry helped him with his homework, snapped out razored wit in classrooms when bullies decided to make Dudley the butt of anything; Harry cornered Dudley in their tiny cramped kitchen and called him smart, and clever, and ‘better ‘n all those jerks anyway’ on the days Dudley believed it least.

Dudley walked Harry to school and back, to his advanced classes and past the dumpsters, and grinned, big and slow and not dumb at all, at anyone who tried to mess with them.

But was that how Petunia got the news? Her husband complained about owls and staring cats all day long and in the morning Petunia found a little tyke on her doorsep. This was how the wizarding world chose to give the awful news to Lily Potter’s big sister: a letter, tucked in beside a baby boy with her sister’s eyes.

There were no Potters left. Petunia was the one who had to arrange the funeral. She had them both buried in Godric’s Hollow. Lily had chosen her world and Petunia wouldn’t steal her from it, not even in death. The wizarding world had gotten her sister killed; they could stand in that cold little wizard town and mourn by the old stone.

(Petunia would curl up with a big mug of hot tea and a little bit of vodka, when her boys were safely asleep, and toast her sister’s vanished ghost. Her nephew called her ‘Tune’ not 'Tuney,’ and it only broke her heart some days.

Before Harry was even three, she would look at his green eyes tracking a flight of geese or blinking mischieviously back at her and she would not think 'you have your mother’s eyes.’

A wise old man had left a little boy on her doorstep with her sister’s eyes. Petunia raised a young man who had eyes of his very own).

Petunia snapped and burnt the eggs at breakfast. She worked too hard and knew all the neighbors’ worst secrets. Her bedtime stories didn’t quite teach the morals growing boys ought to learn: be suspicious, be wary; someone is probably out to get you. You owe no one your kindness. Knowledge is power and let no one know you have it. If you get can get away with it, then the rule is probably meant for breaking.

Harry grew up loved. Petunia still ran when the letters came. This was her nephew, and this world, this letter, these eyes, had killed her sister. When Hagrid came and knocked down the door of some poor roadside motel, Petunia stood in front of both her boys, shaking. When Hagrid offered Harry a squashed birthday cake with big, kind, clumsy hands, he reminded Harry more than anything of his cousin.

His aunt was still shaking but Harry, eleven years and eight minutes old, decided that any world that had people like his big cousin in it couldn’t be all bad. “I want to go,” Harry told his aunt and he promised to come home.

FACTS ABOUT CONNOR MURPHY (spoilers)

So I have decided to post all the facts and hints about Connor Murphy’s past that are shown in the musical. It’s hard to make out considering people in the fandom usually focus on the lies Evan tells to figure out Connor’s personality.

To get this conclusion (which I will post in a second) I literally skipped all scenes concerning Evan’s lies and went directly to the Murphy family and what they say. None of these facts/hints involve what Evan said about Connor.

First of all, I’ll say now that I have put my own interpretation on each of these facts.

And so, I will put all FACTS in BOLD.
Anything out of bold is my own interpretation and how I see it to be. It’s up to you to agree with me or disagree.

First, I will post my conclusions on each family member, and then afterwards, I will post the reasons for each one.

Zoe

Zoe was an emotional and verbal abuse victim. There is no evidence of physical abuse, although there were threats that could have potentially led to that. She has all the right to not grieve over Connor, in all honesty, she could have sent him to the police for what he did, but as an abuse victim, that is very hard to do. Connor was probably the cause of most of her insecurities and she hated him for that. The unhealthy habit of taking out his anger on the nearest person to him probably made him lash out at his sister whenever he had a panic attack. Judging by how he really did care enough to keep the creepy letter about his sister, written by Evan, in his pocket for 3 days before he committed suicide, it’s safe to say that he really regretted being mean to his sister and actually cared about her.

Connor’s mom, Cynthia

Connor’s mom was a woman obsessed with reputation. She’s known as the rich man’s wife, and wants more than anything to be a regular family. But because her son had mental illnesses, her perfect image was ruined. She acted as though she was there for him but when it came down to it, she did nothing. She pushed for therapy but after a while, her husband took him out of it because “it wasn’t worth the money,” and she basically went, “welp, I tried.” I will quote what I say later: Connor’s mom might not actually be sad that her son is gone, but rather, she’s ashamed that her family actually doesn’t care. It seems like Connor’s mom is filled with regret for not being there for her son, and she’s forcing her family to act like they regretted it too, because that’s what a real family should have been like. But this is only a personal theory.

Connor’s dad, Larry

Connor’s dad might be one of the main sources of his depression. It is very obvious to me that Connor’s dad believed him to be a disappointment. He didn’t grieve for his dead son and only played along to make his wife happy. He’s annoyed by the whole situation. It even seemed like he hated the fact that there was fake remnants of his son in Evan. Almost like he wished Connor wasn’t friends with Evan so he could just forget all about him and not need to deal with it. At some point he was a kind father. When they went to the orchard together for picnics, it seems like they were a happy family. Connor’s dad had played with their toy plane together and had some great memories. The whole family practically forgot about this, though. Connor’s dad didn’t cry at his own dead son’s funeral. I think that sums it up.

Connor Murphy

Connor was a complicated person. He had many different mental illnesses. I could research which ones he probably had, but there’s probably already a post somewhere on it already. One thing for sure, is that he was unstable. He might not have been like that his whole life, but at the time of knowing him, the time he was briefly alive in the show, he was incredibly unstable. Everything and anything could set him off, and he probably hated that about himself as well. Pushing away everyone near him that could possibly help and hating himself for doing so, spiraling himself into a closed minded world of self-hate and regret, which is something that many people can relate to, including me. He did a lot of horrible things to his sister and to his family. I don’t blame his family for not actually grieving him, he was a really bad person. The problem is, he could have been a good person as well. He had all the potential to get better. He talked to Evan, probably wishing to say sorry about pushing him earlier in the hall. He was trying, he wanted to try. He wanted to get better. He just gave up too soon.

This post is very long! I’m sorry. If you’d like to read more, I’m putting the reasons I’ve come to these conclusions under the cut.

Remember, ALL FACTS ARE IN BOLD. Anything else is my personal interpretation.

it’s funny, so i just saw logan last night (which is both Very Funny and Very Not, but that’s a different story)

so you meet dear little laura, and you’re hanging out with her on this father-daughter bonding transamerican roadtrip, right? and she’s making shrieking noises and beheading people and stealing shit from convenience stores, and you’re like okay– secret weapons project, bioengineering, brainwashing, this makes sense. i see how you got here, you precious and wonderful child of death who i wish such good things for. it all makes sense.

but then you meet her cohort of other secret weapons children– and wait. these children are not like laura. these kids got some trauma and some superpowers, but are otherwise a lot more like “hi i’m johnny.” laura is a special murder snowflake.

in the ~final confrontation~ all laura’s buddies are, when cornered, taking down individual soldiers with faces that say “i am a scared but competent preteen and/or teen.” all of them team up to slowly and almost meditatively kill That One Douchebag, and it’s all very Big Deal, this is a Moment

and then you have laura, backflipping off her dad’s back while issuing an enraged nonverbal shriek of full-bodied fury and sticking her landing with her claws knuckle-deep in a baddie’s chest

what was she like in the lab? i mean, this kid clearly has a Protective Streak and also, you may have noticed, giant claws that spring from her tiny clenched fists, like, i bet this was a thing

i can just imagine the kids being like “laura’s late to the rendezvous, should we be worried?”

“she probably just got distracted by MURDER again, you know how it is, remember easter 2023?”

“oh damn it i miss that girl.”

“my favorite sister.”

“i thought i was your favorite sister.”

“only when i need my drink iced– ow– hey!– i’ll tell laura!”

“go ahead! she’ll side with me!”

tl;dr all tiny bilingual mutant found-families need a shrieking murder child

For You

Thank you @viviena for this amazing animation!!! It is perfect :))                   In celebration of such amazing work, I present a fic

Stiles was a very easily distracted five year old. Example A - he had managed to wander off seventeen times in the past hour, constantly caught up in his need to more closely examine every flower or bug that caught his fancy.

He had been taken on the hike to expend some energy, to relieve the restlessness that seemed ingrained into the kid’s bones. It was a common occurrence for Sheriff Stilinski to have to revert back to countless websites that he had bookmarked to look for a new babysitter willing to look after his little bundle of spaz.

It had been almost fate, meeting the Hales. A simple accident, one that the families had long since moved past seeing as a negative. The sheriff and Stiles had gone to the grocery store, his dad looking worn out and tired, staying up too late looking for a new sitter. It seemed like if a person hadn’t already babysat Stiles, they had heard rumors about the boy and his difficult to handle nature. So, for now, the sheriff took the boy everywhere, cashing in favours the receptionists at the precinct owed him when he was called out on duty. But even their patience was growing thin.

It was in the grocery store after John Stilinski and Talia Hale had exchanged pleasant smiles that all hell broke loose. Or well, Stiles broke loose. He had managed to climb out of the back of the cart and wandered the aisle before running head first into a pair of legs. A boy of about nine or ten years looked down at the stumbling mess of a kid by his knees. The boy looked up, saw the man talking pleasantly with his mother and smelled the familial scents.

Delta (Bucky Barnes x Reader) Pt. 6 ❤️

A/N: Omg you guys are gonna hate me! *cries hysterically* This was so hard to write because of major feels, but i promise it’ll get better! Borky is a good dude ok and he will make it all better lol. I hope y’all like it! Enjoy! - Delilah  ❤️

Warnings: Swearing. Angst. Major feels.

You stared down at the little white hospital gown that you wore, all while wondering how on earth you could be so stupid.

They kept telling you that it wasn’t your fault. That the blame should be placed on Bucky for being irresponsible, but you were having none of that. It takes two to tango. You agreed to lay with him, so now you both were responsible for what came after.

You could feel the tears pooling in your eyes. You were nowhere near ready for the consequences. The only thing you knew about motherhood was that it took extreme patience and unconditional love. You were capable of those things, but not at this moment.

“I remember being exactly where you are.” The doctor spoke softly, her hand landing on yours and giving it a comforting squeeze.

You peered up at the woman. She looked only a little older than you, around her early thirties. Your eyes traveled to the small name tag on her coat. Elisa was her name.

“I was barely twenty when I found out I was carrying my baby boy.” She said as she prepared to draw your blood.

“Were you afraid?” You ask, peering up at her. She gave you a small smile. Her brown eyes instantly filled you with comfort.

“I was terrified! We were terrified. My boyfriend at the time, he wasn’t really one for kids.” Immediately you realized where she was getting at.

“Did he stay?” You could see her smile fade as she retracted the needle from your vein and placed a small little band aid over it. You mentally scold yourself. That was way out of line.

“He stops by every now and then,” she replied. “Mr. Quill was known for being a ladies man and all, but when Jake was born he…sort of boarded the reality train.”

You nodded, but your mind was elsewhere.

Bucky was a good man from what you’ve heard from Steve. From what you experienced in your room a few hours ago, he was completely different than all the other alphas. He made sure you were taken care of before anything else.

He even did the thing.

You still blushed when you thought about it!

He put all his pride to the side and denied his nature by pleasuring you orally. Alphas were NOT supposed to do that by any means and he knew that. But at the time, giving you relief was more than important to him and you’d be lying if you said you weren’t interested in him.

He was what people liked to call “bonding material”. For once, you could agree on that.

Bucky Barnes was very attractive. He was built like a Greek god and could um…mate like one, too. He was strong, not only physically, but emotionally as well -this was a big deal for lower ranking people such as yourself. The way he held you and praised you during sex literally brought tears of joy to your eyes and you were so overwhelmed at first.

But what was most important was that your instincts were completely in sync with his.

It was almost as if he knew exactly what you were thinking when you had sex. He read you so well, that you felt you didn’t have to hide yourself any longer and that filled you with relief at the time. You weren’t shy like usual, but confident.

Maybe…Bucky could be an excellent father as well.

You’ve never seen him interact with children. You couldn’t have asked him earlier because his face was between your thighs for a solid thirty minutes and the rest of the time, he screwed your beyond comprehension. So, you’d have to ask Steve at some point.

When Elisa finished tidying up her station, she paused. Her eyes traveled over to you, a knowing smile on her face.

“You know, Y/N,” she spoke, taking a seat next to you. You kept your gaze on your lap. “I’ve seen a lot of cases throughout my career. And I’ve seen a lot of couples. I can usually spot the ones who aren’t exactly maternal. But you, I can see it. If you are pregnant, you’re going to be an amazing mother.”

Your eyes widened with surprise. Overwhelmed with emotion, you felt the tears fall. You wiped them away with your hand quickly. You felt the warmness of Elisa’s hand on your shoulder.

“What I’m trying to say is, out of all the dad-to-be’s I’ve seen, I’ve never seen a more capable one then Barnes.”

Now that took you by surprise, but also comforted you to no end. Bucky had it in him, maybe, but did you?

Pepper’s screams could be heard by the entire team as she chased Bucky through her office.

“I can explain, just please calm do-OW! Did you just staple me!?”

The sounds of chairs being thrown against the walls followed suit, along with Bucky’s screams of terror. He didn’t even get three words in before she started throwing any and every inanimate object at him, including her cell phone, purse, keys and high heels (which hit Bucky directly in the face).

There was absolutely no way in hell he’d get her to listen to him. At least without getting a couple security guards in here. And to make it worse, Steve flat out refused to intervene.

But as bad as Pepper was, Tony was really who he should be concerned about. The man was on a mission at the moment and would be returning later on that night. Meaning, he’d be:

  1. Exhausted
  2. Experiencing coffee withdraws
  3. Dirty
  4. Suited up

All a giant recipe for homicidal tendencies, which Bucky really wanted to steer clear of. Tony was going to kill him. That or take Y/N far, far away from him.

“I trusted you!” Pepper shrieked as she launched a tape dispenser at him, only for him to catch it mid air and put it on the table in front of him. She had such good aim, too.

“It wasn’t intentional by any means!” Bucky exclaimed. He immediately circled around the desk between the two of them as Pepper tried to catch him. Jesus, how did Tony put up with this? Betas were insane.

Feeling the fatigue at full force, Pepper let out a sigh of defeat and plopped into her chair. Her blue eyes were tired, dark circles were beginning to form under her eyes.

Bucky felt so guilty.

“Have you talked to her?” She asked, her voice low.

“Not yet.” He replied, taking a seat in one of the chairs across from her. The only one still in one piece. She glared over at him, her eyebrow twitching in annoyance. “But I plan to.”

“Well you better swallow that guilt and deal with it, Barnes,” she dropped her gaze to her lap and swallowed loudly. “Because she’s your biggest priority now.”

It wasn’t what she said that bothered him, it was the context. She didn’t insinuate the possible life growing inside you or anything, only that you as a person were his responsibility. Did she know about the bonding?

Speaking of that, Bucky couldn’t feel it.

By it, he meant you. When two people bond, it’s an extremely emotional experience. One that he’d never really felt before. You gave him a bond mark, but he didn’t return it. Meaning, they hadn’t technically bonded fully.

But if you were pregnant, he’d like to. Only with your permission of course.

With a sigh, Bucky rested his head in his hands.

What was he going to do with you?

The results wouldn’t be ready for a few more minutes, leaving you to wait in solitude. That meant you were to wait in the shiny white room without any company, which you desperately needed right now.

As much as you were used to being alone, you hated the silence. Your thoughts ran throughout your head rapidly, making up the most inane scenarios. You really, really wanted to talk to Pepper right now. She always knew what to do in these situations. Or better, you wished you could just completely rewind these last two days and be in the comfort of your lab, working on your latest tech.

“Y/N?”

You nearly jumped out of your seat at Bucky’s voice. When did he even get there? Those damn super soldiers.

“When did you even get here? You scared me!” You placed a hand on your stomach as you spoke. You hated being scared. His eyes instantly traveled to your tummy, eyeing it warily. You instantly pulled your hand away.

“Are you…” he trailed off. He looked so calm.

“W-Well the tests haven’t come back yet!” You assured him. The way he was staring at you made your cheeks fill with red.

Bucky nodded, giving you a small reassuring smile. He made his way over to you and sat on the seat beside yours. You hadn’t been this close since you were in heat and now, you could feel the faint arousal between your legs. Jesus! You were about to find out if you were with child, why did your body have react this way?

“Listen Bucky, you don’t have to stay. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself-”

“Y/N,” he interrupted, his eyes looked even bluer now that you weren’t drunk with your heat. Man, he was gorgeous. “I’m not leaving you. Especially not in this circumstance.”

“But-”

“I know we literally just met a couple days ago,” he chuckled softly. You desperately wanted to hear it again. “But I’m just as responsible as you are. We’ll take care of this together, okay?”

Without thinking, your hand found its way onto his cheek. He leaned into your touch. You could feel the anxiety and the worry fade away. For the first time in your life, you felt secure.

The sound of someone clearing their throat caused the two of you to jump and separate. You smiled at Elisa, who eyed the two of you knowingly. Her gaze traveled to your stomach briefly before looking away.

She gave you both a warm smile, but you could sense something behind it. What was going on?

“Congratulations, you two.” she handed you the test. Immediately Bucky snatched the results from you and his eyes scanned the paper. You looked at his eyes, only see them widen. What was wrong?

You looked back at Elisa, who avoided your eyes at all costs. “What’s wrong?” You asked, feeling your heart race.

Bucky dropped the paper, his eyes staring down at the floor. Now you were extremely worried.

“Y/N,” she said softly. “I’m so sorry.”

You snatched the paper from the ground and held it up to your face. In fine print, you saw the following words:

‘Delta Sterilization surgery, as ordered by Mr. Y/L/N.”

“What the fuck is this?” You cried. The only person who could’ve done this was…no, he wouldn’t do that to you. He wasn’t that kind of man.

“I’m afraid before your father passed away,“ she explained. "He arrainged for all of your pregnancies to be terminated and for your immediate sterilization if you were to become impregnanted by any circumstances.”

-Fin! ❤

“What are we going to do?” Your mother whisper quietly to her husband. Her disappointment in your father was clear, as her face framed her emotions, all of them ranging from anger and frustration to anxiety and worry.

“I don’t know, but I’m so sorry.” Your dad said, remorse filling his voice. “I’m sorry. I’ve should’ve found a better way. I could’ve-”

“Are they coming?” Your mother cut him off, igniting a new problem in their minds.

“I don’t know. They didn’t say they would.” Your father said. As if on cue, the doorbell chimed through the house. Little three-year-old you smiled and ran towards the door.

“Mommy, Mommy someone’s here!” You giggled joyfully. As you stood in front of the door waiting for someone to open it. Your mother picked you up and carried you away from the front door.

“Sweetheart, (Y/N), go play in your room please.” You looked at your mother with wide eyes and nodded your head. She carefully set you down and you headed towards your room. Your mother watched as you climbed the steps and went to your room. The sound of the doorbell broke her trance. She looked at the door with panic and fear as she turned the knob. She plastered a smile on her face as the door swung open.

"I'm gonna kill him" -- Pt 1

Imagine – You are forced into an arranged marriage

“We need this Y/N. Our family needs it”. My mother spoke, standing in front of me at her desk with my father. They wanted me to marry this wealthy Shadowhunter that came from a well known family tree.
“And what happens to what I want?”. I said, not lifting my head to look at them.
“Oh don’t be so selfish! We have given you wonderful opportunities and have gotten you so far in this institute, you owe this to us”. My mother snapped. My father blinked nervously until he spoke, “Anyway it’s done. He’s coming to the institute tomorrow where you will be married immediately. Everything will be set up, you just have to show up, do you think you could do that?”, he was so patronising.
I glared at them but there was nothing I could do. I had to do this for my family, “Just tell me the time and I’ll be there”.

I walked out of their office to be greeted by Izzy and Clary walking down the corridor, “Hey, what was that emergency meeting all about?”, Izzy asked whilst both of them linked each of my arms. I was training with her when I got ushered to my parents.
“Oh just stupid family drama, wanna go into town for drinks?”, I asked the both of them needing one last night out with my girls before my freedom would be taken away.
“Of course, give us half an hour and we’ll be ready!”. They both ran off to get all dolled up whilst I just went back to my room.

I sat on my bed and just went over what my parents had said to me, ‘Don’t be so selfish’. I’ve been everything but selfish. I have always put everyone before myself. A knock snapped me out of my thoughts. I got up to answer it, “Izzy I thought you said half an-”. I opened the door to Alec. “Sorry I thought you might have been Izzy and Clary”. I held the door open and motioned for him to come in.
“So what can I help you with?”. Me and Alec had been close for a while, we had a flirty relationship, it was playful, we knew we both liked each other.
“Erm…this sounds stupid but I was wondering if you wanted to go out tonight…for dinner…just me and you?”. I was so happy, the big grin on my face supported this.
“Alec I would-“, then I remembered. “but I can’t”, I didn’t want to tell anyone of the marriage yet. “I’m going out with Clary and Izzy tonight around town”. I saw the disappointment on his face which broke me.
“But you can come too, you can bring Jace and Simon as well if you want”. His famous smirk was now visible, obviously pleased with the invitation.
“Sounds great, I’ll go get the others”. He left, grazing my arm with his hand as he walked past. I walked over to my wardrobe looking at the options for me to wear. I wasn’t in a mood to make an effort so black jeans and a T it was.

I lay down and waited for someone to come and get me. The next thing I knew I opened my eyes to Jace leaning over me at my bedside.
“Finally! I’ve been shouting you for like 10 minutes!”. I sat up and let my eyes adjust.
“I’m sorry I must have dozed off”.
Jace looked at me worriedly, “What is wrong with you lately?”.
“I’m just exhausted, and stressed with all the mission reports I’m so behind on. The clave is on my back a lot these past few weeks”.
“Well we don’t have to go out tonight we can always-“.
I cut him off, “NO no….I need this”. He nodded with a look of concern and put an arm around me as we walked to go and meet the others.

We arrived at the club. I walked in with Clary and Izzy by my side whilst the other guys followed us in as we had more experience with mundane clubs.

Three hours, 7 shots, 4 vodka & cokes and a bottle of Malibu later….lets just say I was a little more than tipsy. We were all sat in a booth on the far side of the club right next to the dance floor. Jace and Clary were in the middle of a make out session whilst Simon was watching star wars on his phone as Izzy had passed out with her legs across Simon and her head on my lap. Me and Alec were talking…well, he was talking, I was slurring, although I could feel the room gradually starting to spin slower. Then all of a sudden Alec kissed me. It was long, passionate and so overdue. The second we pulled apart my lips did something before my brain could think about it.
“I’m getting married tomorrow”. My eyes were still closed from the kiss and they stayed closed for a few more seconds as I was scared to see what his reaction would be. All of a sudden I felt completely sober. I opened my eyes and regretted it immediately. He looked heartbroken, confused, vulnerable and angry. All those emotions were showing on one face and I was the reason why. Before I could say anything else he was gone, running out of the club faster than I’ve ever seen someone move.
“ALEC-“, I called out but the music was too loud and he was too far away, he wouldn’t have even come back even if he did hear me. Jace must have heard me though as he broke apart from Clary and chased after Alec. I looked down at my lap, tears fell from my face and onto Izzy but she was dead to the world to notice. When I looked up I saw Clary and Simon look at me with an expression that said ‘you have some explaining to do’.

I woke up in Clary’s room. She didn’t want to be on my own because of the state I was in last night, drunk and hysterical. After Simon took Izzy back to his I cried to Clary trying to get everything out whilst I still could. She was so supportive and was furious with what I was forced into but she understood that I felt like I had to do it, not for me but for my family. Jace had text Clary late last night to tell her he was back at the institute with Alec. They had just walked around the streets he said in the text and just talked. Alec had told Jace about the marriage, Clary explained it to Jace over the phone in which he told Alec but Jace was still pissed with me and Alec was still harbouring the same feelings from last night.
“They’ll both understand soon enough”. Clary must have noticed me staring into space and she must have knew that I was worrying about it all. I nodded.
“What time is it?”.
She checked her phone, “9:30 AM”.
I jumped up out of the bed and raced to the door, “I was meant to be in the chapel half an hour ago!”.

I ran into the chapel to find my mother pacing and my father talking to the silent brother who would be initiating the wedding.
“I’m sorry, I was out late and I lost track of time this morning”.
My mother walked towards me, “Enough with your excuses!”. I felt the tears build up behind my eyes threatening to run down my cheeks but I fought them back. She dragged me to the front of the room where I was met by my father and the silent brother. As I stood not listening to a word they were saying the door swung open. I clenched my jaw in anticipation for my future partner to walk in but to my relief it was Clary, Simon and Izzy. I hadn’t asked them to come and I didn’t want them to but right now I knew I really needed them. A tear escaped as I smiled at them. They sat at the very back not wanting to disturb any family business. Since what felt like forever I finally felt relaxed knowing that whatever happened today I had people who truly loved me just a couple of footsteps away. Then the door opened again and suddenly my anxiety went from 0 to 100 real fast. In he walked, the person I presumed I was getting married off to. The closer he came the more I realised he wasn’t the worst looking, I mean he was kinda cute; dark hair, tall, skinny yet muscle-y…I was literally describing Alec. Did this mean I had a type? No one could compare to how I felt about Alec. He was the one I truly wanted to be with, but my feelings didn’t matter.

The vows had been said, the runes had been drawn and the rings had been given. The wedding was over. Everyone dispersed until there was just me at the front of the room. Still stood in the place I had been stood throughout. My freedom had been taken…my future had been written. As I watched my family leave I let my guard down and all tears rushed out. Clary, Simon and Izzy raced to me. I didn’t know what to do anymore or what would happen to me now. For the first time in my life I felt lost and had no idea what I was going to do.

After the wedding I had gone straight to my room. The others wanted me to hang out with them so I could take my mind off of things for a few hours but I just wanted to be alone. I jumped straight in the shower and just stood there for what felt like hours under the hot water. I eventually got out and started to get changed when I heard noises coming from outside the bathroom door. I walked out, expecting to see Izzy gathering clothes so I could come and escape to Simon’s place with them but it wasn’t. It was my hubby…William I think his name was. I payed no attention throughout the ceremony so I avoided saying his name during the vows.
“What are you doing?”. I asked as he was putting everything from my room into boxes.
He looked back at me with what I can only describe as disgust on his face. “You are to be moved into my room on the East wing, if we want to make this believable”. The minute he turned back around anger rushed through me. How dare he come in here. How dare he take my things and look at me like that. I walked over to him and started unpacking all of my stuff.
“I’m not moving anywhere, my things are staying in this room and so am I”. I didn’t look at him. It felt good, it felt like I was getting control back over my life. This feeling stopped when he spun me around and slapped me across the face. His force was so strong that it knocked me to the ground. He grabbed the remaining boxes and left the room. I just lay there. Shocked at what had just happened.

I eventually composed myself and headed towards William’s wing, as I didn’t want to find out what would happen if I stayed in my room, when I bumped into Clary. She gasped and touched the side of my face, “Oh my god what did you do?”. I know she didn’t mean to say it the way I took it and she had no idea what had happened but all I heard coming from her voice was her saying it was my fault. Maybe it was my fault.
“Oh I was just stupid and hit my head on my bedside table from my nap before”. I didn’t want people to know and start gossiping. The wedding had already made me the topic of conversation on every mission so this would just make things worse. She just laughed, “What are you like!”. Then she left. I was just stood in an empty corridor.

•5 DAYS PASSED•

I gently pulled on an oversized jumper, for the purpose of no one seeing my bruises, and my sweatpants. I hadn’t spoken to anyone for days. I hadn’t even left the room in days because I couldn’t bare to see people so they could congratulate me on my wonderful new marriage, but I knew I had to train.
As I got to the training room I saw that half of the room was already occupied by Jace. Just him and a punch bag. I hadn’t spoken to him since the night at the bar, as well as Alec.
He saw me walk in, rolled his eyes and carried on punching. I grabbed my throwing knives and my seraph blade and went over to the dummies to practise my fighting skills.
After an hour Jace came over and threw a duel stick towards my feet, “Lets go”. The way he said it was so cold. I picked up the stick and walked to the centre of the room where he was stood and without being ready he struck the back of my legs and I fell to the ground. I gasped loudly and Jace looked at me like I was being dramatic but the pain was more than it usually was.
“How could you do it? How could you hurt him like that?”.
I slowly got back to my feet and steadied myself, “I didn’t want any of this to happen! I had to do this, my parents-“. He cut me off.
“NO”, he yelled. “There was no excuse, everyone has a choice and you chose to break my brothers heart. That night you told him at the club I could feel his heartbreak, there’s just no excuse for that”.
“HEY”, this time I yelled which threw him off guard. “I love Alec…so much”, tears started to build up and a lump was lodged in my throat. “I wanted to be with him and the night he asked me out was one of the happiest moments of my life. But no one understands. No one understands the pressure I was under”. I couldn’t hold back anymore and the tears fell. Jace was stood looking down at the floor, silent. I began to walk away when he gabbed my wrist. I screamed and fell down because of the pain. Jace stood back in shock not knowing what he had done.
He knelt down beside me, “What is with you today? And why are you dressed like winter for training”. I caressed my wrist, he pulled my sleeve up and saw all the bruises. He pulled up my other sleeve where more were hidden.
“Where the hell did you get these from?!”. I quickly got out of his grip and pulled down my sleeves and stood up.
I turned my back to him, “T-they’re from m-my missions”. I stuttered, not knowing what excuse seemed best.
“No they’re not because I’m always on your missions and we haven’t had one since last week, these are new bruises”.
A new set of tears came to the surface and when I turned to face him and he noticed.
“Is he hurting you?”.
At first I didn’t say anything, I just looked at the floor refusing to make eye contact with him. But the second I looked into his eyes I started hysterically crying and that’s when he knew.
He immediately came to my side and gently pulled my into a hug. It felt good to get it off my chest. After what felt like an hour he loosened he grip. “I’m gonna kill him”. He was began to walk off but I ran in front of him pleading not to.
“Please don’t! Please Jace”.
“Give me one good reason not to”.
“Because if he knows I’ve told people then I’m dead Jace. He lashes out when the tiniest things happen, so god only knows what he’s going to do if you beat him!”.
He nodded, hands still in tight fists but he understood.

Delta (Bucky Barnes x Reader) Pt. 11 ❤️

A/N: I’m sooooooo sorry for this wait yall, but here it is! the moment you’ve all been waiting for!!! I hope you guys like it!! ENJOY! - Delilah ❤️

“Buckyyyyyyy!” you whined.

Bucky rolled his eyes as he ate his slice of pizza. He loved you, he really did, but he was exhausted! Ever since you hit the five month mark of your pregnancy, the two of you have been going at it like wild rabbits. It got so bad, that Bucky was highly considering putting a chastity belt on himself. He knew you couldn’t help it, but Jesus, you weren’t taking no for an answer.

“We just finished ten minutes ago,” Bucky groaned, setting his slice back on the plate.

You wrapped your arms around his neck, nuzzling your face into his throat. You inhaled his scent, filling your senses with the amazing smell of cinnamon and the ocean. Those were your two favorite smells in the world, and it was fairly ironic that your alpha wore those scents as well. Maybe you two were really meant to be together.

You straddled his lap, blocking his view of the football game he was focused on. Bucky’s blue eyes bore into yours. You leaned forward, pressing your lips against his gently. And to your satisfaction, he responded, running his tongue along your bottom lip. You slowly grinded your hips onto his, trying to create some sort of friction.

You heard a small sigh escape his lips as you rocked faster. You could feel the hardness of his erection forming through his boxers. You let a small moan escape your lips as you felt it rub against your clothed core. Bucky placed his hands on your hips, gripping them tightly.

But to your annoyance, he forced them to stop.

You pulled away, your brows furrowed. He never turned you down, especially when you were all hot and ready like this. Immediately, you figured you’ve done something wrong. Did your tummy bother him? You were fully swollen now, maybe it turned him off?

“Y/N,” Bucky whispered, his eyes travelling down your body until they rested on your lower body. You could immediately feel your chest tightening. You could feel the slow burn of tears forming in your eyes. Of course he wouldn’t want you right now, you were as big as a pumpkin.

“Y/N, I….I think your water broke!”

Your eyes snapped open, immediately going straight to your lady area.

Your eyes widened with fear as you saw the clear liquid running down your thighs. It was enough to completely drench Bucky’s favorite black boxers. It even drenched the sheets below. But that isn’t exactly what caused you fear.

Your due date wasn’t set until two weeks. Why was this happening now?

“Friday, get Tony over here asap!” Bucky exclaimed, gently moving you to the side and running towards the closet. He fumbled through the clothes, ripping out your coat and some shoes.

You let out a shriek as the car sped down the highway.

You were absolutely sure that Tony had broken at least twenty different traffic laws, along with causing an accident a few streets away. You clung onto Bucky’s middle protectively.

“Okay, the hospital’s to the right!” Pepper exclaimed, sticking her head out of the window.

“You just ran a red light!” Steve pressed, looking behind him through the rear window. You could hear the sounds of cars honking and the screech of tires as they swerved around the car. If you weren’t pregnant, you would’ve smacked Tony by now.

After a few minutes of breaking numerous laws, the car came to a screeching halt in front of the hospital. You let out a breath of relief. You honestly thought the cops would stop the car at some point.

Bucky flew the car door off it’s hinges as soon as the car stopped, earning a string of insults from Tony. He’d get over it surely, but not after complaining for an entire week.

Bucky immediately wrapped his arm around your waist, making sure that you were completely upright, before ushering you into the hospital lobby. You listened to Steve as he made sure you breathed in time with him.

“It’s gonna be okay, Y/N,” he assured, opening the doors for the two of you. “I’ve watched videos just in case and they always say that breathing is the most important part of staying calm.”

You gave him a small smile, but the panic was still evident on your face. You were internally screaming as Bucky led you to the front desk, filled with nurses.

“Hi, what can I do for yo- woah!” the smallest nurse gasped as she took in your swollen tummy and your pain stricken face. She turned to the nurse beside her.

“Lily, get the wheelchair asap!”

You let out a sigh of relief. As much as you loved being in Bucky’s arms, your feet were killing you. You needed to sit down as soon as possible, you didn’t care where anymore.

The nurse scurried around the counter towards the two of you and gently grabbed ahold of your other arm. She and Bucky both led you to the other side of the room where the wheelchair was waiting.

“My name is Chloe, I’m the head nurse here.” she smiled. She bent down and unlocked the wheels on the wheelchair, giving it a small test roll. When she finished, she stood back up and helped guide you into the chair.

You let out a small groan as you sat into the seat. Your body ached already.

“Are you the father?” she asked, smiling up at Bucky.

But before he could respond, he was interrupted by a scream.

One that came from you.

You clutched your tummy, your eyes screwed shut as you let out a wail.

You watched as the doctors and nurses prepped themselves and set up the IV for you.

“Mrs. Barnes,” the nurse spoke, rubbing your arm comfortably. “I’m afraid that you’re already dilated four centimeters already, we’re going to have to prep you for delivery now.”

Your eyes widened. You honestly hadn’t thought of that at all. You were aware that your mother gave birth to you via c-section, but that’s because you were a delta. From what you understood so far, the baby must not be, as you’ve had zero complications so far. You glanced upwards at Pepper, who seemed completely conflicted.

“It’s going to be perfectly fine, honey.” she assured you, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. You nodded. You could totally do this, right? It didn’t look so hard. Your mother managed to get through two births, along with the billions of women who did this throughout history. Birth was just a small bump, one that you could get through with the help of Pepper and Bucky.

Tony had immediately opted to stand outside, as he was a hundred percent sure that he would either:

a. throw up

b. pass out

c. both

And as much as you loved the dude, you really didn’t want that to happen while you brought your child into the world.

Immediately, you felt the first contraction hit you.And god, it felt like you were being stabbed repeatedly by knives throughout your lower abdomen.

You clutched your stomach, crying out in pain. Bucky immediately was by your side, grasping your other hand with his metal hand and stroking your hair with his flesh one.

“OW!” you cried as another contraction hit you. You could feel the sweat forming along your forehead as you screwed your eyes shut. You could feel the pain shoot throughout your body, as if it were hitting every single cell.

“C’mon doll,” Bucky whispered. “We can do this.” He pressed a small kiss to your temple. You nodded, trying to focus on his voice. He was right, you could do this. Just a few more minutes and this wave of contractions would be over. That’s couldn’t be hard, right?

You let out a sigh as he stroked your hair.

“Alright, Y/N,” Chloe spoke, placing the mask on her face. Her eyes were soft as she peered down at you. “We’re going to need to put your feet onto these stilts now. You think you can do that for me?”

You nodded, releasing Pepper’s hand and placing it on the small handle of the hospital bed.

“Dad, if you could help me lift her legs that would be great.”

Bucky shot up from where he was sitting, his eyes wide with attention. He stood beside your legs and gently lifted your right one until it was resting on the stilt. You gave him a small thumbs up for his bravery.

Once your feet were positioned, that’s when you felt it.

The pain was mind numbing, completely filling your entire body.

You let out a bloodcurdling scream, one that caused everyone in the room to jump.

“Get Dr. Strange in here NOW!” Chloe shouted, her eyes wide with fear.

You clutched Bucky’s hand tightly, digging your nails into the metal. This was unlike anything you’d ever felt. You felt as if your body was being ripped apart. The only thing that you could think of was your mother. Is this what she felt like when you came into this world?

If so, you were so sorry for the pain you caused.

“I can see the head!” Chloe exclaimed, leaning forward. Her eyes were narrowed with concentration, but the immense panic was there.

Something was wrong.

Your heart raced wildly in your chest as you felt another wave of pain coursed through your body. You could feel your pelvis widening, making room for your baby.

“Hey dad,” Chloe spoke. She tried to sound calm and rational, but you could hear the fear laced in her voice. Especially how it trembled after each word.

Bucky’s head snapped upwards in her direction. He was completely afraid. He knew birth would be a rocky ship, but this wasn’t anything like he’d seen in the videos. He knew you would be in pain, it was obvious, but from the look in Chloe’s eyes, he knew something was wrong. And he was so damn afraid.

“Y-Yeah?” he replied.

“I’m gonna need you to talk her down. We need to keep her calm.”

He gave her a small nod before turning his attention to you.

He ran a hand through your hair, turning your face towards him.

“Y/N,” he spoke, his blue eyes starring into yours. “Remember the first day we met?”

You let out a whimper, nodding in reply. You couldn’t speak anymore, the pain was just far too much for you. Tears began falling from your eyes.

“I knew as soon as I stepped off that elevator that I loved you. I don’t know how, but I did. And look at us now. You’re gonna be a mom. An amazing mother.”

“Y/N, honey,” Chloe interrupted. “I’m gonna need you to push for me. The head is almost out.”

You sat upwards, wincing at the pain. With a deep breath, you pushed.

And pushed.

Until you heard the soft cries of a newborn baby.

You let out a sob as Chloe lifted up the small bundle of joy in her hands, wiping it with the small towel in her hand.

Its…it’s a boy!” she cried, looking up at you with a smile. Your eyes widened as you stared down at your son. He wiggled in her hands as she wrapped the blanket around his body.

Your eyes shot to Bucky’s face and you didn’t know if it was possible, but you fell in love with him all over again.

His eyes watered as he starred down at your son. Never in his mind did he imagine he’d have a little version of him in this world, but there he was.

Chloe looked over at Bucky, grinning at him as she held your son out to him.

“Do you wanna hold your son, sir?”

Bucky nodded, completely in awe. He could get used to being called a father, especially by his baby boy.

Bucky Barnes starred down at his son as she placed him into her arms. He looked exactly like the two of you. The baby stopped crying as soon as he was placed in his father’s arms.

But as quick as the pain subsided, it was right back.

You shrieked as you felt the pain shoot through you once again.

What was happening? You looked over at Bucky, who had placed your son into Pepper’s arms. He raced towards you and gathered your hand into his. You could see the tears racing down his face as you screamed once again.

Chloe gasped, her eyes starring down at your body in shock.

“T-There’s…..there’s…Y/N I’m gonna need you to push again, sweetie!” she exclaimed.

“W-What?!” Bucky exclaimed, his eyes wide with pure fear. What was happening? Was there something wrong?

You pushed with all your might, despite the seering pain in your lower half.

You pushed.

And pushed.

Until you heard the familiar screams of another baby.

It’s a girl!” Chloe cried, holding out your baby girl.

Pepper let out a small cry from beside you. Remy was right after all, you were having a girl.

Bucky stared down at his daughter, completely distraught. How in the world was this happening? He reached out his hands, stepping forward as Chloe brought your baby girl over to him.

And to everyone’s surprise, her screams ceased as soon as she was placed into Bucky’s arms.

“Y/N,” he whispered, turning towards you. “It’s a girl.”

As soon as his eyes landed on you, he felt his heart shatter into a million pieces.

As if on cue, the heart monitor stopped, just like your heart did.

Moonlight Reign (Ch. 2)

A/N: It’s been a pretty hot minute since an update, but I hope you think it’s well worth the wait (also some inklings of romance should be embedded soon!)

Summary: SOme things in this world are dangerous, and you, him, and the world that you once lived in that now belongs to him are just some of many you can’t be free from, but do you even want to be?

Namjoon closed his eyes, not wanting to watch as you went down, your eyes closing while your body went limp in Hoseok’s arms, “Y/n!” Jungkook, who was beginning to sober up shouted as he went to your body, “What the fuck, Hobi?!”

Hoseok, known for his nonchalant violence, shrugged, “She was threatening Namjoon,” Namjoon sighed as Jungkook scoffed.

“Threatening?! He gripped her wound, she flipped out!” Jungkook yelled as Hoseok placed your body on the couch.

“Hobi, you idiot,” Namjoon sighed, “Yoongi will freak out if we take some girl who patched up this drunk dumbass,” He gestured to Jungkook, “Let alone, how Jin will react if he finds out we knocked her out!”

Jin was a natural born pacifist with a firm belief that talking, even if restrained, beats force. This philosophy, made him Yoongi’s second in command at the company.

Yoongi, on the other hand, was aggressive more than passive, but with a purpose. This purpose was why Bangtan became top, Yoongi always had purpose with each heavily calculated move, making him leader of the company and empire.

With Namjoon as his second in command for the underground, he knew he would be the most screwed if Yoongi found out he made this girl a problem, “Make her forget it,” Namjoon sighed.

“Do I look like some Men In Black shit?” Jungkook slurred slightly.

Hoseok rolled his eyes, “Give me the flask,” He ordered, looking toward his pocket packed with either vodka or moonshine.Jungkook was an alcohol lover, no doubt, despite the fact he was usually the discrete hitman, sent off to seduce both men and women only to end them, but as much he loved his job, he loved the alcohol in the flask a lot, “You owe me more,” He grumbled, handing over the vodka-filled flask.

“Shut up,” Namjoon snapped as Hoseok poured the liquid into her mouth then closing both her mouth and the flask, “Now come on, Yoongi is going to be really annoyed.”

Annoyed he was, Yoongi heard the story from the three men with a straight face and an occasionally raised brow, “So this is Jungkook’s fault?” He concluded as the younger nodded, “Well if you had not been so successful tonight with your jobs, I’d be pissed,” Jungkook noticeably relaxed, “Namjoon, have any of the girl you picked up found you by your first name? Have any of mine?” He shook his head, “Hobi, we get it you’re the drug guy,” Hoseok nodded as Yoongi heaved a sigh, “Well, let’s hope she believes that she got wasted, and Jungkook will convince her of that much.” The younger nodded again, “Namjoon, Hoseok, if you’re still suspicious, feel free to investigate, but as long as she provides free nursing to this accident prone idiot, I have no current issues, good fighter or not.” All three men nodded once more.

—-

You heard the door close and you immediately ran to the kitchen sink to spit out the vodka on your tongue. Hoseok hadn’t made sure you swallowed, a truly rookie move. This wasn’t the first attempt someone made to make you forget, and one of your bittersweet abilities was to find a way to remember, remember that Jungkook is a member of Bangtan and so was Taehyung, Jimin, Namjoon, and the unseen Hoseok. You had met Bangtan, well five of seven leaders, and now you had to hide from their eyes, from that world, because you don’t want to hold a controller to this game.

You dry heaved at the feeling of the alcohol on your taste buds, “Fuck!” You cursed as you watched your arm drip blood.

They couldn’t at least patch you up? You had work tomorrow.

You sat up straight as you heard the plan. You were to burn it all. You were to watch it all go into smithereens. It was upon the plan explanation that you realized all the people you would be leaving behind. All the people who raised you.

“…Now we will have to get rid of everyone who knows your face, y/n-” Your uncle Byungjoo spoke.

Byungjoo was the second hand man to your father, and he was a ruthless man. He loved nothing but money, hated everything but money. One exception, however, was your father, and he only loved you because your father did.

“No.” You spoke out as your father stiffened and Byungjoo sighed.“Y/n, it’s for your safety.”

“If you do it, I will throw myself into the fire,” You seethed and Byungjoo chuckled, assuming it was a joke, “I swear on the blood of my father and your wife, I will die with those people,” Byungjoo ceased his giggles.

Your father took your death threats seriously. He may not have been loving, but he needed you to live, being you were his only child.“Y/n-”

“Let it go, Byungjoo, they live, end of discussion.”

The next morning was rough, to say the least.

With a sense of deja vu, you woke up to the sound of banging on your door. Groggily, you got up, opening the door cautiously, only to find the last person you wanted to see, “Hey, y/n, are you okay? You drank-”

“You’re a bad liar,” You shot Jungkook’s attempts down quickly as you walked towards your living room, leaving him to walk in and close the door, “I don’t drink,” You stated, sitting on your couch, turning on the news as he stood, dumbfounded, at the entrance of the closed door.

Jungkook didn’t know what to do, or who you even were anymore. He was shaken to the core by the prospect of Yoongi having to punish him. He shuddered, praying you were nice enough to ignore you being knocked out and alcohol being shoved down your throat.

“Wh-Why haven’t you called the cops?” He tripped over his words.

You scoffed, “Don’t insult me, like I don’t know they work under your little group’s thumb.”

“Y/n-”

“I spit out the vodka,” You explained, “It was a shockingly tiny amount of chloroform, so waking up wasn’t rocket science.”

Jungkook was speechless as he took notice of the news, “…Byungjoo was beaten severely outside an elite strip club, and he is still in Intensive Care. The last time we saw him was….” Jungkook took notice of the way you flinched.

“Did you…” Your voice was now quiet, “This is some sick prelude to a prelude?!” Your voice grew angrier, “Then what the fuck is the finale?”Your eyes were slightly glossed over, betraying you. You always had a weak dam blocking tears. Jungkook softened a bit at how hurt you looked, while you internally slapped yourself, angry that you felt a pang in your chest for the heartless filth that was your uncle.

Jungkook froze again. His hazy memories of befriending and drinking with Byungjoo at the club slowly flowing back to him. A river of alcohol and strippers led the recollection. The night was beaten back into him by the sight of his faction of men giving Byungjoo the “warning”, but why did you care so much? “You know I can’t tell- Who is he to you?” Jungkook’s demeanor changed quickly and you could only stare. You two stared at each other for a while. You smacked yourself again for giving yourself away.

There was no way in hell Jungkook wasn’t beginning to piece together who you were, all because of your stupid big mouth. Let’s make friends with the cute douche next do you said. Idiot. Jungkook, however, felt like he struck gold. Bangtan has been looking for you since they took over, and finally their plans could kick into high gear. If his hunch is right, and if you are cooperative, everything could finally fall into place, Bangtan locked in as kings, highest influencers, permanently.

“I have to go to work,” You stood up, “I think it’s best we stay away from each other.” Jungkook blinked for a moment only to begin sifting through your drawers, “Jungkook, stop!” You yelled, pulling him as he hit the wall next to him.

You and him struggled with each other, gridlocked, “Are you the green haired little girl?” He asked and everything stopped for both of you.

You humorlessly chuckled, “Wouldn’t I have killed you or your family by now?” You released your hold on his neck, “I’m going to work, steal whatever you want I guess.”

As Jungkook heard the door slam, he called Yoongi, “What?” The gruff voice of his hyung came.“She remembers-”

“What?! Are you fucking-”

“She’s the green haired girl, I think,” Jungkook spoke as the line went dead, “I’m almost positive, she left me in her house and went to work, what do I-”

Yoongi cooled the fire of his anger momentarily to register the information his dongsaeng administered. You, the girl who plays nurse to Jungkook, are the green haired psycho kid killer, the heiress to what was the biggest underground, and aboveground, empires. He smirked, excited to finally see who you grew up to be, and hungry for the answer to the question that could permanently seal him in as king.

“Tell me where she works and her name, and you will put everything back after you’re done, don’t let her know what you’ve seen” He ordered, “We want her to sweat, we want her scared, and we need her.”

—-

You always hated rock, paper, scissors. It was the game that ⅔ of the time that made you the bar waitress. The girl who dotes on the tables surrounding the bar, a demographic of touchy sports fanatics and lonely people looking for anything to go home with. The tips may have been nice, but they certainly weren’t that nice.

“Have fun,” Eunhwa, the owner of the locally famed restaurant spoke in my ear, “That guy is just sitting at a 8 person booth alone.” you grimaced as she took another very obvious look at the man, “Nevermind, I know who he is,” She sighed, looking at you, “God, you have grown, be careful today.” Your eyebrow quirked at her awkward shift in topic.

Eunhwa was your nanny in a sense. She taught you how to poison people but she also read you bedtime stories each night. After it all burned, she gave you this job when she realized you were abandoned. These days, she would mostly just come to open everything up and then go home, leaving the day to her manager, the shitty sex-hungry woman that was Dohye. She didn’t really talk to you, you didn’t have the right parts to interest her, she did however butt in when a moderately good looking man had the unfortunate fate of catching her radar. Although she was still stunning at only 30 years old, she was a crazy possessive one night stand that made one into at least seven.

“Let go of me, please,” Byungyeol begged you with sorry eyes as you finally relented and released his torso from your arms with a trembling lip and a river that couldn’t stop from your eyes.

“I can’t… You can’t… Please, stay with me. I’m so scared of being alone-” You sobbed into your hands as you both sat in a car outside of your new home with pseudo-parents for your school’s concerns next door. His hand on your head quieted you.

“I love you,” He whispered, kissing the top of your head,, “I rarely ever say it, but know that I do, my daughter,” He opened your door, “We will see each other again, I promise, give me three years and we’ll be together again, a normal family.”

Rat bastard. You internally seethed as you patted down your black shirt with The Rose Palace embroidered on it with an accompanying rose, pondering how to approach the only guy in the bar area. While it had been a few hours since opening, the regular area was flourishing with customers, but the bar was fairly vacant, leaving you to saunter over to the mysterious man- holy shit was he attractive.

Yoongi sat, attentively waiting for the great y/n herself to take his order. He expected nothing much, seeing as you were a known hermit according to Jungkook, he didn’t expect much in your physique. He was told you were a strong-willed and smart-mouthed girl to Jungkook, so he expected some crappy service due to your sharp tongue slicing through your tip amount.Never in his life had Yoongi been so wrong.

He didn’t expect to choke on the water that had been previously set out on the table upon seeing your face. In a word, you were stunning. He watched as you did rock, paper, scissors, and something about the way you pouted upon losing made his whole demeanor quiver a bit. Your bandage on your arm didn’t go unnoticed by him either, perfectly wrapped.Yoongi sighed, you were nothing but a puzzle piece as far as he was concerned, but the way you were shaped made him want to connect you to him, even if for one night. However, you still had the possibility of a wit to make his libido for you shrink, and that possibility went to shit when you introduced yourself as his waiter.

“Hi, welcome to-” Your voice cracked somewhere between the welcome word, and so did your self-esteem a bit. Yoongi took notice of the very evident crack, stifling a chuckle, “I’m sorry you’re like really-uh I- drinks?” Your smile was nervous, and Yoongi’s lips perked up at your nervous nature.

“I’ll be having some friends around soon, but I’ll go with just a water, for now, save my day drinking for later,” You giggled a bit, like an idiot as he ordered. You nodded, scribbling on the pad absentmindedly as you went to fetch the water.

The moment you turned around, you hit the notepad on your face as you walked to the counter, “I’m such a dweeb, Ilhoon,” You stared at the drawing of a sloppy spiral on your notepad, “Can I get a water?”

The bartender, a man about 30 years old, chuckled, “That was a nice spectacle there,” He stated as he got the water, “This always happen when a guy like that comes in, or almost any person really, it’s amazing how you can’t talk to customers.”

“Fuck you,” You huffed, taking the water from him, placing it on a circular tray.“See? You stutter all innocently and like a submissive-oh, now I get it,” He smirked, “You like the domineering type, and they have you all-”

“Fuck you.”

Yoongi wanted to bang his head on the table, this was too sinfully good. He cursed his hearing as he heard the proceedings of your back and forth with the bartender. You were a submissive type, a kitten with sharp nails and a mean bite, and he found himself yearning to feel those claws on his back-

God, he needed to get laid. It’s evidently been too long.

He watched as you brought the water to him, placing it down with a slight tremor, “Let me try my little intro again,” You giggled, “Hi, welcome to The Rose Palace, my name is Y/n, and I will be your waitress today, how many are you expecting?”

Yoongi’s lips quirked at your bright smile, “Six more guys, that alright babydoll?”

The nickname brought a heat to your cheeks that screamed you needed to get laid too, “Yeah, no problem, let me get the-”

“Menus? Already got them, sweetie,” Your skin pricked at the nauseatingly sultry voice of Dohye, “Wow, I’ve never had seven men at once,” She purred, “But I can take this if you-”

Yoongi’s eye twitched at the older woman trying to slide in his pants. He may have been depraved, but he certainly wasn’t that depraved.“I’m good, thanks,” The pure venom in your voice didn’t fall on deaf ears, but Yoongi’s, and he likes it.

“Oh come on, what’s your name, cutie?”  She winked and you internally puked.

“Uh, Yoongi,” He stated and he noticed as you tensed up, the name immediately recognized as the ever so famous leader of Bangtan.“No need to be shy-”

“You know what, you can have it,” You stated, and Yoongi snapped his head to look up at you, only to see you making eye contact with the rest of his party, Jungkook leading the pack.

Yoongi cursed, but refocused on the task at hand, and that was intimidation and forced compromise, not flirtation and consensual fornication, “No, I like my current waitress, thanks.” Dohye rolled her eyes at this and you felt your body freeze while she stalked off angrily.

“Y/n, baby!” Taehyung’s outburst made Yoongi’s eye twitch. Did he just fantasize about someone Taehyung fucked? Gross.

“Baby?” Your eyebrow quirked, and Yoongi internally sighed in relief, and as the guys settled in, your pretty smile was wiped from your face instantly, Hi, welcome to the-”

“Vodka,” Jungkook winked at you, and you simply nodded, actually writing words now that all these cute guys have been demystified.

“God, way to be rude, Kook,” A man, who seemed to be older, scolded.

“Wanna know what’s rude? Hitting fresh stitches,” Jungkook shot and you scoffed.“So is scratching someone with the suture needle,” You reciprocated.

“Oh, boss, we got another guest outside, shall I go fetch him?” Namjoon spoke up.Yoongi thought for a moment, “Take Hoseok and Jin, he can’t walk too well no?”

Namjoom nodded and Hoseok, who waved in a sheepish way, and Jin, the pretty man bowed politely as they left the table.

“No, no, she can’t see me,” The man outside begged Namjoon as he grabbed him, “I sold her out, she’ll kill me.”

“You’ll be dead if you don’t go in there,” Namjoon seethed in his ear, “Now let’s go, old man.”

“Ilhoon, get me a vodka and go, okay? Get everyone out, now,” He nodded, not bothering to ask questions as this kind of threat has presented itself many times before with mine and Eunhwa’s past, and he learned by now not to question you about yours. You were thankful Bangtan were currently the only customers, “Remember when my father came? This is even more dangerous.” He pressed a button that sent a light buzz to each waiter’s pager Eunhwa had us all carry for stuff like this, each buzz signaling who goes when.Watching your coworkers go one by one, Yoongi watching as well, you set the vodka down, slamming it down in front of Jungkook, “Anyone else?”

“Go ahead boys, I think we can get us a family discount, right, Byungjoo?” You stopped as you turned towards Namjoon, who was holding a bruised and blood-stained shit-stain of an uncle, and for the first time in years, you saw red.Byungjoo flinched, “Y-y/n, please I-”

“What is he shaking for? What’s she gonna do?” Hoseok scoffed, “I got her knocked out in two seconds.”

Yoongi shook his head at Hoseok as he observed your body language, and he knew you wanted blood, but would you go as far to kill a family member.“She won’t kill her own family,” Taehyung guffawed.

“Really?” You laughed humorlessly, “Uncle, how old was I when I first killed someone?”

“E-Eight,” He spoke and Yoongi noted the sureness in his statement

.“Who did I kill?” You asked, taking off the promotional button for the restaurant.

“M-Mina,” He was sobbing by now.

“She was my aunt,” You mused ripping the needle off the button. As soon as you did so, you made a running start for him.

“Honey, maybe you should let up a bit,” Byungjoo mused as you yelped from the feeling of his wife’s heel digging into your stomach, “Byungyeol will kill you if he notices.”

“What? Is our new little bug gonna tell on us?” She giggled, her face too beautiful for such an ugly woman.

For as far as you could remember, Mina served as your caretaker, not by choice. She often used you as a foot stool or put out cigarettes on your arms just for a laugh. She hated you, she hated your skin, she hated your smile, so she destroyed as much as she could, and she filled you with rage. Your father was catching on to what would happen when he was out, and he seldom showed you concern, but he caught sight of you weakening, so he handed you a tiny butterfly knife and nodded at you.

You didn’t understand what it meant until now.

“My darling, she hasn’t done-

“Exactly, she just sits there, like a fucking child!” She screamed at me.

“She is a child!” Byungjoo yelled back to her.Now Byungjoo couldn’t care less as to whether or not you lived or died, but encased in Mina’s room was you, her, lights off, TV on, and almost definitely a camera that Byungyeol could see through, and Byungjoo knew so.

“Children are too weak to liv-”

“So childish of you, Mina,” The cold voice of your father sent a shudder down her back and you took a deep breath as her heel retracted from your body.

“Yeolie, I-”

“Byungjoo, you will not move,” Your father stated, “Y/n, use the present I gave you, and Mina, let’s see if you are going to let a child get the better of you.”

“Th-This is ridiculous!” She stomped her foot down as I gathered the knife from my sock.

“So is hurting my heiress because you didn’t age well,” Your father chuckled. That’s why.She hurt you all because you were young like some fucking witch?

“Well?”  Mina inquired, “What a sad excuse of an heiress, I was eight when I killed my mother, and look at you, cowering there, shaking the sad excuse of a knife in your pathetic hand, do something, kill me, you little-”In that moment, you began to see red, and you dove at her, plunging the knife into as far up in her chest as you could reach, knocking her back into the armchair she was sitting in. Byungjoo sobbed as my father patted your head.

Yoongi acted quickly, grabbing you by the waist after you landed on top of Byungjoo, sticking the pin in his shoulder to the hilt. Before you could do any more damage, you were hoisted off your uncle, landing a few good kicks into his shins before your breathing began to even.

“What the fuck was the point in bringing him here?!” You screamed, still trying to go at him as Namjoon chuckled, ripping the pin out of Byungjoo’s shoulder while your uncle yelped.

“We got big plans for your death anniversary, and we only need the missing family member for it. We were hoping your little reunion would wiggle out where he is,” Yoongi stated and you slowly began to laugh.

“You want my father?” You cackled, “Tell me when you see him.”

“You don’t know-” Jungkook began.

“No, fuck face, I don’t, he could be dead for all I care, and he feels the same about me.”  You stated, “I’m a mafia kid before I’m his, you fucking idiots.”

Yoongi stood, dumbfounded, and a little defeated. He didn’t factor in your own father not loving you since all signs pointed to that he did. Yoongi cursed himself for not factoring in such a possibility, a high one at that.

“I’m the little shit green girl, congrats, but I’m a dead end, now let go of me, because I’m going to kill him,” You seethed and Yoongi clicked his tongue.

“A dead end, huh?” He mused, “Fine, but we’ll be keeping you around.”

“Excuse me?” You turned your head to look the leader in the face.“

Congratulations, you’re hired as our new nurse-”

“Fuck off.”Yoongi smirked, putting his mouth next to your ear, “I can get you thrown in prison, green girl, plaster your whole face across the media, and trust me, you won’t like the prison under my control,” He whispered and he noticed you stiffen.

You nodded, not wanting to reunite with who was behind those bars, “I need to be paid, I can’t threaten this place’s safety,” You demanded and Yoongi conceded.

“Very well, wouldn’t want anymore shows, babydoll,” Yoongi taunted you, “Namjoon, take him back to home base, him and I got business,”

You snarled at Byungjoo.“You’re dead if I see you,” You promised.

Byungjoo only managed a sob as he was roughly pushed out. “Jungkook, Jin, take her home,” Yoongi ordered and both men nodded, standing up, “I have to get back to the office,” You scoffed at the sound of him maintaining his facade. “See you around, nurse,” He snickered, letting you go as your head spun at what you had just agreed to do.

they’ve been in this particular town for a few weeks now, mostly because sakura’s presence has been a welcome and necessary one. she’s helped heal countless people who might have needed to travel for days for more specialized aid and they are all sad to see her go. on their last day, as they pass by the market to grab a few more things before heading off, a little girl sasuke watched sakura heal some days go wraps sakura in a hug and hands her a gift.

“happy mother’s day!” the child tells her. she glances back at the grandmother sakura helped as well and then beams at sakura. “this is for you.”

sakura accepts the present slowly. “o–oh, um, thank you! although, i’m not a mother…”

the little girl goes back to her grandmother’s side and the old woman shakes her head. “mothers, mother figures, motherly people – they all deserve something.” she pats the little girl’s head. “you are a kind, nurturing woman, sakura haruno. i’m certain there are countless children who are thinking of you today.”

“I’m lost without you...” - Bruce Wayne x Reader

#8. Going through a crisis together.

This is not a funny story, but after all the fluffiness I wrote lately, I wanted to write something…kinda sad. Not the angstiest story I ever written but…just not just fluff. There’s still some fluffy moments though, and maybe you won’t find it sad at all, maybe it won’t touch you (and didn’t proofread because of reasons), it’s also maybe a bit (a lot) cheesy but…Oh well, hope you’ll still like it :

(My masterlist blog here : https://ella-ravenwood-archives.tumblr.com)

__________________________________________________

-You have to choose mister Wayne.

-I…I can’t…how…how am I suppose to…

-If you don’t, they will both die. It’s as simple as that, you have to take a decision. Now.

Bruce’s head is spinning, and he cannot hear anything else but the fast beating of his heart. Why was this happening ? Why couldn’t something go right for once ? Hasn’t he and his family suffered enough already ?

He feels light headed and sits down on the cold metal chair, in a cold and way too bright hospital corridor. His sons are here, and he just faintly feels their hands supporting him, helping him sit down, stroking his back soothingly, hugging him to try and make him feel better…But he cannot feel better.

He has to make an impossible choice.

Mercilessly, the doctor insists once more, because time is running out :

-Your wife, or the child mister Wayne ? We cannot save both of them.

His wife, or his child.

How could he choose ?

**********************

He wakes up with a start, and by instinct reaches for you…but you’re not here. You haven’t been here for the past month and a half. Unable to soothe him back to sleep after one of his nightmare, as you would usually do.

Bruce felt like he was back when he was eight years old and just lost his parents. Back in Crime Alley that fateful night.

He couldn’t see the light, all hope had left him, all will of living slowly faded away, and he was full of so much anger and sadness.

Angry at the World, angry at life, angry at you…but the sorrow he felt was stronger. And he couldn’t use his anger, he couldn’t be strong this time, turn his life around to be able to live with the thought of loosing someone he loved so much, he couldn’t bear to live like this…Without you. He needed you. Your support. Your presence. Holding you in his arms was all he craved for…He looked at the spot you haven’t occupied in a month and a half and sighed.

He was almost hoping you’d open the bathroom door, and come back to bed with him, smiling…But you wouldn’t.

Not because you died, but because he “let your daughter die”.

Moments like This

Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Featuring: Cooper, Lila, and Nathaniel Barton
Rating: Teens and Up
Summary: Reader and Steve find a quiet moment together while they babysit Clint’s children.
Word Count: 1.2k
Genre: Fluff!
Warnings: Steve being a dork and it’s set before Captain America: Civil War.
A massive thank you to @punkrockhippiefromthefourties for helping me.

Ah, Clint’s homestead. Something every superhero alive in this world would love to have. A stable home. A real home, with your own bed that wasn’t going to crack under another attack. A real home where you could have a nice warm shower that wouldn’t be interrupted because you were needed to save lives again. Feeling free, no duties and just a happy family to live with, that was what you aspired to get once in your lifetime.

Babysitting the kids was another story. Your friend Laura had asked you to watch after her three children while she would enjoy a date with her husband in town. You couldn’t say no, Clint was away most of the time in the year and you knew they needed romantic moments together because you felt yourself living the same story with your boyfriend Steve.

Steve. Watching after two kids and a baby wasn’t an easy task for the super soldier. Even if he was a great tactician in the field, changing a diaper or feeding Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel wasn’t the same thing and had been ridiculously difficult for him.

Title: The Girl From the Journal

Soulmate AU: Jughead Jones has been writing about a girl he has never met before, but when he leaves his journal at his favorite coffee shop one day, an unsuspecting young woman finds it without knowing that the stranger who wrote it was actually writing about her

She wears her hair held high in an off-the-face-neat-and-tidy sort of way that shows the world she’s ready to concur it. Her mind drifts from one idea to the next without stopping to take a breath. And although she doesn’t know it, she impacts every single person she meets just by being exactly who she is.

24-year-old, Jughead Jones III looked up from the beat-up journal that his father had given him for his sixteenth birthday eight years ago, turning in his seat to thank the waitress for the cup of coffee she had just set on the table in front of him. He had been writing an entry a day since he had found it sitting on his bed with a big red bow tied around the front cover when he got home from school, and he hadn’t missed a day since.

“Can I get you anything else?” the waitress, all fluttery eyelashes and puckered lips, asked in the sweetest voice she could possibly muster as she smoothed out her apron and turned to smile sweetly at him.

“No, that’ll be all, thanks,” Jughead dismissed her without a second glance, taking a small sip of his coffee and immediately picking up his fountain pen to continue writing.

“Well, if you need anything else, my name is Naomi,” the waitress informed him, taking a step back from the table and gesturing towards the front of the coffee shop. “I’ll be behind the counter for a while, so just let me know if-”

“Got it,” Jughead cut her off before she could finish, and Naomi sunk back behind the counter without another word.

Jughead focused his attention back to his journal entry for the day, furrowing his brow as he waited for more words about his mystery girl to flow from pen to page like they’d always done so naturally. He had been writing about this girl for years, and although she was nameless, she had distinct features that made her almost impossible to miss if he were ever to meet her in real life. She had become somewhat of an obsession of his over the past few months, distracting him from work and relationships to the point where he was beginning to believe that this girl he created in his mind, was actually out there somewhere waiting to be found.

Just as he was about to tackle his next paragraph, his phone began buzzing frantically on the table, causing the cup of coffee to shake and shimmy all across the table in the process.

“Mr. Dawson,” Jughead answered, his voice rising an octave the way it always did whenever he spoke to his boss. “Yes, I understand that there’s a deadline and I’m - no sir, I wasn’t aware that I took you for granted - yes, sir - yes, and I’ll be there in an hour - now I’ll be there right now, I’m on my way. Okay, see you soon - in ten minutes, I’ll see you in ten minutes, goodbye!”

Jughead clicked off his phone and scooped up his messenger bag from beside him in the booth before sliding out of his seat. Taking one last gulp of his coffee, he carelessly tossed his journal into his bag before hurrying to the front of the shop to pay his bill.

Just as he reached the counter, a woman carrying an overflowing box of what looked to be gardening tools came barreling into the coffee shop without any control of her feet or the box she held in front of her.

“Sorry, excuse me, if you’d just - oops - sorry, sir, are you okay?” With the box partly obstructing her view, the woman nearly slammed straight into an older man carrying a to-go cup, dodging him by only just a hair and knocking her elbow into the counter as a result. “Ow!”

Still in a hurry, Jughead tried to block out the woman’s incessant apologies and turned to the employee behind the counter. “Hi, I’m ready to pay, if that’s alright.”

“Sure, just one moment,” she smiled at Jughead, but then turned to the crazed woman with the box, her eyes going wide as she took in the scene that was unfolding before her.

“I actually don’t have a moment, I’m-” Jughead tried to protest, but the woman behind the counter was already heading over to inspect what was happening near the front door.

“Betty, what on earth are you carrying?”

“Hey, Polly, I’m just… Hold on a second,” the crazed woman, now known as Betty, dropped her box onto one end of the counter and quickly dusted her hands off. “Ah, that’s better.”

“Okay, start explaining,” Polly instructed, nodding to the box of gardening tools and raising a curious eyebrow. “What is all this?”

“My third graders are learning about rocks and minerals this week,” Betty explained. “So I’ve been going around the neighborhood looking for different kinds of stones and varieties of soil to-”

“Sorry,” Jughead interrupted, pulling on his messenger bag impatiently and flapping his check in the air. “I don’t mean to be that guy, but if I don’t get back to my office in seven and a half minutes, my boss has threatened to strap a rocket to my back and send me flying to some unknown universe so if I could just-”

“Yes, sorry,” Polly hurried back over the the cash register and took Jughead’s credit card, quickly ringing him up and tearing off a piece of paper from the machine next to her and handing it to him. “Here’s your receipt, enjoy the rest of your day!”

“Thank you,” Jughead nodded at Polly and turned to head out the door, but before pushing it open to brave the cold morning air, Jughead stopped suddenly and turned back to Betty. “Good luck with the rock thing by the way. There’s some good ones by the lake just off Kingston Drive, if you’re still looking. It’s a gold mine down there trust me!”

With that, Jughead left the coffee shop, leaving Betty to turn back to Polly with a surprised smile on her face.

“Well, that was unexpectedly kind of him. Most guys in suits like that aren’t usually so friendly,” Betty pointed out, thinking back to all the guys she knew in college who were crazed, wannabe business tycoons with a bad attitude.

“He comes in here every morning. Sometimes in the evening too if he’s trying to meet a deadline,” Polly informed her, wiping the counter down with a cloth and leaning forward on the surface with her elbows. “Yet I still have no idea what his name is.”

“He’s a writer?” Betty guessed, trying her best to conceal the interest that had seemed to pop up in her voice.

“Yeah, some kind of hotshot news editor by the looks of it,” Polly explained, pushing off the counter and bending down to fix an out-of-place pastry in the display case.

“Interesting,” Betty muttered, turning back to the door and looking out the window intently. “I wonder if - uh oh.”

An object on the floor in front of the welcome mat caught Betty’s attention, and she hurried over to investigate.

“What is it?” Polly asked, her brows furrowing together as she took in the old journal that her sister was gently holding in her hands.

“Looks like Cinder-editor left his notebook behind,” Betty concluded, holding up the journal for Polly to see.

“Well, hurry, go track him down before he turns into a pumpkin!” Polly joked, gesturing to the door and ushering for her to leave.

Betty knew that there was no way he would still be around, but she also knew that she had to take a chance. Pushing through the front door, Betty hurried out onto the streets, searching both ways for any sign of the journal’s owner. Spotting the same old beanie that she remembered seeing the man wearing at the end of the sidewalk one street over, Betty moved quickly to catch up to him.

“Wait!” she called out to him, but he was already joining the crowd of people in front of him and crossing the street. “Wait, you forgot you’re-”

With all the chaos happening around her, Betty got swept up into a group of school kids heading to their bus stop and ran straight into a woman walking her poodle in the opposite direction.

“Watch where you’re going!” the woman snapped, glancing back at Betty to glare at her before heading into the apartment building behind them.

“Ow, why does that keep happening to me?” Betty rubbed her shoulder, standing on her tiptoes to see if she could spot the beanie again, but it was nowhere to be found.

Glancing down at the journal in her hands, a thought crossed her mind that she knew was unethical, but kept popping back up to the forefront the longer she stared at its worn cover.

“Betty, don’t read it, that would be an invasion of privacy,” she muttered to herself, quickly shaking the thought from her mind and tucking the journal safely under her arm. “But then again, maybe he has his name written somewhere in the front cover. I mean, how else am I going to get this back to him if I don’t know his name?”

Betty slowly slipped the journal back into her hands, glancing behind her shoulder in case anyone passing her on the street could tell how much of a snoop she was being.

“Oh, what the heck,” she conceded, flipping open the book to check for a name. Written in thick letters were the words: Property of Forsythe Pendleton Jones III and scribbled underneath it in tinier, childlike handwriting was the name Jughead.

“Odd,” Betty mumbled, thinking about how strange the name Jughead sounded in her mind. Yet, there was a familiarity to it that made it seem ordinary somehow. Like it was the most common, natural-sounding name she had ever heard.

Having found the name she was hoping to find, Betty prepared her hands to close the journal and head back to her sister’s coffee shop. But before she could follow through, and even though she could never explain it, something stopped her. It was as if there was a pull in the universe causing her eyes to wander over to the next page and read the story that was scribbled carelessly onto the white paper.

“No way,” Betty breathed, letting the words sink in as she flipped to the next page. After reading several entries all about the same girl, Betty slammed the journal and sprinted back to the coffee shop.

“Polly!” she exclaimed as she threw open the door, dodging several customers as she made her way back to the counter.

“What?” Polly’s eyes went wide as she took in her sister, all wild eyes and heavy breathing. “Did you give that guy his journal back?”

“Not yet,” Betty admitted, her breath coming in heavy spurts as she tried to slow her heart rate. “But I was looking through it and-”

“You read it?” Polly gasped. “Elizabeth Cooper, you should be ashamed.”

“I know, I know, but listen to this,” Betty opened to a random page in the journal and started to read the man’s words that had made her heart lurch in her throat.

“’She wanted to shape young minds. To show them that there was a place for them in the world that was better than what they might have seen in the past. And while she was never quite sure of her ability to succeed, she was positive in her ability to teach them that they could.’”

“Okay, that’s beautiful and all, but I’m not really sure I’m getting your point,” Polly told her, tossing a rag over her shoulder and leaning against the counter.

“This entry, and every entry after that, they’re all describing this girl,” Betty explained, holding out the journal for her sister to see. “But the way he writes about her - it never seems like she’s someone that he knows. She’s just this person that exists in this journal but not in real life except-”

“Except?”

“Except I think that she does,” Betty concluded. “And I think that I’m her.”

“Betty, you realize you sound psychotic correct?” Polly threw the rag at her sister, who lunged forward to catch it at the exact wrong moment and let the piece of cloth fall to the floor.

“I know how it sounds, but do you remember that story I wrote for English class in the tenth grade?” Betty asked, bending down to scoop up the rag and set it on the counter. “The one that mom hated?

“Yeah, it was that piece about the boy who’s father was never around because he was some sort of drug dealer or something. And then he gave the boy a present for his birthday that changed his life before he left town for good and never came back,” Polly recounted the story and looked up to raise her eyebrows at Betty as if to say, ‘so what?’ “Yeah, I remember. Why?”

“Read this,” Betty shoved the journal in Polly’s direction and pointed to the description on the back cover. Rolling her eyes, Polly quickly read about how the owner of the journal got that very book from his father on his sixteenth birthday and then never saw him again after that day.

“It has to be some sort of coincidence,” Polly concluded, shutting the journal and handing it back to Betty.

“I don’t believe in coincidences,” Betty whispered, running her fingers along the etchings on the front cover. “I think that I was writing about this man - Jughead - and I think that he was writing about me.”

“That’s insane, Betty, you don’t even know each other,” Polly reminded her.

“I know that,” Betty sighed. “But I think that this is a sign - finding this journal, meeting him today - I think that I was meant to know him.”

“Okay, let’s say that’s true,” Polly cautiously gave in, folding her arms over her chest as she narrowed her eyes at Betty. “What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to find him,” Betty declared, grabbing her purse from the stool she had left it on and shoved the journal safely inside. “And then he’s going to explain to me how he’s been writing about me for eight years when I only just met him this morning.”

Before her sister could protest, Betty headed out the door and made her way to the only newsroom in town, determined to find the man who owned the journal. The man who, she knew in her heart, she was meant to know. And the man who was about to change her entire world.

Power Rangers Headcanons

(I’m so late but I hope you guys like it, the majority of these are long af.)

Includes Trimberly, Cranscott and Tomi (Yes I made the green ranger a girl)

~Jason’s the first to figure out that Kim’s bisexual. It happened at a party, his birthday party actually. The whole gang including their newest member Tomi gathered at his dad’s house for a small get together. Jason wasn’t one to make a big deal out of this day but Billy had insisted and there was no saying no to that kid. So here they were, in his basement watching The Avengers, Billy’s too busy critiquing every inaccurate thing in the movie. And ever since Tomi made herself known, she and Zack had surprisingly hit it off, really fast. But he sees it, the way Kim plays in Trini’s hair, whose head was on her lap btw, and how she seems way more interested in the yellow ranger than anything that’s taking place on screen. She’s had a boyfriend before but from the way she’s looking at Trini, he knows she definitely doesn’t see her as just a friend. He pulled her aside as their getting ready for bed and she makes him swear not to tell anyone. Especially Trini. The thought never even occurred to him, he’s got his own secrets to hide after all.

~Tomi’s real name has yet to be known, by any of the rangers. Except for Billy. He was the one to put two and two together and figure out what she was hiding. She was the new girl who had just transferred here from the Bridgeport Reservation in California. Her real first name, was unknown to the majority of the world, and she liked to keep it that way. She didn’t like people knowing a lot about her, so she made sure that Billy never said a god damn thing. No matter how hard the other rangers begged. The only person who ever got close enough to getting it out of him was Jason. But before he could say anything Tomi body slammed him to the ground to which she claimed to be a ‘training exercise.’ Jason didn’t ask again.

~Zach’s father was a miner who died when he was five. That’s the only reason he was at the mines the night the rangers discovered the power coins. Its his escape from reality, he goes there when he doesn’t want to face what’s going on at home with his mom. As weird as it sounds it’s his safe place.

~Billy and Zach’s dads were friends once, not close friends but they knew each other. It brings the two rangers closer.

~TOMI IS A NATIVE AMERICAN WOMAN

~Jason realized his feelings for Billy as soon as he lost him. The moment Rita released the rope and sent the blue ranger to his temporary doom was the moment his heart dropped, the moment he felt the purest kind of fear and loss all at once. And he wished it was him, he convinced himself that it should’ve been him. So he did the one thing that Billy wanted from the beginning, he vowed to himself that he would keep this team together no matter what.  And when he was brought back, the feeling of relief that washed over Jason was completely and utterly indescribable. He was in shock. He’d never lose him again.

~Trini is good at hiding her feelings, which is why she’s able to hide her crush on Kim until the last week of senior year. It isn’t until she overhears a conversation between Jason and Kim at his party that she gets the confidence to tell her. She does it at school, in detention. Well at least she tries but Kim is to distracted with the training schedule to listen to what the yellow ranger is trying to tell her. So she does the only thing she can think of. She kisses her. Right then, right there, in front of everyone. They’ve been together ever since.

~Both Zach and Tomi are adrenaline junkies. The two hang almost every day and just do the stupidest and most reckless things they can think of.

~For the longest time people assumed that Trini and Tomi were a couple that was until Trimberly became official and shocked everyone who wasn’t a ranger.

~Billy has never felt the need to label his sexuality. He tells this to Jason after they watched episode nine of Bill Nye Saves The World titled the Sexual Spectrum. Jason has to fight the urge to make a move on him right then and there.

~ After graduation the team builds a house on the house and live together on the mountain in order to continue being rangers (Not my idea but I love it).Billy, Kim and Jason attend the local community college and Trini goes  to school online, she’s not a big fan of people. Tomi takes a couple of Art classes at the community center and Zach spends the majority of his days caring for his mother, he wants as much as time with her as possible.

~When sparring Billy trips and brings Jason down with him. They stay in that position way too long to be just friends, at least that’s what Tomi thinks.

~Later that week while Billy’s helping Jason fix up his truck they have another moment. Billy’s holding the flashlight as Jason works on the transmission and accidentally drops it. They both reach for it but Jason gets it first, he looks up to see Billy’s face inches away from his. They probably would’ve kissed if Kimberly hadn’t shown up seconds later ready to help.

~They do kiss eventually, it was after another camp fire by then the rest of the rangers have headed inside for the night leaving only them, underneath the stars. For once it’s silent, Billy isn’t rambling but instead admiring the stars above him. Jason’s hand slides over and covers Billy’s which makes the blue ranger jump and look over at him. He asks if this is okay and the air grows thick. Billy hasn’t pulled away yet and Jason’s heart is racing at the sight of the boy in front of him. And finally it happens, he kisses him with, warning of course, and Billy doesn’t pull away. Instead he melts into the blonde boy. They’ve only been like that for a few moments before their interrupted by Trini who came to grab her blanket. She leaves with it and a knowing smirk. Kim owes her twenty bucks.
