she hates change

okay, okay, hear me out:

what if the boy who lived was the girl who lived? scruffy tomboy harriet “call me Harry” potter, getting extra rubbish from the Dursleys both from being a girl and being the wrong kind of girl

and absolutely nothing in the entire 7-book series changes except for pronouns. because girls can be brave and imperfect and angry and sulky and loud just like boys can.

(except a girl harry would room with Hermione Granger and the Patil twins instead of Ron and Sean, but that’s literally the only thing I can think of that might change)

What do you call it when people change the gendered words and narrator’s pronouns in songs, even when they mess up the rhyme in the process?

YES! I'm one of those who loves SANVERS and doesn't give a shit about Floriana's ethnicity or private life

modern gods  → aphrodite

she stopped romanticizing the idea of love long ago. she has seen the damage and harm people have caused in the name of “love.” aphrodite travels from shelter to shelter, offering tender words to the people she finds there. she’s discovered that one of the greatest pleasures in her long life is helping others.

Touka and Kaneki a Step in the Right Direction

Touka and Kaneki are two characters in Tokyo Ghoul that in many ways have created a chemical reaction. Sometimes they are able to come together and make something useful but other times they cause an explosion. Touka and Kaneki are two characters who are similar but have reacted to their world differently.

They are both lonely being raised by a single parent after the sudden death of the other, and the parent who raised them left permanent scars. Touka was raised by a hypocrite who told her that humans were to be cherished as he killed them behind her back. He would later leave home one night and never come home leaving Touka to develop abandonment issues, as she never felt good enough to keep her father around. She also kept her fathers lessons close to her heart and whenever she strayed she thought of herself as a monster.

Kaneki was raised by a mother who treated him kindly with conditions, as long as he was quiet and a good boy she treated him fine. But god forbid he acted like a normal child and didn’t think of his mothers issues he was abused. Then on top of that his mother died so suddenly that he felt abandoned and his foster family in his aunt made him a recluse which made him feel worse. Kaneki also carried around the twisted message of letting himself get hurt for the sake of others.

Touka and Kaneki grew from this so differently, Touka turned bitter towards that life before she was able to examine herself, and find peace with her lifestyle. Kaneki on the other hand internalized his frustrations acting like he was at piece with his life on the outside, but he was tearing himself apart on the inside. They developed opposite of each other, as Touka matured Kaneki fell apart. They worked so well together in the beginning because in the first part of tg they had similar development. Kaneki and Touka were trying to figure out what it meant to be a ghoul. Kaneki was trying to learn what his new life of a ghoul had for him, and Touka was learning that she could live a normal life away from the violent circle of hatred. Their paths meshed together so they grew together until a the same sunlight in a way.

However, as much as they grew together, they also grew closer together, the more their faults started to creep up on them both. Touka wanted to protect Kaneki because he was once human. But as Touka did that Kaneki became more concerned and decided to protect her at the cost of himself.

But in Kaneki’s need to protect her he hit her weakest emotional cord, abandonment. He told her he wasn’t going to go home with her, and told her she couldn’t help him and asked Tsukiyama and Banjou to go with him in front of her. All her childhood insecurities came back in that moment, she wasn’t good enough and it hurt her.

It was at this point that they developed separate from each other, where Touka became a normal high school girl and Kaneki became a serial killer and gang boss. They developed into two completely different paths and they didn’t know how to approach each other. When they met up again it showed through their conversation which inevitably resulted in Kaneki lying about being fine and Touka hitting him and telling him he hates how he changed. This exact moment triggered both of their childhood trauma’s. Touka with her issues of her not being good enough for her father and how he couldn’t confide in her. Causing her to lash out against everything he taught her, and Kaneki with his abuse and him doing exactly what she wanted from him.

However, because of the Anteiku raid they never got to reconcil, so thus three years go by and Kaneki is reborn as Haise. They developed apart and had a fresh start as Touka the waitress and Haise the investigator. This is so important because this is the time that without the burden of a past they fell for each other. This taught Touka a very important lesson, that she cares for Kaneki enough to let him go, but that she still cares for him and that not every change in him is bad. Kaneki learned that he has a permanent home in Touka one that she won’t take away based on conditions because even after she said she hated his change she gave him a place to return.

Then Kaneki changed again to a highly suicidal Kaneki, willing to die to be cool, to protect others. He hit his lowest low of the series and it was in that moment Touka said three words the struck him “See you later.” which he thought was cruel because he wanted to die. Touka knew but wanted him to understand the meaning of that and it caused him to hesitate to doubt, which lead to him making a change of heart during their fight with Arima.

Kaneki and Touka are two characters that develop off of each other, they bring out the best and worst in each other. They both hit cords in each other, but they also can heal wounds that they never realized they had. This conversation between them in this chapter is an important example of that. Touka admits her man issue with Kaneki, which is the fact that he always leaves her. Something she never understood and something she keeps trying to fix to no avail. Then he tells her that it was to protect her, because he didn’t want to cause her trouble where she would end up dead.

Then he asked her to come with him, which filled the void that she had for so long. Touka also helped fill one for Kaneki as well, which was his loneliness. I’m not saying that Touka is a cure for his problems but through her confession she showed him that she cared. Which shocked him like he couldn’t even believe, that someone cared for him.

I think that the most amazing thing that even if he doesn’t accept the feelings romantically its important for him to know. Kaneki isn’t in any shape or form mentally to be with someone, he’s someone living for the moment holding onto a fragile string to survive. But for someone who has craved being loved for so long, it’s something he needed to here, that someone accepts him with his faults and respects his decision for death even if they don’t agree and don’t want him to die.

This is so important because Touka and Kaneki have reached the moment where they realized the mistakes that they made that caused the other hurt. They were able to talk about it and reach a positive note for both of them, and I excited with how this will help them develop positively moving forward.

OMFG mini Nam Ji Hyun???? She’s so freaking adorable I just wanna put her in my pocket 😩

Reasons Zoë Nightshade deserves more recognition

“The little deformed one,” Zoë suggested.
    “Oh, shut up.”

Percy said she was one of the “bravest people he had ever met.”

Zoë is amazing and deserves so much more love in this fandom

My challenge of redesigning all characters from Eldarya, part 2! Decided to go with a simpler colo this time. [part 1: nevra, ezarel, valkyon]

I have so many problems with Miiko’s character and design I HAD to change this much. Made her younger (she’s a teen here) and completely desexualized her outfit. Fixed the color pattern of her hair/fur (cause the original design makes no sense on that) and cut her hair cause it’s cute and there’s in no (ZERO) girl with short hair in this game which is A SHAME. Also made her look actually asian (her specie, kitsune, comes from the japanese folklore after all) compared to how white she is in game.

I don’t really mind Alajéa’s boob window but made it less terrible. What really bother me tho, when a mermaid becomes human or get legs for whatever reason, is when they wear PANTS. I can’t help to think how unnatural and uncomfortable it must be for them, so I gave her a skirt instead. Made her chubby cause that’s how I see her and the scales more apparent.

Nothing changed much. Her clothes are just simpler and I wanted her hair to be messy. Either because she doesn’t have the time to care about it or it’s just how her hair is and she can’t do anything about it no matter how much she tries. Not sure which I like better!

Honestly I would do anything for Alice Cooper The way she stormed into Thornhill because she thought Polly was in danger being with the Blossoms
And having the gun ready and telling Betty to get behind her when she thought someone had broken into the house
What a fierce mama bear!!
I’m so glad she’s had this character development over the series especially since so few supporting characters have had any character development

Chill Day…

Decided to utilize my day home and wash my hair which was a 2 hour process cause I have too much hair and now I really don’t feel like doing it anymore 😩😩😩.  I got bored and recorded myself singing a few covers including one of my favs (Maybe I’ll just start a YouTube channel with me singing…maybe) I guess I’ll find something to cook…I’m thinking seafood 🤔

Anywhooooo…How are you lovely people this evening?? 😊

anonymous asked:

can you write something about kara/supergirl finding out about lena's favourite little things?

i combined two other prompts with this because i’m terrible and haven’t worked on prompts in months. anyway. sorry if it sucks

It’s during their second interview that Kara learns Lena has a terrible snacking habit.

Her massive desk has a well hidden drawer—one that Kara missed the first time she x-ray visioned the office, much to her chagrin—filled to the brim with energy bars, trail mixes, crackers, and expensive chocolates Kara’s never even heard of, maintained and supplied by the very perceptive Jess who is well aware of her boss’s unfortunate tendency to forget several meals in a row and insists on at least ensuring that the CEO subsists on snacks at the very minimum.

Kara spends the hour Jess has painstakingly fit into Lena’s schedule smiling as she watches Lena pull out a bag of trail mix, snacking through every question, chewing thoughtfully as she ponders how to respond to the inquiries into her family.

“Oh no,” she murmurs, after asking Kara to try the dried cranberries, informing her that they’re her favorite and that she wants Kara to try them too, “I don’t think my mother was working with Lex before. I think his going mad was what broke her. She was never quite shy about being obvious for her preference for Lex.” Lena stops, digs through the mix for a moment, searching for any chocolate—something Kara’s noticed is the first to go—and shakes her head. “Can we leave that off the record, Kara? I just…let’s talk about something else.”

And Kara nods, promises to leave out any mention of Lex and Lillian (focusing only on Lionel), and accepts the cranberries, trying hard not to blush at the smile Lena sends her way when she agrees it’s likely her favorite part of the trail mix as well.

(From that day forward, Kara always checks the secret drawer, letting Jess know on the sly if Lena’s stores were running low—much to the assistant’s pleasant surprise.)

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

A gunshot ripped the silence of the night, signalling Jason that there was another attack. He hurried to the location, thinking it was another attempted murder. There were too many around these areas, he hated it.

Landing swiftly in the dark alleyway–really? Could this idiot get more cliche than this?–he surveyed the area, looking for the shooter. However, he found none except some bullet holes and signs of struggle.

There was a sign of movement, just a mere change in the shades of black on the ground, but a trained vigilante like him noticed. With his guns in his hands, he slowly walked deeper into the alleyway. He kept his eyes trained on the waste disposal, knowing in his gut that there was someone behind there.

He anticipated a retaliation, but what he didn’t expect was how skilled the assailant was. She came at him at a speed that rivaled the Flash’s, kicking him in the head and knocking him down. In seconds, he was on the concrete, staring at the barrel of a gun with her on top of him.

Jason glared at his attacker, but when he saw her face, the glare turned into a look of surprise for he knew that face. It was the face of his little sister, [F/N] Wayne.

Her brows were furrowed and fire burned in her eyes. She was panting heavily, sweat glistening against her skin as she studied him with those intense [E/C] orbs of hers, ones that were unfamiliar to him. He was so used to seeing them clouded with lust and alcohol, or youthful glee. This predatory gaze was something else, someone else.

However, the fire gradually died down into merely an ember. [F/N] visibly relaxed and removed the gun from his face. She murmured, “Oh… it’s just you.”

She got off Jason and and offered a hand to help him up. Instead of taking that hand, he focused on the red stain on her abdomen. “What the fuck happened to you?” He demanded, helping himself up.

She gave him a strange look, as if not realizing she had a gaping wound. She followed his eyes and mumbled a small ‘oh’ when she saw what he was staring at.

“Come on, we’re getting you home.” With that, Jason roughly took her hand and began dragging her out of the damn alleyway, not realizing that he was still in his Red Hood gear and she shouldn’t be able to recognize him. He wasn’t questioning why she was out there in the first place, where she learned how to take down a grown man twice her size or why she got a gun, he was too concerned about her safety. He may not like her presence now, but she was still her sister. She was family, and no matter how insufferable or revolting she was, she never really did anything wrong.

“Jason, I’m fine, really.” She protested, slipping her hand out of his grip with ease, as if she had done it a million times.

Jason spun around and glared daggers at her, his helmet making the look even more intimidating. “No you are not [F/N], and you know it. You’re going to get yourself killed!”

His sister stood still, staring at him in confusion. “With that tone and voice, it almost sounds like you care about me.”

“Well, that’s because I do.” He snapped, not in the mood for her sass. “No matter how irritating, how stupid or how disappointing you are, you’re still my sister, and I will not let you bleed to death.”

That must’ve gotten through to her, because Jason found that she didn’t struggle when he took her hand. They walked through the empty street in silence. If anyone bothered to look out the window, they would be greeted with a strange sight indeed, but the world was asleep. As for the cameras, Tim would take care of that.

“You do realize you’re still in your gear, right?” [F/N] finally spoke up.

Shit.” Jason groaned and pulled his sister to the side, looking around to see if someone saw. [F/N] chuckled in amusement, but winced because the movement caused her pain.

“Don’t worry, no one saw. This street is practically a ghost town,” her face grew serious, “it’s why those assholes chose this place.”

“Assholes?” Jason shook his head, clearing it before thinking over about what occurred. After realizing things that should’ve been realized a while ago, the questions began. “Wait–how did you–since when did–does the others know?”

“Known all along, didn’t say anything.” She patted his shoulder. “I’m smarter than I seem, you know.” Jason opened his mouth to voice his other questions, but when he saw how her hand moved to cover her wound, he thought against it. The explanations could wait, [F/N]’s life was at risk.

“You know what, let’s get you fixed up first.”

Jason sat beside the bed [F/N] laid in, studying her carefully, trying to decipher the puzzle she created. Apparently her wound wasn’t fatal, but she did lose a lot of blood, which was why she was asleep at the moment.

When he questioned Bruce, the older man explained everything to him, startling him greatly. It was difficult to see [F/N] as someone different but then again, she was part of this crazy family.

He felt guilty for being so harsh on her, but truthfully he was only harsh because he cared too much.

He recalled a time when they used to be close. It was before his death; she always sneaked into his room when she had bad dreams. She followed him everywhere and mimicked everything he do, wanting to be ‘as cool as her big brother’ as she worded it.

It was only after he came back did he see how much she changed. He hated the person she became, but more than anything he hated the fact that Bruce didn’t stop this. He didn’t realize it was all an act.

“You gonna keep staring at me like that?” [F/N] questioned, opening her eyes.

“How did you know?” Jason asked, surprised she was able to tell.

She sat up and shrugged. “I just do, I guess. It’s a feeling that I get.”

Jason nodded understandingly. Years of training did that to people.

“They told you?” She inquired.

“They told me.”

“And you’re not angry?”

Jason shook his head. “I’m impressed, but I am angry you didn’t tell me. Thought we were best buds kid.”

“Didn’t want to–”

“–involve me, yeah I heard all that from Bruce.” Jason waved a dismissive hand. “Still insulted.”

[F/N] laughed. “Of course you are.” She then glanced down at her hands, as if ashamed about something. “But I’m sorry, for lying to you.”

Jason’s eyes softened immediately. She was guilty for doing the exact same thing they did, he had no right to be upset. None of them did. “To be fair we did it too. You have nothing to be sorry for. If anything, I’m the one who should be apologizing for being an ass.”

A few tears escaped her eyes and she quickly wiped them away.

“Why are you crying?” Jason asked frantically, scared he did something wrong.

“N-No, I’m just happy.” She explained with a smile that reminded him of her younger self, the little sister he always knew, the one he loved, and still do. “Back then when you found me, I was so surprised you were so worried. I didn’t think…” she laughed, shaking her head as if amused by her own stupidity, “but you cared so much, it really touched me.”

She gave him the brightest, most genuine smile he had ever seen appear on her face in years, and that’s when Jason truly knew that his little sister never changed. She was still the same girl that sneaked into his room all those years ago when she had those bad dreams.
