How would the RFA react to MC being constantly scared she is being abusive towards them because she has been accused of being abusive in the past? Like their relationship is absolutely healthy, but she keeps being tempted to call it off because she loves them so much and is scared of accidently hurting them.

Okay, so maybe this isn’t fully abusive, but I hope you still enjoy this!

RFA reassuring MCshe’s not being abusive

  • Of course you get jealous, okay?
  • How wouldn’t you? He’s gorgeous, he’s nice, it’s obvious he has fans and coworkers running after him.
  • But you’ve been here before, you are so possessive! Remember what your ex used to tell you? You were a crazy paranoid bitch!
  • So, in order to not being accused of getting possessive, you try to be as more indifferent that you can
  • “Babe, I have this new co-star in that musical, is it okay if we do some… provocative scenes?” “Do what you want. Your career, your choice.” Oh, okay…
  • Well, he’s glad you’re cool with that, but sometimes you’re too cool, you know? To the point of being cold… As if you don’t really care about anything, about him or this relationship whatsoever…
  • When he confronts you about it, you’re so confused. “Wait… you’re mad at me because I’m not jealous?” “No, it isn’t like that, it’s just… you’re so cold sometimes, MC! I feel like I could do porn and you wouldn’t even say anything. I… feel like you don’t want to be a part of this with me. And it’s hard because both my career and you, they’re so important to me.”
  • Oh my god… he’s so hurt! What the hell are you doing? “Zen, I… of course I want to be a part of your career, I’m just trying to give you some space, I don’t want us to break up because I couldn’t control my possessiveness…again.”
  • “Again?” then you tell him everything about your ex-boyfriend, and… okay, maybe you are a little paranoid, because, from what he can tell, you never acted possessive around him, not even during that whole Echo Girl ordeal.
  • All you’ve always done ever since you showed up was being supportive to his work and his choices. And jealous isn’t good, but it’s normal, he gets super jealous sometimes too.
  • He tells you all this and hugs you in reassurance, he wants you to always speak up your mind if you don’t like something on his work, consider yourself his symbolic manager from now on.
  • And a few months later, symbolic manager turned into real manager.

  • In your defense, he can act like a train wreck sometimes
  •  It’s so common to see him nervous and flustered with every attempt of getting… intimate coming from you.
  • So you’re pretty sure you’re pressuring him on doing things he’s not ready to do and doesn’t want to.
  • You want him to be comfortable and do as he pleases, so… any initiative should come from him from now on.
  • And, since he’s shy, there is no initiative coming for a while now, to the point you two are feeling like two buddies sharing rent, not a couple living together.
  • So here are you in the bed getting ready to sleep, but neither of you are really sleepy, so you’re cuddling lazily and catching up about your day.
  • And since it’s been a while… things get heated pretty fast, with kisses growing deeper and you subconsciously getting closer. You look at him and he’s red as a tomato, then you immediately back away.
  • Poor boy is so frustrated, did he do something wrong? Is it that bad that you won’t even talk about it? No, but he needs to know what’s wrong in order to fix it, right?
  •  “MC, am I… am I not good enough for you?” “What? You’re great for me, honey!” “No, I mean… on… you know, bed stuff…” Ohhhhhh…
  • “You… are great if you’re not feeling forced to it” “F-forced? But I was never forced before, MC!” “Really? Because I feel I’m forcing you sometimes! You get so flustered and uncomfortable, and I hate seeing you like this, but I like being close to you so much I don’t even… ugh, I’m so selfish, Yoosung!”
  • Selfish? That was the last thing he could ever think about you… and boy, he might be insecure, but you’re on a whole different level, ain’t you?
  • He’s shy and gets flustered easily, but he never felt pressured to do anything, much on the contraire, he feels like you really encourage him and boost his confidence on being the man he wants to be.
  • He told you all that, and let’s say you both felt really encouraged that night on doing a lot of new things.

  • This is most about you as business partners.
  • When you were in school, people will say working with you could be a challenge sometimes, since you tend to be a control freak and not taking other people’s opinions that well
  • So obviously you’re afraid of being authoritarian, because Jaehee dealt with a very commanding boss for too long now.
  • So you usually do as she says without questioning much, or nothing at all.
  • At first, it feels good to Jaehee, she feels a lot of freedom, but as time passes, she realizes it’s not that great.
  • You’re creative and used to contribute with great ideas, she misses this. Also, what’s the point of being partners if you’re just doing it as she says? Like you’re just one random employee?
  • She’s afraid of saying anything, but she can’t stand this anymore! What if this ends up affecting your personal relationship as well? With you acting like her puppet or something?
  • So she finally gathers some courage to confront you. “MC, are you unhappy with the cafe? Is that why you’re not taking part in decisions anymore?”
  • “What? No! I… care so much about the cafe, Jaehee! I want it to succeed and I know my bossy tendencies would only get in the way of it…”
  • “What bossy tendencies? All I see is an assertive, go-getter girl with great ideas…” “Yeah, who sucks at team working, you should see the disasters my projects ended up being in high school…”
  • Hum, high school wasn’t the highest point of her life either, but from very different reasons. Either way, she’s sad you carried these insecurities up until being a grown woman.
  • This isn’t high school. If you have a problem, you two will deal with this together, you’re not alone anymore.
  • You’re partners in business and in life.

  • He’s not the only one worried about not being able to handle emotions very well.
  • Yeah, your ex kept telling you over and over how cold and distant you can be,almost like you didn’t care about the relationship at all, even your parents would endorse this as well.
  • You don’t want to be cold, that’s not what Jumin needs, he needs a bright attentive person.
  • So you’ll be that person, to the point of being… clingy.
  • At first, he enjoys the attention. You’re always calling and texting, even when you have nothing important to say.
  • But then it starts getting in the way of his job a little. He doesn’t want to hurt you, but he can’t keep walking out of important business meetings just to talk to you, even though he would really like it.
  • Even his father took a notice of this and, based on his experience with women, he could only come to a single conclusion: she’s trying to mark territory because she thinks you’re cheating on her, son.
  • OH. MY. GOD! Why would you even think something like this? He would NEVER cheat on you, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he ever did something so despicable to you.
  • “You know how much I love you, right, my love?” “Yes, sure. You know I love you too, right?” this isn’t romantic at all, it’s just tense as hell!
  • “I do, and I appreciate it a lot, so keep this in mind and never think I would do something that could hurt you, MC, like leaving you or… cheating on you…” “Cheating on me? Why would you even say that, Jumin?” okay, now you’re both super confused.
  • “Because… you’re worried about me cheating on you?” “No, I’m not. I mean… I wouldn’t be surprised since I’m so cold sometimes…it wouldn’t be the first time…”
  • Oh, yeah, the ex who cheated on you because you were allegedly too cold… you talked a little about him. He’s a smart man and can put two and two together pretty fast, your recent clinginess has everything to do with that.
  • “People can find as many excuses as they want when they’re willing to cheat, MC, but in the end they’re just cheaters. Maybe I’m being biased here, but I don’t think there’s something wrong with you at all.” And do you even care he’s being biased?

  • Okay, we all know he pushing you away like that was most about him and his own insecurities.
  • But you’re pretty sure it has to be about you as well, I mean, you can be very needy when you want to, your ex told you that a couple of times.
  • You want to give him all the love he deserves, but… you don’t want to be a clingy co-dependent person.
  • So guess whose turn is it in pushing away? Yep, yours. But you’re more subtle, actually, you never get angry or snappy, you just… avoid him. A lot.
  • At first he thought you were just giving him space to deal with his brother issue, but even after Saeran got a little better, you were still very distant.
  • Where was that supportive optimistic girl that got trapped with him in that apartment? He misses you and your joyful spirit.
  • Is he doing something wrong again?
  • “MC, you know you can call me out if I start acting like a prick again, right?” “Yeah, sure…”
  • “Okay, so what are you waiting for, then?” “Excuse me?” “Tell me what I’m doing wrong this time, MC.” “Nothing! Why would you even say that?”
  • “Well, because you’ve been so cold lately… I’m trying really hard not to be that guy from before, MC, I would hate to hurt you like I did back then just because I have a lot to deal with…” “Well, maybe I have my share of responsibility on what happened back then?”
  • What are you even saying? You’re blaming yourself for him getting insecure and snappy? No! He was the problem back then, and he wouldn’t be able to come through if it wasn’t for your patience and reassuring attitude. You’re the light of his life!
  • To make it up for lost time, you two never cuddled so clingy that night. Not that any of you is complaining, tho.

I laugh at that name every time, and I’m not even sorry.

So I haven’t touched the 2 latest episodes because I’m lazy, but this was so much fun that I had to devote some time screaming to it! So get ready kids, because there is screaming (and spoilers) below the cut.

Chapter One: No Ordinary Life

I watched the sunrise through the window as I took a sip of green tea from my mug. Perched on a stool in the kitchen with my laptop on my legs, I was scrolling down the articles of The Celebrity Times when a title caught my attention.

The headline, in bold red font, said, “OOPS, NEGAN DID IT AGAIN!”

How would DA:I companions react to an orphan teenage (16-18) Inquisitor? Also, how would they react to the Inquisitor saying that they have been the closest thing they ever had to a family? (Advisors also please)

Cassandra: She finds out after they stabilize the Breach. Her heart sinks even more than it already does when she thinks about how hard she was with them when she first met them. The Seeker sheepishly apologizes and reassures them later that they can stay with her and the Inquisition as long as they want. When they say she’s the closest thing to family, she freezes for a moment. Her eyes soften and she smiles genuinely at them, and she nods. “You’re the closest I have to family, too. Inside or outside of Nevarra… you are part of my family.

Blackwall: His heart drops with heavy pity, and it makes him more protective of the kid. He’s not sure how to go about it, but he does mention that if they ever want to talk, he’s willing to listen. At some point after the truth about his identity comes out, they talk it out, and they end the conversation by stating he is among those they count as the closest they’ve had to family. He stares, wide-eyed and shocked, unsure if he heard them correctly. When he realizes he did, he beams and hugs the kid if they allow it. “You’re my family, too, if you’ll have me.” he agrees.

Iron Bull: If the Herald doesn’t seem upset by it or like they don’t wanna talk about it, he never even brings it up. People under the Qun don’t really have parents– just Tamassrans who show them the way, and he figures Cassandra and the others do a good enough job of that. When they mention that he’s practically family, provided he’s Tal-Vashoth, it makes him beam, and his eye gleam with pride. He almost squeezes them to death in a big hug. “You’re my family, too, Imekari. You’re an honorary Charger, you hear me? And a permanent one if you want, someday.”

Sera: She can relate to them immediately, and she just sort of nods in quiet understanding. They eventually have cookies and talk on the room by her room about their own family situations, and bond ever more. She sticks by them often to keep an eye out for them. When they tell her she’s the closest they’ve got to family– specifically, she’s like their big sister– her eyes almost start welling up with tears. She pulls them into a tight hug, gives them a playful noogie on the head, and laughs brightly. “You’re my little sibling, you are.” she announces. “Alright. We’ve got our own family now, and anyone who says otherwise can shut it!”

Varric: He can sort of relate, because his dad died when he was young and his mom was an alcoholic who did little to raise them. He reassures them that if they don’t have anywhere to go after this that they could stay with him if they want to, in Kirkwall– he’d find them a job. When they call him family, he grins and pats their back. “You’re family to me, too. You’re always welcome in House Tethras. You can even take my brother’s room!”

Cole: He feels their pain, and his comments differ, depending on how long they’ve been orphaned and their relationship with their parents. But it always ends with Cole mentioning this: “A little warmth is growing and growing in your heart. You feel at home with us, a family.” They mention that Cole is as close to family as they have, and Cole lets out an excited laugh and doesn’t know how to express his joy, so he bounces a bit up and down. “Oh! Thank you! I love you, too! I can be family! You are family! We are family!”

Dorian: He hesitates for a moment before he speaks. “I’m sorry to hear that.” he says quietly. “We are here for you. I know we’re not exactly the same as a good family or good parents, but not everyone has that luxury. I would know…” The Herald isn’t sure how to comfort him after Dorian deals with his father, but they talk to him and make sure he’s alright, and he knows they’re trying. When they say he’s brave, it makes his heart soar. When they call him their family, he gasps and stares at them for a moment. Finally, he grins. “I detest confessions, but… you’re family to me, too. More so than anyone in the south… thank you.”

Solas: He says very little about it, but he knows it hasn’t made their life any easier. He believes they are, nonetheless, capable on their own, and doesn’t worry about it as much as the others. If the Herald is an elf, he does ask more questions about what happened to their parents, but he stops if it upsets them. When they call him family, he’s silent, unsure how to respond, at least before forcing a smile and thanking them. He very much wishes he could say the same, but he doesn’t want to hurt anyone who he would consider family.

Vivienne: She’s indifferent about it– she got along her life without her parents, and so can the Herald. She’s not cruel about it, though, if they seem upset by it, and offers her sympathies. However, she does take it upon herself to make sure they have everything they need to succeed. When they tell her she’s family, it comes after Bastien dies. She’s silent, for a moment, before finally nodding and smiling. “Thank you, Darling; you’re practically family to me as well. You will always be welcome in my home.”

Josephine: She frets over them even more than before, trying to ensure their emotional needs are also cared for. The ambassador becomes a bit overbearing, but it’s all out of concern. She receives offers from numerous noble families offering to adopt the Herald as their own, but she turns them all away without a second thought. They need someone who really loves and cares for them, not just nobles vying for power. When the Herald tells her she’s like family, she gasps and hugs the Herald in return, heart soaring. “I feel the same way. You’re a Montilyet, in my eyes and heart.” she agrees proudly. “You will always be welcome in our home as a member of our family.”

Cullen: He feels pity for them, but doesn’t know how to go about it. As a result, he doesn’t bring it up unless they do, and he does his best to listen sympathetically. It annoys him to no end that there’s nobles who would adopt the Herald just for appearances– they deserve more, real love. When they tell him that he’s like family, his eyes soften and he thanks them, with a reassurance that they are welcome in his family. He tells his sister in a letter, and if his family comes to visit, they demand to see their “newest member of the family” and gush over the Herald.

Leliana: She relates to them, and knows how they’re feeling. She handles it the best, and will calmly listen to them if they need to talk about it. At one point after a long chat, she offers them an Andraste’s Grace flower and wishes them well without clarifying what it was. She grows closer to them than she anticipated, and finds herself briefly at a loss when they call her family. She finally settles for giving them a rare, genuine smile, and nodding. “I’m not sure I’m who you would want as an aunt,” she says wryly, “but I’ll try.”

They’re not what Zevran was expecting.

The plan isn’t ruined, per se, but he was rather counting on them to be slightly less suspicious. Grey Wardens are heroes of legend, and people routinely called heroes are supposed to be giving and trusting. This lot clearly isn’t. The elf - Dalish, if he’s seeing correctly - and Qunari are just short of openly disdainful, trading eyerolls when they think no one can see. At least, he clearly sees the elf roll her eyes; the Qunari is on the far side and perhaps more mannerly than Zevran gives him credit for.

Perhaps only the human is a Grey Warden then. He certainly seems eager to assist the woman Zevran’s hired. His information is scare and outdated; it’s entirely possible the others could be tagalongs. That would be more fitting. Champions sometimes amass a following, and outlaw heroes have their own appeal. And if the Grey Warden is this blindly trusting, well, he certainly needs them.

That rather complicates things for him though. The two suspicious ones are scanning the horizon, shoulders tight, clearly expecting something. The massive dog - and Zevran’s not sure if he’s a Grey Warden or not, this being Ferelden - is scenting the air. They’re not going to make it to the wagon.

"Leo what the–“ Yoongi stepped out of the office to find Leo standing with a large suitcase at hand.

"I did the honor of packing your clothes, sir.” he bowed. “So it’ll be unnecessary for you to return home after work.”

           "Gee…thanks.“ Yoongi stated sarcastically.

You were standing beside him in a daze, listening to their conversation but not truly comprehending it. You were beyond floored at the turn of events. Apart from Jimin and obviously the Chairman, no one knew about where you had come from. And you had wanted to keep it that way…especially from your new boss who enjoyed living lavishly.

"I can’t believe this is happening…” You breathed.

"Well it won’t be too bad. I’ve lived in a few small apartments here and there when I wanted to hide from family.“ Yoongi patted you in the back.

           You groaned.

"Do you live far?” he questioned as you two began walking out of the building.

           "Yeah…a bit.“

           "No…with my family.“

"Ohh.” he was silenced. “Well I shouldn’t intrude! The Chairman just can’t force me into someone else’s home. We should go back and complain!”

"I already paid a visit on his orders and they were more than enthusiastic that Miss Y/N was bringing a man home.“ Leo cut in.

You wailed. "Noooo! Mr. Leo –WHY?”

You fought the urge to grab his perfectly ironed collar and shake him silly. “They’re going to misunderstand!”

Leo shook his head. “I made sure to explain that this is temporary and that you and Mr. Min have not shared any romantic notions past lying in bed beside each other with no bodily contact.”

Your face burned at the image of your parents having to hear that from a strange man, and Yoongi smacked Leo’s arm.

"Leo! I told you to stop saying things people would misunderstand!“

"But it’s the truth?” Leo mumbled.

"No, no, no…“ You shook your head. "This has to be a nightmare right? Right?”

Yoongi stretched out your cheeks. “Get a hold of yourself woman.”

"Your parents were quite ecstatic.“ Leo continued. "They said ‘it’s about time she starts showing interest in men. She’s always working! Of course we’d love to meet the man!’. And I believe someone who said they were your brother said 'Let me meet the deluded man who wants to date my sister!’ They were all quite amiable. There should be no problems about our stay.”

You crouched down on the ground and covered your face in embarrassment. “Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry.”

Yoongi laughed. “They sound hysterical. I’m not so annoyed anymore. This might be quite an entertaining venture.”

You glanced up at him incredulously. “Are you serious?”

Yoongi shrugged. “I’m a very flexible and adaptable man. It’s supposed to be a punishment but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it.”

"Must be nice to be carefree.“

"Must be tough to think you can control life.” he snorted.

You glared at him but he nonchalantly continued strolling forward.

"I guess I’ll go home with you after work then.“

You exhaled, knowing that there was no way around it. You had to accept the consequences of your actions. You deserved this, but it wasn’t going to be an easy task for either of you. Your family and your living circumstances might be an absolute culture shock for him. And frankly, you knew they were going to embarrass the hell out of you in front of your new boss. You dreaded it all.

"Are you upset cause you won’t be able to 'clean the dirty hoes’ while I’m around?” Yoongi joked as he walked you back to the building.

"Let’s just get to work. We’ll deal with everything later.“ You sighed, not in the mood to jest.

"Aye, aye.” he grinned as he scurried ahead of you.

You wondered who this was actually a punishment for. Yoongi seemed to have gotten over the loss of his apartment already while you felt like you gained a perpetual raincloud above your head.

As soon as you returned to your desk, Jimin called you into his office curiously.

"What happened?“ he asked as he handed you a cup of water and guided you to his chair. "Why’d you both get called in by the Chairman?”

"Well, he found that Yoongi’s been neglecting his duties and I’ve basically been covering up for him by doing them instead.“ You explained with a frown. "So now he’s punishing us.”

"How?“ Jimin gasped as he sat at the edge of his desk, twirling his tie mindlessly.

"He kicked Yoongi out of his apartment and told him to live with me…” You mumbled.

You saw Jimin’s hand still from twirling his tie and his face went through various emotions in a split second – from confusion to shock to pure delight.

"Oh my goodness. YOU’RE LIVING TOGETHER??“ he exclaimed.

"Shhhh!” You scrambled to cover Jimin’s mouth, afraid other people would overhear through the walls.

"Does he know you live on a farm?“ Jimin whispered as he pulled your hand away.

You shook your head. "Not yet.”

"I’m so jealous.“ Jimin pouted playfully. "You’ve never introduced me to your family and you’ve known me longer.”

"Jimin.“ You rolled your eyes. "This is hardly the time to play jealous. Plus you have your girlfriend back in Seoul.”

"Not my real girlfriend.“ Jimin emphasized.

"Yeah, yeah. You only told people that so no one at work tries to seduce you cause you can’t keep your urges in.” You waved your hand then spotted a picture on his desk. “That’s a new picture of her right? I’ve only seen the picture of you two on your phone and profile.”

"Yeah, the three of us went on a trip when I took those personal days.“ Jimin smiled fondly at the photo.

"How’s CEO Jung doing these days?” You mentioned, thumb glazing over the third man in the photo. “Still crabby?”

Jimin chuckled. “He probably has a higher stick up his ass than you do right now. I didn’t think it was possible to be more uptight than you. But not sure what he’s unhappy about, I heard his secretary was pretty hott.”

"Is that why you’re planning on running away from me, huh?“ You pinched Jimin’s thighs in protest, and he cackled as he grabbed your hand to prevent any further pain.

In the midst of your laughter, there was a light knock on Jimin’s door.

           "Come in.” he chimed.

You both were surprised when Yoongi stepped into the room, mirroring the same expression of astonishment, probably due to the position you two were in. Hurriedly, you slipped your hand away from Jimin’s and stood up.

"I’ll leave you two to talk.“ You stated with a slight blush and walked past Yoongi before either of them could tease you.

"So how long does this bus ride take you?” Yoongi yawned as plopped down on the bench. “10 minutes? 20 minutes?”

"An hour and a half.“ You admitted.

"An HOUR AND A HALF?!” Yoongi shouted.

Leo flinched from his loud voice and moved closer to you.

"Yeah…I live far from the city.“

"Are you serious? What? Do you live on a farm or something?” Yoongi snorted.

"Umm…well yes…“ You confessed, rubbing the back of your neck.

There was a few minutes of silence between you three; only the light sounds of engines and people chatting were heard.

           "S-seriously?” Yoongi stammered.

           "Yeah…“ You looked down, embarrassed.

"So you seriously travel an hour and a half to work and back home? All the time?”

"And you’ve had get up earlier cause you had to get my ass out of bed?”

You chuckled. “It’s all part of the job.”

"So you’re poor?“ Yoongi blurted out.

Other people at the bus stop shot him a look and you blushed. People passing by might consider him rude, but you knew he was merely curious rather than taking a stab at your economic status.

"I guess relative to you, I am.” You smiled slightly.

The bus arrived, granting you an escape from the awkward conversation, and you urged the two of them to get in.

"Payment.“ the bus driver stopped Yoongi.

"What? Is this not free?” Yoongi blinked.

The driver snorted. “Are you serious?”

"Umm…“ Yoongi lifted up his black credit card. "Can I swipe this?”

"We accept bills, coins, or the pre-paid bus passes.“ The driver pointed at the sign.

"What’s the hold up??” the passengers behind you were getting antsy.

"I’ll pay for the two of them!“ You peeked out with a big sigh.

The driver nodded and you swiped your bus pass three times. Then you found the two of them standing in the middle of the bus with wide eyes.

           "What’re you two doing?”

"Are there assigned seats?“ Yoongi questioned.

You looked at him amused. "No, sit wherever you want.”

"Where are the best seats?“ he questioned.

           You pointed. "The back row.”

"Go Leo! Acquire the back seats!“ Leo nodded and marched to the back.

His intimidating, expressionless face had the people occupying the seats scrambling out in mere seconds. You massaged your temples and sighed, apologizing to those passengers.

"It’s their first time. I’m sorry.”

Yoongi snuggled up next to the window and Leo protectively sat beside him. You opted to sit in front of them, not wanting to look like you were associated. At least you could try to find some sort of peace on the bus. You opened up the new book you were reading to teach yourself new things about economics and global marketing.

You felt Yoongi’s breath near your ear and you jumped, banging your head against the window by accidentally.

"Ah shit.” You cursed as you rubbed your head.

"She curses!“ Yoongi clapped excitedly. "I never thought I’d see the day!”

You glared at him. “People on the bus should be quiet.”

"I’m whispering.“ Yoongi grinned as he leaned close again. "Are you seriously reading that?”

           "Yes. Why shouldn’t I?“

"You’re just a secretary…why would you need to?”

"So I can cover my lazy boss’s neglected duties.“ You retorted.

Yoongi chuckled then switched places with Leo so he could cross his arms on the empty seat next to you. You raised an eyebrow at him questioningly.

"So you and Mr. Park, huh?” he smirked playfully.

You shook your head. “There is no me and Mr. Park. He’s taken.”

"Didn’t look so taken when I walked into the office?“ he pressed. "You have a thing for him.”

"I don’t see why that’s any of your business.“ You turned your attention back to your book. After a few minutes of him staring at you, he spoke up again.

"So I had someone find your resume for me.”

You sighed and shut the book dangerously; you couldn’t concentrate on it anyway.

           "That’s highly inappropriate, Mr. Min.“

Yoongi’s lips curled up, finally succeeding in getting your full attention.

"It’s only right that a CEO knows their workers well.”

"And?“ You questioned. "Find anything interesting?”

"Everything was interesting.“ he smiled as he nestled his head further into his arms, tilting it to look at you intently. "I could see why you dislike me.”

"Really?“ you stared at him, unconvinced. "My resume told you why I dislike you.”

"You’re just taking out your feelings about how unfair society is. Why was I born into a rich family and you a not-so rich family? It’s normal to feel jealous about that.“

You pursed your lips, trying not to get riled up. You weren’t jealous about his life at all. You were infuriated that he was given such opportunities but he took them all for granted.

"I dislike people who can’t appreciate what’s been granted to them.” You stated simply.

"And I dislike people who think they always know what’s best for others.“ he muttered in return.

You were about to protest but a new passenger took the seat beside you and Yoongi leaned back, closing his eyes. You stared at him for a few seconds before disregarding his statement and returning to your book.

"Last stop!” the driver called out and you lifted yourself off of the window pane, having fallen asleep on it.

You turned and shook Leo and Yoongi’s legs, jolting them awake.

           "We’re here.“ You yawned.

They followed you groggily. Leo was lifting two suitcases with no qualms, while Yoongi was swaying side to side, bumping into you constantly. You exhaled and paused before getting any closer to your home. You turned and gently smacked Yoongi’s cheeks to wake him up properly. He seemed to regain some of his consciousness and stared at you questioningly.

"Okay, so listen to me carefully.” You exhaled. “I have A LOT of family.”

"Okay…“ Yoongi furrowed his brows and covered your hands on his face with his own. "And?”

"They can get a little overwhelming and loud…so it might be shocking, but they’re all good people and they mean well. I apologize in advance but they’re a bit candid and kind of…free. Things are way different in the countryside than they are in the city. I don’t want to shock you two.“

Yoongi smiled and nodded understandably. He grabbed your hands off of his face and gave them a squeeze reassuringly. "I told you I’m adaptable. Don’t worry.”

Your lips curled up, still a little worried, but a bit relieved Yoongi was taking this so well.

"And well, things aren’t as clean and crisp as your apartment is…“

"I know what a farm is, Y/N.” Yoongi snorted. “Relax.”

"Okay. I’m just nervous.“ You admitted.

He grinned cheekily. "Cause I’m the first guy you’re bringing home?”

You rolled your eyes. “Shut it.”

"Did you just tell your boss to shut it?“ he playfully gasped.

A familiar voice exclaimed in the darkness.

           "Y/N’s here! Everyone!“

A small flashlight lit up and pointed towards you and Yoongi.

"And they’re holding hands! Mom, get the camera!”

You pried your hands away from Yoongi’s and rushed forward. “We’re not holding hands!”

"What? I totally just saw you!“ the taller, broad shouldered man cackled playfully.

"We were not! Stop slandering me!” You jumped up to reach for the flashlight, but to no avail. Suddenly, the flashlight was snatched away from the man’s grasp by Leo with ease and given to you without a word.

You smiled appreciatively at the bodyguard.

"Oh! It’s Leo!“ the man cheered.

           Leo bowed.

You turned to Yoongi and smiled, "This is my older brother Seokjin, but he acts like one of my younger siblings, so people always think I’m the oldest. Oppa, this is Mr. Min, my boss.”

"Just call me Yoongi.“ Yoongi reached out for a handshake.

"Jin.” Jin shook it then laughed. “Oh why’re we doing this? Come here!”

He pulled Yoongi into an embrace and you giggled at the pure shock that was displayed on your boss’s face.

"It’s so nice to meet you!“ Jin cooed. "Leo told me I’m older, so you can call me Jin-hyung!”

           "Um okay…“ Yoongi nodded.

           "Say it!” Jin urged.

           "Jin-hyung.“ Yoongi obliged shyly.

Jin clapped excitedly and wiggled his body. "I got a rich man to call me hyung!”

You smacked your forehead and shook your head.

"Anyways, let’s get inside the house. It’s getting chilly.“ Jin easily lifted the two suitcases and led you three down the dirt pathway. "Everyone’s so excited to meet you, Yoongi. We all stayed up.”

"You guys didn’t have to…“ You mumbled, shyly.

"He’s a guest Y/N. We can’t not greet him.” Jin cut in.

"Please don’t tell me they brought Bacon out too.“ You groaned.

"Bacon?” Yoongi furrowed his brows. “I’m not too hungry…”

           "Oh no–“ You laughed.

Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps and excited noises were rushing towards you three. You gasped as you watched Yoongi being tackled to the ground harshly.

"Holy crap. What is this on top of me?” he grunted as he tried to make out what it was in the dark.

You chuckled as you pointed the flashlight at him, causing him to scream loudly. On top of him lay a heavy piglet.

           "That’s Bacon.“

He frowned as he struggled to lift the piglet up. "That’s just cruel.”

"My cousin named him.“ You crouched down and took the piglet into your arms easily. "He’s a bit heavy huh?”

Yoongi scoffed as Leo lifted him to his feet.

"It was just hard to get leverage from the position I was in.“

You nodded, not buying his excuse for a second.

           "Mr. Min! ~”

You heard your mother call out as she stepped forward and hugged him warmly. “I’m glad you three made it here safely! Welcome!”

Yoongi smiled and bowed. “Thank you for having me on such short notice, Y/N’s mother.”

"Just call me 'Mom’.“ she patted his cheek lovingly.

"Mr. Min.” Your father stepped forward and they shook hands firmly.

"He’s a man of few words and plenty of action. If you know what I mean.“ Your mom winked.

Yoongi chuckled and you groaned. "Mom! Stop!”

"What?“ Your mom giggled. "Oh! Dears, come forward so Mr. Min can see you.”

You smiled as your siblings stepped forward into the light.

"Here’s my younger sister, the 3rd oldest. Then there’s a huge age gap and we have the twins.“

They all shyly bowed then stepped behind you to hide.

"My cousins should be around here too. Some of them are younger but there’s one that’s around our age who practically lives with us.” You looked around.

Jin chuckled. “Yeah, he was particularly excited to meet you.”

           "I’m here! I’m here! Sorry! I’m here!“

As if on cue, you all heard someone bellowing breathlessly, accompanied by scurrying footsteps.

"I’m here!” he panted, as he came to light. He coughed as he tried to catch his breath then stood up straight. Scanning the faces, his face lit up and he rushed towards Leo.

"You must be Mr. Min!“ he shook Leo’s hand enthusiastically. "I’ve heard such great things about you! I don’t know why Y/N told me you were short. You’re taller than me!”

Yoongi coughed and you averted your gaze guiltily.

"I’m actually Mr. Min.“ he smiled. "That’s my bodyguard Leo.”

"Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry! Wow, you’re a lot handsomer than Y/N gave you credit for.“ Your cousin scrambled over and grabbed Yoongi’s hand. "I’m Taehyung, Y/N’s cousin! Just call me Tae or Tae-Tae.”

He grinned widely, exposing his box grin. Yoongi smiled before being pulled into a tight hug once more.

"We’re going to be good friends. I can feel it!“ Tae wrapped his legs around Yoongi’s body and the latter frantically stumbled around, flapping his arms at the sudden extra weight on him.

"Tae!” You scolded and your cousin hurriedly jumped off of him.

"Sorry. Got too excited…“ he bashfully retreated.

"It’s okay.” Yoongi exhaled, realizing why you had warned him that it would be a bit overwhelming. But it was a good kind of overwhelming. He felt warmly welcomed. He bowed respectfully. “It’s great meeting you all. Please take care of me for the time being.”

"Don’t worry.“ Jin threw an arm around Yoongi. "You’ll be helping us out in the fields so we’ll all spend some quality time together!”

"Yeah, we have to feed you too. Look how scrawny you look.“ Your mother worried as she ushered everyone into your house.

"Wait, what? Helping out?” Yoongi blinked.

"Yeah, Leo told us your grandfather wanted to have you help us out on the farm to get you to build some character.“ Jin smacked Yoongi’s chest chummily. "We’ll definitely help you out. I’m your hyung after all. Although, you’re not as handsome as me, you’re still pretty good-looking!”

You sighed and glanced over at Leo, who was standing stiffly while Tae was circling him curiously.

"Tae…?“ You questioned then watched as Tae koala hugged Leo from the side.

"I like him.” Tae giggled. “He reminds me of a big kitty.”

           You chuckled, amused.

Leo blinked and looked down at Tae questioningly. The younger grinned widely at him so Leo simply patted his head gently, wondering if that was what Tae was waiting for. It seemed to satisfy the cousin because he climbed down and helped Leo with a suitcase.

You stayed behind the group, marching forward at a slow pace as you watched everyone fuss over the new guests with vigor. Thankfully, it was the weekend tomorrow so you didn’t have to think about work. But you were a bit worried about whether or not Yoongi would able to handle helping out at the farm.

           Oh well.

           You shrugged.

He did say he was adaptable and flexible after all.

Yoongi lay wide awake. He tossed and turned on the floor. Tae was on one side of him and Jin was on the other, sleeping soundly. He thought this had been some sort of empty room for him to fill during his stay, but it turned out to be the males’ bedroom. They simply laughed at him when he asked where their bed earlier. Leo was in his own corner of the room, also resting. He had told Yoongi he didn’t feel it was appropriate to sleep near his master so he insisted on sleeping apart.

"Ah this is crazy.“ he slipped out from the shared covers and stepped out of the room.

He wandered towards the kitchen where he spotted a dim light. Peeking in carefully, he exhaled in relief when he realized it was just you.

"Can’t sleep either?” he mumbled and felt a bit better seeing you flinch in your seat. Teasing you always eased him.

You turned and blinked. “Um yeah. You?”

"I guess I’m not used to the floor.“ Yoongi scratched his head.

"Sorry. My younger sister and the twins have the beds.” You smiled apologetically.

Yoongi shook his head as he took a seat. “No, don’t be sorry. I’m not complaining. I’ll get used to it in no time.”

"Want something to drink?“ You offered.

           "What do you have?”

"We make tea from scratch so I can pluck the leaves from the garden outside. If you want milk, I’ll go get the cow.“

He froze in his seat. You burst out laughing, probably at his horrified expression. He relaxed, realizing you were kidding.

"We do buy some groceries. Relax.” You stood up. “Tea sound good?”

"Yeah.“ he smiled, not expecting a joke from you.

You shuffled around the kitchen and he took a peek at what you were doing on the table. He recognized the planner that was always glued to your hand in the office. You were plotting out the next month already.

"Wow…” he marveled as he skimmed through the pages. “You really are crazy.”

You shot him a disapproving look that had him grinning.

"You even have the time you sleep scheduled??“ he pointed. "And shower?!”

You rushed over and snatched the planner away from him, obviously embarrassed. He smirked victoriously as you continued to tend to his tea without a word. Then he took the time to truly glance at you and found himself blushing. Long gone was your usual professional and uptight attire. You stood in front of him in a tattered and loose oversized shirt, and baggy basketball shorts. Your hair wasn’t up in a tight bun and primly pinned back as it had been earlier, it was now down, slightly wavy and relaxed.

"It’s not as good as Leo’s tea but yeah…“ your voice pulled him out of his thoughts; he realized only now that you were standing in front of him expectantly.

He blinked a few times to bring himself back to focus and after blowing on it a couple of times to cool it down, took small sip of the tea.

"It’s good.” he smiled and watched as your body relaxed with his approval. Then you went about to make yourself some. “So what’s a typical day around here like?”

           "What’s this, an interview?“

He smiled. "I’d like to know what I’m getting into.”

"Oh?“ he watched as you turned, a playful smirk splaying on your face. "I thought you were more of a 'figure it out as you go’ kind of guy.”

He sipped his tea, amused. “This is uncharted territory.”

"Interesting.“ You chuckled and took a seat beside him. "Well, in the morning, we get up when the roosters crow, which is when they spot the sunrise.”

He cringed at the thought of waking up before dawn.

"Then we collect the new eggs the chickens laid. Mom usually makes breakfast while the younger ones go feed the animals. The older ones set up the equipment to head into the field for the day. Then we milk the cows and herd the sheep into the fresh pastures to graze. We also lead the pigs to the outside pen. Then we go to the fields and in this season, we tend to the crops and pick those that are ready for harvest and collect them. Sometimes we clean the stables too depending on how bad it is, groom the animals. It varies on need.“

Yoongi rested his face on the table and glanced up at you. "Are you serious?”

"I’m serious.“ You smiled at him cheekily.

"And I HAVE to do this?”

"That’s up to you.“ you giggled. "But my family is very coercive.”

           He squinted at you skeptically.

"Oh.“ You clapped and stepped into one of the rooms, coming out with a large fluffy blanket. "Here. You can use this. You can curl yourself up in a ball like usual and it’ll kind of feel like a mattress underneath you.”

Yoongi reached out and grabbed it. It really was soft. He’d easily fall asleep with this hugging him.

"Wow, this is great. Where’d you get it?“

"Oh I made it.” You grinned proudly. “There’s lots of quality sheep wool inside the patterns.”

"Ahh.“ Yoongi remembered. "That’s why you so easily tailored my suits and stuff.”

"I’m a woman of many talents.“ You smiled smugly.

           Yoongi chuckled. "Thanks for this.”

"Go rest up. You’re going to need as much rest as you can get for tomorrow.“ You warned.

"I’m afraid so.” Yoongi stood up then glanced around. “Where do you sleep?”

"Oh.“ He saw a dust of pink cover your cheeks. "I sleep in the living room.”

He furrowed his brows and looked over at the living room which had a ragged couch, a rocking chair, and a couple of wooden chairs surrounding a small wooden table.

You smiled warmly and pushed him towards the boy’s room. "Get some rest, Mr. Min.”

He was trying to process where and how you were sleeping in that living room. Wasn’t it cold? Was it comfortable? But you had ushered him back into the room with ease and he soon found himself wrapped inside your handmade blanket beside Leo. He was comfortable next to him and he didn’t want his precious bodyguard to get cold. Plus, he wanted to see the man get flustered in the morning when he woke up beside him.

Obnoxious screeching and heavy footsteps against the floor pierce through Yoongi’s senses and stirred him awake. He groaned and reached his hand out, trying to find the source of the noise to turn it off. When he opened one eye, he found a bright pair of curious ones in front of his face. He gasped and stumbled away.

"Good morning!“ Tae grinned brightly. "You were like crawling but not really crawling just now. Were you having a dream?”

Yoongi glanced around. It was just him and Tae in the room. Where did Leo go?

"What is that noise?“ he covered his ears, the irregularly rhythmic screech still ongoing.

"Oh that’s the rooster.” Tae giggled. “He wakes us all up when the sun is starting to rise. That means it’s the start of a new day of work!”

"What?“ Yoongi curled himself inside the blanket, not wanting to believe that people actually were raring to go this early in the morning.

"Oh! That’s noona’s blanket ~” Tae pointed suggestively. “Did you two rendezvous last night??”

"Tae.“ Your voice echoed at the doorway.

Yoongi peeked out from his cocoon and spotted you in a pair of jeans and a flannel top, another casual look. Your hair was pulled back in a ponytail and you had your arms crossed as usual, wearing the stern look Yoongi was so familiar with. So was Tae apparently because he floated out of the room without complaints.

"Let’s go, Mr. Min. Jin laid out overalls for you to throw on, unless you want to wear your expensive leather jackets and hoodies to the barn.” You nudged his body with your foot. “I warned you that you’d have to wake up early.”

He groaned and rolled around. “Where’s Leo?”

"Oh, he went running with Jin. Said something about wanting to scan the perimeter for any dangers.“ You restated.

Yoongi exhaled and unrolled himself from the blanket. His hair was disheveled and his face felt undeniably puffy.

"Wash your face and let’s go. We have stuff to do. We’ll start you off easy.”

           "Define 'easy’?“ Yoongi groaned.

He caught you smirk as you took a step out of the room.

"We’re going to clean those dirty hoes you love so much.”

You stretched as you stepped out of your house, taking in the completely fresh air. It was one of the things you loved about still being home. It was like you got the best of both worlds–the bustling work life in the city and the relaxing weekend getaway feel of the countryside. During the week, you didn’t see your family much and they never urged you to help out before you left or after you got home. Most of your pay went to your siblings anyway, and you really didn’t mind. You liked encouraging them to dream big and giving them a safety net to do so.

"So where are these hoes?“ You heard Yoongi’s playful tone behind you and you grinned.

"Right this way, sir.” You motioned towards the shed, taking in how much he had to roll up Jin’s overalls because of their size difference.

He glared at you. “I told you not to call me that.”

You giggled and walked forward. He followed you.

Tae was sitting in the center of the shed with a rag, humming a tune while wiping down the tools in front of him.

"This isn’t hard, just tedious.“ You grabbed two fresh rags from the pile and chucked one at Yoongi. "We just clean them so they don’t rust and they’re all still effective when we take them out.”

"Gotcha.“ Yoongi glanced around. "Are there chairs?”

           You and Tae snickered.

"Come sit by me, hyung.“ Tae patted the floor beside him.

Yoongi did so and watched how Tae was doing it, mimicking his motions.

Tae laughed. "There’s no wrong way…just wipe it.”

"He’s probably never had to clean anything before.“ You mentioned as you sat down in front of Yoongi.

"So he doesn’t even wipe his own butt?” Tae stared at Yoongi in awe.

           "Tae!“ You blushed.

"No.” Yoongi whispered playfully. “Someone else does it for me.”

Tae gasped and gave him a thumbs up. “You’re my hero!”

You rolled your eyes at how gullible your cousin was.

Tae continued to ask Yoongi questions about his life in the city and about rich people. Yoongi didn’t seem to mind answering them. He’d add a story or two in there, which had Taehyung laughing without sound at how funny it was. You listened in, trying to hold back your own laughter. You still wanted to remain composed in front your boss after all.

Suddenly Bacon and a beautiful large dog came running into the shed excitedly.

"Soonshim! Bacon!“ Tae opened his arms and the animals ran into his embrace.

Yoongi glanced over at you curiously and you smiled.

           "Tae’s an animal whisperer.”

"Ah.“ he raised his eyebrows, impressed.

"He works as a vet in a small animal clinic nearby while he finishes up school.” You disclosed.

"Do they really have large hospitals JUST for animals in Seoul?“ Tae’s wide eager eyes had both you and Yoongi laughing.

"Yeah. I know of a few.” Yoongi mentioned.

"REALLY?“ Tae jumped up, causing Bacon to fall off his lap. "THAT’S LIKE MY DREAM!”

"Is it?“ Yoongi looked up at him, amused.

You watched Tae and Yoongi chat with each other with ease.

           "What about Y/N?”

You tuned in when your name was mentioned. “Hm?”

Tae grinned, speaking for you. “She wants to be a CEO one day, and be a cool business woman. When she was young, she would stick wooden sticks under her slippers and pretend she was wearing high heels.”

You blushed, flustered by the way Yoongi was grinning at you fondly.“T-tae, you can’t just tell other people about my dream!”

"What about you, hyung?“ Tae chimed.

Yoongi’s face turned blank and he hummed. "I’m not actually sure…”

Sensing Tae had accidentally hit a land mine, you stood up quickly. “I think these look clean now. How about we help out with collecting eggs?”

"Yes!! I love egg hunting!“ Tae sprung up excitedly and hurried out.

"Here.” You reached for Yoongi’s freshly cleaned tool and he obliged.

"So umm…how do we go about collecting the eggs? Is there some contraption that rolls them down?“ he questioned.

You laughed, "No. We’re going to take them right from the chickens.”

His eyes threatened to leave its sockets. “What??”

You had to drag him to the chicken coop by gripping tightly on his arm.

"Y/N. You should know I don’t like touching most animals. Dogs are fine. Even Bacon is good. But chickens…chickens are dangerous. So are cows. Cows are the DEVIL. And horses! They can all kill. They’re going to take vengeance on the human race and kill us all.“

You rolled your eyes as you pulled him into the coop. Your young twin siblings were giggling as they chased the chickens around, providing a distraction so your younger sister and Tae can snatch up their eggs.

"If my 7 year old siblings can do it, your grown ass can get in there.” You encouragingly pushed him forward. “Tae, give Mr. Min some gloves.”

Tae glanced up with a blank expression. “Who’s Mr. Min?”

You exhaled and pointed at the man next to you, “Min Yoongi. Yoongi.”

Yoongi felt his lips curl up into a smile at hearing you say his first name for once.

"Oh! Right!“ Tae bounced up and got him thick gloves. "Now you have to time it perfectly. The chickens will peck you if you don’t do it right.”

Yoongi gulped and took in a deep breath as he pulled the gloves over his hands. You bit your lip, trying not to crack up at his transparent nervousness. He was usually so relaxed and displayed an air of confidence, like nothing could faze him. But here he was, yielding to a coop full of chickens.

You watched him with amusement as he cautiously padded inside with Tae. The twins and your younger sister were watching him curiously. He gripped onto Tae’s sleeve anxiously and yelled out whenever a chicken skidded by. You covered your mouth out of respect, but the entire scene was hysterical.

"It’s okay, hyung. You can do it.“ Tae encouraged. "Twins, do your thing.”

The 7 year olds nodded and ran around chasing the chickens playfully, clearing the section with Yoongi.

"Like this, Mr. Min.“ Your younger sister smiled warmly and showed him how to pick up the egg. "Put them in those crates outside of the fence.”

"I’ll hold them up for you.“ You offered and lifted the egg crate up.

Yoongi inhaled and exhaled as he crouched down, keeping an obvious close eye on the chickens, like he was doing something illegal. With a yelp, he grabbed the egg and waddled over to you, holding the one egg delicately and as far from his body as possible, like it was a ticking toxic gas bomb.

"Good job, Mr. Min.” You cooed, causing him to shoot you a glare at your obvious sarcasm. “Only a lot more eggs to go.”

You spotted the look of terror in his face, as he spotted the amount of eggs that had been laid on the ground.

"Don’t worry. With us three, we can get it done before breakfast is done!“ Tae cheered. "Let’s go, go, go!”

Tae and your younger sister began humming a song and continued their work. Yoongi looked at you pleadingly, and you shrugged nonchalantly, enjoying this newfound power over him.

"Why aren’t you doing work?“ he pointed.

"I’m supervising so you don’t slack of like usual, Mr. Min.” You retorted.

He scrunched his face at you in disapproval then stretched his back and legs, getting ready to crouch down along with the other two.

"I’ll show these chickens.“ he hummed.

"Yes, Mr. Min. Turn up!” Tae exclaimed as Yoongi finally started picking up the eggs carefully and hurried his way to you to drop them off.

You quite enjoyed seeing the adorable way he scurried back and forth, with a look of both astonishment and worry on his face whenever he succeeded in picking up an egg unscathed.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!“ He yelled whenever a chicken ran astray and close to him.

He tiptoed away from it and soon the chickens were attracted to his odd little dance.

           "Get away from me! Gah!”

The twins giggled and grabbed his hands on either side.

           "You’re funny, Mister.“

           "They won’t hurt you.”

You watched as Yoongi stiffly stood in the middle of the crowd of chickens pecking at his boots with his eyes screwed shut. You laughed and entered to coop, figuring you should help him out, since it was his first time and all.

"Come here Mr. Min.“ You pulled him away and gestured for the twins to grab food for the chickens.

"Here ~” the twins handed you the bird feeder bag.

           "What’s that?“

"Since you’re so popular with chickens, I figured you could help feed them.” You smiled.

"No. No thank you. Absolutely not.“

An obnoxious laugh erupted from the entrance causing everyone to look over.

"Are you…chickening out Yoongi?” Jin cracked a joke, but no one reacted and went about their business.

Jin laughed at himself and nudged Leo beside him. “Eh. Eh. That was funny! Cause he’s in the chicken coop!”

Leo pursed his lips in an attempt to hide his amusement, but couldn’t stop himself from laughing along.

"See? I made him laugh!“ Jin interjected.

"Cause he’s laughing AT you, not with you, Oppa.” Your younger sister emphasized.

"Hand.“ You showed Yoongi your palm and he reluctantly mirrored you. You placed a handful of seeds into his palm and then in your own. Kneeling down, you whistled to get the chicken’s attention and slowly, they bobbed their way over to your hand. You pulled at Yoongi’s jeans to urge him to crouch down. With a nervous sigh, he did.

"Ah!” he whined as their beaks dipped into his palm. “They’re attacking me!”

You rolled your eyes. “They’re eating, Mr. Min.”

"Their beaks! My skin is going to be ripped!“ he dramatically complained.

"This ajhussi is funny.” One of the twins stood beside him.

"And his hair reminds me of cotton candy.“ the other smiled. "Will it taste like it too?”

"No.“ You scolded and eyed the two troublesome youngsters.

They reached out, petting Yoongi’s hair innocently.

"Fluffy.” They giggled then went to play with Tae who was dancing around with two eggs in his palm, clearly in his own little world.

"If you’re like this with the chickens, you’ll be ten times funnier with the rest of the animals.“ You snorted.

           "The rest?” Yoongi cried.

"Maybe we’ll just have you herd the sheep for today.“ You smirked as you stood up and wiped your hands clean. "Before you help out at the field, that is.”

He groaned then screamed when a chicken nipped at his empty palm. In a flash, he was scrambling to stand up.

"I’ll have you know I ate your cousins fried!“ He retaliated childishly towards the chickens.

Everyone in the barn was roaring with laughter at his comment. He looked around, puzzled at first, but then he grinned widely as he took a good look at everyone heartily enjoying themselves. This definitely wasn’t boring way to spend time.

But herding sheep for Min Yoongi wasn’t any easier.

On the flip side, it was even more entertaining for everyone. Your parents even took out the camera just to record him running away as fast he could from the sheep frolicking after him. You learned that he was an insanely speedy runner, for someone who didn’t like doing much all day. In the end, Leo and Tae had to come in and save him while you properly herded the sheep into the fresh pasture.

You walked back into the house after washing your hands, the scent of freshly cooked eggs and bacon filling your nostrils. Your family shot you suggestive glances as you entered the kitchen, and you realized they all had left a seat open beside Yoongi. You rolled your eyes and took a seat, unaffected.

"I’m not sure how I feel about this.” Yoongi frowned as he stared at his plate then at Bacon who was eating something in the corner. “How do you all not turn vegetarian?”

Tae giggled. “Because it tastes good.”

Yoongi nodded in agreement. “Thank you for the food, Mrs. Y/L/N.”

"Dear, I told you to call me Mom.“ your mom smiled as she sat down, wiping her freshly washed hands on her apron.

"Thanks…mom.” Yoongi blushed and you smiled slightly, remembering how he had lost his own parents at a young age. It must be weird for him to call someone that after all these years.

Your mom grinned and threw more bacon on his plate lovingly. “Now eat up. Feel free to get seconds and thirds. Tae and Jin always do. There’s enough for everyone to get several helpings.”

"You’ll need it.“ You bantered. "Today’s probably the most activity I’ve ever seen you do.”

"Yeah, I could eat a whole cow.“ he answered lightly.

"I thought cows were the devil.” You grinned playfully.

"I could still eat them.“ he shrugged.

You caught Tae smirk and wiggle his eyebrows at you from across the table. Embarrassed, you kicked his leg underneath.

"OW!” Jin cried out. “Who kicked me?!”

You and Tae looked away, feigning innocence, while everyone else continued to ravage away at their meal.

After breakfast, you left Yoongi and Leo in Jin, Tae, and your father’s care, while you tended to your own duties with your mom and sisters. When you all reconvened for dinner later that day, Yoongi looked like he had gone through war and back. His face was gaunt and weak, and he was slightly stumbling on his own feet. Leo guided him firmly into the house.

"What did you do to him?“ You mused as Yoongi retreated to the bedroom without a word.

"Well we carried things here and there. Did the usual harvesting routine. He helped out, but struggled. He’s not used to heavy lifting it seems so his muscles are probably shot.” Jin frowned worriedly. “Hopefully he’s okay. We tried to take it easy today, but we do have a schedule.”

"It’s okay.“ You chuckled. "I’m sure he’s just resting. He’ll be okay.”

"Honey, here.“ Your mom handed you a packet. "Put these medicinal patches on his back to soothe the muscles.”

You exhaled. “Why don’t Tae and Jin do it?”

"No way.“ Tae giggled and shoved the patches into your hands. "I’m sure he’d rather have you ~ do it.”

"Don’t do anything. It’s still our bedroom.“ Jin warned.

"Like I’d do anything! Pfft.” You rolled your eyes and stormed into the room, to hide your growing blush. You were sure your whole family meeting was heard by Yoongi on the other side of the wall. But when you found him, snoring, face-down on the ground, in just his boxers, you thanked the lucky stars he didn’t.

"Good work today, Mr. Min.“ You mumbled as you knelt beside him, pressing the patches onto the tensed muscles of his back.

He groaned as you pushed down on his knots, stirring awake. "Y/N.”

You blushed. “Sorry, did I wake you?”

You showed him the herb patches. “I just wanted to make sure I was putting them where it’s most tense.”

"I’m so exhausted.“ he yawned. "How are you still functioning?”

You smiled. “I’m used to it I guess. I was raised doing this.”

He sat up groggily. “But I’m also starving, so I’m glad you woke me up.”

           "Dinner’s almost ready.“

He spun around, showing his back to you, allowing you to place the patches on him more easily.

"Can you massage my shoulders?“ he requested. "I feel like I’m wearing shoulder pads.”

You chuckled and kneaded your fingers against his skin, trying not to think about how he was only wearing one thin piece of fabric in front of you. Your mind instead wandered to how soft his skin felt, smooth like a baby’s, and glowingly white, like the fresh milk you had gather earlier today.

You realized that his body had grown limp under your touch and he was no longer grunting at the pain. You peeked over and found him sound asleep, with his head hanging down carelessly. You smiled to yourself as you eased him down onto his pillow. But he shivered and rolled over, trying to find some sort of warmth, which so happened to be your lap. You inhaled sharply at the contact as he nuzzled his head comfortably. His hands were gripping the side of your jeans tightly.

           "Um…“ You bit your lip.

His mouth hung open and soft snoring was soon heard; his body rising and falling rhythmically. You yawned, watching him made you feel sleepy too.

After a few minutes, your legs started tingling. They were asleep and when you went to shift your position, you felt pins and needles shoot all over your leg. You winced and hurriedly shook Yoongi awake. He shot up urgently from your hurried shakes.

"What? What?” he frantically looked around the room.

"My legs… my legs are asleep.“ You whined.

"Oh shit.” he realized that it was because of him and scrambled to lay a hand on your leg.

"AHHH!“ You screamed as he slowly moved your legs from underneath you.

You gripped at his shirt, tears forming in your eyes. It was painful, but it also slightly tickled. You weren’t sure how to react.

"Lay back. I’ll massage it.” he instructed worriedly.

You covered your eyes so he couldn’t see that you were starting to cry and got on your back. He lifted your leg and massaged your calves roughly, making you yell out again.

Suddenly, the door burst open and your hand flew away from your face, realizing what the entire situation might look like. Yoongi was still half naked to make matters worse.

You were horrified as you found your older brother, Jin, standing at the door in pure shock, his eyes wide and his mouth parted. Leo was beside him nodding approvingly, his face unchanging as always.

"Oppa… I…“ You stammered to explain.

Then Tae appeared beside Jin curiously and his face oppositely turned into a seductive grin.

           "Ooo la la~” he giggled.

"Tae…“ You tried to sound threatening but your heart raced worriedly at what mischievous thought had run through his mind.

"Auntie! ~ GET THE BABY CRIBS BACK OUT! YOU GON’ BE A G-MA!” Tae announced happily.

You groaned and covered your face in shame while Yoongi slowly lay down and rolled himself silently into his blanket cocoon.

This was going to be a looongg punishment.

Ranking OUAT’s Villain Redemptions

10. Mr. Gold / Rumpelstiltskin - What redemption!?  Rumple was an out-and-out villain in S1, and he didn’t truly change at all in S2 no matter how often he publicly restrained himself to appease Belle.  S3 was the only time he made an honest effort at redemption, but it was fraught with failures, temptation, doubt and relapses into asshole behavior.  The only thing that made it succeed was that it occurred in a very specific set of ideal circumstances…and that Rumple died at the end of it all.  After being resurrected and losing his son, Rumple quickly regressed into the villainy he’s comfortable with, becoming the Big Bad of S4.  In S5, we had that brief “hero Gold” arc that was not only morally insulting and nonsensical, but also pointless since he ends up choosing to become the Dark One again by the end of it…the Darkest Dark One, in fact, who is thoroughly unpleasant up until the very end of S6, where - after being faced with the consequences of his own evil actions, consequences that include the potential destruction of the entire multiverse - he does the right thing once, which leads to Belle taking him back, allowing him to help raise their son, and him getting accepted at the big family dinner by all of his victims. What the actual fuck!?  That’s not a redemption - Rumple hasn’t repented of his evil ways, he hasn’t given up his dark powers, he hasn’t sacrificed one damn thing, and he only did something good after his own evildoing backfired on him. He is literally responsible for the crisis he helped resolve.  And yet he gets rewarded with his own “happy beginning” with his abused wife and helpless infant son?  Fuck off, A&E.

9. Regina Mills / The Evil Queen - I technically consider Regina to have the worst redemption on the show since I refuse to accept Rumple as even having a redemption. Regina’s first attempt at redemption happened quickly into S2, some may argue too quickly. While it seemed to be going well at first, it soon became apparent that she was only doing it in order to regain custody over Henry rather than out of any true remorse or desire to change. The moment something goes wrong for her, she turns evil again, and ends up being even more heinous a bitch than she was before.  If the show had been operating under any logic, Regina should have been considered irredeemable at this point.  But instead, she is given another chance, and for most of S3 she does a surprisingly good job…until the last five episodes, where her redemption is suddenly fasts-forwarded so that she receives all the rewards she has not yet done anything to deserve: a new boyfriend, easy reconciliation with Snow and with Henry, a True Love’s Kiss with Henry that breaks the Dark Curse, light magic out of nowhere that defeats her previously more powerful sister, and the complete trust and forgiveness of the entire town despite her past victimization of them. But then one thing goes wrong for her, and while she resists falling back into full-on villainy, she still returns to being a whiny, spiteful, self-pitying woman-child who is always looking for the easy way to get what she wants and occasionally does do evil things to achieve this, yet is paradoxically treated by the rest of the cast as a messianic saint, someone who has come so far and worked so hard and deserves her happy ending, with the narrative frequently giving her all of the big hero moments at Emma’s expense.  In fact, much of her development comes at Emma’s expense, since A&E clearly see her as the true star of the show.  And that show just isn’t any fun to me.

8. Cora Mills / The Queen of Hearts - This one is just bizarre. Cora was a villain of the highest order all the way up to her death, where she had a dying epiphany as to where she went wrong in regards to her daughter.  But for some reason, her death is treated as such a tragedy and as such a source of guilt for Snow (not how she killed Cora, no, just that she killed Cora at all) that one would think Cora redeemed herself before her death, which just isn’t so.  Things got iffier when Cora showed up in the Underworld during 5B, and after doing one good deed in reconciling with her daughters and getting them to reconcile with each other, she is allowed to go to Heaven.  While I personally find this acceptable since Cora actually did repent of her villainy and fully acknowledge that she would deserve to go to Hell if that was her fate, I can see why many would be bugged about one of the most evil villains in the show’s history being shown going to Heaven while other characters higher above her on the moral scale - Milah, Gaston, Auntie Em, and even Prince James in the same episode - are condemned to the River of Lost Souls.  When put into that context, it seems less like a good lesson on divine mercy and more a case of creator favoritism toward the character. Cora probably should have just remained in the Underworld to continue her redemption.

7. Maleficent & Ursula - Two thirds of the Queens of Darkness (the other one, Cruella, was an irredeemable sociopath in life and in death), both of them have things that work about their redemption and things that don’t work.  For Ursula, her redemption comes when, after Hook brings her father Poseidon to town who restores her singing voice, she realizes that her true happy ending wasn’t recovering that but reconciling with her father, who is now repentant of his past patriarchal abuse of her.  This is all well and good, but Ursula really didn’t do all that much evil for the redemption to be powerful.  She always came off as lost and confused and hanging out with the wrong crowd, not truly villainous.  And then there’s Maleficent, who has the opposite problem.  Her happy ending is also reuniting with a family member, her long-lost daughter Lily.  It’s sweet and touching, but it also glosses over all of Maleficent’s established villainy.  Maleficent cursed people, burned people alive, destroyed a village, was deemed as having the greatest potential for darkness by a Chernabog, but none of it matters in the end. Even her sworn vendetta against Snow and Charming (whom were made to look like villains and Maleficent their victim) is abruptly dropped and she’s suddenly getting along with them. It’s pretty much Regina’s bullshit redemption but on a mercifully smaller scale.  Since Maleficent did not actually repent of her evildoing, the show should have treated her character accordingly - as still a villain and a potential threat, but also a loving mother.  At the end, she’d be the gray-shading which is complimented by Ursula’s white and Cruella’s black.

6. Tinkerbell - Aside from the villain-to-hero journeys of Regina, Rumple and Hook in 3A, we also got Tinkerbell, who was an ex-fairy turned trusted partner of Peter Pan.  The Nevengers persuade her to help them, but only if there’s something in it for her (namely, leaving Neverland and being able to confront the Blue Fairy about getting her wings back).  In the end, inspired by Regina and Hook’s progress, Tink learns to believe in herself and earns her fairy status back.  It’s a nice little arc, but it’s missing one crucial detail - the nature of her villainy.  We never see her and Pan interact, we never learn exactly what kind of work she did for him to make him trust her so much.  We see that she’s a scavenger who is prone to violence, but that’s it.  Wendy, Pan’s longtime prisoner, is friends with her, so she couldn’t have been all that bad.  This lack of clarity undermines what is otherwise a good redemption.

5. Zelena Mills / The Wicked Witch -  For the most part, Zelena’s redemption in S5 and S6 really works.  She was never as bad as Regina, so already her changing is more believable. When she realizes that her wicked lifestyle is actually harmful to her baby daughter, she allows Regina and Robin to take her in order to keep her safe.  She doesn’t join Hades despite him professing his love for her until she thinks she can use her own love for him to redeem him.  And when it becomes apparent that it won’t and never will, Zelena kills him in order to protect her sister and everyone else in Storybrooke.  When Regina is an ungrateful bitch and blames her for Robin’s death, Zelena is ostracized from everyone else.  But even when the Evil Queen comes along and tempts her to return to her wicked roots, Zelena keeps firmly out of the conflict, preferring to remain a neutral party for her baby’s sake until her hand is forced and she joins the side of good despite it not really getting her anything and no hero save for Belle caring much for her.  This commitment to doing the right thing comes to a head when she actually sacrifices her magic, the thing she’d defined herself by for so long, to help stop the Black Fairy, a sacrifice Regina should have made long ago but never did. After this, the other heroes fully embrace her as one of their own.  It’s a great redemption, but there is one snag - Robin, both the man and the baby named after him.  The baby Zelena conceived through deceiving Robin into thinking she was Marian.  By - let’s not mince words here - raping him.  It’s not quite as bad as Regina with Graham, especially since Zelena didn’t kill Robin and Robin was willing to give her a second chance of his own volition prior to his death, but it’s still rape all the same, and to have the rape victim die while the rapist keeps the baby is extremely squicky, no matter how surprisingly good a mother Zelena may be. This one aspect casts a shadow over Zelena’s redemption and it never should have happened.

4. King Arthur - Arthur was a villain in 5A, a corrupt monarch obsessed with fulfilling his destiny and ruling over Camelot at all costs.  While despicable, Arthur was also somewhat sympathetic too, as he became more evidently pathetic as the arc went on and Merlin really did screw him up by filling his head with visions of a future he felt the need to achieve.  In the climax of 5B, Arthur escapes prison only to be promptly murdered by Hades.  Down in the Underworld, Hook confronts Arthur with the truth: he was a terrible king and will probably go to Hell if he doesn’t do something to atone.  Note that at first this is the reason why Arthur helps Hook in his quest for the book: he just wants to avoid the consequences of his villainy.  But as the episode goes on, a clear change in Arthur can be seen as he sees the depth of Hook’s feelings for Emma, his bravery and his nobility…in this lowly pirate, Arthur sees the man he had wanted to be and failed to become, making him feel true remorse.  Arthur then becomes invested in the quest to the point where he is willing to sacrifice himself to the River of Lost Souls so that Hook can get to the book.  And at the end, when a doorway to Heaven is open and Arthur has the chance to go through it, which was the whole reason he joined Hook on this quest at the start, he declines and opts to stay in the Underworld, to rule it as a benevolent king and make it a better place, which a short on the S5 DVD shows that he did indeed do.  In just one episode, Arthur had one of the best redemptions on the show, from a selfish cad to a noble hero.  While like Zelena, he also has a rape-like situation with Guinevere that remains untouched upon (he used magic dust on her to keep her from leaving him and turn her into his compliant wife), there was no confirmation of actual rape and even some proof against it (he was too consumed by his obsession with Exaclibur to do anything romantic for Guinevere, let alone sexual), so it’s not quite as harmful to his redemption.

3. Ingrid / The Snow Queen - Ingrid is an even better example of a great redemption being accomplished in just one episode.  Despite being terrifying, prejudiced and insane, Ingrid was also one of the most tragic and sympathetic villains to ever be on the show, with an absolutely heartbreaking backstory and her sole motivation being to have a family who loves her.  She cast the Shattered Sight spell in order to make everyone in Storybrooke kill each other save for Emma and Elsa, who would become her new sisters, but when Anna shows her a letter from her sister Gerta expressing remorse for imprisoning her and confirming that she still loved her, Ingrid realizes the error of her ways.  In one of the best redemptive villain lines in the series, she says “I am a monster. Not because of my powers, but because of what I let them turn me into!”  She then reverses the spell at the cost of her own life, telling Emma, Elsa and Anna that they are all amazing people and that she is proud of them, then saying that her happy ending will be to join her sisters in death.  The whole scene is acted and scored beautifully, and I can’t help but cry anytime I see it.  By acknowledging what she did wrong and accepting responsibility for it, Ingrid is one of the show’s best redeemed villains.

2. Anastasia / The Red Queen - One of the two main villains of Once Upon in Wonderland, Anastasia quickly began to look more appealing, sympathetic and redeemable in contrast to the monstrous villainy of Jafar.  Her main crimes, apart from aiding him, were giving up love for power and being a neglectful ruler to her people…and she was helping Jafar in the hopes of getting to change the past so that she never did any of that.  When this failed and it became clear that she wasn’t going to be able to take the easy way out, Anastasia gave up on her aspirations and finally took full responsibility for being a terrible queen, vowing to make it up to the people of Wonderland by fighting to save them from Jafar, a fight that she stuck through even when it got her tortured by the Jabberwocky and then murdered by Jafar. In the end, her redemption earned her life, being revived by the water from the Well of Wonders, and won her back the love of Will Scarlet.  Years later, she is still ruling Wonderland but now as the White Queen, who actively works to bring love, hope and joy to her people. Anastasia’s redemption is everything that Regina’s is not, with her being fully self-aware of her villainy, truly remorseful of her actions once she starts her redemption, and with purely altruistic motives - doing the right thing just because it’s the right thing and she wants to help make amends for her past mistakes.  Add in Emma Rigby’s performance and it’s nigh-perfect.

1. Killian Jones / Captain Hook - Hook’s redemption starts at the very end of S2, inspired by his regrets for failing Baelfire long ago and not wanting to do the same with his son Henry, putting aside his desire for revenge in favor of doing the right thing.  He had everything to gain by not making this decision, but he does so anyway.  Throughout 3A, he does an admirable job helping the heroes through Neverland and returning to being the honorable man he was long ago, although his motives aren’t entirely pure as he hopes to woo Emma. When he is separated from Emma and gives up hope of reuniting with her, he tries to go back to his villainous pirate ways, but is overcome with remorse after doing so, realizing that his time with Emma changed him to the point where it’s not just for her that he wants to reform for, but for himself too.  When he learns that Emma’s family is in danger and that he must find her and get her to go help them, he trades the Jolly Roger - and his home, crew, livelihood and reputation along with it - in order to do so.  He continues to do good not to “get into Emma’s pants” but to ensure her happiness regardless of whether she ever returns his feelings, and to be the hero he now sincerely wants to be. His redemption comes to a climax in S5, where he becomes evil again after Emma forces the Darkness upon him to save his life, and is once again put into a position where he’d gain everything he wants by following through on his villainy, but remembering that this is not the man he wants to be, he once again does the heroic thing instead, at the cost of his own life.  In the Underworld, Hook learns the value of self-forgiveness and accepts the possibility of a second chance at life, but when it looks like this is impossible, he promises Emma to move on to Heaven when she asks him too.  Unable to do so until his unfinished business of helping Emma defeat Hades is resolved, Hook has a heroic quest alongside Arthur where he proves just how far he’s come, and when he goes into the light to fulfill his pledge to Emma at the end of it, he is instead resurrected by Zeus, deeming him a True Hero worthy of being reunited with his True Love.

Hook’s redemption is superb not just because of the events that transpire and his growth throughout it, but because of his overall attitude toward the whole thing.  He knows full well that he was a villain, is remorseful for every crime he committed and takes full responsibility for them, and whenever the chance to make things right with someone he wronged comes up, he takes it.  It takes a long time for him to fully get past his self-loathing for his past sins, as he doesn’t feel entitled to happiness just because he’s changed and is doing heroic deeds now, as opposed to Regina, Rumple and initially Zelena who all believed themselves entitled to a happy ending, their crimes and victims be damned.  And lastly, also unlike them, every privilege that Hook has by the end of the series he has earned through his own hard work at redeeming himself.  He has no leftovers from anything he gained as a result of his villainy, even the rings on his fingers have changed from ones that belonged to dead victims to new ones he presumably fairly bought.  His new wife and family, his friendships with others, his house, his ship, his job as deputy sheriff, his very life…all thanks to his heroism and the good karma it rewarded him with.  All of this is why Hook’s redemption is truly the series’ finest.

In a Name 30

Ok, as promised, I will not say it’s bad because I don’t think it’s bad per say, it just doesn’t seem right and I can’t place my finger exactly on what seems wrong. But also, I really really need suggestions on how to finish it because I don’t feel like writing a wedding and smut seems out of place in this story (it’s kinda child er ish friendly). So yea, if you have any ideas or suggestions, totally message me, I appreciate it!

In this post , I was saying that I love post-movie fics where Gaston survives, Lefou is angry and hurt at his betrayal, and Gaston is sorry and has to really work to earn his forgiveness and rebuilt that trust.

So, here are some recs for that trope. :)

La Rose Cachee

In this fic, Gaston dies in the fall. Agathe sees his body and thinks to herself that he totally deserved it, and she’s just going to leave. But then she senses someone nearby (Lefou, obviously) who is worried about him and looking for him, and she’s so surprised that she reaches her mind out further and is amazed to find that Lefou LOVES him. She can’t imagine how such an undeserving, selfish, narcissistic man earned anyone’s love, but there it is. So she decides to give him a chance, just for Lefou’s sake. She does a spell that bring him back to life, but only for two weeks. She tells him that someone truly loves him, and he has two weeks to figure out who it is, and awaken the answering love in his own heart that he’s been denying. :) If he succeeds, the spell is permanent and he gets to live. If he fails, the spell expires in two weeks and he dies.

Since he’s an oblivious moron, he goes to Lefou and says “There’s a woman out there who loves me - you have to help me figure out who it is!” Lefou is conflicted because although he’s obviously glad Gaston is alive, he’s also VERY angry at Gaston for betraying him in the battle. But since Gaston’s going to die without his help, he reluctantly helps him, but he also doesn’t want to get sucked back into that unhealthy relationship. So he’s trying to protect his heart. Meanwhile, Stanley likes Lefou, and Lefou is trying to move on with him because that IS a healthier relationship, but it’s hard when Gaston is RIGHT THERE. And Gaston is hurt that Lefou is angry at him and being kind of cold to him, and he feels bad, and he’s jealous that Lefou seems to be warming up to Stanley. So it’s lots of good stuff, and Gaston definitely is NOT let off the hook for what he did to Lefou and is going to have to work hard to get him back. It’s incomplete, but very promising so far. :)

  An Opportunity Curse

This one IS complete, and it’s SO adorable and sweet and satisfying. In this one, Agathe curses Gaston to be blind and mute until he can learn to love someone and earn their love in return. (The author said that she decided to make Gaston mute because it would force him to shut up and LISTEN for once in his life! :) ) He’s also injured from the fall, but not lethally (he has a broken leg and stuff like that). In this one, Lefou isn’t cold and angry, just really hurt and sad at what Gaston did, and feeling like he can’t trust him and that he deserves better than how Gaston treated him. So he’s hesitant to help him, but Gaston is really helpless and needs help, and he does love Gaston, so he helps him and takes care of him. Gaston comes to realize how totally amazing Lefou is and how much Lefou has done for him that he never appreciated, and he IS really sorry, and realizes he loves Lefou. But he can’t TALK, and he can’t write a note because Lefou is illiterate, so it’s a struggle, and there are misunderstandings. But it’s a REALLY sweet, adorable story.

( EDIT: “Howl” is now also on AO3 here: )

This one isn’t solely a shipping fic - there’s a lot of cool plot stuff going on and lots of characters included. But it is SO AMAZING and everyone needs to go read it RIGHT NOW! In this fic, the wolves in the forest are really werewolves under the control of an evil female werewolf. She finds Gaston dying, and turns HIM into a werewolf and makes him part of her pack. At first, he’s just living as a wolf, with very primitive animal thoughts, and in a way it suits him, because he’s always been very primal and physical-oriented and not really thought-oriented. But then he comes across Villeneuve and remembers who he is, and is horrified at what he’s become, and he wants to escape and go home. But it’s hard, not only because of the evil female werewolf, but also because after being a wolf for so long, he’s become more animalistic and is losing his humanity (much like the Beast in the original 1991 film).

Meanwhile, Lefou is grieving Gaston’s supposed death, but also very conflicted, because he’s angry and hurt that Gaston betrayed him, and he never got any closure on their relationship - he never got to confront Gaston angrily over what he did, or tell him they’re not friends anymore, or conversely, have Gaston explain and apologize. So he has a lot of conflicted feelings, and he’s grieving. But little by little he’s coping, and Stanley is being very sweet and comforting and wanting to have a relationship with him, and Lefou isn’t quite ready, but he hopes he will be soon.

So Gaston escapes and heads back to Villeneuve, hoping Lefou will help him. It’s still in-progress, but the author writes both characters SOOOO well, and since she emphasized so much how angry and hurt Lefou is, and since it’s tagged “eventual Gafou,” I trust her to do a great job with Gaston’s redemption and their reconciliation. :)

Now, I have another fic to rec that is NOT in this trope and isn’t even Gafou, but I still want to rec it and I’ll explain why:

  A Change in Me

Now, this is a Stanfou fic, and not only that, it’s an AU where there’s no Beast and none of the castle stuff happened at all. So why am I reccing it? Because I swear, this fic, above all that I have ever read, does the most AMAZING job of really exploring the dynamics of Gaston and Lefou’s friendship in all its psychological complexity - the good aspects, the problematic and unhealthy aspects, the reason they both need each other, the ways they’re NOT good for each other…it’s just the most amazing and realistic and in-character characterization I’ve ever seen.

The premise is that Gaston is depressed over Belle’s rejection, so Lefou is doing everything he can to keep his spirits up, but it’s hard because he’s drinking a lot and is spiraling out of control. Stanley sees this and says to Lefou “You’re always taking care of him. But who takes care of YOU?” So gradually, they start having a secret affair. All these years, Lefou and Gaston have obviously been close friends, but Lefou has also been in love with Gaston and pining for him and just living for little moments of affection like Gaston tousling his hair, or throwing an arm around him, etc. But now, with Stanley, he has someone being truly loving to him, and caring about HIS needs, and he can finally have a real sexual relationship, and it’s really great.

But at the same time, he’s still trying to take care of Gaston, and he has to keep this secret. And Stanley doesn’t understand “this weird thing you have with Gaston” and resents the time Lefou spends with him. So he’s really torn between the two of them. But Lefou feels like Stanley can’t understand all the GOOD things about his relationship with Gaston, who protected him from bullies when they were younger and in the war when they were older, and brought him on adventures and made his life so much more exciting, and gave him confidence, etc. There IS a lot of good there, even though there’s also a lot of unhealthy problematic aspects too.

Eventually Gaston finds out about Lefou and Stanley’s affair, and is jealous and upset and violent, and does something bad that makes Lefou really angry and say he never wants to see Gaston again. And here’s the thing I REALLY love: what Gaston did was very bad, and Lefou is right to be angry…but the author also shows Gaston’s POV and WHY he acts this way, and has a great deal of empathy for him. Gaston is NOT a villain here - he’s a deeply insecure, needy, depressed, emotionally immature person who covers up his issues with narcissism and a veneer of confidence. He’s been raised to believe that sadness and fear are “weak” and “unmanly,” so he’s not allowed to feel those things - so when he DOES feel those emotions, they get converted into rage, which is the only negative emotion he’s allowed to feel. Plus, he has a lot of internalized homophobia. He’s a total mess, but you can’t help empathizing and feeling sorry for him, even while not letting him off the hook and making it clear that what he did was Not Okay.

So now Lefou is gone, and without him, Gaston is totally lost and devastated. There’s one line I particularly love: “He had never realized before what a role LeFou had played. He had never even stopped to think about how vital LeFou’s presence was, because – he’d just always BEEN there. It had never occurred to Gaston to consider his importance, just as it had never occurred to him to stop and think about how great it was that AIR existed. It was just a part of things. LeFou was a part of things. And now…he wasn’t.” Oh, the feels!

So, yes. Super-insightful exploration of Gaston, Lefou, and their relationship, all the good and all the bad. Go read!

Wordy Wednesday: 4th of July

In honor of the Fourth of July being just around the corner, I decided to feature a collection of quotes about patriotism and America. Who would’ve thought that not one, but two Obama quotes would make it into a list of patriotic quotes? You know what they say; a broken clock is right twice a day. Also, a good quote is a good quote, no matter who said it, or whether or not they meant what they said. And yes, I know it’s Thursday, and I hope you’ll forgive me for my neglectful blogging and the 24 hour delay.

– Adlai Stevenson

“The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.”

Title: For Naruto and Hinata

Pairing: NaruHina, KonoHana (hinting)

Summary: So Konohamaru might, sort of, maybe have a bit of a crush on his boss’ girlfriend.

Prompt: My thanks to dattebasa and narootos for both permission and inspiration.

Note: Inspired by the aforementioned prompt, I hope I managed to do it justice without taking it completely off the rails and in another direction. I’m not sure if it’s exactly like what was expected, but I hope you all enjoy:)

He shouldn’t be doing this. Like, he really, really shouldn’t be doing this. He knew it was wrong. He knew she was his boss’ girl. He knew she had been in love with the boss since practically forever, but Konohamaru couldn’t help it. She was just so pretty and nice and wonderful and perfect and everything any guy could ever want. He loved her smile and the way it made her eyes sparkle into that pretty lavender that was so unique to her. No other Hyuuga had that and Konohamaru had met quite a few of them over the years.

Jaehee/Saeran headcanons

omg so I was browsing through @mysme-headcanons excellent blog and they mentioned shipping Jaehee/Saeran and my mind ran AWAY with it on the bus. jaehee would be so warm and supportive for him oh god i love her marry me jaehee. (i hope tagging you is ok??? you inspired this so!!) Tw for… recovering from abuse/unpleasant feelings I guess. It’s Saeran so;;

- Jaehee is working on the coffee report for Jumin and 707 wants someone to keep an eye on Saeran. “Keep an eye on Saeran” basically means “please help socialize this poor boy”, so Jaehee says it wouldn’t be any trouble to take Saeran to the coffee shop with her.

- Saeran is kind of grumpy about this - he’s never been to a cafe and he can be pretty sulky about trying new thing, but as soon as he hears there’s cake there he’s in. Besides, Jaehee is pretty inoffensive, all things considered. She’s not loud, she’s polite, and she’s got a good work ethic…

- The first thing Saeran notices is the smell. The next is how pretty everything is, and the third how just… calm it is? Jaehee gets him tea and a slice of strawberry shortcake for him to eat while she talks to the manager and it’s beautiful. He eats around the strawberry at first because it’s wonderful looking to eat, and takes these teeny, tiny bites because he feels like this is something royalty should be eating.

- When the staff starts showing Jaehee how the coffee machines work, Saeran is kind of… looming in the background. It smells so good so he wants to know, but it’s also… kind of scary…
Jaehee smiles at him so kindly and invites him to watch too.

- He really doesn’t get what’s going on but it sounds cool. They offer him a sample and Jaehee has the foresight not to give him black coffee.

- “It’s weird,” he says, nose scrunching up like a rabbit’s, but it’s sweet so he takes another sip. He likes that it’s warm.
The staff shows them how to make lattes with art and Saeran’s jaw practically drops to the floor. It’s pretty. It’s so pretty. How can something be so pretty?

- The staff offers to let them try it and Jaehee’s eyes are just gleaming. She’s SO into this and Saeran has never seen her so excited about anything and he is also just excited that this exists but can’t possibly see himself actually… like… making something so beautiful so he says he doesn’t want to make one at first.

- Jaehee knows what’s up tho. Says it’s okay. Puts a little pressure on him and says that it’d be extremely helpful for her work to see another inexperienced person do it.

- ok fine

- Neither Saeran nor Jaehee’s latte art looks very good but that doesn’t matter, holy shit Saeran just made this thing and it looks like a leaf and it’s so creamy and pretty.

- Jaehee offers to let Saeran try hers if she can try his. Saeran says ok, and is like - STUNNED by how good Jaehee’s coffee is. And then when Jaehee smiles at him and says his is wonderful he’s just
someone said something he made is wonderful

- he made something

- what is this feeling.

- Saeran leaves feeling really odd and really good and he really likes cafes.

Daddy’s Little Dancer (Austin Carlile - OM&M)

Word Count: 1,128

Tonight you were performing in front of a huge audience at your dance academy’s showcase. You loved dancing but you didn’t like the costumes. In the studio while rehearsing you could get away with wearing baggy sweats and long sleeve jumpers, but tonight you were performing three dances and each had a costume that exposed areas of your body you were ashamed of.

You weren’t one of those girls who had an awful life and cut, in fact you had a great life and a dad who loved you to be pieces. However when you were younger you got in a car crash with your best friend and her mum leaving you with scars on your arms and legs. Yes they had faded but you were still self conscious. Your dad told you each day you were beautiful.

“Wake up my little ballerina.”

You roll over coming face to face with your dad grinning ear from ear. Oh yes your dad was none other than Austin Carlile from Of Mice & Men. You put your arms out and Austin rolls his eyes before picking you up like he did when you were little. You squeal as he throws you over his shoulder and runs out of the bedroom.

You hear other guys laughing and realise that the whole band was over like they usually were.

“Put her down Austin man before you break her, we want to see her perform tonight.”

You could make out Tino from my upside down position and smiled.

“Uncle Tino save me.”

“Fear not fair maiden.”

Tino somehow manages to get you off Austin and throws you into Alan’s open arms.

“Finally the two princesses reunited. Ginger and brunette.”

You laugh before ruffling his ginger locks.

“Love you to Alan, now put me down please.”

He complies and you hug Austin’s side suddenly feeling self conscious because your shirt had rolled up and you could see the faded white scars.

“Dad, can I speak to you please.”

Austin nods before the two of you leave the lounge and head outside into the garden.

“What’s up buttercup?”

You look down at your arms and shrug your shoulders.

“Dad I’m scared. Not about the dances because I know them off by heart, but the costumes are going to expose my scars.”

“Come here love.”

He pulls you into a warm embrace and kisses the top of your head.

“Honey I know you don’t like them but you can’t let them control your life. You’re beautiful and if anything your scars make you who you are. Tonight you are going to dance your little heart out and me and the whole band will be your cheerleaders.”

“Thanks dad. Are the guys really coming? They’ve never seen me dance.”

Austin nods.

“They wouldn’t miss it for the world. And then afterwards we’re going out to celebrate the fact that I have an amazingly talented daughter who any dad would be proud to have raised.”

A weak smile crosses his lips and you sigh before squeezing his side.

“Dad you did a great job raising me on your own. I wouldn’t change anything, you did good.”

“I love you y/n.”

I manage to get the whole band seated with little hassle. Yes we got a few looks but we were here to support my daughter. I think I was more of a nervous wreck than y/n, I just wanted to see her succeed at something she loved. She had a gift and I needed to nurture her.

“Man you need to calm down, she’s going to do great.”

Alan tries to reassure me by patting my shoulder.

“Thanks Alan, the shows about to start.”

The lights dim in the auditorium and the curtains raise and there stood my daughter who was performing a solo as the opening number. She danced like an angel and I couldn’t help but film her, I was a proud dad and this would come out at one of her birthdays to embarrass her or show the grandchildren.

She flowed through her three dances with effort and grace, it bought a tear to my eye and I wasn’t the only one transfixed. The rest of the band had their mouths open in awe and it made me proud.

The second the curtain comes down on the final dance and the lights came back on in the auditorium everyone stood up and started clapping and cheering. We were right near the front so y/n could see us when she came on for her bow. I think me and the band were the loudest as each dancer was announced, and the second y/n’s name was called we turned the volume to eleven which earnt us some odd looks. y/n laughed and shook her head at our behaviour.

We manage to get backstage and I find y/n’s dressing room. She was just getting into her casual clothes when we knocked on the door and entered. Her face lit up as soon as her eyes landed on me.

She squeals and runs at me; I open my arms and pick her up with ease.

“You were amazing y/n, my pretty little dancer.”

“Wow y/n I didn’t know you were that good, I knew you could dance but that was a whole out of this world experience.”

Alan sounded shocked and surprised at the same time, y/n buried her head into my shoulder embarrassed by the praise. She didn’t think she deserved but she deserved every positive word.

“Thank you Alan. Now can we get something to eat?”

I nod and put her back down so she could pull her trainers on.

You were ecstatic that the guys and your dad had come to support you. You could see them through all three of your performances, they had awe in their eyes and you couldn’t ask for a better family.

“Are you coming princess? You zoned out a little.”

You nod your head blushing like mad.

“Sorry dad I was just thinking about my awesome family.”

Austin smiles and takes your hand before pulling you from the dressing room.

“Come on love or no dessert for you.”

Your eyes widen, no one ever threatened to take away your dessert and lived to tell the tale. Alan had learnt the hard way at Warped one year.

“No one takes my dessert away dad. Come on dad I’ll race you to the car.”

You take off running down the corridor before your dad can register what’s going on. You hear him curse your speed as he attempts to keep up with you. Tonight had been the best night of your life, you didn’t think of your scars once and let the music take over.

I love Usopp a lot of the time but I have my moments where I can be disappointed in choices he makes. I'm disappointed by Sanji's constant chivalry and nosebleeds but I still love him pretty much all the time. Lately, there's been a lot of posts since Usopp's running away tactic that defends Usopp but puts down people who were disappointed. I mean, if you're not disappointed, cool, but I was. Don't put down my feelings on his choice in the fight. Am I crazy or just stupid for thinking that? :/

I have lots and lots of love for Usopp, and I really do think he’s one of the most well developed characters in the series. I don’t think he’s right all the time either, but what he does is extremely relateable and understandable. Take Water 7 for example: he was dead wrong about whether or not the crew should keep sailing with the Going Merry. Luffy had the same reaction that Usopp did when the shipwrights told him Merry couldn’t be repaired, and what did Iceburg say to him?

And Iceburg was right. It’s the duty of the captain to protect his whole crew, while still pressing forward to achieve his dream and the dreams of his crew. And jeopardizing the lives of the entire crew and all their dreams/futures because of an unwillingness to hurt the feelings of one of their own and make sacrifices where the needed to be made is not what a captain does.

So yeah, Usopp was dead wrong. But, I can still sympathize so much with where he was coming from. Usopp always had confidence issues with himself, and over time they just kept getting bigger and bigger. I think Aokiji’s appearance, where Usopp witnessed for the first time the entire Monster Trio being defeated with 0 effort, was a scary wake up call to him

For the first time Usopp realized that he couldn’t always depend on them to beat the big bad guys, that even if he fought and did his best, they could still all be crushed. And of course, Water 7 just drove home the idea that he wasn’t good enough to be a part of the crew harder than ever before

Usopp wasn’t just refusing to leave Merry because he was attached to it (and he WAS the closest one to it out of all of them), but because he was afraid that if the crew was willing to leave Merry behind when it wasn’t of use to them anymore they’d do the same to him one day. So he took a stand and fought to try to prove himself to both Luffy and himself. In a lot of ways it’s just like the fears Robin had about the crew, the first true family she ever had, becoming to resent her for the burden she placed on them and come to hate her, so she sacrificed herself rather than put them in harms way or give them a chance to reject her eventually.

So I disagree with Usopp sometimes, and sometimes I’m even disappointed in him. I was a bit disappointed in him when he ran away at first against Trebol and Sugar, but he came back and put his life on the line all the same. And you saw how badly he was hurt in that fight. If it had gone on any farther he probably would have died, and he knew that’s what would happen to him. And can you really look at a guy like that, a guy barely any stronger than the average tumblr user, and say to him, “hey, I know we only met a few hours ago, but could you go fight that guy who can throw ships like baseballs for us and probably die pointlessly in the process? We’d really appreciate it!”

Because that’s more or less what it was. Usopp was in far over his head. He was afraid for his life, and he was frustrated with the Tontatta putting all their hopes on him, something he admittedly fostered himself in them with his lies, and that’s understandable. Do I like that he ran away? Of course not. But I understand why he did it, because face it—every single us would have done the same, except we probably never would have come back. Usopp’s not a hero and he’s not a monster. He’s just a regular guy trying to do his best to overcome his own fears and limitations and find his place in the world, and I would hope that’s something everyone can relate to.

When it comes to whether or not you’re “crazy or stupid” for being disappointed in Usopp, those aren’t things that I would say to someone. If you can look at everything I’ve said here and still hold what Usopp did against him, then I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m not one to say things like, “if you don’t love Usopp and approve of everything he does you’re stupid and I don’t want to talk to you,” since we can’t really help what characters we get attached to for personal reasons, and I don’t agree with everything Usopp does myself. But the fundamental parts of who Usopp is are so important in my opinion, and I will say that if someone hates Usopp or thinks he’s a joke I will fight them on it, because to me that’s saying something more than just insulting a character in a manga.

Anyone who thinks Usopp is a joke and doesn’t deserve to be respected is saying that people who aren’t strong, who aren’t good at something, shouldn’t even try—that people aren’t allowed to try to be better and braver than they really are. I am 100% fine with Usopp being afraid to fight, even here and now after the time skip, because there will always be people stronger than you—better than you at whatever it is you’re trying to do—and the future and whether or not we can succeed in what we try to do in life is something that people will always have anxieties about. Whether it’s getting into a school you want, getting a job you’re aiming for, standing up to people who are assholes, defending something you believe in to people who mock you, working to make a relationship work through difficult times, or anything else that we want but feel scared or uncertain about, we all need to do things in life that we don’t always have the confidence to believe we can do. And Usopp’s character and everything about him tells the message, “it’s okay to be weak, it’s okay not to be the best, it’s okay to be afraid, and it’s okay to fail—what matters is that we keep trying. We can always improve ourselves, and we can always prove our own fears wrong and do what we were afraid we couldn’t.”

All this is why I think that Usopp is possibly the most well developed and most inspirational character in the entire series. If Usopp doesn’t make someone smile, and if someone doesn’t need the type of inspiration that Usopp can offer and therefore doesn’t think too much of him, I can’t blame them for that. But Usopp means a lot to a lot of people, and in my mind both his fears and his actions come together to make a character that deserves to be respected by everyone.

It's an Anomalous Life - Part 1

[1] [2] [3] [4] [5|End]

Dipper waved goodbye to Soos and Melody as the third annual Mystery Shack holiday party came to a close. Grunkle Stan’s almost comical snores, rumbling forth from his bedroom, interrupted their farewells more than once, forcing them to settle on hugs and a friendly wave before they left. When Dipper and Mabel moved up to Gravity Falls to help Grunkle Stan with the Shack, Mabel had insisted they celebrate the holidays in style, especially the winter holidays.

She could never pick just one, so they celebrated a melange of traditions, from Christmas to Hanukkah to Yule to Kwanzaa. She always draws the line at Festivus, though, Dipper mused. Her idea was a hit with everyone at the Shack. Soos and Melody loved playing the role of Mr. and Mrs. Claus, while Grunkle Stan loved dressing up like Krampus and chasing after Wendy’s kids.

8 Reasons Why You Should Be Watching Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation is a fantastic show. If you aren’t watching it, you should be. If you are watching it then good job. And if you’ve finished watching it then go back to season one and start that baby all over again. Seriously, I’m on my fourth re watch now and it only gets funnier and more excellent each time.

I wanted to write an in depth essay about the merits and achievements of Parks and Rec, something meaningful and articulate. Instead, I have decided that the best way of showcasing how great it is, is just to give you the definite list of reasons why you should all be watching Parks and Recreation.

1) Leslie Knope/Amy Poehler

Parks & Rec is centred around a small town local government parks department representative called Leslie Knope. Leslie has enormous amounts of ambition, loves waffles, friends and work (in that order) and seriously enjoys her job. She’s a wonderful friend to all, completely optimistic about everything and an out and proud feminist (“if I had to have a strippers name it would be equality”).

What makes Leslie different to a lot of female characters on television is not that she is driven and succeeds. In fact, she doesn’t even always succeed, for example (spoiler alert) getting voted out of office in season 6. The thing about Leslie is that she takes her failures on the chin and always makes the best out of a bad situation. She is never embarrassed by them and she always motivates herself to do better.

Basically, she is a well rounded woman who has flaws like the rest of us. It is a rarity to see women, especially in comedy, with these character traits. Leslie is strong and independent, but she is also human and relies on the people around her too.

2)  Female Friendships

Speaking of Leslie’s support network, female friendship is something which Parks and Recreation  excels in. From Ann and Leslie’s beautiful friendship to Leslie’s mentoring of April (and April secretly loving it) Parks and Rec really gets the whole sisterhood thing. The women on the show constantly support each other, respect each other and they never argue about boys (with the possible minor exception of Ann and April…damn you Andy). Leslie’s Galentines Day tradition really underscores this incredibly written portrayal of female friendship (Valentines Day for girl-friends = Galentines Day).

Parks also recognises that it’s not always sunshine and rainbows, but even when Ann and Leslie have a full blow snakejuice fuelled argument - they both realize they are wrong and reconcile together;  their friendship means more than their pride.

3)  Healthy relationships

Another type of relationship which Parks and Recreation wins at is the romantic kind. Throughout the series, most of the main characters get into serious and not-so-serious relationships both with each other and guest characters. Whilst each relationship is incredibly different (can’t really compare Andy & April to Chris & Ann) they are all portrayed as healthy and loving. In season 2, Ron’s ex wife Tammy shows up and they rekindle (if you can use that word) their affair. It quickly becomes apparent that, whilst incredibly funny, their relationship is damaging to Ron and his happiness. The parks department all support Ron in breaking up with Tammy, none more than Leslie and in the end they prevail. Parks constantly shows the importance of friendship in relationships, as well as respect and trust.

Also if you don’t ship Ben and Leslie then what are you doing with your life?

4) Supporting Cast

Never have I watched a show where I love every single member of the supporting cast. I *literally* cannot pick a favourite character. They are all well rounded, funny, interesting people with their own views of the world. They band together like a little family, one that I think we would all love to be a part of. The creators of the show spent so much time developing all of the characters individually, and it’s a unique touch that makes Parks and Rec that much more special.

5) Chris Pratt

Okay, I do not have a favourite but Andy Dwyer/Chris Pratt deserves his own shoutout. Andy is hilarious, simple, caring and loyal. He was only supposed to be in the first season, and after splitting up with Ann - his character was supposed to leave Pawnee forever. Could you imagine? I for one can’t envision an Andy Dwyer-less Parks and Rec and thank goodness neither could Mike Schur and co. Andy has a fantastic heart, and what makes him even greater is that some of his best lines were improvised by Pratt onset.

6) It started life as an Office spin off but is wayyyyyyyyyyy better *

Parks and Recreation started life as an Office (US) spinoff. As much as I like The Office, I am eternally grateful that Parks got it’s own path for television. The thing is, Parks and Rec is so much better than The Office. Instead of downcast characters that spend all day winding each other up and tearing each other down, Parks and Rec is filled with positivity and characters who are always supportive of each other. The humour in Parks comes from the situations that the Parks department find themselves in, not from chastising each other (apart from Jerry/Larry/Gary). Even then, we aren’t laughing at Jerry because we know that he has a beautiful wife and a massive penis (spoiler!)

7) Celebrity Cameos

Celebrity cameos are far and few between but when they happen, they are amazing. It’s not the definitive reason to watch the show but seeing Jon Hamm as the office intern, and watching Leslie meeting Michelle Obama are certainly in my top 10 TV moments ever.

8) You will feel like part of the show

Due to the way in which Parks and Recreation is filmed, mockumentary style with minimal lighting/staging, the characters really get a chance to interact with the camera in their own ways. From Tom Haverford’s surprised grin to Ben Wyatt’s exasperated plea for help, it helps us get a better insight into these characters thoughts and feelings. It also makes us feel like Leslie and the gang are talking TO us rather than around us. It’s beautiful.

The seventh season is currently airing so you still have time to catch seasons 1 - 6 on Netflix before the finale!

DISCLAIMER I do like The Office! You have to admit, it just isn’t Parks is it?

so come on take this chance now (make it count)

So have a little Midwife!Emma/Captain Swan/Captain Book/Book Swan?? (What’s the name for the Emma/Belle brotp, cause I am drawing a blank here friends) This is inspired by 6x09 but it’s an au and has nothing to do with the episode really except for the part where Emma helps Belle give birth. Enjoy! And let me know what you think, please!

I’m singing oh, you’ve got no
You’ve got no excuses left

Emma Swan is good at what she does. Then again, it helps to have some skin in the game, helps to really know your job, and the people that you help. She knows what it’s like to be young, alone, and most importantly: pregnant. So yeah, as the head midwife at Boston’s Home for Women, she knows what she’s doing, and she sure as hell knows what her patients are going through.

Over the years at BHW Emma’s helped many women give birth. Some stories were more tragic than others, but none of them were as horrifying as Belle French’s.

Belle had come to the home in the beginning of her first trimester, running away from her abusive ass of a husband, who promised to take the baby from her, so far away that she’d never see her child again. It wasn’t just that though, apparently, he’d been verbally abusing Belle for years, treating her like a possession to control rather than his wife. Belle had always thought there was some good in him, but the moment he threatened her son, well, she just couldn’t see any way to justify his actions anymore.

Luckily for her, no matter how powerful or rich her husband claimed to be, he couldn’t reach her so long as she stayed at BHW, and Emma was happy to help.

Belle was given her own room, and the freedom to come and go as she pleased, but she mostly enjoyed reading in the small library that the home offered. She was a sweet girl, and Emma found herself looking forward to their weekly sessions, always inquiring as to which book Belle was reading next, or what names she’d been considering for her baby.

It was an odd friendship that they had, but since Emma was Belle’s midwife, they couldn’t really expand upon that friendship, leaving it to the weekly conversations during her appointments and nothing else.

So Emma guesses that’s why she never heard anything about Killian Jones. And why she got off to such a horrible start with him.

She met him, coincidentally, the day that Belle gave birth.

Continuation of this prompt. Role reversal!AU with law student Oliver and IT guy Connor.

I didn’t mean for this to almost be 10k, I really didn’t. I don’t know what happened. And just a warning, about 1/3 of this is pure porn. Whoops. Just when you think it’s over, nope! There’s more!

Enjoy, dear anon who requested it! Hope this is what you were looking for!

“… Step one: discredit the witness.”

He thinks maybe he should feel envious. Or impressed, maybe? Looking around the room, that’s certainly the consensus he’s getting. The obnoxious one–Millstone–he’s practically glaring at the smirk on Michaela’s face. Some of the others stare in awe, but most are bitter, having accepted the realization that the trophy is far beyond their reach.

But Oliver doesn’t want the trophy. Well, he does, as much as anyone else. But he doesn’t crave it. The trophy is reserved for the best in the class. The number one student. And Oliver has never been number one at anything in his life. He’s used to that by now. And losing the trophy to someone who clearly deserves it–and wants it–more than himself, that’s nothing to feel bad about.
