This months submission documents a recent Fall swell on the 38th Parallel in South Korea, near the DMZ.  The swell which coincided with beautiful weather produced pumping waves all down the coast.  The weather is cooling down quickly and the typhoon season is long gone  Bigger storms are now pushing in some powerful juice, but the water is still bearable.

Photo Two: Fall on the East coast of Korea means stronger storms, clear skies and crisp water which makes waves like this come. (D700/70-200mm)
Photo Three: Dan Mitch’ is an all round adventure sports guy, so he needed all his skills to power through this 38th parallel spin cycle.  (D700/70-200mm)

Photo Four: Every surf you have in South Korea feels 10x better than a regular surf, because there wasn’t supposed to any good waves here! (D700/24-70mm)

Photo Six:  An aging decoy guard station for the ROK army seen here, as the dropping swell trickles across the bank and some punters get the last of it on sunday morning. My September image is from my 38th Beach work.  It’s fall now in South Korea and as the typhoon season gives way in September and the cruel Siberian winter approaches Korea, punchier, cleaner but cooler conditions prevail.

This shot was taken from the jetty at 38th Beach during this late fall-early winter time.  A simple wave yes, but a beautiful, green wave peeling through in South Korea near the hostile DMZ  shows us that we can surf anywhere and anywhere can fire on it’s day, and on this day it was South Korea. (Nikkor 70-200mm).
