Ji Yong knew you saw those girls. He knows that you’ve seen worse, but the feeling of anger and annoyance showed up when he thought of it. He tried protecting you for so long. He didn’t know how you would handle it. He still doesn’t know how you’re currently handling it. You were really quiet in the car, which wasn’t exactly unexpected, but he did expect for you to cry way more than you did. He was worried about you. He doesn’t want you to get hurt.

He looked down at the bodies on the ground. Blood slowly dripping out of the hole in their heads. There were four of them. Two topless hookers and two idiot men. They knew that someone important was coming. Everyone knew to be on their best behavior, but nope they decided to ruin not only their name but Ji Yong’s image on you.

“Hey, it’ll be okay. Trust me.” Seunghyun said, knowing what’s bothering him. Ji Yong shrugged, thinking of your face as he killed your brother. The pure shock and pain that filled your eyes. It was hard for him, but it’s not like he hasn’t killed before. “I know. She’ll have to move on sooner or later.”

“Ji Yong, come here for a second.” Mr. Kwon said. Ji Yong nodded and walked towards his father. Mr. Kwon was talking to three guys at the time. All of which looked like they had been through the worst things you could imagine. They were covered in sweat and dirt, and one of them was bleeding. Mr. Kwon didn’t seem too happy with what they said, despite the smile he gave them. “Yes, dad?”

“Now boys, please repeat to my son what you just said to me.” The boys stood in fear, nodding their heads at uneven, fast speeds. One of the boys went to open their mouths, only to have a hand clamp their mouth shut. Someone else spoke up. “They got away sir.”

Summary: The saying goes, ‘the mafia is family, the mafia is home’…but even if ‘the mafia is home’…is it really the right place to raise a child?

Chapter 6

‘I think we’re being watched-’

‘I was wondering when you were going to realize that.’ Seunghyun smirks, eyes fastened to the black sedan that had been idling at the side of the road opposite the shop that he’d sent Kyungil into for supplies, instructing him to buy food as a deploy as he tried to get a good look at who had been following them for the past day. He’d already been through the list of possibilities; 1. Jiyong sending people to see what he was doing after realizing he’d left, but Jiyong knew better than to try and follow him. 2. It was the local gang sensing danger from the two men (or more likely just Kyungil, since Seunghyun had made sure not to be seen by a soul), or 3. It was the people who had sent Kyungil in the first place, in which case, the man had potentially been playing him for the past couple of days.

‘How far from the base did you say we are?’ Seunghyun asks, slipping lower into a crouch lower to the ground as someone suddenly emerges from the car and looks over in the direction Kyungil had disappeared; a patch of bushes behind the shop that lead into a small wooded area where the stray dogs usually sheltered.

‘About half a mile. The building sits on the curve of the river.’ He murmurs back, his eyes now too locked on the man despite the way Seunghyun grabs his arm and begins to pull him back further into the wooded area as he sees the tilt of the strangers head, signalling the potential for him to approach.

‘Time to leave then-‘

‘What? Why aren’t we going to challenge them?’

Kyungil’s question has Seunghyun instantly frowning at him, wondering why the hell he thought it would be a good idea to approach the men, when as far as they were concerned they had no reason to interact, despite the strangers evident interest in their actions.

‘Because that would be a death wish. And walking into a needless fight is only going to waste time and energy.’ He argues quietly, internally cursing as he sees the other doors of the car open and 3 more men get out, two looking rather burly, and even though Seunghyun knows he could take every man single handedly both from where they were stood and in combat, he knew when to run and when to fight.

And now was definitely a good time to run.
