set stones

Some nights
I feel so incredibly distant

Like oceans could be cosmos
And a dream could be a gateway

Fruit vines rest
Too young to be roused
From mid-spring slumber

Nothing is set-in-stone definitive
I remind my soul of this

My grief beheld
Sight for narrow misgivings

I will not sample this life
I will breathe it

To feel less burden
To carry on

Prompt: Credence wants to be Percival's little housewife so bad.

Hup hup please take this to be a 10 year timestamp on In a City, Reconstructed, set in 1937. Deals with Wizarding World War II even though I keep telling myself I’m NOT gonna write about Wizarding World War II. Still this is pretty fluffy and G-rated.

The Graves family home is not anything one would ever notice, buried as it is in the heavy woods.

“This used to be farmland,” Percival tells him as he clears away thorny underbrush with the wave of his wand. The vines and brambles rearrange themselves behind Percival as they make their way.

The house itself has a sloping, thatched roof, gone green with moss. A small, brown sparrow flutters away from the roof as they approach. The door to the home — set between crumbling stones and weathered, grey wood — is incredibly small. Credence has to bow rather low to get into the house itself.

“Most everyone in those days farmed,” Percival tells him. “I suppose my family wished to blend in with their Puritan neighbors.”

“It was the Burning Times,” Credence says. “It would benefit them not to draw attention to themselves.”

“Yes,” Percival says, “exactly that.”

Like the house, the furniture in the single room is small and simple and aged.

“I suppose that’s why they had so many children,” Percival says.

At the wave of his hand, a small door opens in the floor beside the stone hearth and chimney.

“The rest of the house is below,” he says, and Credence follows.

Your sheith post about it possibly being canon I did read that the writers wanted to take Tim in building relationships and the story. Which I think is cool since a lot of shows rush into relationships without any build to it. Also I don't think it's queerbaiting since as far as I know the writers never said anything was going to canon I just think they like to show support.

hi! sorry this got a little long ;; so under the cut it goes:

So I’ve made my partners page and while I’m fully aware that this blog is way too new to really be talking about mains and exclusives, I felt like being transparent about this anyway.

For the moment I don’t really plan on being exclusive with anyone in the Sailor Moon fandom. The only exception I make is with @raiijinrozu, who will be the only Makoto/Sailor Jupiter I’ll be writing serious threads with and even then I’m game for OOC and crack interactions and such with other Makoto blogs if they’re up for it. And who knows, maybe that’ll change at some point down the line too.

Really what I’m getting at right now is the same sentiment that @futureheld made earlier, which is that I don’t want to limit myself with interactions.

Shipping wise, it’s still a little too early to say, but for the moment I make plans on maybe shipping with 2-3 of each character? Again, not really set in stone.

I’ll say straight up that I would love a main Usagi to ship with since well, UsaMamo is the OTP and I just want that one partner I can send headcanons and write random crack and fluff with, but we shall see on that matter too!

okay so lunch went great

i got to meet who will probably be my boss and then his boss

they’re still working out the full definition of what my job will entail, which could take a little more time. more or less, their plan for me is to start as a sales rep/sales admin hybrid, transitioning into an administrative role within a year as their needs expand. The sales part sucks balls because i’d be having to make cold calls BUT that’s not fully set in stone

and tbh, i can put up with anything for a year

the only question that remains is $$$ which wasn’t talked about, but as long as they offer at least $40k salary, I can make it work (get rid of cable, stop shopping so damn much -.- )

by the end, greg, my would-be boss was asking how much of a notice i’d need and asked if i had sufficient office space for a dual monitor setup

so basically, if i do get this job, i’m gonna look to buy a house once my lease is up in august because right my office space would be my dining room table and while it’ll work in the short term, it’s not gonna be ideal

he’s supposed to email me some job materials by the end of the week and schedule a call so i can listen in to some cold calls, get a feel for the job and if i want to do it

and thursday i’m gonna go finally get a passport ‘cause greg confirmed that once everything goes through, they’re going to send me to Calgary for training

SO more or less the next step is waiting for the lady i met with last thursday to come back from italy so they can figure out exactly what they need for me. they said i may have to go through a more formal interview. but more or less, unless i read things totally wrong, it’s a done deal - just a matter of getting paperwork together.

my stepdad figures i’m probably about a month out from being officially hired by the time i give my two week’s notice  and whatnot, but he thinks i’ll know something concrete pretty soon.

It's a cruel kind of irony that a song like Video Killed The Radio Star, about, above all else, no legacy is set in stone. You will always be replaced.... every modern technology in this song is deeply dated. Videos? VCR? Electronic symphony? Playback? All dates. Video killed Video Killed The Radio Star. Humans are planned obsolescence products

Hi! I'm curious on how you personally determine how your fics are rated on AO3. Some of your fics that have sex scenes are rated as explicit and some of them are rated mature and I was wondering what difference is happening there. Thank you for the fantastic fics no matter what the rating!!!

for me it’s a combination of a bunch of things, like the quantity/level of detail/narrative importance

like some stories, without the sex there wouldn’t *be* a story. Get Off (Me), Setting Fire to a Stone, et c. Stories like that get an automatic Explicit rating from me because you can’t just skip over them, they’re threaded through the narrative.

the level of detail in the sex scene(s) is another important consideration. like, Divided We Stand and sequels get a mature because although there are a few sex scenes, they’re fairly vague

these two things often go together; the more important sex is to the narrative, the more likely that the scenes are going to be graphic/detailed

other things that make me rate things explicit are the quantity over the sex scenes (Whatever Works has like … four, I think? So it got an E). This again tends to be related, but isn’t always. Like … Something I Can Never Have has like 5 sex scenes mostly because Stiles and Peter wanted adequate compensation for everything else I put them through, LOL, so it got an E.

I try not to rate things as explicit unless I really feel it’s necessary, so maybe I’ve squeaked a few in under mature that shouldn’t be there, but that’s my general criteria ^_^

some reminders if we do get sana for s4:

  •  with all the islamophobia and xenophobia in the world at the moment (such as geert wilders, whose twitter banner literally is ‘stop islam’, being one of the leading candidates of the dutch election yesterday) a season with sana in the lead couldn’t have come at a better time tbh
  • to people who think sana as s4 main is “rushed”: sana had a major subplot in s2, and she was involved in s3 (even if that was to a large extent to help isak’s development, sana and her religion was still important) so she’s not more rushed than any other character on the show imo
  •  a season with sana would probably break some of the norms of the show which would be very interesting to see (for example, her backstory in s2 had to do with her family relations – how will the show solve that, when sana still lives at home?)
  • apart from the boys, sana is probably the character who would give isak (and by extension, even) the most screen-time
  • on that note: the last season’s main is always ‘followed up’ in the next season (eva and jonas post-breakup in s2, noora coming back from london in s3)
  • sana is so wise and clever and perceptive and can you imagine how cool it would be to see a whole season from her point of view?
  • also sana has such a tough exterior, so seeing what goes on when she lets her guard down? probably amazing and emotionally touching
  • i know many of you want even for s4, and i get that, i really do… but whichever character julie has chosen, it’s probably with good reason, and we probably have an awesome season in store no matter what
  • have faith in julie andem!! lord knows she’s earned it
Basic Info About the Miraculous Tattoo AU

- The tattoos appear a lighter tone of the holder’s skin color when in normal lighting.

- In sunlight they’re invisible, but become visible in dimmer light.

- When a miraculous holder first receives their tattoos it is a bit painful.

- Tattoos do not all appear at once, they begin with the writing of their hero name and more details are gained through both victories and loss.

- Loss does not only apply to death and battle ((Even though I might have some fun with this :))))) ))

- Dots and smaller tattoos are considered blemishes, reminding them of a failure.

- The more intricate tattoos are won through victories.

- If a miraculous holder dies, their tattoo flickers out like a light bulb and the unlit tattoo fades into a scar.

- When someone is in danger of being akumatized the tattoos tingle.

- When someone is akumatized the tattoos become warm.

- During transformation the lines spread over their body until they’re engulfed in light and the glowing becomes a solid suit.

- The miraculouses are still the same. (Marinette’s earrings, Adrien’s ring)

- It is possible to make the tattoos disappear if needed.
