Serpentine (New Jade) Gemstone Meaning:

Serpentine gets its name from the word ‘serpent’ because it resembles the skin of a snake. It is sometimes called New Jade and occurs in a variety of colors including red, green, brown-red, brown-yellow and white. It has been used since ancient times to guard against disease and sorcery.

A rare type of carnivorous plant that grows in serpentine soil/forests, the pitcher plant(Darlingtonia Californica) grows in large stream-like veins in the Illinois Valley here in Southern Oregon.
I stumbled across these lovely specimens while on a hike through the mountains yesterday, I couldn’t help but snap a few photos!
