seriously though i just can't

I just woke up from the craziest dream. A friend and I were in Kohl’s trying on shirts and this girl our age came out of the fitting room in a pretty dress, and I told her she looked great. The girl looked surprised but pleased, and we started talking. The girl was like, “Sometimes I come into places like this with lots of mirrors so I don’t forget how I awesome I look."

So my friend, the girl, and I walk through the store together, talking about random things, looking at jewelry (the girl found a pair of Vera Wang earrings and wistfully commented that they looked like dying stars and that her brother would love them) and socks.

Meanwhile, we start to notice people around us are glued to their phones. One lady has her hand over her mouth in horror, tears streaming down her face. Kohl’s seems an awfully lot more empty than it had been. The girl brightly suggests we look in homewares.

We go to the back of the store and start smelling all the Yankee Candles, and the girl is like, "People can be so creative. Vanilla lime? Genius! I’m going to miss this.” My friend asks if she’s going on a trip and the girl is nonchalant, like, “Things will be changing for me real soon and I’m not going to be able to enjoy things like candles anymore.” My friend wishes her all the best with whatever and I say we’ll buy her the candle so she has something to remember us by, and the girl is all, “You both are very kind. I won’t forget that, I promise."

So we go to check out, but no one’s there. So we wait and wait, and then the girl shrugs, takes the candle and the Vera Wang earrings, and goes to leave. My friend and I are mortified, crying that she has to pay for them, and the girl is like, "I doubt they’ll mind,” as she leaves. Then my friend notices the store is completely empty and takes out her phone, which is blinking with dozens of missed calls, texts, and alerts.

She opens one of the alerts and it takes her to a breaking news video. All over the world, there is chaos. Horrifying things are devouring people and destroying cities. A giant cube of sand with teeth and weird proboscises on every side is sucking up people in Rio, and a slow-moving slender titan made of clouds is walking through San Fransisco and leaving nothing in its wake. Off the coast of Japan, something is rising from the ocean but the video cuts out.

Terrified, we run out of Kohl’s and find the girl standing at the curb. She’s staring at the sky over Route 1 as a giant, shifting mass of black mist descends. The girl turns to us, smiles, and says, “That’s my brother. Thank you for a lovely day of shopping. I’ll never forget it."

Then the skin of her face and neck begins to crack and flake away, revealing fault lines of indescribable things underneath. My friend starts to weep. I manage to get out through chattering teeth that I hope her brother likes the earrings, and the girl–barely human now–smiles with the remnants of a million devoured suns and says, "You know, if everyone had been as nice as you two, we wouldn’t have come to this."

And then she squared herself exponentially and swallowed everything up.

It was awful.

the most beautiful 3-syllable-poem ‘beijing you like’ by cutie top hyung~

I’m really, really unsure why anyone thinks the Thordak fight was “too easy.”

- They literally spent forty episodes preparing for it. The characters leveled up 2-3 times during the course of those episodes, and got a lot of really wicked spells and feats in the process.

- Thordak had over 1200 hit points. That is, I believe, twice as many as any other foe they’ve ever faced, or close to. His fire breath was bad enough to KO several of them in one shot, if they hadn’t had fire resistance.

- THEY PREPARED. The hero’s feast, making sure everyone DID have fire resistance, getting all the Vestiges so that they had extra protection and/or firepower.

- If the argument is “other fights were worse” - well, that’s because they DIDN’T PREPARE PROPERLY for them. Kevdak was a terrible idea from start to finish, and wouldn’t have ended well if it hadn’t been for Scanlan’s hold spell and Travis’s amazingly timed natural 20. Umbrasyl went about as well as could be expected. Vorugal should have been a terrible idea, but they managed it because once again, Scanlan came through in the clutch. Those weren’t near-disasters because of their objective difficulty, they were near-disasters because VOX MACHINA HAS TERRIBLE PLANNING SKILLS.

- BUT THEY PLANNED FOR THORDAK. They brought allies. They had four very powerful allies on the field with them, plus armies and other allies holding back Thordak’s allies.

- A lot of credit goes to Liam and Laura for “jaegering” Pike so well. Honestly, I think they did it better than Ashley might have herself, mostly because Ashley is out of practice by necessity, while Liam and Laura live D&D every week. They knew exactly what kind of spells were needed to keep them all alive, and deployed them at just the right times.

- They spent FORTY EPISODES planning for this. Three of them died during that time. One of them was forced to pledge himself to a goddess. They dealt with a soul-stealing sword and a mad scientist and a deceitful dragon and a power-hungry goliath chieftan and a mad archfey and a raskshasa and  two other ancient chromatic dragons and a whole mess of other things along the way. The whole point of all of that was to GET TO THIS FIGHT AND LIVE. Which they did. They SUCCEEDED. And it was by their own skills, not because Matt dumbed anything down for them.

I'm very interest in the gifs you're reblogging, what's the name of the show?

Hello, friend, you are just the sort of person I want to hear from right now.
The show is called Timeless, and here is the trailer:

There is also this other cool promo. You don’t have to watch it. I just think it’s really fun with all the effects and transitions:

I watched the trailer and sort of fell in love instantly……… with the villain antagonist character and his potential interactions and relationship with the heroine. (WHICH have not let me down, btw. They have, in fact, lifted me up and added five years to my life span.)

Timeless is airing now on NBC. There have been 11 episodes so far with 5 more left in the season. And the reason that inquiring people like you are a such a beautiful gem is because the show is a little on the fence right now. We’re really hoping for a second season and need as many people as possible on board to boost ratings. It’s a great show with amazing acting, sets, and writing that just gets better as it goes. Please don’t let a possible threat of cancellation deter you. It is my opinion, where Timeless in concerned, that it is truly better to have loved and lost.

The premise is super fun as they go to many different periods in time ranging (so far) from 1754 to an upcoming episode taking place in the 1980s. All of the actors and people involved go on about how much they love it because each episode is almost like its own movie with different events and environments. And it really is. You’ve got the Hindenburg, the Lincoln assassination, the Alamo, Watergate, the American Revolution. Not to mention historical figures like Bonnie and Clyde, Katherine Johnson, Houdini, Benedict Arnold, etc. Every episode it’s new and beautiful sets. It’s gorgeous, period costumes so the time traveling characters fit in. And it’s a little mystery trying to figure out what in the world they are doing there. lol. Plus, if you like three-dimensional villains, the villain antagonist from Timeless is the embodiment of the saying, “Every villain is the hero in his own mind.” He has such understandable motives and is not 100% bad. Always a plus to me.

But also the series is not afraid to address “unpleasant” issues. As shown in the trailer, one of the time traveling characters is black. Another is a woman. And quite often they do not have an easy time because of it. So it’s really great that Timeless not only has a diverse team but also takes the time to present a realistic image of what their experience would be like. And it’s also nice to look back and see how far we’ve come. A+

So! If you are interested, all episodes are on Hulu right now. And NBC’s website. (Some episodes on their site need a cable subscription to watch, BUT the first three episodes are FREE!)

Anyone willing to give Timeless a try and help ratings will have my express gratitude and love. ♥

I’m just really looking forward to the 50th anniversary shows of Les Mis and Phantom and they have former casts come out and Ramin of course can still belt it because he’s Ramin, and there’s that new headlining star who’ll be standing on stage looking at Ramin the way he looks at Colm, and they’ll both be shining stars in a beautiful sky and it just makes me really happy to think about ok.
