Spell Circles are used in a type of spell casting that is more ritualistic than other types of spells. (For less ritualistic spells, see these posts: 1, 2, 3.) Step #1: Begin by drawing a circle and a circle within that circle.
The circles act as a barrier and/or a scope to aim and contain the effects of the spell. I recommend using India ink that has had salt dissolved in it. (If you do, be sure to only use this ink for the circle, and not for the other parts of the Spell Circle.)
Step #2: Draw the Root Sigil in the center of the smaller circle. The Root Sigil is the main goal of the spell. It is the subject of a sentence, and the sentence is the spell. If you aren’t familiar with Sigils or how to use them,Hereis a post I made about them.
Step #3: (This step can totally be skipped) Draw a Spell Seal (This is a link to Part II) in the center of the circle. When I do this, I never let the lines of the spell seal go over the Circles, or Triangles of the Root Sigil.
Step #4: The final step is to write the rest of the spell around the outside circle. When I do this, I always have a Sigil Chain that IS the complete sentence that I burn as part of the spell.
To cast a spell Circle, set up the correspondences (Candles, smudges, elements, taglocks, etc.), and say the incantation. Then once the spell has been completed. Destroy the Spell Circle. (If a Spell Seal was used, I always destroy the Spell Circle using the Elements that are attributed to the Seal used.)

“This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals—sounds that say listen to this, it is important.” - Gary Provost
an incomplete list of really annoying adhd symptoms
- Losing your phone and/or keys at least once a day, usually multiple times. (Especially my phone. If my phone is not in my hand I probably have no idea where it is.)
- Looking like an asshole 24/7 even though you’re actually a really considerate person at heart because you constantly forget to reply to texts and messages, RSVP to events, tip waiters, etc. It took me about two weeks to realize I hadn’t yet donated to my friend’s Kickstarter.
- Driving is just. You know. Fun.
- Completely forgetting what you were going to say in the middle of probably 30% of your sentences.
- Constantly burning food, leaving detergent on too long, etc. because you step out of the room for two seconds and end up distracted by something else.
- Fighting back tears when you need to clean a space but there are too many Items and u need to move them all and sort them out….somehow…kill me
- Needing clean, clear spaces in your home in order to think straight, but everything is constantly a mess because executive dysfunction.
- That persistent feeling, even when you’re calm and feeling mostly fine, that you’ve probably forgotten something of dire importance and your life is about to come crashing down around you.
- Getting super flustered when someone gives you instructions to follow that aren’t written down.
- Being actually really fucking smart but having nothing to show for it because you struggle to follow instructions, remember key components of simple tasks, and you get confused by half of what people say to you.
- Being really hardworking and taking your work really seriously but getting no credit for it because you can’t perform half as well as employees who care half as much.
- Not understanding jokes. Not understanding jokes. Not understanding jokes.N o t u n d e r s t a n d i n g j o k e s
- Thought of a good song lyric, melody, or description? You better write that shit down NOW because it’s gonna be gone in 20 seconds.
- Not knowing how to respond to various things people say so you just end up saying the most accidentally rude or awkward thing you possibly could.
- Literally not even being able to focus on things that you love to do. Having to structure time to do things that are fulfilling to you. *bangs head against wall repeatedly*
- Checking and re-checking any work you do because who the hell knows what glaringly obvious idiotic mistake you might have made.
- Realizing that absolutely everything you know how to do halfway competently is a combination of Google and winging it because your brain just does not process information the way it’s normally presented and “common sense” is not a thing with you.
- Having to set an unsettling amount of alarms on your phone if you actually want to remember the things you need to do.
- Pretty much never making any recipe that involves more than 4 ingredients because anything past that gets overwhelming.
- Making to-do lists and forgetting you made them.
Alex groaned, running her hand through her now electric blue hair, peeking up at Magnus through a couple of stray strands. “I don’t know. Some complete idiot put dye in my shampoo or whatever. So now I have electric blue hair and not green. Something is terribly wrong, and I hate it. I don’t feel like myself.”
She paused for a moment. “Where did they even get hair dye from? I didn’t think hair dye was available in Valhalla.”
Magnus looked thoughtful. “Beats me. I have no idea.”
Alex groaned and hid under the bedsheets. “I can’t let anyone see me like this. You’re an exception, since you very rudely barged into my room when I didn’t answer.”

It was no secret that Draco Malfoy was not a nice person. Even with his girlfriend by his side who often elbowed him in the ribs, tugged at his robe or shirt or even sometimes smaked him lightly on the back of his head when he was going too far with the rude remarks that he was so used to.
Draco usually seemed like a very confident person, who knew his value and was ready to prove to people that he was better than them due to his blood status. But he knew his limits, he knew how to treat his girlfriend, who kept up with his behaviour and mood swings, who was always by his side. Draco was very grateful for her, though he may not always know how to show it.
Draco and Y/N weren’t a typical couple that was all lovey dovey. Their way of showing affection limited to holding hands, small hugs and occasional kisses on the cheek or forehead, prefering to keep things rather private. Everyone knew they were together, though. The boy did not hide the fact that Y/N was his girlfriend, he sometimes even bragged about it.
But this one time, he took things too far. He’s been very stressed lately, his father expecting more from him, Draco feeling the pressure coming from being one of the Malfoys.
He hasn’t spoken to Y/N since the early morning of the day before, her being busy with her exams. So Draco decided to wait for her after her last class, missing spending time with her even though he always had his group of “friends” with him. He would’ve been happy with even a few minutes with her but he never saw her leave the class. After about 15 minutes of waiting, when the corridors were now empty, he went inside the classroom to check if anyone was inside, only to find it completely empty. He furrowed his eyebrows, his mood getting only worse. He went to the Great Hall and found Y/N’s friends. He could feel people’s eyes on him as he walked up to Y/H’s table, to the group of students younger from him by a year.
“Uhm, have you guys seen Y/N?” he asked quickly, not really in the mood to talk with anyone but Y/N.
“Yeah, she’s with Neville in the library, studying,” one of your male friends said while wiggling his eyebrows, making your other friends laugh before feeling Draco glaring at him, “Uh, um, yeah. He’s helping her wi-with herbiology or s-something?” he stuttered, fear visible on his face. Not many people can handle Draco’s glare, so it was rather understandable.
The blonde boy only rolled his eyes, turned on his heel and speeded out of the room.
“Stupid Longbottom,” he scoffed under his breath as he made his ways to the library. He had his fists clenched by his sides, his robe flying behind him.
Just before he entered the library he could hear your muffled laugh, the faint sound or your giggles making his heart skip a beat, though his face showed nothing but anger. He walked through the shelves full of books and he stopped at the sight of you sitting next to Neville, your hands covering your mouth as not to laugh too loudly, your other hand jokingly pushing Neville.
“What the hell is going on in here?” He growled as soon as he walked closer to them, both of them turning around. He could see that Neville looked rather scared, but Y/N looked at him with a small smile on her face, before speaking, “We’re just studying Draco. I had some trouble but I really need to get a good mark on the next exam-”
“I could’ve helped you,” he scoffed, eyeing Neville quickly before fixing his eyes back to the girl.
“You know as much as I do,” she stuck her tongue out. Neville quickly grabbed his books, his hands slightly shaking.
“I’ll see you la-, uh, bye,” he stopped mis-sentence due to Draco’s gaze burning into Neville’s soul, before he turned around and rushed out of the library.
“Great, Draco. He was just helping me, not a reason to treat him like shit,” Y/N rolled her eyes and started to collect the books laying on the desk.
“Yes, you were,” the girl sighed and looked Draco’s in the eyes, sensing he wasn’t in the best mood, “is everything alright?” His eyes moved away from her face, looking at anything else, “Draco?”
He didn’t even realise when she managed to put down the books before he felt her cold hands cup his face, studying his face carefully.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” She asked him softly, her thumb soothing the skin of his cheek. He simply shook his head and he heard her sigh quietly before she stepped on her toes to place a gentle kiss on his lip. When she pulled back she intertwined her fingers with his and smiled at him, “Let’s go back to your common room, alright?”
While on their way to the Slytherin’s common room, Y/N started chatting Draco up about the smallest thing in the world, making the topic of the conversation very light and comfortable, and not really that relevent. She tried to crack a few jokes here and there, failing to do most of them, which was what made Draco smile, shaking his head in amusement.
When they reached the common room, all of the present Slytherins shot a quick glance at the couple, Y/N chatting happily with Draco beside her with a visible frown on his face, though his eyes sparkled and his lips turned into a small smile whenever he looked at her.
They moved onto one of the couches in the corner, Y/N grabbed a blanket and plopped down onto the couch, patting the place next to her. Draco sat beside her and tugged at the blanket so that both of their legs were covered. Y/N grabbed his arm and lifted it so that she could cuddle into his side, letting his arm wrap around her. His fingers instantly went to play with the her hair, twirling it around his pale and slender fingers.
Y/N grabbed his other hand and started playing with his fingers since she liked to do so. She could feel him relaxing with every deep breath he took, though she was wondering what set him off that day.
After a long moment she moved her head slightly to place a sweet kiss below his jaw before she whispered, “’s gonna be alright, Draco.”
“It’s gonna sound so cheesy but as long as you stay with me, I know it’s gonna be okay,” he kissed her forehead and cuddled her closer to his body.
“Who knew the scary and mean Draco Malfoy would be this cheesy,” she giggled loudly, making him groan, though she was pleased with herself for making him feel this way.
“Why am I even with you,” he sighed dramatically, making Y/N giggle even louder as he kissed her cheek. Though not was well in his life, she was the one to make everything feel alright.

everything around you becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and that
person…is that considered love? Giving yourself up to not hurt them? To
ignore your feelings so they can be happy? But what if it’s taking over your
life and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it?
That’s the cruel thing about love.
You can’t decide when to stop your heart from fluttering for someone. It might hurt at first, make you feel like
your heart is exploding but eventually it’ll pass. The pain of loving someone
who doesn’t even know you exist.

that’s your reflection. Your head hangs low to avoid any possible eye contact
with him. Every time he passes, the
moment seems to freeze. Your heart seems to skip a beat whenever you catch him
smiling, talking so passionately about the things he’s enjoys. The way his hazelnut brown eyes light up with so
much adoration like a million shining stars at night.
Your heart seems to break whenever you
see him touching another girl like they’ve known each other for years.
A smile tugs on the edge of your lips by the thought of it. You quickly catch
your lower lip between your teeth to avoid anyone from noticing.
You quickly run into class, your heart stopping when you see him sitting in
front of the class. He’s sitting on his desk, talking to the other boys of the
football team and with the cheerleading captain by his site. You pull your
syllabus closer to your face to hide your red cheeks burning with fire. Your
breath hitches in your throat when you see him catch his lower lip between his
teeth and biting down on it ever so gently. You quicken your path to avoid your
thoughts from going any further and sit down at your desk at the back of the
class, listening to his fainted giggles mixing in with the loud obnoxious ones
from the girl next to him and seeming to admire him more by the second.
You drop your head on the desk and watch him from afar. You let out a deep
breath out of frustration and shut your eyes. Why is it so hard to forget about
him when he doesn’t even seem to notice your existence?
But who are you to blame? His short brown hair and gentle dark eyes are able to
make any girl fall for him in a matter of seconds. To him, you probably are no
one. The thought of you feeling attracted towards him, might even be absolutely
stupid to him. When the bell finally rips you out of your thoughts your heart
drops by the sight in front of you. Her hand on his arm, laughing hysterically
at one of his jokes.
You want to
scream, run away or slap the smile out of her face but then again, you’re in no
position to feel jealous or protective over him. In the end, he doesn’t even
know you exist.
You quickly collect all your things, not wanting to bear the sight in front of
you any longer. He waves good bye to the girl when you walk past.
You start to feel uneasy, tears prickling your eyes. Your heart breaking more
every time he walks pasts you without even noticing you.
Suddenly you feel a hand brushing against your shoulder gently. You stop in
your step and stare ahead, trying to control your emotions. You slowly turn
around to them, so many thoughts wandering through your mind.
Your eyes widen when you hear your names fall from the lips you’ve dreamt of so
many times. He gently turns you around, his eyes glistening when he locks eyes

finally came true. He giggles gently at your expression, his lips turning into

One of the things I find most interesting in Kay’s book is that we know when Erik attempts to kill himself in the gypsy camp he can’t do it because deep down he still believes in God and that suicide would just land him in hell. Which makes it all the more sinister when he later designs the torture chamber which forces the victims to either slowly burn to death or more likely choose to take their lives, which in his mind would sentence them to eternal burning.

Imagine a world where the first words your soulmate say to you appear on your skin and you talk to Castiel and your brothers aren’t over the moon about it.
You were sat in the dirt ridden motel room waiting for your two older brothers to return from a hunt. You weren’t aloud to go with them since you had been ditching school to do research. Even though your brothers dragged you across the country to kill and destroy creatures out of nightmares, forcing you to change schools every 5 days, god forbid that you miss a lesson on fractions.
Had you done any of your homework? No, of course not. Had you been nervously waiting for your brothers to return from a werewolf hunt? Of course.
Suddenly, the door swung open and Sam and Dean walked in, drenched in blood head to toe. Dean had a rather pleased smile on his face while Sam had his bitch face on.
‘You were meant to kill the wolf Dean, not wear it.’ Sam said, attempting to rub a patch of blood off his coat, only making it worse.
‘What has to be done has to be done.’ Dean responded, doing a little twirl as he walked towards you.
After every single hunt, your brothers would give you a hug. It was a sense of safety for you. As Dean wrapped his noodle arms around you, you saw a figure standing behind Sam in the doorway.
Without thinking twice, you pushed Dean back and pulled the gun from underneath your bed. ‘Who are you?’ You spat at the figure, slowly walking towards it.
‘Y/N, put the gun down. He’s a friend.’ Sam told you, placing his hand over yours as he pushed them down.
The figure stepped forward out of the shadows, looking at you with question in his eyes. ‘You were not what I expected.’ He said in a gravelled voice.
After he finished his sentence, a burning sensation travelled across your right arm. Dropping the gun to the floor and falling down on your knees in pain, you pulled up your sleeve. There sat the words that the figure had just said to you, set in stone on your skin.
With shock and annoyance you looked up at your brothers who were caked in panic.
‘Well I guess I better learn my soulmates name.’ You told them, realisation setting in.
Sam’s face went from panic to annoyance. ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’
Dean, however was still processing what was happening. His eyes flicking back from your soulmate to you.
‘His name is Castiel. We call him Cas. He’s an angel of the lord.’ Sam explained to you, folding his arms in frustration.
You stood up looking at Cas. His eyes were set in a questioning position looking you up and down. ‘Interesting.’ He mumbled underneath his breath.
‘Nice to meet you too, lover.’ You sarcastically said, setting into your own version of sam’s bitch face.
‘Nope. No. Not happening.’ Dean must have realised what was going on.
Dean walked in front of you, a sense of protectiveness crawling over him.
‘That’s my little sister, it’s not going to happen.’ Dean said to Cas who was partly taken back.
‘Dean, you don’t decide this.’ Sam tried to tell Dean.
Dean looked over his shoulder, glaring at sam. ‘Like hell I don’t.’
