anonymous asked:

what is your favorite mars placement??

I’m a big fan of controlled aggressive urges so I’d have to go with Capricorn mars. I can depend on them to be level-headed, tolerant and patient; they wouldn’t blow up in your face in the heat of moment because they make it a point to have control. I also love an independent and mature flare, they’re often self reliant, dignified, goal-orientated, persistent, lawful and embody an excellent work ethic. I respect that. This is an exalted position for good reason; in this domain, Saturn ascends, disciplining and keeping the animalistic mars in line.

Juno

Juno is the marriage asteroid. The Roman goddess was married to Jupiter (and Hera, her Greek equivalent, to Zeus). Juno was the goddess of marriage, childbirth, and a protector of women. She is the Queen of the gods. When Jupiter/Zeus was unfaithful she would exact her revenge on him and his lovers. In the chart she represents the marriage we seek out or have, or the marriage partner. This also applies to long-term relationships, any relationship where commitment to one another is central.

Juno in Aries/1st House: Firey, passionate, child-like or selfish in marriage. Marriage partner with the same qualities, a more masculine/assertive/aggressive partner. Juno in the 1st embodies the Juno/Hera archetype of committed spouse. Individual that identifies with Juno.
Juno in Taurus/2nd House: A steady, committed, comfortable marriage. Loyal, down-to-earth marriage partner. Romantic partner, sensual partner. Material security through marriage.
Juno in Gemini/3rd House: Intellectual, social, witty marriage partner. Marriage based off of common interests, ever-changing, a marriage that helps you learn.
Juno in Cancer/4th House: A marriage that feels like home. Traditional values, deep emotional bond. A sensitive and caring marriage partner, partners that nurture one another. In the 4th house, desire for partner is intrinsic to the soul.
Juno in Leo/5th House: A flashy marriage, a partner you can be proud of, a heart-centered marriage. Warm love, romantic, playful. Marriage partner that gives you validation.
Juno in Virgo/6th House: Practical marriage, intellectual marriage partner, a marriage where you can keep your autonomy. Marriage partner that serves you, helps you with chores. A partner you work with.
Juno in Libra/7th House: Very relationship-oriented, finds self through marriage. Balanced and equal partnership, searching for the life partner. Romantic and wistful partner, fair partner. In the 7th House, may be searching for someone that embodies the Juno/Hera archetype of committed spouse.
Juno in Scorpio/8th House: Intense emotional partnership, sexual marriage full of intrigue, loyal partner, ‘til death do us part. There may be a shadow side, secrets, room for the shadow to come out and be healed. Marriage based off of intimacy. Shared income and riches through marriage.
Juno in Sagittarius/9th House: A marriage that allows for freedom, a marriage that expands one’s life. Marriage partner from a different culture or country. Traveling together, learning together, discovering together. May veer towards the Jupiter/Zeus archetype in the marriage.
Juno in Capricorn/10th House: Traditional marriage, family values, a marriage/partner that looks good to the public. A marriage built on a solid and secure foundation. A practical marriage, a serious marriage. In the 10th House, the Juno/Hera archetype may be the individual’s greatest potential, or what they show to the public. May be married to their career or meet spouse through work.
Juno in Aquarius/11th House: Non-traditional or alternative marriage, marriage based off of common interests, weird marriage, eccentric or unique partner. Individuality through marriage. Meeting your spouse through friends or a group you belong to. Married to your best friend.
Juno in Pisces/12th House: Marriage raised to the heavens, spiritual partnership, empathetic and compassionate partner, emotional bond, union through marriage. Healing or being healed through serious relationship. In the 12th, desire for marriage may be unconscious or hidden.

Juno Retrograde: Desire for marriage or sense of the Juno/Hera archetype may not be seen by others in you, but it is felt deeply by the individual.

As a Slytherin, I have quite a few thoughts on the whole “Slytherins are inherently evil” bias.

Slyrherins are not evil, many of our actions just fit in the more gray areas of the scale. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fucked up Slytherins, but there’s fucked up and twisted wizards from other houses too, BCJ and Pettigrew being some examples.

Slytherins are goal oriented and driven, unafraid to do what it takes to achieve their goals, often leading to the degradation of both mental and physical health. But at the same time, Slytherins have a personal set of rules that they create for themselves that they will not cross or break for any reason. Rules set by others are simply suggestions and will be easily tossed aside if they hinder progress, but breaking our own rules is out of the question. Sacrificing personal morals, beliefs, and personalities for any reason is not who a Slytherin is.

We’re also unafraid to admit who we are. Other houses have created horrible, twisted wizards like I’ve mentioned before, but unlike the other houses, Slytherin house isn’t afraid to claim it. Just because Slytherin openly admits to producing evil wizards doesn’t mean all Slytherins are evil does it?

Speaking of evil, what really is it anyways? Yes, murder, abuse of any sort whether mental or physical, sexual abuse, torture- all of that is shit. Cruel to the core. But putting the obvious aside, what is evil? Going against what is preordained? Forging your own path against the wishes and wills of others? Going against the normal and trying to achieve personal goals no matter what has to be done in the process? Take out the comic book concept of evil and destruction and chaos and think of some of the Slytherins considered evil. Narcissa didn’t murder, didn’t cheat, didn’t torture. Hell, she wasn’t wven branded with the Dark Mark! She sides with Voldemort and her husband in order to protect her son, her family, as we as keep peace with Lucius. She sided with Voldemort because it was the way she saw that was the easiest to achieve her goals- she was provided protection and her family was safe and protected. As soon as she realized Voldemort did not care for Lucius or herself, not did he care about the life of Draco and intended him to be murdered, she went against him and stopped fighting for him to keep her family safe. Hell she even lied about the death of Harry, the boy her family swore against, all to keep them safe and alive! She knew it was the only way to reach her son and ensure his safety!

And look at Regulus, Sirius’s brother. He didn’t want to be scorned, be mistreated like Sirius was, so he adopted the views of his family for self preservation. He followed Voldemort and even joined his ranks to ensure he would be treated the way he wanted to be. It would bring pride from his family, he wouldn’t have to suffer like he watched Sirius suffer. But as soon as he realized what Voldemort was doing was against his beliefs, his moral code, his set of rules he set for himself, Regulus revolted and even went a step further to try and stop Voldemort. As soon as he realized that Voldemort was as willing to treat others like scum, like slaves, and abuse and torture them like his parents did Sirius, the future he wanted to escape, he went against it and fought against it, even sacrificing himself to achieve his own ends. Yet he still told Kreacher not to tell his family what he’d done so they would not view him as they did Sirius.

There are much more Slytherin wizards like these two than like Vdemort, yet they’re considered evil because of the house they were sorted into. Remove the veil of evil and really analyze Slytherins. Slytherins aren’t evil, they’re self serving and goal oriented and often dont follow the same rules as others. They can definitely be assholes at some points though.

And the pure blood bias thing? Think about when Hogwarts was founded. Witch trial, witch hunts, an anti-magic mania was all happening. Slytherin wasn’t an ass, he just wanted to keep wizard kind safe from Muggles and didn’t trust Muggle Borns because regardless of possessing magic, they were still raised in a Muggle society with muggle beliefs and bias and could pose a threat to wizards and the wizarding community. They were a possible danger and Slytherin wanted to protect his own kind. Once the prejudice disappeared and the trials stopped, however, more selfish and cruel Slytherins manipulated that view of Slytherin into racist bigotry to justify their own unfounded hatred.

Although, ya know, putting a giant fucking unpredictable snake hidden in a secret chamber of the castle, regardless if your heir could control it or not, to stand guardian over the wizards of non Muggle descent to protect them from any Muggle threat, was a dumbass idea. Of course it’s bound to backfire, especially if the heir is a complete and utter bloodthirsty raving lunatic.

So yeah, ramble over. One about Hufflepuff is probably coming soon I have a lot to say about them

BPD Symptoms and Features

**please note: the following post was originally posted by kellyann-graceful-warrior and has been reposted here by me and bolded and italicized to reflect which symptoms i feel apply to myself**

BPD is a chronic mental disorder of emotional dysregulation+hypersensitivity due to factors such as:

-A result of an overactive autonomic nervous system (fight or flight- functions associated to panic, anxiety, anger reactions, etc)
-An under-active parasympathetic nervous system (The system that is responsible to regulate the autonomic nervous system)
-Less active and smaller in volume abnormalities in the limbic system which has functions linked to: emotional reactions, memory, decision making, motivation, behavior, learning and developmental ability, thought pattern, instincts, psychotic symptoms, seizures, and senses/the way the body perceives external stimuli.
-Reduced volume in frontal lobe which has functions linked to: decision making, communication responses, ability to comprehend consequences, emotional-based memories and triggers, and relations to people, events and situations.
-Abnormal blood flow to parts of the brain that control emotions, resulting in one to be more reactive
-Emotional reactions firing off 20% longer
-A ton of other factors

Here are the 9 main symptoms noted in the criteria and research.

1. Extreme reactions to real or perceived/feared abandonment, rejection, or criticism

2. Splitting and idealization/devaluation

3. Identity disturbance- impoverished self image/self esteem and sense of self, dysphoria, despising ones self, and extreme instability and no direction towards the future, aspirations, goals, [career] plans, values, etc

4. Impulsive behavior- a sense of urgency to relieve intensity of emotions from stimuli, often self damaging (spending sprees, binge eating, steal, substance abuse, etc).

5. Reoccurring suicidal behavior/ideations (gestures, extensive thoughts, planning, role playing) and self-harm

6. Intense rapid cycling of affective instability due to hypersensitivity+dysregulation reactions

7. Depressive symptoms- chronic feelings of emptiness, frequent feelings of being miserable, shame, self-inferiority, and extreme difficulty recovering from such feelings

8. Intense anger and/or aggression reactions- frequent anger easily triggered from incidents

9. Paranoia/panic and dissociation reactions (often in response to stresses/anxieties)
[People with BPD may often experience reactions/episodes of psychosis- paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, body dysmorphic figures, etc, as well]

Then there are hundreds of other symptoms and features to this very complex, and unfortunately, highly stigmatized and misunderstood disorder. Here are a few indicated in research.
(Note- One with the disorder may display some or most of these, but nothing is guaranteed as each person with the disorder is an individual, so don’t use these as assumptions. Some may not have the same symptoms as others, and no person with it is portrayed the same way.
They are rather a guideline to mental health workers because they are often seen and developed from the disorder and symptoms).

(ALSO NOTE- Others without it can obviously ‘display/relate’ to some of this from time to time once you take a look, but the reasoning, cause, severity, and pattern is different and this is a chronic disorder. Please note it’s completely different than that and that this post is just for awareness/education purposes since not many know about it- how to deal, what to expect, etc.
Percentages show that 8/10 of these individuals attempt suicide, while 1/10 complete it. Stigma and assumptions don’t help, but awareness does.

10. Anxiety, nervousness

11. Headaches/migraines are common

12. Seizures

13. Higher nociception (pain tolerance)- Studies show alterations in pain processing in over 50% of those with BPD. The result of this comes from different systematic responses and antinociception and may be a result of long-term self harm behavior in some cases).

14. Distorted/irregular eating patterns- reduced food intake, impoverished diet, etc

15. Obsessive compulsive features- intrusive thoughts in the thought pattern/processes, repetitive behavior as a result of self harm, paranoia, distress, etc, and repetitive speech, to name a few

16. Self discipline/work orientation as a result of OCD features

17. Attachment

18. Extreme reckless-daring behavior

19. Baiting

Chart Shapes

When reading someones chart it is important to look at the general shape of their chart to see their basic nature.

Balanced chart: A balanced chart has an even distribution of planets through the houses. All aspects of this person’s life will be stimulated and while this holds great potential, the energies may be spread too thinly when many goals are pursued at once.

Self-oriented chart: The majority if not all of the planets in a self-oriented chart are in the vertical half of the chart towards the Ascendant. These people usually have a self-directed personality and their energies are focused on self expression and individuality.

Other-oriented chart: This chart is the opposite of the self-oriented chart, the planets will be in the half of the chart towards the Descendant. This chart shape is usually a suggestion that there is a lot of emphasis on the persons relationships in life and that they feel others are more important than the self.

Inward-oriented chart: This is when most of the planets are in the bottom half of the chart, this person’s energies are introverted and focused inwardly.

Outward-oriented chart: Most of the planets are in the top half of the chart and the person’s energy flow is focused towards the world however this person may live in a sort of identity crisis, looking towards an empty centre.

Bowl chart: When all of the planets occupy one half of the chart, it is ideal that if you have a bowl, it is at a slight angle allowing constant replenishment.

Bucket chart: A bowl shaped chart with a planet opposite of the bowl as a handle, seen as a conduit between the sector of the bowl and itself.

Bundle chart: All planets reside in four signs or 120 degrees. Bundles indicate specialists who focuses primarily on those areas in which the planets fall.

See-saw chart: When the planets are in two opposing groups, this indicates that the person may feel pulled in two directions and needs to find a balance.

Locomotive chart: Planets spread evenly across eight signs or 240 degrees, this shape leaves one sector or area of life empty and unexpressed.

Splay chart: Tight bunches of planets in several signs or houses creating a choices for which area of life the person wants to focus on.

Split chart: When the planets are positioned in two unconnected area, the energy flow swings between the two and creates a dual personality.

People who reference lesbian bar scenes as though they’re dead and don’t still form critical parts of many lesbians’ life experiences thinking they have anything of relevance to say on butch/femme are truly wild. Even worse, half those people reference the death of bar scenes as some awesome thing as though it hasn’t almost entirely been because of gentrification/lesbians not having the money to maintain our own spaces and the systematic writing out of lesbians from acceptable orientations in self-named queer spaces, and as if the services those scenes provided and still provide (a way to meet people who will house you if your parents kick you out, a social support network of people like you, a place to just not feel bad about being a dyke) aren’t still desperately needed. That isn’t to say there isn’t very real trauma associated with them, as though it isn’t also connected to the absolutely outrageous rate of alcohol abuse/alcoholism among lesbians, etc (though it’s not a casual relationship) but clapping at lesbian communities being dispersed via gentrification is so wild.

"Bisexuality is defined by an attraction to two or more genders" Bi means two, though. More than two would be polysexual, while all genders or regardless of gender would be pansexual.

Everyone who tries to tell me what bisexuality means personally owes me and all of my followers $1.

Bisexual Organizations:

“The BRC uses bisexual as an umbrella term for people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender. We celebrate and affirm the diversity of identity and expression regardless of labels.”

http://bisexual.org/am-i-bi/ (American Institute of Bisexuality)
“A bi person has the capacity for romantic and/or sexual attraction to more than one gender.”

http://www.bisexualindex.org.uk/index.php/AmIBisexual (Bisexual Index: UK)
“This is how we define it: A bisexual is someone who is attracted to more than one gender. You might care about the gender of your partner a lot, a little, or not at all – but their gender doesn’t prevent you from being attracted to them.”

http://binetusa.blogspot.com/2014/03/binet-usa-bisexual-media-guide.html (BiNet USA)
“Bisexual – A person whose enduring physical, romantic and/or emotional attraction is to other people of various sexes and/or gender identities. Individuals may experience this attraction in differing ways and degrees over their lifetime.”

http://www.torontobinet.org/bi-culture.html (Toronto Bisexual Network)
“Bisexuality is the potential to feel attracted to and to engage in sexual and/or romantic relationships with people of any sex or gender.”

Activists:

https://robynochs.com/quotes/ (Robyn Ochs; Bisexual Activist)

“I call myself bisexual because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted – romantically and/or sexually – to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree.”

“Bisexuality is the attraction to two or more genders, not necessarily to the same extent, not necessarily in the same way, not necessarily at the same time.”

http://bi-privilege.tumblr.com/idingasbipolyorpan

“bisexuality is, broadly speaking, the attraction to two or more genders. bisexuality is not inherently or transphobic or exclusive of non binary genders—note that there are both binary and non-binary trans people who identify as bisexual. it is possible for bisexuals to be attracted to be attracted to anywhere from two to an infinite number of genders. many times, bisexuals will define their own sexuality as the attraction to both similar and different genders (which encompasses all genders). however, it is important to remember that bisexuals can be attracted to multiple genders without being attracted to people of their own gender. for example, an agender bi person may be attracted to women, bigender, and genderfluid people, or a bi woman might be attracted to men and agender people…..”

“bisexual: the (sexual) attraction to two or more genders. sometimes defined as the attraction to same + different genders; however, this is not true of all bisexuals.”

“bisexuality is the attraction to two or more genders”

http://bisexuality-is.tumblr.com/faq

“Bisexuals have been defining bisexuality as the attraction to two or more/same and other for decades. This isn’t some made-up tumblr joke. Words change meaning. Prefixes change meanings. We didn’t even give ourselves the term bisexual to begin with, doctors did.”

http://nonmono-perspective.tumblr.com/definitions

“bisexual- sexually attracted to your same/similar gender and other gender(s), OR sexually attracted to 2 or more genders. Some bisexuals feel that they experience different kinds or degrees of attraction to different genders/gender presentations.”

http://pinkpurplebluepride.tumblr.com/faq

“Bi: attracted to two or more genders. Some people will define it as “attracted to similar and different genders,” but this is slightly less inclusive than the above definition. I’m of the mind that “similar and different” evolved to satisfy bi=2 prescriptivists, but they are insatiable and forever gross.”

http://thesunnysideofbeingbi.tumblr.com/basics

“…being bi does not reinforce the gender binary. And some bi people are only attracted to men and women–and that’s ok! However, bi is not defined as the attraction to men and women, or two genders. It can be for an individual, but not for our entire community. That definition is not only false, but harmful. (This is not to imply that bi people can’t be transphobic!)

This also means that you don’t have to be sexually attracted to people to be bi. There are so many different kinds of attraction, and to just focus on bisexuality would be excluding a lot of people (e.g. being biromantic).”

Bisexuality is its own fully independent self-contained complete orientation.”

Other things worth the read about the definition of bisexuality:

Bisexual Manifesto from 1990:

http://binetusa.blogspot.com/2014/01/1990-bi-manifesto.html

“We are tired of being analyzed, defined and represented by people other than ourselves, or worse yet, not considered at all. We are frustrated by the imposed isolation and invisibility that comes from being told or expected to choose either a homosexual or heterosexual identity.

Monosexuality is a heterosexist dictate used to oppress homosexuals and to negate the validity of bisexuality.

Bisexuality is a whole, fluid identity. Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in nature: that we have “two” sides or that we must be involved simultaneously with both genders to be fulfilled human beings. In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders. Do not mistake our fluidity for confusion, irresponsibility, or an inability to commit. Do not equate promiscuity, infidelity, or unsafe sexual behavior with bisexuality. Those are human traits that cross all sexual orientations. Nothing should be assumed about anyone’s sexuality, including your own.

We are angered by those who refuse to accept our existence; our issues; our contributions; our alliances; our voice. It is time for the bisexual voice to be heard“

”Defining bisexuality, just like defining any identity label, can be complicated and controversial. My definition of the label “bisexual” is informed by the work of The Bisexual Organizing Project. It includes people who use labels such as “bisexual,” “non-monosexual,” “persexual,” “omnisexual,” “ambisexual,” “pansexual,” “queer” or any other term that people use to identify themselves as individuals who are emotionally, romantically or physically attracted to people of more than one sex, gender or gender identity. I also recognize that not everyone chooses to adopt a label to describe their sexual orientation, and I also include non-labeling people who see themselves as part of a queer, non-monosexual or bisexual community under my definition of “bisexual.”“

Reasons why the prefix/etymology argument is not a very good one against “bi = attraction to 2 or more”
