seek find knock open

Never fear. There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.

  • Jungkook: Hyung, I'm going on a date tonight and I was wondering what should I buy to her. What do you think about flowers?
  • Namjoon: You know, there are always flowers for those who want to see them.
  • Jungkook: Okay but what about a scarf to keep her warm? It's getting cold these days.
  • Namjoon: You can only feel warm when your heart feels warm.
  • Jungkook: Hyung, you are not helping.
  • Namjoon: Ask, and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open.
  • Jungkook: Oh my God!
  • Namjoon: Yes, only God can judge us.

Our Father…Hail Mary….Glory Be To the Father….Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III. O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.” Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of…..(here name your request)

Our Father….Hail Mary….Glory Be to the Father…Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours. The notes I made on the “Law of Attraction”

Note: This is a list of notes I put together while watching various videos on this topic. None of the thoughts and sayings are originally mine.

Hopefully, you will find some of the thoughts below helpful.

  • know, where you are going – the answers will come to you on their own accord
  • ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you
  • all you need is a purpose and faith
  • every difficulty you are undergoing now – treasure it, you never know how this exact experience can help you to achieve your goals in the future
  • no matter what your job is – do it as you have never done it before
  • act as if it were impossible to fail
  • by being persistent, you are demonstrating faith
  • don’t worry – worry brings fear and fear is crippling
  • hold your goal before you, everything else will take care itself
  • you attract what you fear, what you are, what’s on your mind
  • vizualise things you want to attract
  • an insane belief in being able to manifest things
  • we create with every word, every thought
  • you have to go: „it’s here, it’s here, it’s here“
  • intention is everything
  • thought is a driving force to everything
  • what you do is creative vision of who you want to be and then live in to the picture as if it were already true
  1. Like attracts like. You are a magnet. Whatever you are, you attract it to you. If you see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand.
  2. Ask, believe, receive. You don’t have to know how to achieve your goal. All you need to do is ask, believe and receive.
  3. Gratitude is a powerful process. Believe and I will show you. You must show gratitude for where you are. If you show gratitude, it will take you to where you want to be quicker.
  4. Laughter attracts joy and releases negativity.

Be cautious of the words, thoughts, feelings and actions you engage.

Every person I’ve ever met was running from something.

Some of them knew it and some of them didn’t; some of them only knew it sometimes. Some knew what it was they were running from, and some will probably die never having known

I’m not convinced any amount of meditation or spiritual attainment can free a person from this – especially when you consider how much of our growth occurs as a direct result of that running, becoming fundamentally inseparable from it.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” - Matthew 7:7

The act of asking/seeking/knocking can not be separated from that within a person which inspired them to ask, seek, knock. As a human, there is just no escaping this. Whatever exists for us beyond that dynamic is truly beyond our control, and will not be attained by trying to be other than we are.

There are a lot of mind tricks for those who are determined to avoid feeling the wind on their face from all that running. These are painted up and sold as transcendence. Denial is sold as bliss. Renunciation is sold as an attainment. Solipsism is sold as elevation. Mere stillness is sold as peace. The dynamic of teacher and student has become indistinguishable from that of vendor and customer, and we pay (with our attention as well as our money) to play a part in other people’s ego-affirming spiritual fantasies.

Any you still end up running, even if you can no longer feel the wind.

We can’t meditate away the past. we can only be what we are – which includes what we were, and what happened to us. This is exactly all we were meant to be; the changes that lie in wait for us can be enticed, but they can not be engineered by human hands.

You can’t change what you are. Most people are lucky if they can even manage to change what they do

Get through life. Make it what you will. Open your eyes, feel the wind.

As needed, participate in fantasies that make it easier to bear – but don’t trade away what makes you human in exchange for philosophies that paint your past (or even humanity itself) as something to escape.

There is no escape, and no need to escape. There is nothing to escape to, no better world to (re)join.

We belong here in the vast, inconsolable wilderness of it, together.

DAY 129 of 365

So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. - Luke 11:9

My dear sister,

1. He knows exactly what you need

Tonight’s verse is Jesus telling His disciples to ask for what they need when it comes to God. This beautiful truth is a reminder to us that it’s not about making a long list and handing it over to God and saying, “here God! I need these things by the year 2017.” It’s a verse about knowing that we must ask, seek, and knock when it comes to our Lord. This verse does not mean that we get to try and manipulate God and trick Him into getting what we want…because as we read through verse 13, God is not trying to trick us or play games with us at all. It is His will to give us exactly what we need, so we need not be afraid to ask Him, seek Him, and knock–even when it comes the things we desire in our future. Right now, as you’re waiting on the future, ask and seek God with all you have, and knock on that door to access HIM daily, in Jesus’ name, knowing that He will give you everything that He already knows you need.

2. He knows what you need even in those moments when you’re tired of being alone.

Don’t be afraid to talk to God even when it comes to those moments when you’re tired of being alone. For some there are these moments where loneliness just hits you. Maybe it was a picture of a happy couple you know, or an unanswered text, or a Saturday night by yourself that just has you feeling like no decent man who loves the Lord will ever be interested in you. Know that in that very moment, it’s not about picking yourself apart, but it’s about asking the Lord very specific questions about the things you are worried about in that moment. Because of Jesus, we can go DIRECTLY to God and He is not frustrated or angry when we come knocking. He WANTS us to seek Him. He WANTS us to pray real, genuine prayers when we are in need of comfort as we wait for the future. So as you wait for your future, go to Him right now, knowing that He has all you need…now.

Not Far from Buddhahood

A university student while visiting Gasan asked him: “Have you ever read the Christian Bible?”

“No, read it to me,” said Gasan.

The student opened the Bible and read from St. Matthew: “And why take ye thought for rainment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these… Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”

Gasan said: “Whoever uttered those words I consider an enlightened man.”

The student continued reading: “Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.”

Gasan remarked: “That is excellent. Whoever said that is not far from Buddhahood.”
