So yet another reason Wonder Woman really struck a chord with me is in the scene where Hyppolita discovers Antiope training Diana.
Because instead of doubling down on her original stance, she listens to Antiope. She doesn’t want to believe that Diana needs to know how to fight, but she knows Antiope is right; you can see the worry and the doubt in her face even as she says Ares may never return. And then, after wiping away a tear she finally agrees to let Diana continue training.
I keep coming back to that, and being quietly amazed that the writers did that, because so many times in genre movies and books women are shoved in these one dimensional boxes. Hyppolita, as the Matriarch, should have been shrill and controlling, and would certainly not have let herself be persuaded to see reason. We would have had a frustrated Diana continuing to sneak off with Antiope, while we the audience would low key hate Hyppolita for her willful ignorance. Instead, they gave us a complicated, thoughtful, fleshed out human being, who is not only allowed to be a badass warrior queen, but a loving mother who actually gets to show vulnerability and admit when she is wrong.

I see the stories they tell of Grey Warden endurance are not exaggerated.
You're just saying that.
Not at all. Legends abound regarding such figures as Garahel, sordid though they may be. The unanswered question, of course, is whether the endurance exists because of the taint within you or because the Grey Wardens are by nature so very... healthy. I enjoy the thought that 'tis a little of both. Natural prowess driven by a darker side.
DisneyXD orders new seasons of Star Vs. The Forces of Evil and Milo Murphy’s Law
Star Vs. The Forces of Evil receives orders for a fourth season as Milo Murphy’s Law is scheduled for a second season, according to the Hollywood Reporter this afternoon.
Star Vs., whose second season finale left fans with a giant cliffhanger, will return to Disney XD for its third season sometime this summer. Since production is well on its way for the third season, it will be interesting to see what direction its fourth season will go.
Milo Murphy’s Law, which stars Weird Al Yankovic, Sabrina Carpenter and MeKai Curtis and is written by Phineas & Ferb creators Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire, still has several more episodes to premiere this March.
Since I was asked about my storyline (<33333) I thought I might just drop this off here since I’ve never really said anything about the actual stories themselves??
From the Ashes of Creation is broken into Five Installments (If this is the correct term to use)
The first installment being Lore’s story, The Swan Song of Storms, which one main purpose is to explain certain aspects of the Universe, including ‘The Phoenixes’ and ‘The First.’, along with the how Temples play a role in universe, the way magic/abilities work, and much much more. Another aspect to it, is its affects on later stories, especially the second installment, Thorns.
The second installment is Thorns, I have thought about calling it ‘Sirens Calling’ but I have not fully committed to this name just yet, as I want my titles to speak something about the story itself. This story however, shows the after effects of the previous, while also pulling from TSSoS, as ‘The Rabbit of Demlar’ was originally Lores war-tag, and Thorn calls the Demlar she meets, ‘Rabbit’. In the end, the story paves way for the third.
The third installment being the Ramada/Verxius timeline. I’ve never really thought of a name for this one… if anything, ‘Memories of Lost Diaries’. To be quite honest, I can not see there being a ‘main character’ here, I’ve seen Verxius being the main for the first half, and switching over to Ramada during the second half, mainly because how the story is written and the character development that comes with it. This story has Thorn present in it quite a bit, as she is Ramadas mentor, although she doesn’t speak much of her past, and has quite a few differences in design since ‘Sirens calling’.
The fourth installment being Asketels, this one … this one originally had the series title, “The Pillars of Destiny”, but as I started to develop more and more, I do not know if I really want this title anymore, but it might actually stay. This installment is suppose to have a ‘fresh and new start’ to a story-line, where things of previous stories are not mentioned, and has not effected the world which this takes place. There are things mentioned that will go hand-in-hand with some of the Universal lore, like temples, corruption, ‘the old gods’, and many things which are connected, but aren’t really established as connected.
The fifth.. the big ‘ole Finale, ‘Of Spiders and Flies’, where Asketel and party goes to space, and the biggest story of them all. This is where the going gets tough, and all the OCS start to become intertwined at some point. A lot of side /character arcs open up, a lot of ‘side missions’ to gather new crew members, and just an array of things to happen here! It’s like the open-world part to an RPG. :33
oh HEY lizzie darling (WOW YOU BLOCKED ME BUT YOU’RE IN MY ASKBOX HOW GREAT THAT’S TOTALLY AMAZING SO YOU CAN TALK TO ME BUT I CANNOT TALK TO YOU HUH), just a heads up: I opened that newsletter because people come to my blog for discourse.
too bad it’s usually politics discourse which you’d know if you signed up for it, and it’s not drama I have been involved in half of the time, like the last issue was about how dumb is the pennywise wank from when the IT movie came out.
that sign up is entirely ironic and sarcastic and tbh I wasn’t even planning on putting you and your friends in it because I’m not that horrible of a person and I don’t want to send you a storm of anons WHICH IS A COURTESY YOU HAVEN’T QUITE GIVEN ME YET
but okay lmaaaaoooooo sure thing, if you do sign up you’ll see that it’s about everything but fandom drama, it’s about POLITICS DRAMA, exactly because I have people on here who are here for the politics and not the fandom and so I send them a summary for it since they don’t care for fangirling. most of that newsletter is for informing people that there’s idiots on tumblr who think north korea is a democracy, not for slandering people for fandom drama. which you’d see if you subscribe to it. also I don’t know who subscribed to that which doesn’t make it a clique, differently from you. :D
it’s still not a crime, accusing me of condoning child pornography is. <3
