see how it works

Social media is such a double-edged sword. It offers this strange little window into people’s lives that makes me feel less alone. Yet it taunts me with lives that seem so much more fulfilling than my own; lives that are in sight but always tantalisingly out of reach. It’s like living inside a goldfish bowl.

frenchfilmlovers  asked:

Why do you think Harry is a kinky guy? Where does that come from? Because a lot of fans think that. Is there any real proof to that or just how you imagine him to be? Just curious because I also wonder.

Oof, ok… I’ve been sitting on this ask all day, thinking of a proper way to answer this, so, let’s do this…

I think it all comes down to how he carries himself, be it on stage or walking down the street. Harry is someone who’s very comfortable in his own skin, you can see that on the way he walks, on the way he talks and on the way he maneuvers himself - he’s clearly a confident man.

When he’s performing (and of course we all know that his persona on stage is a heightened version of who he is on a daily basis), we can all see how confident he is - he knows how to work people up, he knows how to get a rise out of them because he knows how to work every single limb of his body in his favor. He also knows he’s an attractive guy, he knows that when he moves this way or when he looks at the crowd this other way, he knows he’ll make them scream for him and that is his goal (there’s also a bit of a praise kink right there but that’s for another ask). He knows how to use the sexual part of him and his body, he knows how to command himself and also evoke reactions from people and he does it comfortably and very very easily.

Which takes me to the kinky thing…  I can bet my ass he’s even more in charge and he’s even more taunting when it comes to sex.

There’s the fact that he’s kind of a tease - loves talking about sex/mentioning sex without actually saying all the words (which, I think, also translates to the bedroom). You can’t tell me all those “give me an OH YEAH!” weren’t meant to be at least a teeny tiny bit sexual.

And then we can move on to the songs he’s written, Stockholm Syndrome being the biggest example out of them all, but also many others. His answer when asked what the song was about delivered with a smirk that make my legs go weak to this day - “it’s about a nympho”.

I very much doubt that someone who’s so comfortable and in charge of himself on stage is much different in the bedroom - he’s so comfortable because he’s open to new experiences, he’ll try everything once if it doesn’t do him harm and he’ll always be willing to go the extra mile to please his lover. He’s also an aquarius and us aquarians *cough cough* are very kinky and enjoy somewhat of a … adventurous sex life (I’m not an expert tho, you can all ask Sydney or E about that bit).

To put it simply, Harry is very sexual and he’s not afraid to show it off and use it to his advantage and that just goes to show that “kinky” doesn’t cover it.

P.s.: before anyone gets mad at me, I’d just like to point out that these are all out of my own observation and I am not saying HE IS because I’M SAYING HE IS KINKY. This is just observation and my own musings about him, that’s all.

Watercoloured Elf - yeah i really didn’t know what else to call it xD but I’m super happy with how it turned out. It’s been a while since I made an OC and now that I think about it I don’t think I ever used colour.. I wanted to try and work with watercolours to see how it’d turn out andddd needless to say I might use those from now on ^^” I’m super satisfied with the outcome. Here’s to more fanart^^ artblock begone!

Yeah I saw that in emison's post to did they really try to make people believe that that was the first time she met val ?? Normani and val having all over sm so I don't see how that can be believable

It’s a great example because its a piece of PR thats sooooooo sloppy. Like they literally don’t even care that a lot of people know its a lie. It’s a totally benign non-harmful lie, but its still interesting to see a massively obvious example of how the PR lies work. There are a couple of other things that 5H’s team have tried to push a story where I honestly don’t think they care that it doesn’t make sense

I was tagged by @chris-phd and @pengwenno, thank you!

1. favorite anime?

Not to say that I sold my soul to Zankyou no Terror, but I sold my soul to Zankyou no Terror

2. your worst anime?

Sword Art On/line, High/school of the Dead, there’s probably more

3. do you read the manga that goes along with the anime you watch?

For sure, I love to see how animators chose to adapt the material they work with, and it’s interesting (and sometimes frustrating) to see certain scenes left out that really added to the story *side eyes bungou s2*

4. most favorite genre?

Psychological thriller, mystery, slice of life

5. least favorite genres?

Yaoi, harem, ecchi (this was buraihas and pengwenno’s answer too but im leaving them bc i agree)

6. favorite character?

7. least favorite character?

Mineta from BNHA

8. qualities you like in a character?

I love characters that are so fiercely loyal that they’re willing to die for friends and family, characters with sad pasts and characters who kick ass are also great

9. short or long anime?

Short. One Piece is the only exception to that rule for me.

10. anime or manga?

11. how do you choose the anime you watch?

Usually I check out seasonal anime on MAL and see what looks good, I also listen to friend’s recommendations and if there’s a manga I really love (like Koe no Katachi), the anime is automatically on my to-watch list. Other than that, seeing the characters and listening to the OP usually influences whether I want to watch something or not

12. skip or listen to intros/outros?

I usually listen to intros, but I skip outros, especially if I’m itching to see what happens in the next episode

 13. how do you cope if your friends or family don’t like you watching anime?

I don’t. I have my interests, they have theirs so whatever.

14. do you stop an anime midway if you don’t like it?

Yes, especially if there’s intense fanservice and the story doesn’t offer anything that interests me

We’ll start around 2 pm, central USA time. (In about a half hour from when this gets posted).

I’ll reblog this post then with the location of the stream! Join us then! :D Hope to see you there!

I have bought 7 dolls in 8 months and am already thinking of the 8th. I used to secretly, just very slighty judge people who spend so much and keep buying one after the other, but now I can see how easily it happens. It’s because I recently started working again and was able to get my own place, so I dont have anything stopping me. Its also because a bunch of limiteds I ‘had’ to have all came out with less than ideal timing relative to eachother. There’s non-limited dolls I want to but they’ve all been postponed since its ok to not get them right away whereas these limiteds are only going to get harder and pricier to get, which means I have to grab them immediately. I’m sure people here are familiar with this issue. Now, bills etc always come first, and individually, I love all these dolls and I couldnt tell you which I like the best, so at least I know I’m not blindly flinging money around on impulse buys. But when I see them all together, I start to panic as I see the space they take up, and then I start to calculate in my head how much money I have spent on them. Its so much money, and it happened so quickly. I want to enjoy them, but I just feel this sense of shame at my lack of restraint, especially when I think about what others might think, such as my family. But there’s still more that I want, at least 5. I want to believe I’d finally be satisfied and stop when I have them all but Im terrified that I wont be and this will just keep going. I’m so scared this addiction could spiral out of control (even more than it already has) and then I’ll never be able to properly save money. And yet, I could never part with these guys because I love them too much. I dont know what to do :c

Actually, I’d like you to assist with Miss Foster’s and Mr. Vacker’s training. Your skills as an Empath will be invaluable.”
Biana giggled.
“What?” Fitz asked.
“Oh, nothing,” she said. “The three of you training together and working with emotions? I don’t see how /anything/ could go wrong there.

A thread about millennials and stories (sorry for all the typos I was fueled by too much emotion to type well)

can i just say something?

when I was a kid, I told my mom that I wanted to be an actress when I grew up. You know what she told me?

She said, “sure, but you’re going to have to do it in China. America won’t hire you if you’re Asian.”

And that was it for that dream.

Of course, that was just a phase - one of many, one I would’ve gotten over anyway. But what she said stuck to me. You’re going to have to act in China, because America doesn’t hire Asians.

And if there’s anything I learned over these years, it’s that she was right. Asian-Americans don’t get to see ourselves on screen. We don’t get to read about our deeds. And we get pissed. We complain, we shout, and people dismiss us because, oh, “the Japanese are okay with Ghost in the Shell”, and “I’ve heard that mainland Chinese are perfectly fine with Iron Fist.” Well, great for them. This isn’t about them.

This is about us. Asian-Americans. Asian-Canadians. Asian-Australians. Asian hyphen something. And the Asians in Asia don’t understand - because they can’t. They’re surrounded by media portrayals of them. They never have to fight for representation because it’s always there. They have no idea what it’s like to live in a country that sees you as other, and then to have to go back to your home country, to have your parents tell you “this is you, this is your culture, your heritage” and you look upon the faces of your family and you see nothing of yourself in them.

Asian-Americans are not the same as Asians who live in Asia. We live in a different culture. Our values, our beliefs, the experiences that shape our lives are separate.

We want to see ourselves in western media because it’s what we grew up with. It’s what surrounds us. Sure, we can watch K-dramas and anime and Chinese/Taiwanese/Japanese/whatever dramas, and a lot of us do, but it’s still not us

We shouldn’t have to go watch Asian dramas just to see a part of us represented. We shouldn’t have to move to Asia just to be hired.

We deserve to represent, and be represented, as ourselves.
