I have not read a single book in the Wings of Fire series. Heck I havent even bothered to look at the actual covers of the books yet. My only jumping off point is hearing an acquaintance describe said series as “Warrior Cats, but with dragons”.

Using the wisdom of pictureless descriptions and vague information on the internet, I have managed to draw what I think several of the dragon species in the series would/should look like.

So in Wings of Fire, it’s said that the dragon species are fully mature at age 7. So I decided to try drawing what each tribe would look as a baby, a teen, and an adult Mostly I just varied the length of the horns and made the ears and eyes bigger, and the snouts shorter. It was a fun exercise though, I don’t often see artists draw young dragons.

Throw back to Book One:

“So what’s the best way to punish a SeaWing?” Vermilion swooped over the crowd, trying to look as if he was perfectly comfortable in the air instead of on the sands where he usually did his announcing.

“Chop off his head!”

“Stuff grass in his gills!”

“Drown him!”

Vermilion sighed. “All good suggestions,” he said. “But no. The best way to punish a SeaWing is to their water. All their water. For months.”

I would like to point out that the SkyWings knew that the SeaWings had gills, but “Drown him!” was still a suggested answer.

THERE HE IS!! MY THIRD WOF OC!! I love him lots but he is very much Not Nice.

Low key cannibal, huge, super vain and manipulative. Kind of a big deal in the black market. Just not a cool guy. BUT ISNT HE PRETTY?????
