Fun Fact

See the doggie tissue box behind Victor? Doesn’t it look familiar?

Victor’s poodle tissue box was inspired by Yuzuru Hanyu’s Pooh Tissue Box!

For those of you who don’t know the backstory on this beautiful tissue box: Figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu always had a miniature pooh bear along with his tissue boxes during his junior days, 2009-2010 season. Then a simple pooh cover with tissues coming out of his nose was introduced in the 2010-2011 season. Then finally, the Pooh tissue box was born in the 2011-2012 season and they have been inseparable ever since. Most of the times, Pooh is seen beside Yuzuru’s coach cheering him on in every competition outside the rink. Funny fact to go along with it, when Yuzu moved to Toronto, his coach Brian Orser stated in an interview, that when he saw Yuzuru, he said, “I always thought he was that weird kid with the Winnie the pooh doll. Now I’m that kid’s coach…and I have to carry it.”

IN CONCLUSION, YUZU X POOH = TRUE FRIENDSHIP

The Beauty and the Beast AU got me thinking about other Disney movies -- specifically, Sleeping Beauty (idk why man), and like, what about a modern Sleeping Beauty AU (there may also be a bit of Snow White plot in it, but I'm just rollin with it). Everybody gets a prophecy about them when they're born, it's just a thing that happens, so, when Sidney is born, his parents receive the prophecy that their son will grow up to be handsome, kind, and extremely talented at what he's the most (1/6)

passionate about (which, as we all know, will be hockey), however, he’ll have to master his own heart as well, rather than just hockey, or else he’ll suffer for it – the gist is that (just imagine this is in ye ol fuckin prophecy english) he’ll get to spend five years doing the thing he’s most passionate about, but soon after, his passion will severely injure him, and from there, he’ll have one year to receive a kiss from his true love and break the curse, or be stuck with it for the rest (2/6)

of his life. Sid gets his concussion in the middle of the 2010-2011 season, and immediately knows that this is it, and panics, because people are so troubling and finding one to love in a year is unthinkable. In the meantime, when Sid’s not basically dead, the Pens try to organize groups of people to just like… test-kiss Sid??? (the Caps visit, and Ovi plants one on him before shrugging and whispering, “Am sorry about your head, Sidney. I don’t think we’re true love, and, between you and (3/6)

me, I already have best husband, but better safe than sorry, da?” And even Giroux drags the entire goddamn Flyers roster to see him, because, “Your team can eat shit and die, but Canada needs you, fucker.”) And long story short Sid and Geno (feat. torn ACL/MCL) bond while not being able to play, they realize that they’ve been falling in love with each other for years, there’s angst, and on New Year’s Eve, 2011, all of the Pens each give Sidney one last-ditch-effort of a kiss, but G’s the (4/6)

last to go and he just apologizes to Sid over and over that they couldn’t find the person who could take his pain away, apologizes because it’s their fault, his fault that Sidney’s going to be hurting for the rest of his life. All he wants is for Sid to be happy and smile and laugh like a honking goose and Sid reassures Geno that no one has ever made him feel the intense happiness he knew he felt with G by his side. So, Geno places a sweet kiss on Sidney’s lips, then a flash of light takes (5/6)

over the room, and the curse is broken. Immediately, Sid kind of just… breaks down, because he’s overjoyed to be free from the curse, but also because fuck fuck fuck Geno’s gonna know he’s in love with him and that can’t happen because- oh wait, no, Geno’s overflowing with eagerness when he asks, “Curse… it’s broken?” and Sid nods before Geno surges down to kiss him some more, mumbling, “I love you so much, Sid, and you love me… is too good to be true.” AND YAY HAPPY ENDING (6/6)

Top 10 Daisuke Takahashi programs (competitive)

I’m gonna be honest here. I, like many other people and aunties out there am a huge Daisuke Takahashi fan. In fact, he is the definition of figure skating to me and there will be no other skater like him, ever. And this is a good thing. It makes him special and he is hopefully inspiring juniors to find their own skating personality and achieve their own brilliance; Tatsuki Machida and Shoma Uno are probably the most notable examples and I’m sure more will follow. How do you describe a skater like Daisuke Takahashi? Experts, bloggers and fans have already done this, numerous times. It is pointless for me to start painting a picture of him because it would most likely end up being an unworthy attempt. His skating speaks for itself and I am merely trying to pay a tribute to (imo) his most notable programs. So yes, you read that right; this is a subjective Top 10 Daisuke Takahashi programs.
