season 7: what you leave behind

Arrow/Flash/Legends/Supergirl Master List for Binging

Want to get into the flarrowverse? Don’t know where to start? Fret no more, my friend. I’ve formulated this DCTV master-list of which episodes to start with, and where to go when more shows get involved. It’s up to date as of 2/16/17. I highly recommend watching them in the order that they came out, as that way you can experience little tidbits and crossovers for the way they were intended to be consumed. Happy Binging!

The Stark and the Queen

We all know that when Jon is younger, he always wanted to be a true Stark. But everyone keeps telling him he’s a bastard and he cannot have what he wanted.

Then Stannis came along and offered to legitimize him. He can now be Jon Stark and he can have Winterfell. But he declined. (In the books we have “Winterfell belongs to my sister, Sansa.”)

When Sansa was younger, she wanted to be Queen. But circumstances prevented her from becoming one.

Then Littlefinger offered her a chance to be one. To be the person that the North rallies behind, and to sit beside the man who sits on the Iron Throne. But she declined. (I think the book will also give us something like “The North belongs to my brother Jon,” since Jon is Robb’s heir.)

If Jon becomes Lord Stark, he takes Winterfell away from Sansa. If Sansa becomes Queen, she takes the North away from Jon.

They both realized it’s not the name or the title that they truly want. But what it means to be a true Stark and a true Queen.

A Stark is more than a last name. It’s a name that is loved and respected and feared, not only in the North, but throughout the Seven Kingdoms. Even their enemies know it. The Lannisters, the Boltons, even the Targaryens know that the North will only be theirs if they have a true Stark in their corner.

It’s the same with being a Queen. A Queen like Margaery inspires love and respect from the people. A Queen like D@ny and Cersei inspires fear. Sansa wanted to become a beloved and respected Queen, but after all the trauma that she experienced, she also wants to inspire fear and loyalty.

It took some time, but I think everything that Jon and Sansa experienced happened because they have to be worthy of the things they desired the most.

Jon has to be worthy of the Stark name, so he had to prove himself. His experiences when he joined the Night’s Watch and when he helped the Free Folks cemented his reputation as a good man, like a true Stark. Jon needs to be established as a truly just and honorable person, so when his true parentage comes out, everyone will remember that he may not be a Stark by name, but he’s a Stark by blood.

Sansa also had to prove that she’ll be a good Queen before she’s given the title. It’s not enough that she looks pretty and knows her courtesies, and her songs. She has to learn what it feels like to be at the bottom of the food chain, so she would have better understanding of the people who’s lives and liberty depend on her. She has been treated as a hostage, a bastard, a whore. Her freedom was taken away and she was passed down from one enemy to another because she needs to learn how the enemies operate. She (and her King) will need these knowledge and experiences for when she faces different kinds of people with different agendas. She needs to know the right thing to say and do, not just to her subjects, but to her enemies as well.

In season 6, even Sansa denies Jon the Stark name, at first. When Davos said the North would rally behind a Stark, but Jon doesn’t have the name, Sansa did not contradict him. Instead Sansa said “No, but I do.” But after that, she kept building Jon up as Ned Stark’s son to the Lords they are trying to court. After the Battle of the Bastards, Sansa is the first to verbally acknowledge that Jon is a Stark. (My favorite dialogue of season 6: “You are, to me.”) And the rest of the North followed. They all rallied behind him and made him the King.

In season 7, Jon keeps vetoing Sansa’s political advices. He asserts that he is the King. (Hmmm… Jon’s “You may be my sister BUT I am King” sounds awfully similar to Sansa’s “No, BUT I do.”)  But in the end, Jon recognizes Sansa’s ability. And now he leaves the North in her hands, to act as the Queen on his behalf, until he returns.

In season 6, Sansa gave Jon what he wanted the most, to be acknowledged as a Stark. In season 7, Jon returned the favor and gave Sansa what she wanted, to have the power of a Queen.

(And crossing fingers, I think in season 8, they will make everything legal through marriage. Lololol.)

And I think it’s so lovely!

P.S.
I think the road to season 8 is gonna be dark and full of terrors (aka they’re gonna feed us the D@ny/Jon/Sansa triangle - boatbang, kneeling, Jon losing the North). But let’s hang on to our ship friends. The show has established pretty solid foundation for JonSa. And it started in season 1, when Ned said to Jon “You may not have my name but you have my blood,” and to Sansa “I’ll make you a match with someone who is worthy of you. Someone brave and gentle and strong.”

Ima tell y'all a couple secrets:

1) Invest in a laundry drying rack. Highly recommend bamboo. No using the dryer = lower electric bills, house doesn’t get as hot, less cleaning the lint trap, less dusty house, and honestly my clothes feel and smell better. Only downside is clothes may not dry fully between midnight and 5am on a rainy night when your stupid-ass self worked evenings and then a day.

2) Himalayan salt rock lamp = yes. Perhaps it’s just psychological, WHATEVER. Needs to be placed on some sort of plate or mat though.

3) Don’t listen to what anyone else tells you; you can never have enough hand towels or drink coasters.

4) Don’t leave the window behind the TV (ie where all the wires are) open during thunderstorm season unless you’re home to close them immediately. Unless you really like being stressed out.

5) If at first you don’t succeed, shove the plastic piece where it’s supposed to go and you’ll have built a TV stand you bought 15ish years ago!

6) When you live alone just remember that you can’t recork champagne and it would be a shame to let some go to waste.

7) If there is an animal living under your deck make sure all of your errands are completed by sundown. Especially if you have a demon on the loose in your general vicinity.

8) Supposedly unplugging things you aren’t using saves 6% of your electricity bill by cutting down on phantom use. Also it really pisses baby boomers off when you talk about all the things you do to save money so there’s that.

9) Cooking meat for one person is HARD so be careful and plan accordingly or you will accidentally end up a vegetarian (oops it’s been almost 2 months).

10) When you live alone pants are optional 100% of the time. So there’s that.

This has been a post.

I never knew my first kiss would be Spiderman (Peter Parker x Reader)

Summary: You are a superhero known as Waterfall because of your superpowers. You are also Poseidon’s daughter. And you are now a wanted war criminal for fighting with Captain America against Iron Man. Because of that, you had to stop saving people. One day, you talk to Spiderman on a rooftop and the next, your crush starts talking to you. Your suspicions turn out to be true a month later.

Warnings: some little swearing (literally just “shit”)

Word Count: 1354 (ooops)

A/N: In this imagine, you’ll be Team Cap, so sorry if you’re Team Iron Man.

Spur of the moment (Vatya) - Polly

Authors note: 2 Vatya pics in 2 days by me, yay! Someone requested a Part 2 for ‚See you in the morning‘ and this is it. And more. This is basically a prequel of how Vatya got to that point starting as early as Season 7 finale, and also Katya’s POV of that breakfast. It was meant to be a lot shorter. Seriously, this is 3,5k; I just couldn’t stop myself. I hope you like “Part 2“ (or whatever this is). I’m using Jason/Brian and he/him (Though in 1 or 2 scenes Jason is referred to as Violet and her because she’s in drag) Trixie is she/her but she’s out of drag. Also this is supposed to be in chronological order but who knows how good my google search was. Hope you enjoy! xx

what didn't you like about season 3? I liked Lotor, and the alternate universe concept as well as clone shirk and younger zarkon. now I had the "this is only 7 episodes, not the full season in mind" but I didn't like how they had Keith willingly leave his team behind when he had that character growth in season 2s BoM episode. they put Keith down a lot for characters like lance to shine, and Lotor to show his cunningness. talk to me captain

There were a lot of things I didn’t like and I had some expectations that S3 would draw my attention and interest back fully on Voltron again, but yeah - haha. Not happening, so far.

Er, putting this under “Read More” simply because rant. /sighs

the thing is I understand Ezra must be feeling shocked and confused after learning someone he loved and thought was dead is still alive but the way he’s so ready to leave Aria behind to find out what happened is just no. Like do you not really love Aria? Was she your second choice? Were you only with her because you couldn’t be with Nicole?

Richonne "I love you" Headcanon

Ok, so @siancore posited a delicious idea earlier about who would say I love you first, Rick or Michonne. I ultimately think it will be Rick and now this scene keeps playing over and over so I thought I’d just share it.

Please be aware that this is based on a mixture of GN events and season 7 spoilers/speculation.

Carl has left Alexandria, going after Negan and his men, leaving behind a panicked Enid, the only witness to his departure. She runs to find Michonne heading back to their home with Judith and informs her of what Carl has done. Michonne instructs the girl not to leave and to not tell anyone else, lest they depart without informing her. She runs back home, not bothering to close the door behind her.

“Rick!” She yells up the stairs. “Rick!”

“What? What’s wrong?” He calls back as he rushes out of their bedroom and down to see her worried expression.

“Carl’s gone,” she gasps, shifting a crying Judith around in her arms. “He’s gone after Negan.”

Without another though, Rick turns to go grab is gun but Michonne reaches out and stops him quickly, shaking her head.

“Rick, no,” she pleads. “You can’t go."

"Michonne-"

"You need to stay here,” she cuts him off, lifting Judith up. “Negan just left, you cannot leave these people. They’re scared and they need to know that you are here."

 "Carl-"

Michonne hands Judith over to her father, adjusting her katana and checking the gun on her hip. "I’ll find him,” she assures him. “We know where he’s going, I just need to get there.” He opens his mouth to protest, memories of the last time she had left Alexandria flooding him. She reaches out and caresses his face, understanding his fears, but needing him to remain. “Rick, you need to stay. For Judith and for these people."

“I can’t let you go out there by yourself,” he protests furiously, but she would not hear any of it.

“We cannot afford to have more people away from Alexandria right now,” she reminds him sternly. “You know that Rick. We need you here and Carl needs one of us… I’ll go, you stay.”

He knows she’s right. She’s always right. "Okay,” he mutters in defeat, feeling queasy at the idea of her going out there again. He does not doubt her abilities, but after the loss of Glenn and Abraham, he cannot handle the idea of losing Carl and her in one moment. “Promise me you’ll both be back."

She nods, running her fingers through his hair before she pulls his head down and plants a kiss on his forehead. “I’ll bring your son back,” she murmurs into his skin and he wraps his arms around her, pulling her up against his body.

Our son,” he corrects quietly. “You’re going to bring our son back.”

Michonne bites back a sob as she holds him close, remembering the feel of him before she gives Judith a quick kiss and backs away, preparing to leave. “Make sure no one else goes out,” she whispers and he nods, walking with her to the door. He stops himself from following her outside, knowing he would go with her if he went any further. Before she fully makes it out the door, he grabs her hand in a panic and pulls her back to him, kissing her passionately, desperate to memorize the feel of her, her scent, her face.

“I love you,” he mumbles swiftly against her lips and she smiles.

“I know,” she replies, running a hand down his cheek, committing everything to memory. “I love you too.”

She kisses him again and then hurries off the porch, determined to find Carl and bring him back. Rick watches her disappear, holding Judith tightly to him. He was terrified, but he trusted that she would return with Carl. They had to return.

2016 has been an amazing year for our shipdom with Richonne going canon, but there’s another big event just around the corner. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our talented fanfic authors, we are quickly approaching 1000 works under the Richonne tag on fanfiction.net.

We’ve got a little over 30 to go, so we’d like to challenge our writing community to create new fics to help reach that milestone by the Season 7 premiere on 10/23/16.

Writers: You have 4 weeks to create just 33 new fics. What better way to celebrate season 7, the first full season of Richonne?

Readers: Celebrate the amazing Richonne authors who have given you so many works to enjoy by leaving some love by way of reviews or messages; and rally behind them, giving encouragement as they work toward meeting this milestone.

We encourage you to use the tag #1000richonnefanfics for any stories or messages related to this challenge. We’ll be posting updates on the progress as we go, so keep an eye out. Let’s finish this hiatus with a bang!
