season 3 quinn

Daria: Mom and Dad would crucify us.

Quinn: Right, but taking the car out for a hundred-mile joyride won’t bother them at all. Face it, Daria, you’re already accessorizing.

Daria: You mean I’m an accessory.

Quinn: Whatever.”

Quintis Wedding Countdown, Day 3: Favorite Season Three Episodes (So Far) (3x07, 3x13, and 3x17 - “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Vote,” “Faux Money, Maux Problems,” and “Dirty Seeds, Done Dirt Cheap”)

I know this is completely against what this “Quintis Wedding Countdown” challenge is about, but I couldn’t choose just one episode. I chose my top three: 3x07, 3x13, and 3x17.

Waiting outside… GIFs

Scorpion 3x07 end scene

Happy, to Toby (in 3x07): You know…when I was in elementary school, I was jealous of the other kids. Because their parents waited outside (the school) to take them home, and I walked to the orphanage by myself… I was looking forward to waiting outside for somebody.

Happy/Paige (in 3x04): I don’t get it. There are buses here. Why pick him up? / We talk in the car.  / Is that what parents do? Look for ways to spend time with their kids? / That’s …kind of the whole point of having children.  / It wasn’t for my parents.

Based on your analyses, do you think it is possible that the showrunners would introduce another (an actual) baby storyline into the mix for Quintis (either now or in the future)? I go back and forth between wanting it to happen yet I do not want the team dynamic to be shifted in such a manner. Your reviews and analyses are in-depth and very insightful. They are such a pleasure to read!

Hey sweetie!  Thanks for your kind words!

Yes.  I think the writers would expand this storyline in season 4 for several reasons.

  1. Nick Wootton teased at SDCC 2016 that “there may be room for 2 babies” in response to a question about Happy and pregnancy in season 3 because of all the clues presented in season 2.
  2. The structure of the false pregnancy/cadmium poisoning plot from episodes 3.04 - 3.07 was designed for individual character growth as evidenced with Toby in 3.05 Plight at the Museum and Happy in 3.06 Bat Poop Crazy .  For this reason, the timeline remained elusive on purpose because of the eventual outcome.  The plot was also designed to bring Quintis together in the midst of controversy and address their future together.  As we saw, the “loss” transitioned into a preparation for marriage.
  3. Toby’s words to Happy in 3.07 We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Vote; adoption is also very likely.
  4. Foreshadowing elements presented in episodes following 3.07.
  5. Happy’s hard-to-soft wardrobe change from leather jackets and fitted tanks to plaid shirts, utility jackets, and loose/baggy shirts.
  6. All of this hinting has been ongoing since season 2B.
  7. Quintis is a side ship.  Shows usually progress side ships faster than main ones (e.g., JJ & Will in Criminal Minds) .

I am not entirely sure if this story will be mentioned before season 4, but I think a pregnancy/adoption storyline for Quintis would work in the fourth season.  On one hand, I want Quintis to enjoy their marriage with children coming later.  On the other, I am as equally content if it is introduced at any time in season 4.  The personal nature of season 3 has already changed the team’s dynamic, so it would just be another new normal.  Overall, it would be another exciting chance to watch these characters grow!  And I have to admit… pregnant Happy kicking butt during Scorpion missions would be AMAZING to watch!!!

Toby learns from his “main squeeze”.

The off-camera scene from 3x06 “Bat Poop Crazy” where Happy teaches Toby how to hot-wire a Ranchero came in handy for him in 3x16 “Keep It in Check, Mate” where he hot-wires the garbage truck himself.

What if Quintis decide to adopt?

Like maybe that’s what the whole non-pregnancy thing was for, Happy and Toby realising they want a child but instead of having their own baby (for now anyway) and after hearing about Happy’s childhood experiences of not finding a family and having no one, they decide to adopt a child and give it a loving home❤️
