season 3 or 4

VOLTRON THEORY
(also, spoilers for season 4)

So I was going through my Netflix on my phone, you know, just chillin. Then I see the file for my bookmarked shows and movies, pretty normal. THEN I NOTICE KEITH IS THE SHOW BANNER. I think to myself “Calm your tits, it’s not like he wasn’t in season 4” but then I freak the heck out because as you can see, Keith’s in front of the Red Lion (because of the shitty paint job and the obvious red and he has the red bayard) so basically what the fuck. We know he leaves Voltron to join the Blade of Marmora, but we also know that he freaking sees his teammates die on the daily and was 110% willing to die so… what if in season 5, Keith comes back to Red….

THEN WHAT ABOUT LANCE!

As we can see, Team Voltron already has their cliques: Coran and Allura, and Pidge, Matt, and Hunk. We already know Shiro is kinda shit at being casual friends with his teammates so Lance sure as hell won’t hang with him. Lance isn’t tech-y so he wouldn’t do computer stuff with Matt, Pidge, and Hunk. Although in Season 4 Lance has a lot of relationship development with Allura, he isn’t a diplomat like her, and Coran doesn’t seem the type to just casually have a milkshake with Lance. Lance is alone right now, and what happens if Keith goes back to Red? Lance already said before he’d be willing to step down (because of The Bedroom Scene in season 3) so what if he pulls a Shiro and disappears, or if he pulls a Keith and leaves?

I get this is a stretch because of the show banner, but legit this would crush me. Keith’s having a hard time, Lance could very well also be having a hard time.

So let’s get back to if Keith returns to Red. Why would he leave the Blade? He seems pretty happy there, he’s with his people and doesn’t have to be leader. Seems like the perfect package (despite being 110% ready to die and seeing his fellow Blade members dying as well) but we know he’d be too stubborn to leave at this point. So why would he return? Like I said, LOVER BOY LANCE WHO?? More like LONELY LANCE. What if Lance begs Keith to come back?

Okay, now let’s think of something more plausible because I doubt Lance would beg Keith to come back just because he’s lonely. With the Clone Shiro rumor floating around, that could be a factor. I saw a theory like this: Shiro could be a clone because in season 2 he didn’t want Keith to take the Marmora test, while in season 3, Shiro let’s Keith join the Blade of Marmora knowing how they’re totally cool with dying and whatnot. Also a bit on my part, Shiro hasn’t mentioned anything concerning when he was yet again, prisoner to the Galra after season 2. Seems a bit… odd. Or idk it’s been awhile since I’ve seen season 3, for all I know he had a dear diary moment with the Paladins. But anyways, he doesn’t mention anything anymore about being prisoner no more PTSD flashbacks either. Also, fanon Shiro has scars from his time being a gladiator while Season 3+ Shiro doesn’t have any scars (spare his nose scar). He was a gladiator and I doubt the Galra would give him top notch medical treatment for when he got injured; they probably wanted him dead for funsies. So why doesn’t he have any scars?

How do I tie all of these theories together, you might ask?

Well, with a plausible Clone Shiro wandering about, he might make a slip up or two and be a not-so-great leader. He might realize he’s a clone (because he doesn’t seem to know he’s one) and do something, like step down and stuff. I love Shiro, but what if Clone Shiro just isn’t the same? He’s basically be like a newbie with no experience, so that’s when Lance comes in. We know Lance wanted to be leader, so we also know that Lance wants to prove himself. What if he thinks outside of himself (for the team and character development) and calls to get Keith back as leader.

(But what about Keith being in front of the Red Lion in the promo banner?)

I’ve also seen some Black Paladin Lance theories. And for my own, it took Clone Shiro two tries to be able to fly the Black Lion. After Keith comes back, Red ditches Lance and Lance becomes distraught. Then, after Clone Shiro proves he isn’t the OG Shiro, Black shuts down to Clone Shiro and to Keith. Leaving Lance. It was confirmed that Blue let Lance go because she saw he was evolving, what if he’s evolving into a leader?

(And IDK, feel free to throw some Klance in there. If Lance is vulnerable enough to beg Keith to return, then there’s some Klance Relationship Development right there. Then Lance would feel bad after Red rejects him for Keith, so Keith would comfort him. IDK, it’s plausible for
Klance to happen in the near future.)

Ok. So, I just wanna talk about this for a second. For anyone who doesnt know, this is from the teaser for season 4. It should be on this hellsite somewhere if you wanna watch it, or you can find it on youtube.

Now, if you haven’t seen season 3 yet, you should probably stop reading this, cause I’m gonna mention a few spoilers. There probably not going to be terribly large spoilers, but spoilers all the same. If you’ve seen season 3 or you dont care about spoilers, then read on.

Okay, so… I was watching the teaser and I didn’t think much of this scene at first. But upon seeing it again something seemed odd. In this scene (in case you haven’t seen it or don’t remember it) Lotor is chasing after something and desperately trying to hit it with his sword. This is significant because, so far when Lotor has fought anyone, he’s calm and cool. Hell, so far Lotor seems to be someone who never seems to loose his calm exterior and always seems to be in control. He does crack sometimes, but not like this. In this scene he’s clearly upset. In fact, I’d go as far as to say he’s in a panic. I mean, look at the look on his face in the last shot. Whatever it is he’s desperate to wound/kill it and he needs to do it before it can get away.
Okay. So Lotor is trying to hit something and he’s freaking out. “What’s your point Star?” You might find yourself asking.
Well, take a look at the shots again. Look at who’s in them. Acxa, Zethrid, and Ezor are in the shot with Lotor, but not Narti. In case you aren’t sure who Narti is, she’s the blind mute one. The one with the cat.
Alright so, if you’ve seen episode 7 of season 3, you know that there’s a strong chance that that cat is in fact Haggar’s. When he got sick she treated him with quintessence, apparently making him immortal or something similar.
“But Star,” you ask, “what does this have to do with anything?”
I’m glad you asked!
If you’ve seen season 3, then you remember the episode where Haggar sent someone too spy on Lotor because she doesnt trust him. He’s obviously caught because Lotor’s not an idiot. He confronts Haggar about it, throwing the cybornetic arm of her spy at her. Now I don’t know about you, but to me the whole thing felt odd. Haggar is normally at least a little bit sneakier then that. The whole thing sort of plays off as a simple filler scene simply put there too show that Lotor is playing by his own rules and Haggar isn’t having it and doesn’t trust him. But I think Haggar is a little smarter then that. She’s been the brains behind Zarkon for ten thousand years after all.
If you can’t tell where I’m going with this, let me explain. I’d say the cat (or possibly Narti herself) is there to spy for Haggar. I’d say he realizes this in that moment, perhaps after something large about his plans has been exposed, and in a fit of panic and anger tries to kill it (or Narti). Even the way it’s framed. The camera is placed between Acxa and Zethrid, like the person or whatever Lotor is attcking is standing in formation with the three other girls. That would make the scene from Narti’s point of view. Specifically, this is what she would be seeing (except it would have to be the cat seeing it because she doesn’t have eyes but that’s not the point). Both Zethrid and Ezor seem to be in a state of shock. Acxa just seems to be stepping out of his way.
So I guess what I’m saying is that, next season, if anyone turns put to be a traitor amongst Lotor’s group, it’s the cat/ Narti.
Thank you for your time.
