• Narcissa: What if we have a daughter and she wants to get her ears pierced?
  • Lucius: Irrelevant, we’re not having a daughter.
  • Narcissa: Okay, what if we have a son and he wants to take dance lessons even though his friends all play Quidditch.
  • Lucius: He can dance if he wants to.
  • Lucius: He can leave his friends behind.
  • Lucius: [in tune] Cause if his friends don’t dance, and if they don’t dance, then they’re no friends of mine.
  • Lucius: *walks away dancing*
  • Remus Lupin: Look, Severus. I want to apologize for everything we said when we were younger. For what it's worth, I really like having you around.
  • Severus Snape: No, you don't.
  • Remus Lupin: I know. I have dreams where I staple your fingers to your face.

I guess it’s because we all want to believe that what we do is very important, that people hang on to our every word, that they care what we think. The truth is, you should consider yourself lucky if you even occasionally get to make someone - anyone - feel a little better. After that, it’s all about the people that you’ve let into your life.
