scribes of life

also can we talk about the fact that the liches gave a whole speech about how suffering was a more powerful force than love, and then in a complete and utter luke skywalker moment, the boys threw a major wrench in their plans completely relying on THE POWER OF LOVE

I now present a joke SO BAD that you will never want to speak to me again.

The world’s first therapist actually lived in Ancient Egypt. His clients would come in and talk to him about all of their problems, people from all walks of life– scribes, merchants, priests, even the Pharaoh himself. The Pharoah’s appointment was from 1 to 2 every Wednesday, but he liked to talk so much that the appointment always ran over into his 2 PM client’s slot. The therapist didn’t mention it at first, because it WAS the Pharaoh, after all, the living incarnation of Ra, and he had no desire to be disrespectful, but after weeks stretched on, he politely told the Pharaoh that, while he didn’t want to interrupt him, he did tend to go over time. Fortunately, the Pharaoh was very understanding and said, “If I go over time by ten minutes, just let the next person in, even if I’m in the middle of a sentence.”

Sure enough, at his next appointment, the Pharaoh was in the middle of talking, when the next client knocked on the door and said politely, “Can I come in? Is someone in there?”

The therapist called back, “2:10! Come in!”

If you're still doing them, may I have a past life reading? They're interesting to read and it's nice that you're taking the time to do them, so thank you either way ^^

Hello dear I drew the card Scribe or Writer.

Scribe or Writer: you had a career as a writer or a scribe in a past life. Which may make you desired to write. You can naturally organize your thoughts into words. The fact that you could sit and write in a prior life shows that you can do the same in this one. If you want to be an author pursue that dream. If you do what you love you will never have sorrow and your life. Being a writer can be as simple as writing something everyday or writing stories after stories after stories of different things that you think of.

I hope this helped and is open to others interpretations blessings to you and yours

Do you know any fic where Killian is an author?

Writers Block by @gusenitsaa Killian Jones has a way with words. Or he used to… but after the accident things weren’t the same. When he fires his editor the publishing company sends him someone new to determine if his career can be salvaged or if he’s a lost cause…“No one uses the word malfeasance! Damn it Killian, are you drunk again?” (NOW complete!)

The Swan and The Scribe by once-in-a-life-time1 What happens when a thirsty writer finally gets inspiration after two years of writers block? What happens when his inspiration happens to be his beautiful, infuriating, not to mention taken neighbor Emma Swan?

Did you guys make your own Smile Dip?

Haha, no. What I’ve been referring to as the Smile Dip Doughnut Incident was when Snadge took me to Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, which she described, accurately, as “Imagine if Stan and Mabel opened a doughnut shop together.” A lot of their doughnuts are covered in, well, not actual Smile Dip, but various terrifying candy powders made of sugar, artificial coloring, and nightmares.

Apparently most people are able to eat these without devolving into an uncontrollable half-hour giggle fit accompanied by weird floaty feelings and heart palpitations.

I am not.

I'm trying to get better at values and colour but I hate doing life studies and drawing realistically, I just don't have the patience for it. I want to be a cartoonist so it's not really necessary for me to be able to paint like a concept artist either. Is this something I need to force myself to do or is there a more cartoon-friendly way of practicing these things?

OK here are some pointers from me to you!

*do colour/composition studies from animated films!

*do colour/composition studies from live action films but caricature everybody so they look like cartoons!

*now, after getting yourself comfortable with studies, actually look up masters of colour and composition and do realistic studies.

Realistic studies, more than anything else, is going to help you in the long run, though I understand how you can be bored at the prospect.  But you’ve got to get over it.

It’s TOTALLY necessary to have a really solid foundation in the basics– take lifedrawing, go to cafes and study people, go outside and do plein air illustrations.  This is how you become a really solid artist, not just someone who draws funny pictures.

Studies are fun if you look at them in a fun way, but if you already think they’re tedious, what’s going to happen when you have to do something outside of your comfort zone?  No artist should say “I can’t draw that” because we’re here to scribe life– if someone asks me “can you draw that” I say “yes” even if I haven’t! Because I’ll figure it out.

But without basic art skills like value and composition and anatomy and form, it’s very hard to emphatically say yes.

My Poetry's

Depressing
A collection of lessons learned
An ensemble of life
Scribed honestly
With rough edges
Not afraid of others
Not afraid to fall
Not afraid
While scared shitless
My poetry
Sings swan songs
In the most annoying sense
With clunks and honks
Howled by a man
Creatively
With youthful vigor
With youthful stupidity
My poetry’s trial and error
Maybe sad
But forever learning
Reader beware
This is no manuscript
But prose at its most honest level
Day-to-day
Up and down
Reader beware
