Looking for some scary reads this season?  Here are some that might interest you.  (All ‘personal recommendations’ are books that I have read in that category and that I enjoyed to some extent.)

This is in association with All Hallows Read, a read-a-thon of scary/monster books I am hosting this October.

Reflect on your bookish life in 2015…

I read SO MANY great books this year, it was awesome! I beat my reading goal of 100 books by 42, so that’s pretty impressive too, I think.

Some of my favorite books I read this year include:

  1. Eon/Eona Duology by Alison Goodman (Review)
  2. All the Rage by Courtney Summers (Review)
  3. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir (Review)
  4. Written in Red by Anne Bishop
  5. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh (Review)
  6. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
  7. The Young Elites and The Rose Society by Marie Lu
  8. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
  9. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
  10. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
  11. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
  12. The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta (Review)
  13. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier
  14. Winter by Marissa Meyer
  15. Trick by Natalia Jaster (Review)

You can see I didn’t do as many reviews as usual this year, so I hope to do a bit more in the upcoming year. :) I hope 2016 is as filled with good books as this year has been!

Review: A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC was not only a book I read at record breaking speeds, it was a book I couldn’t wait to get back to if I had to take a break from it. The sequel is on its way to me right now and I absolutely cannot wait to read it. Highly recommended.

Did Alise just write a 5 star review of ADSOM?! What a rare occurence. But an exciting one. I need to read this ASAP.
